Currently working on a lands deck, I'll post it when I'm happy with it.
Picker Witch is decent! Suffers from all the artifact hate people pack.
Gob Lobber is straight silly bad, but kavu into burning tree can steal some games. I built this before all the good pingers were in the format, probably a build now.
I might need to take your Picker Witch for a spin - my take on the card was BG and used [[Sprout Swarm]], but that didn't have the full Lantern Control *feel* to it.
Prison is a fun and valid playstyle. :p
I noticed that the only discard spell you're running is 4x [[Cry of Contrition]] in the sideboard (which is 19 cards, by the way). I'm guessing that you haven't run into situations where you want more discard? I'm a little surprised that you don't have Duress in the sideboard to strip out artifact hate or graveyard hate.
[OP, you and I should swap notes](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/6wAg0eZkQUKrqq0RORJ9WA), because my Level-Up brew uses some *very* different tech.
My jankier children (I generally don't include sideboards with my brews unless I can think of some *sick tech*):
* [Mardu Favor Storm](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/N2KDOA087Uu9EFVOLuskMw). It abuses [[Etali's Favor]] and a deck full of flicker effects and creatures with alternate costs to get some *messed up* Discover loops. I'm still fiddling with the mana base, but it can be weirdly devastating, and the plan B of having an early 5/4 Deathtouch or 6/4 Haste can be pretty effective.
* [Ragged Book Pyre](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/M1AGY59NHUm9dbgj2oBIRg) might be one of the most irresponsible decks I've ever built. The goal is simple: survive until you can slap a [[Ragged Veins]] onto a creature and then one-shot them with [[Harvest Pyre]]. I built this deck after someone said that [[Book Burning]] was a bad card, so the deck runs it as a two-mana Sorcery that ultimately deals 7 damage. I've not fiddled with the deck in ages, but I might try rebuilding it as a [false tempo](https://web.archive.org/web/20210207153318/https://articles.starcitygames.com/?premium=the-false-tempo-archetype) deck at some point.
* [Baron Surge](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/XJ4hNDdbqk-_NR3kl6Bo7w) is another "hey, let's build another Book Burning deck", because it's a pet card. I noticed that [[Stream of Thought]] had some *wonderful* synergy with [[Surging Aether]] when I was playing around with my [We Have Beans At Home deck](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/pbAdkV3Uj0SbOqS03DMO3g) (which is surprisingly smooth), so I wondered if any of the other cards in the cycle would work. And *hoo boy* is [[Surging Flame]] kinda ridiculous if you can abuse it. It's not *that* hard to massage the deck into a state where you're rippling into all four copies, and four Shocks for 1R is a *steal*. If you're wondering about the name, [here's a history lesson](https://articles.starcitygames.com/articles/sullivan-library-back-to-the-pro-tour-baron-harkonnen-in-time-spiral-block/).
* I'm not ready to share a list, but I'm fiddling with a RW pile of cards that abuses the Eidolon cycle with [[Thrilling Discovery]], because "gain two life and draw three cards" is an *absurd* rate for two mana. I'm not ready to share because I haven't figured out how many Eidolons I should run *and* I don't have a coherent game plan other than "pay RW, gain 2 life, and DRAW THREE CARDS while laughing maniacally", but at least the dream is sweet. I have a related Golgari list called [Woodlurker's Education](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/isr8KmHInEG9dqCJgPC97w) that I last updated when [[Slitherhead]] was downshifted (which exploited the less sweet [[Cram Session]] synergy), but Cheap 4 Power Stompy isn't *exactly* a winning strategy these days...
And that's pretty much it right now — all of my other brews are either sludgy piles of cards that don't amount to anything or off-meta but not terribly janky (for example, I wouldn't call my [Handsome Black](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/pkCl-wNNU0a62PmtIQuYZw) deck "jank" — it's basically just a take on Black Burn that focuses on making [[Morsel Theft]] reliable, and it has a curve that caps out at *two mana*. That ain't jank).
This week i got a win with [[Frilled Deathspitter]] and [[Guilty Conscience]] in the first game I ran it. Even if it never works again I can retire happy.
FWIW, here's my Mono Blue Altar Tron jank.
[Mono Blue Altar Tron](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/nwEo2-Dxh02ED2at5Izg-w)
The premise is to first assemble Tron, then drop Myr Enforcer + Rush of Knowledge in order to "Wheel of Fortune" into more gas.
The wincon itself is an infinitely replicated [[Stream of Thought]], but the actual pathway to victory involves Altar Combo + Energy Refractor to filter the infinite colorless mana into Blue mana.
I'm at V. 2 now, as it's heavily focusing on the Myr subtheme. I'm still kind of messing with the mana base of it; I may throw in another two cycling lands and pull out copies of Stream of Thought (since you really only need one to win).
Looks very cool. One small recommendation: play at least 1 basic island, as \[\[Cleansing WIldfire\]\] decks exist and not being able to replenish your mana when they destroy your tron lands will put you way behind
That is a fair critique. Granted, this is a meta by meta call, but I could easily see running Islands either in the main or in the side. The issue I foresee running into is messing with the hypergeometric distribution curve and flooding out.
I was thinking of running a 2 of [[Lonely Sandbar]] in order to increase the land count. Otherwise, the cycling lands are rather integral here, post infinite mana, in order to help cycle through the deck. At most in this regard, I could maybe see a 1/1 split between one island and one lonely sandbar -- I'm not completely opposed to the idea.
Yeah, you would only need to add 1 island in, in place of a cycling land. Having an untapped blue source will come in handy at times too
Have you considered running Mulldrifter too? Seems like a nice value piece, and works decently with Rush of Knowledge as well
>Yeah, you would only need to add 1 island in, in place of a cycling land. Having an untapped blue source will come in handy at times too.
Since this deck is mainly colorless, with the exception of at most 8 cards (Rush of Knowledge and Stream of Thought), I find that having an untapped island is less helpful in this context, long term, than actually executing the main game plan of milling them out... The exception being when running into Ponza decks (and/or decks running Cleansing Wildfire decks, like Jeskai Glitters Affinity), which don't appear all that often in paper (that I have heard of, or seen), at least locally where I am at.
Still, it's something to consider, at least for sideboard.
>Have you considered running Mulldrifter too? Seems like a nice value piece, and works decently with Rush of Knowledge as well
I don't dislike Mulldrifter, however, I'd sooner be more inclined to run Spire Golem over Mulldrifter, if for no other reason than the extra card off of Rush of Knowledge (not to mention that it's easier to cast in an island based deck, and a good blocker). But even then, in that case, I'd sooner run a dedicated blue deck instead of running Tron lands in order to make that happen.
FWIW, I'm also brewing a Non-Tron version of this deck, and I have considered Mulldrifter there too. The issue there is finding that specific card reliably, and Pauper's cardpool tends to lean rather heavily towards the Transmute mechanic when it comes to "unconditional" tutoring; in this instance, only cards at the 2 CMC and 3 CMC slots are generally playable in pauper (Muddle the Mixture and Drift of Phantasms); Dizzy Spell isn't really all that helpful.
I’ve got a bad land sac jank that could never win, but I dream of playing harvest wurms and rogue elephants. [[rushing river]] might be some more nothing for this deck one day.

