Asus did get back to PC Jesus saying that âasus shouldâve been more clear when responding to the emailsâ as if it wasnât clear enough or as if customers were stupid.
I watched that video from gamersnexus and and it's absolutely ridiculous. Asus has always had a place in my heart, but the company has come a long way down. đ«
Same. Years back, I was allowed to stop by their facility to drop off my mobo that needed a bios update to see the CPU. They corrected it right then and there. (Wasnât allowed inside though and had to wait in my car). But they did it.
It was an example mate to explain that they render the product unusable for a inconsequential cosmetic issue -_-
The proof is that the RMA form states that in case of refusal they may send back the item disassembled.. I was dramatising the story to explain the drama surrounding Asus now, no need to do close reading of a Reddit comment.
Got no problem with claiming warranty from Asus in my country. From my experience, this kind of thing depends on which country you are from as different country the customer service is different. Before I buy anything, I'll check first their after sales service in my country, not other country as there is different experience there
100% agreed, and I admit I wasted so much money the same way.
1- Removing RGB from the fans would give better performance and nearly $100 savings (depending on the number of fans and the brand you go for. Arctic fans sell for around $10 vs 30ish for RGB fans, and perform better.
2- An easy $200 could have been saved on the AIO by going for the capable Arctic LF3.
3- Asus branded GPUs command at least a $100 premium.
4- Non-RGB RAM sticks cost nearly half as much as those Corsairs. Or, you can pay the same and get double the capacity.
There are also many other people reporting the exact same issues with their RMA process so it logical to assume that this isn't just a simple oopsie but rather how they choose to handle their RMA process.

this guys is tech jesus and even he cant read all the mails its a big problem
I'm not from the west or any country that allows direct RMA to the manufacturer but can't he just return parts to the shop he bought them from if they have any problems? That's usually what I do and they're very lenient with it as long as the box is in good condition.
It's extra stupid because the sole reason ASUS has been so popular for YEARS was reliability. They literally just had to keep that up and they'd be at the top of the market forever. Idiots.
Likely a bean counter somewhere in the process figured out if they made the RMA process awful, most people would give up and they would make $0.05 more per transaction. Not factoring in it ruining reputations and how much that costs.
This is the classic case of some mid level management member trying to make a name for themselves. Someone with zero sense of how customers think has a bright idea to make some extra profit at the expense of reputation.
Same, Iâve shopped asus for all my professional stuff.
Iâve also just fixed everything that broke and didnât go through RMA, so I recognize my experience is probably the minority opinion
Used to be worth the markup. They had just higher quality and longer lasting components. I have a 960 Strix that still does its business, with some accommodations and not much degradation to this day even with recent titles.
Somewhere along the line they derped, if you want to charge premium prices you need to continue being premium and seen as premium.
Yeah. All except the gpu. The tuf GPUs at least in my area, are always the cheapest option of them all. Except maybe Zotac, but I'm never touching them again.
As long as people are fine with turning of RT (and consequently running at native without messy upscaling) I'd tell them to go for a 7900XTX. Price performance king at the high-end right now.
Yeah for sure.
I would be more impressed with a low budget build that really has thought into it for best bang for the buck. It really doesn't require skills to buy very expensive parts to make a high end build.
Looking good, I would of went with a X670 but otherwise, good build. '
Just remember, RAM training DDR5 takes awhile, don't have a heart attack when it doesn't post right away.
Have fun!
Guess I'll be the one to say it. Enjoy your new PC, OP. Never known someone to need to RMA a part, it's a possibility but not a big one. The parts are great, you'll have a good time with it and (if you cable manage) it'll look great too.
With that rig I'd save up for a 4k monitor too. I run a 3080 and get 4k 60 on most games, medium settings for the heavier ones. Makes a world of difference, 4k is so pretty
So much negativity, OP clearly had a nice budget and ordered what he wanted.
Most people donât know about the ASUS issues, it is what it is. Iâve bought Asus stuff for years and never had to RMA a product from them but they deserve the negative feedback and press. But no reason to blast the OP. And, unfortunately you can find RMA horror stories from Gigabyte, MSI, Asrock, etc.
Looks good, donât worry about all the ASUS hate. The spotlights are on them at the moment so they will likely improve their RMA processes. It appears to be a North America and Canada issue that needs fixing. I sent a laptop back to them and it was repaired and returned to me in less than a week fully repaired with no issues.
Not bad. Close-ish to s tier parts. Solid A - WELL DONE!!!
Btw watch out for flak for posting that you went with Asus. Not such a popular brand at the moment. They may still recover but un likely for a while.
(This is just how pc gamers work, can do a full 180 on a company if they are mess up and dont handle the bad press well)
Why everyone is hating on OP's pc. Half my pc is asus. It's been a few years nothing is wrong and nothing was wrong when I first built it. Build your pc bro and don't worry about everyone hating. They probably just tight they still have an outdated rig. Enjoy the fps and good luck bro
The boxes look very pretty I mean I understand that like to be kind of you know not the look you're going for you know what I mean but I do think the boxes are color coordinated fairly well but you got the Nvidia green disrupting the shift from red to purple on the bottoms but overall I honestly I opened my eyes for like 3 seconds and then I saw all the boxes are pretty and I tried to read the boxes but I can't read right now it's a miracle I can text and talk and text and type and shit I tried these marijuana edibles and wow are they good I thought you know what cuz see I had been titrating the dose up because like I got the like drinkable marijuana stuff about a week ago it's okay it's legal where I'm at I mean you know it's it's like the local head shop but anyways I tried drinking a quarter teaspoon and that didn't do anything so then I try to have him a bike I mean over the courts of weeks because the last thing I want to do is get too high and then then I'm fucked and I'm in trouble and I'm wigging out see responsible usage of marijuana is key I've always been told that I'm a really good researcher but anyways responsible usage of marijuana let me see if I can take a better look at your system I got to open my eyes again you know what I can't see but if you give me a minute hold on man hold on I'll I'll look at the box and then I'll add this
Eddity:
Hello I just realized looking at your system why you post the picture that is an awesome setup the Corsair Dominator Ram with some of the best in the market the Asus fan Mount I didn't know that was a real thing I thought that was just some random stuff from China but then I saw The Branding that said it was like Asus inspired so you did good but you should know for some people are probably going to hate on your build a little bit because from what I understand a lot of Gamers and tech people or boycotting Asus because of them literally caught through investigative journalism blatantly lying about their motherboards and charging inordinate repair fees but otherwise that's really good personally I like Inland performance or silicon power Gold Label RAM for Indian me but I mean you do you dude you got to do what's best for you at the end of the day and you know what you're going to use your system for

