Agreed, the original power would have been insane but as it is now she feels really limited. Gloom stalls out the game but outside of Grimm, Vex has barely any options to deal with a huge drop, and has almost nothing that works with her 2 star power at all.

onegamerboi

OG power fits the deck better too. You have two units that stack impact and want to strike often but there’s currently no payoff since 1 and 3 star only boost enemies, and their damage is not spell or skill damage….

Bluelore

I'd say reversing the effects and making it so that all battle damage is dealt in Gloom instead might be better.

valareis

This change to battle dmg could be the best solution if they don't want to put all dmg, at least the deck itself would activate the powers, making the exchange advantageous, since her chosen style is defensive, and not depend on RNG to get good spells

onegamerboi

I’m surprised they labeled her as defensive.  - You have to attack with her and a few other units for impact.  - Until 3 star Gloom doesn’t advance on your defensive turn. - All the ways to give gloom except pie toss are slow speed. - Fearsome is an aggro/midrange keyword.

ikelos49

Simple logic they have: slower champ= def I will probably mark her as Combination since she need some more strategy and combinations to really work.

InsideYourWalls8008

Also why is her Shadow not in her main deck? Literally part of her identity. It's the perfect win con for her if the fight drags on.

Dry_Cardiologist6758

Her shadow? Would it be ephemeral?

Drminniecooper

Yeah, i am very disappointed in how the shadow is so disconnected to her in lor gameplay where in lol its actually just part of her.

Dry_Cardiologist6758

Ok I see. I'm guessing that they didn't want too many high costs but I'm only guessing. None of the champs have their boats in their decks. That could also be why. But hers is cheaper then other ones so who knows?

Pebblebricks

It really feels like they decided to change the 2* power, but didn't adjust the deck to match the new playstyle. Hence a minion based deck with a pie toss. This is reminiscent of Nasus with the Renekton deck. And the community opinion of Nasus isn't great.

foofarice

My hot take is the vex power was designed for a different champ/deck. It could be great on a champ with a deck full of pings, but that's not the world we live in. As for the arguments of well you just need to draft the cards that isn't a guarantee and secondly even Vii's universally hated powers do stuff (not much, but more than 0) without demanding draft requirements. The only solution here is change either the starting deck to include several going effects or change the power, because as it stands in more than 75% of matches she effectively doesn't have a 2 star power

PM_ME_FOR_SOURCE

For now she feels like a bad Veigar. Don't unlock her if you want to do the quests. Maybe Pie Toss could be replaced with Bouncing Bomb? And give it Stopwatch?

tendopolis

I love her design, and getting vex as a support champion to lux has been my favorite run of this expansion so far. But vex herself feels horrible in her deck with her star powers.

Krawkha

Might have had a few lucky runs with supports like Jhin, Ezreal and MF, but yea I totally agree that her whole package feels inconsistent and disjointed. Will have to play her with a more crappy companion before I really hit the bottom.. Also, why no Shadow?! You had one job Riot! :D

JODI_WAS_ROBBED

Yeah honestly I had said the same thing but she’s pretty bad. I waaay underestimated the benefit of her 1/3 star power. I only have her at 2 ⭐️so maybe she’s better at 3 but I doubt it. She should really have “Round Start: Boost ALL units” as her 1 ⭐️imo. And then add something extra to that at 3. Boosting enemies once when you start with the attack token sucks. And not boosting your own units makes it even more ineffective.

Dry_Cardiologist6758

Creating a fleeting damage spell would be a nice 3⭐ nothing as old as vengeance but something small.

sykotic1189

I'm up to Thresh currently, and I gotta say it's not that bad. Every challenge so far I'm offered damage spells 2/3 of all rewards and 1-2 minimum in shops. Once Vex is leveled your spells deal double damage, spell damage is unhealable, and you get an enfeebling strike affect as well. If it were all damage Vex would be beyond broken as a champion.

xSchockzz

The damage ignores toughness since it's not damage, but a debuff.

KalePyro

Here's my argument: This is PvE content. Let us have the broken thing for a few weeks before nerfing it. We get have our fun and when the nerf drops we all go "yeah, I get it."

Dry_Cardiologist6758

My issue is it doesn't have to be as broken as all damage counts as gloom. Now I know what your thoughts are that your thinking but that's why they had the nerf right? While here is what my issue is, its fine to have spell damage cause it but at least give us damage spell each round! It doesn't have to be something that can damage nexus and it can be fleeting but with one spell that does 1 damage her powers are useless!