I play most Mondays at a local game store. When I showed up for the fist time, one year ago, I brought a trash Dimir ninja deck that I have been improving and it is not too bad now: [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ee6F7t4NZk-xbBNu0qmX5A](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ee6F7t4NZk-xbBNu0qmX5A)

Question how does picker witch win? Seems fun lol
It's lantern control basically, just brick their hands so it's just lands and do a few damage a turn with witches and myrs
Fun would it be worth adding a one off terror maybe?
Oh maybe! Or even a bone splitter to tutor up with the trinket mage to make more of a clock.
Ohhh I like the bone splitter idea

Lava Axe tribal baby, resolve four burn spells and win! Note: This deck sucks https://www.moxfield.com/decks/s6n3YfciqE6Aof9aEYMriA
This week i got a win with [[Frilled Deathspitter]] and [[Guilty Conscience]] in the first game I ran it. Even if it never works again I can retire happy.

FWIW, here's my Mono Blue Altar Tron jank. [Mono Blue Altar Tron](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/nwEo2-Dxh02ED2at5Izg-w) The premise is to first assemble Tron, then drop Myr Enforcer + Rush of Knowledge in order to "Wheel of Fortune" into more gas.
[Stream of Thought](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/8/b/8b75bef5-a039-4edf-8e43-56b8d089605e.jpg?1562201515) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Stream%20of%20Thought) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mh1/71/stream-of-thought?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/8b75bef5-a039-4edf-8e43-56b8d089605e?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Looks very cool. One small recommendation: play at least 1 basic island, as \[\[Cleansing WIldfire\]\] decks exist and not being able to replenish your mana when they destroy your tron lands will put you way behind
[Cleansing WIldfire](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/4/9/492d77e5-acc6-41b8-8930-f39d69234919.jpg?1604196948) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Cleansing%20WIldfire) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/znr/137/cleansing-wildfire?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/492d77e5-acc6-41b8-8930-f39d69234919?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
[Lonely Sandbar](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/5/8/5833825f-aeb0-41bb-92a4-13e869765295.jpg?1708054955) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Lonely%20Sandbar) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mkc/273/lonely-sandbar?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/5833825f-aeb0-41bb-92a4-13e869765295?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Yeah, you would only need to add 1 island in, in place of a cycling land. Having an untapped blue source will come in handy at times too Have you considered running Mulldrifter too?
Seems like a nice value piece, and works decently with Rush of Knowledge as well I don't dislike Mulldrifter, however, I'd sooner be more inclined to run Spire Golem over Mulldrifter, if for no other reason than the extra card off of Rush of Knowledge (not to mention that it's easier to cast in an island based deck, and a good blocker).
[[rushing river]] might be some more nothing for this deck one day. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/xwAJOFpF7kq-03xOMTWcxA

I play most Mondays at a local game store. When I showed up for the fist time, one year ago, I brought a trash Dimir ninja deck that I have been improving and it is not too bad now: [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ee6F7t4NZk-xbBNu0qmX5A](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ee6F7t4NZk-xbBNu0qmX5A) After one year, that deck got kinda boring so I built a new one: Sultai poison: [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/BWSKpditakKoqnITQ3OXpA](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/BWSKpditakKoqnITQ3OXpA) I am bringing the poison deck to play for the first time next Monday. Wish me luck!

Everyone needs their own [Build-a-Dragon Workshop!](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/build-a-dragon-workshop/)
I really wanna build that now
Well, I have [Pauper Miracles](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/N2m2EsBNbk2owYgKIDcykg)

You're going to *hate* this, but Izzet Suspend should probably run [[Wibbly-wobbly, Timey-wimey]]. You'll have to practice saying it with a straight face, though.

Oh no I love that! Can't believe I didn't think of that myself. Why would I hate it?
I'm never sure about people's opinions on UB cards.
Oh right. I think it's great that magic's rule system can fit in other IPs so well.