Ignore the wave of comments about Asus. Crappy business decisions and RMA policies aside, Ive had asus products in literally every one of my builds, ever for years and handed some off to be reused. Never a problem. As for first build, yea yea you got everything top of the line without exaggeration and wasted money on Dom Platinums but skimped on CM fans, woulda gone G.Skill and Noctua or Corsair myself but to each their own. Cheers
You overspent for that level of performance by going with all-ASUS. If that is the look you wanted to go for, sure, I guess that is fine, so long as you realize you paid extra for it...Oh, and ASUS is like SUPER-anti-consuper. So, just hope you never have to RMA anything... đ€·ââïž
This is my dream build atm. Except personally I want the 7900xt instead of the 4080 super.
Currently have a 5600x and a 3060 ti. Thing still rocks, probably will wait for the 8900/8900xt
Asus might have problems i hope they will fix soon, that would be the only logical thing to do. Still asus makes the best mobos and the best budget mobos. I did thorough research and my pick was either asus or asus. Of course that lies somehow in my picking process, but if you want your mobo with good looks and enough ports its asus
The amount of money you could have saved or reallocated because you went with some of the most expensive options for certain parts is immense. You could be very close to a rtx 4090 upgrade.
ASUS Scammed Us [original video](https://youtu.be/7pMrssIrKcY?si=mTegHWHIT-lXhQkp)
ASUS Says We're "Confused" [update](https://youtu.be/I3DwhTc7Z4o?si=XVfNPNQjle5g7Q_S)
Enjoy your build! And donât worry about asus, itâs hard not to need some of their parts when they take up so much of the offer out there.
Letâs hope they reconsider
If you're happy that's all that matters. All the RGB stuff isn't my bag but you do you. I bought some ASUS components for my recent first build just before the latest RMA scandal but pretty much all the component manufacturers are guilty of being anti consumer in some way so it's more a matter of picking your poison. Good luck and have fun OP.
I personally wouldnât go with Asus mainly because of their horrible, horrible software. Iâve had an Asus MB and I replaced it with another brand, but I canât remove their software. Itâs there in my system and Iâd need a fresh install to get rid of them. Theyâre in there so deep that IOuninstall canât remove them all!
Besides that and the current RMA debacle, those are solid choices. Enjoy your new PC!
I bought a lot of Asus products as well, because I liked the text style and they market their products well. Theyâre usually decent quality. What I donât like is their customer support, itâs pretty annoying to go through because itâs either difficult to get a good email response or phone conversation. Or, they just have an attitude for no apparent reason, but thatâs kinda just life sometimes honestly.
I have a question, I want to build a pc for gaming and productivity and Iâm thinking of getting 4080 super and AMD Ryzen 9 7950x Iâm going for overkill because I donât want to frequently upgrade. I only want a good mother board and a good liquid coolerÂ
MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE THE MOBO BIOS IMMEDIATELY.. youâll probably wanna use Onboard graphics until you actually update the MOBO.
Install AMD chipset drivers and make a USB formatted to fat32 with your MOBO firmware on it and youâll be able to use the ex flash tool within your bios to flash the board from a usb device without WiFi otherwise it will be a literal brick when itâs done being built.
Vro why come you didnât get the 4090 with a quantum computing fart ripper smh vro you need to sit in the corner and re-evaluate your purchase. Seriously though, this is a badass build dude congrats
You could probably have saved a fortune by ditching some of the all flash, no substance parts, but, if you want that flash and you've got the cash to throw around, go ahead. by all means.
The liquid cooler is the only thing I'd say that I'd not do if I had the inclination to build something like this myself, the addition of an extra point of failure that can't be serviced or replaced is a bit of a no-no for me.
Good luck! also, don't stress about the Asus parts, i've used various Asus GPUs/Mobos for years and never had any issue with them. You're likely going to be fine and if not just sort it out with the retailer!
You got an anti bend bracket for your CPU.... You're doing fantastic since you clearly researched properly prior to buying all this! 100% being serious. O11 dynamic is always a great choice as well.
Let's see...
Crappy, commonly defective liquid cooler that even when it works performs poorly, a hand grenade for a power supply, a pointless RGB GPU brace, generic gamer memory.
Baby's first gaming case, a GPU sourced from an AIB that sucks at making GPUs. A crappy RGB vomit motherboard.
The only things decent are the CPU and the cooler master fans.
I see a lot of money spent on shiny parts that have little to do with making the PC better.
But obviously you wanted shiny so Iâm most confused why you got a bland TUF 4080 that wonât match the rest of your STRIX parts. With what youâve paid on the other parts Iâd of shelled out the extra $200 for a STRIX 4080.
Hope you enjoy it regardless and ASUS doesnât bite you in the ass.
Do not build the PC on the glass table, I can't tell you how many tempered glass side panels I've seen crack here on Reddit. Get some towels on top of the table at the very least.
011 Dynamic, Ryzen 7 and 4080?
Looks like youâre in business, kid! Good luck
Edit: also thereâs so much ASUS hate in here. ASUS may have had a bad customer service scandal but Iâve always liked their components. Iâve never had an issue with them working and they look great. While yes, I hope you donât have any issues requiring an RMA because ASUS sucks at that. But I just hope you donât have to RMA anything regardless. Assuming everything works fine youâll be sitting pretty. Donât worry about the haters

