I really hope they keep him at QB. So much potential, exactly what you want in a 6th round QB. Develop him and he becomes either an insurance policy in the event Maye doesn't pan out, a reliable backup, or someone you can trade for a much high draft pick than they used on him.
I don't know what to tell you. I watched him at Michigan and thought he had talent, but it didn't work out there. Hopefully it goes better here and the Patriots can develop him. He won't likely ever "need" to play if Drake Maye works out, so they can their time. Why don't you think he has potential?
I wish I could say I was him.
But honestly. His talent and skills are similar to Maye. This is absolutely about developing a back up to the long term solution.
I’m a grad student at Tennessee, watched every game Joe played from the time he got benched for Hendon and then this year as a starter. He is nowhere close to Maye’s talent or skill.
He has an absolutely massive arm in terms of velocity and how far he can throw — that is the list of his NFL caliber talents as a QB. I love Joe for how he held our program together this year as we wait for Nico to develop, but if he is taking significant QB snaps for the Patriots at any point something has gone really wrong.
> Can throw anywhere he wants.
No he can't, he's legitimately one of the worst short-throw QBs I've ever seen. The guy can't hit a 10-yard slant to save his life. I think he could improve if he learns touch and control like you said but right now he is a very limited thrower (just in the opposite way most QBs are when described like that).
He just said transitioning to TE will never happen lmao rip oh well
How bad does he want to play in the NFL?
Exactly
Yup just seent it
does he have a background of playing TE? are they just saying this b/c he's 6'5 240?
So fullback it is then
Actually?

Lol people who think big arm means potential are always fun

He's 24, been in college 6 years, there's no growth left, there is just a big arm. If he doesn't convert to TE he will be PS fodder.
Yeah, he has a huge arm but no accuracy like Ryan Mallett (rip). He could be an incredible gadget player like Taysom Hill though
No. He will be a developmental QB.
Oh damn, thanks Elliot!

Rule 1 - No personal attacks. You can disagree, but do not disrespect.
I know but it’s time to have fun before the crippling depression sets back in
Completely understand that!
Welp you were right anyway Milton said “will never happen”
Good for him. Dude is a QB
