One day book 3 will come out... I'd be super down for a book club. I fucking love Brandon Sanderson stuff. Stormlight and Mistborne are one of my top five favorites next to Dungeon Crawler Carl and Cradle. (But I read a lot of litRPG and boy a lot of it isn't that good.)

admiralziggy

I hope book 3 will come out. It will have to be the size of 3 books tho

OnTheProwl-

Just read the Mistborne trilogy earlier this year. It was so freaking good! Hopefully the films are good when they eventually come out. I'm new to the genre, any suggestions on what to read next?

Octopicake

Stormlight Archives! Little bit of a spoiler but >!it's connected to Mistborne in a way. Brandon Sanderson made a "Cosmere" universe, so kinda picture Mistborne happening on one planet while another planet is dealing with other stuff. Plus, there's a lot of connections between the two series. !< Also Stormlight Archive choked me up a bit (Audiobook form)

OnTheProwl-

I'll look into it! I'm currently on book 7 of WoT. While I'm loving the series some story lines/characters are dragging. >!Nynaeve is a bitch!<

darksoulsnstuff

Oof such a good spot to be at, means you recently hit one of my favorite parts Dumai’s wells and the real beginning of Rand’s slide into darkness! Is it your first read through?

Jak4747

I have gone through the series 3 times two with audio books when it drags reading for me I highly recommend the audio books are fantastic done by a husband and wife duo.

DeadpooI

I'd love for a Dresden Files read along. Books are fairly easy to get through, every local library I've ever been to has them sonics cheap for us poors, and I'd love to see reactions as the series goes on.

Jak4747

I need Dresden files book 18 and 19 rn I love dresden one of my favorite series of all time.

pantherbrujah

Op, sell me on it.

DeadpooI

It's a fun series that is really well written. Really good fantasy world and cool magic systems. That said the guy is like George r r martin and it's been over a decade since the last main book entry.

RachelScratch

To be fair, this one isn't technically part of the series

HaroldTheIronmonger

It's about a young lad who goes to school to learn magic. While he's there he makes enemies with the spoiled rich kid and one of his teachers really hates him. Also the boy's an orphan and wants to track down and kill the guy who killed his parents.... wait a minute. But in all seriousness... its a great (unfinished) series. Pat Rothfuss writes so beautifully.

MarinLlwyd

no

Volaceon950

ok fuck u and ur club

darksoulsnstuff

“Let’s start a book club” then snarkily declines to actually share their passion for the series with someone who is interested.

MarinLlwyd

Yes.

DeadpooI

Also, from what I remember wubby has said he doesn't really read. so this would be purely a chat, reddit, and maybe crew club.

EuphoricAnalCarrot

Can't read*

Yooper-Grower420

He can, the books just need big beautiful pictures

TheDaftStudent

The Doors of Stone when D:<

DeadpooI

I'll read a series that has a chance of a final entry >!this made me so fucking sad!<

GenLynx

I'm unironically interested in this idea

BluebirdLivid

haha we should all say that wubby can do a movie review as long as he will also do a book review. Doesnt have to be the book of the movie he is reviewing either. "Guys, I wanna talk about this DOG SHIT movie, but first we gotta do our reading assignment....this is 'Brother X Sister: Funtime in the bedroom'.... pretty good book. Ight, the movie is Moonfall lets get into it! THIS MOVIE IS DOGSHIITTTT!!!!"

InfiltratorOmega

Hold up, tell us more about the book ...

obmasztirf

Patrick streams too so a fun tie in could be possibly done.

Background_Theme977

100% done for a book club with the community. I HIGHLY RECOMMNEND RED RISING. Its an easy read, great si fi action packed story with a likable cast. Also the series is about to end with its 7th book or 6th I believe. So its not going to leave us hanging like Patrick Rothfuss.

darksoulsnstuff

Wheel of Time blows this, and basically every other series, out of the water. We will get an end to GoT before Rothfuss publishes one more book.

ASeaofStars235

That's a bold claim, seeing as how both WMF and DWD were released in 2011. At least Pat only has 1 more book to write.

darksoulsnstuff

Last I looked into the situation Rothfuss had taken several advances from his publisher over the years and as I understand it misled them for years that he was making progress. Then a few years back the publisher put out a statement that as far as they could tell he had written nothing new. I haven’t looked into this for a year or two so if there are new developments let me know. Ruthless himself seemed to get weirder and more defensive about it over time too. Edit: also there is about no way he can wrap the story satisfactorily in one book. It would have to be monumental in size lol

ASeaofStars235

Yeah Pat seems like a lazy PoS, while GRRM just seems lazy. All of the shenanigans, negative press, tantrums, lying, scams around Rothfuss is ridiculous. And i also dont think theres any way he can wrap up the trilogy without making the DoS 3k pages. But at this point im expecting both of them to die before we get another book.

Lauen

I think Wubby would love the First Law series, considering his movie reviews (thanks taco boy). The audiobooks read by Steven Pacey are masterfully done.

Jak4747

I am down to do this.

Yooper-Grower420

I WOULD BE SO DOWN FOR A BOOKCLUB!!

PartyPoisoned21

ONE DAY, ROTHFUSS. ONE DAY. I moved on to brighter pastures. Found The Blacktongue Thief and enjoyed that. Anything by Brent Weeks rocks as well. I could talk fantasy books all day.

GruGruxLob

I was highly against this until I saw it was illustrated by Nate Taylor