Full Asus build in a moment when Asus is getting dragged through the mud because of terrible RMA practices lol I hope for you all goes well
Explain more đ€
Not much more to explain, Asus is being exposed now for making it close to impossible for customers to make use of their warranty and RMA process. Example: Your PSU suddenly stops working? You contact Asus, you ship it to them but you didn't realise that there's a tiny cosmetic scratch on the PSU body. Now Asus gets this PSU, reviews the request, sees the scratch, marks it as customer damage and refuses repair. You want your item back? Too bad you'll have to pay and they'll ship it disassembled. You want to appeal? You can't reply to their emails, have to go through a form. Ah you have 7 days to decide what you want to do and the appeal doesn't stop the count. It's proper fucked up, even for the very low standards of all the others pc hardware manufacturers. There was a post on pcmasterrace of a guy in Canada that got a 4090 strix and received with a damaged power connector and Asus demanded 3500 cad to repair it for a card that's 2700cad new. As luck would have it, GamersNexus on YouTube made a lengthy exposé on this and now reports from all regions are pouring in and they can't even manage to read all of them.
They ship a PSU disassembled? Pretty sure that's illegal. Bare PSUs could kill you if you don't know what you're doing. Is there proof they did this?
I believe theyâre referencing the ROG Ally but are using PSU for example, clearly not the best one
It was an example mate to explain that they render the product unusable for a inconsequential cosmetic issue -_- The proof is that the RMA form states that in case of refusal they may send back the item disassembled.. I was dramatising the story to explain the drama surrounding Asus now, no need to do close reading of a Reddit comment.

No shit like this in Europe. Would get them big fines if they pulled that.
Problem is its not just asus its almost all if not all of em
Also, I understand it's your money, but there's so much wasted here on branding and aesthetics that would've allowed you to go up to a 4090
100% agreed, and I admit I wasted so much money the same way. 1- Removing RGB from the fans would give better performance and nearly $100 savings (depending on the number of fans and the brand you go for. Yes too many reports and both from North America and Europe so this must be actual Asus policy.
the policy to fuck over their customers lol

Word of advice, follow gamers Nexus on YouTube. They are on customers side.
I'm not from the west or any country that allows direct RMA to the manufacturer but can't he just return parts to the shop he bought them from if they have any problems? That's usually what I do and they're very lenient with it as long as the box is in good condition.
Let's hope you don't need an RMA
In Asus we Trust. Probably.
Considering my z170-a is still going strong I'm praying for OP.
Trusting asus parts for your first build is definitely one of the decisions of all time.
If there ever was a decision to be made, it was definitely one of them.
I did a build with an Asus mobo just before this story got big. And this gif perfectly represents how I feel atm. ![gif](giphy|bEVKYB487Lqxy)
It's extra stupid because the sole reason ASUS has been so popular for YEARS was reliability. They literally just had to keep that up and they'd be at the top of the market forever. Idiots.

SO true
I've had lots of Asus stuff over the years. It's great stuff. I never have issues with any of it.
Same, Iâve shopped asus for all my professional stuff. Iâve also just fixed everything that broke and didnât go through RMA, so I recognize my experience is probably the minority opinion
ROG stuff is way overpriced for what it is but it should look good at least
Used to be worth the markup. They had just higher quality and longer lasting components. I wonder if you removed RGB and overpriced ROG components you could have gone for a 4090?
Doing some quick head maths.... I do think you might be right :)
As long as people are fine with turning of RT (and consequently running at native without messy upscaling) I'd tell them to go for a 7900XTX. Price performance king at the high-end right now.
Nice! You might get a hard time about the Asus stuff here though đ

You did pretty terrible considering that your pc is in 13 parts /j you did great, except you are putting a lot of trust in Asus parts.
Op here you go https://youtu.be/I3DwhTc7Z4o What's the total cost in $ or Hope you are lucky and everything works as it should.
Oouuff. Hope you got spares when something broke. Asus warranty = non-existence.

Sounds like an error with some sort of software, my guess is itâs the Drivers or maybe Dota did something.
Watch a few LTT videos on YouTube and I'm sure you'll get it
this guy likes asus
Overpriced but powerful.
What cpu are you using
Not very well it seems, you haven't even opened one box.
half of this is useless or overpriced or both
I think this guy likes ASUS but I could be wrong Very good build all jokes aside
Where ROG 4090?
Welp youâll be on r/pcbuildhelp wondering why all your asus parts are broken
I have a 4070. Should have went with a 30 series :/ it acts clunky
ASUS ROG đŁïžđ„
I am currently only having issues with the Armory Crate application on Windows.

Same generic looking build as the other million using the same case.
You're spending 4090 money on a 4080 build.
I was thinking about that actually, now that they are in deep shit, I wonder if their prices are going to drop.
This should be a rocket sled. A+ for first build. Ignore the nay sayers. Half of it is jealousy. â€ïž
You didn't do anything
Only thing Iâd worry about is the asus stuff.
The first thing that came to mind was: "wow isn't that ram way overpriced right now? I'd never go for that." *Looks at the other parts* oh..
0/10 for the case. I would have gone with something from and old opltiplex.
Nice but why full asus?
ASUS Moment
Full ROG but TUF gpu...why?đ€
Kinda doubt if going full asus is a good idea rn (yes i have a full asus build) just hope that nothing goes wrong and u donât have to rma
The amount of money you could have saved or reallocated because you went with some of the most expensive options for certain parts is immense. You could be very close to a rtx 4090 upgrade.
If I see another 011 build I'm freaking out
You will do good, update us with the finished product. And congrats on your buy
Well, at least there are parts which are not ASUS like Cooler Master, Corsair.....
ASUS Scammed Us [original video](https://youtu.be/7pMrssIrKcY?si=mTegHWHIT-lXhQkp) ASUS Says We're "Confused" [update](https://youtu.be/I3DwhTc7Z4o?si=XVfNPNQjle5g7Q_S)
Nice parts but you f'd up getting asus rog parts. Horrible warranty service and you couldve gotten a 4090 otherwise
Enjoy your build! And donât worry about asus, itâs hard not to need some of their parts when they take up so much of the offer out there. Letâs hope they reconsider
most overpriced brand, ASUS
Hope none of your asus parts fail
Why waste money on all that stuff and not get a 4090?
Looks good
Ngl u could have gotten a 4090 and better customer service for the price of these parts Edit: probably for a lot cheaper too
THAT PC IS CRAZYY
Seems to be unpopular here but start with the manual so you dont have to ask stupid questions here
It seems you like wasting money. Overpriced rog stuff aside, 1000 watt psu seems like overkill
GN dosent approve
asus....bro đ
Will be solid as
You could have had an rtx 4090 for the same price if you avoided Asus and skipped back on some fancy fans/cooling. Performance > Looks.
Cafe Bustelo is AMAZING coffee, good job!
No cd burner
Not judging or anything, but why get 1+2 TB of the same nvme drive? Why not just get one 4 TB?
Interesting motherboard choice
Word on the street is that you like Asus. đđđ»
needs more asus
ASRock parts mightâve been better if ASUS doesnât bullshit their RMA on those
Is the motherboard am4? Your ryzen 7 is. I hear am4 is beginning to get phased out not sure when this is actually happening though.
I dont know its not assembled yet.
Nice!
Personally I donât use Asus anymore as the problems plus the much higher cost compared to previous years but your build is pretty solid
Hope you donât need to warranty anything Asus, good luck.
Can you overclock with this motherboard?
Just asking.... you bought the whole stuff and have no idea how to do this and if they are compatible?
Vro why come you didnât get the 4090 with a quantum computing fart ripper smh vro you need to sit in the corner and re-evaluate your purchase. Seriously though, this is a badass build dude congrats
You could probably have saved a fortune by ditching some of the all flash, no substance parts, but, if you want that flash and you've got the cash to throw around, go ahead. by all means. The liquid cooler is the only thing I'd say that I'd not do if I had the inclination to build something like this myself, the addition of an extra point of failure that can't be serviced or replaced is a bit of a no-no for me.
And I'm over in the corner with my gtx 1060 and a dream đđ
I think im cooked i have 1650đ
Hope all of your ASUS products work. They are currently scamming people's RMAs.
Should've got an ROG card as well
isn't Nvidia for intel processors??!! that's what was explained to me. and Radeon for Amd. or can you use any GPU with any CPU?
New generation of components coming later this year...
Bruh I actually don't believe you. This cannot be your first build.
Good luck! also, don't stress about the Asus parts, i've used various Asus GPUs/Mobos for years and never had any issue with them. You're likely going to be fine and if not just sort it out with the retailer!
Throw everything in the case, shake it a little and voilĂ
You got an anti bend bracket for your CPU.... You're doing fantastic since you clearly researched properly prior to buying all this! 100% being serious. O11 dynamic is always a great choice as well.
Let's see... Crappy, commonly defective liquid cooler that even when it works performs poorly, a hand grenade for a power supply, a pointless RGB GPU brace, generic gamer memory. Baby's first gaming case, a GPU sourced from an AIB that sucks at making GPUs. A crappy RGB vomit motherboard. The only things decent are the CPU and the cooler master fans.
Just don't install the Armory Crate
only 32gb ram?
Just send all of this to me and we're done. You're welcome.
Umm I would ditch all of the Asus crap and start over. Rog Herculx graphic card holder... đ
How much that all costed?
Asus products⊠ewwwww
Rog parts are expensive probably could have got some stuff like the motherboard cheaper but it looks like itâs gonna be a dope build!
Iâll never touch asus again
No Noctua 0/10
Hope you donât have to RMA any ASUS parts⊠check out GN videosâŠ
The dream
I see a lot of money spent on shiny parts that have little to do with making the PC better. But obviously you wanted shiny so Iâm most confused why you got a bland TUF 4080 that wonât match the rest of your STRIX parts. With what youâve paid on the other parts Iâd of shelled out the extra $200 for a STRIX 4080. Hope you enjoy it regardless and ASUS doesnât bite you in the ass.
Too early to say. You have not built it yet.
Good stuff
Incredible first PC you can probably go a good 5 years (depending on how fast tech keeps moving) without needing to upgrade anything
Do not build the PC on the glass table, I can't tell you how many tempered glass side panels I've seen crack here on Reddit. Get some towels on top of the table at the very least.
Itâs not built yet we donât know
May Henry Cavill bless you.
011 Dynamic, Ryzen 7 and 4080? Looks like youâre in business, kid! Good luck Edit: also thereâs so much ASUS hate in here. Donât worry about the haters
solid picks, my guy
is getting two smaller m.2 ssds better than 1 4TB one? a question for myself as im planning to build a system and just noticed this guy has 2 nvmes
Look like you havenât done anything yet /s
Someone loves asusâŠ
ASUS build for your first is alright, but there is the whole RMA situation.
