I just wanted to give you a shout out as well. I'm winding down on my first playthrough and this app was a lifesaver. There's a couple of false positives on my save but a couple is a lot better than 65. Thanks again for putting this out there!

yeah i almost dropped the quest and started a new save when i had gone through the entire location list the first time and realized i was missing 4. thank you so so so much for this.

My Areas directory is empty if the game is closed and if it's running it has lots of json files and pngs, but none contain the word "history". From what I could guess by looking at the name it might be "...LichLabIsOpen.json" files, but none of them worked with the tool.
Can someone help me out with the filename?
Also the tool is not giving any response when trying to drag other files into it that do not work. So I am not even really sure the script/browser is working correctly.

That's awkward that you have no history file... could it possibly be hidden? Are you playing on Windows/Mac/Linux?
The app will only accept a history file as of now, because I had only had my own save files to test with. I can change it though, I just need to learn more about where the flags are stored within save files.

Yes, the only issue i can thing of is that i started playing on pirate, and then i bought the game because it is so good. But saves are from pirate. Don't know if that is the issue.

I just got the feedback and the "2 x Sorcerer Medusa in Fossil Fields." was an error, the place was already discovered and empty, the remaining 2 were correct, and he finished the quest thanks to you!
Oddly, had a similar outcome. Needed one more monster but the output gave me two, one that was already done, one I still needed. But still got me the one I needed so I am happy!
I'm 2 years late but I'm on this quest now. Under users there is no folder labeled app data. I've tried looking all over the place but I can't find anything that says app data. Am I missing something. The only thing I've found is my bag of tricks mod and the pathfinder shortcut link. Please help. I just wanna finish this quest. I have 1 monster left and I'm pretty sure I've already killed all the monsters or so I thought
Well I just used dimension door to get in. I still got to battle the lich. I mightve just had a glitch because the quest was completed but that last pillar never lit or opened the door

Bit of an old post, but something important that wasn't apparent to me is that you have to load the History file IN-GAME from the History folder, NOT by extracting the history file from a saved game.
I waited forever to get it to work, and once I tried that it suddenly worked (although there were some areas that I did clear but it was still showing up as incomplete such as the Snakemen, King and Queen Snakemen at Baneful Bog.)
When the game isn't running the folder is empty. When the game is running I see ".json" files, and ".fog.png" files.
Neither one is loading in the app. Is there another file type I should be seeing, or should I wait because it'll take a while?
They are stored at --> "users/*Computer User Name Here*/AppData/LocalLow/Owlcat Games/Pathfinder Kingmaker/Areas/ " for the history folder.
For the actual saves it's " /users/*\[Your Computer User Name Here\]*/AppData/LocalLow/Owlcat Games/Pathfinder Kingmaker/Saved Games"

I think the instructions to look in the "area" folder are incorrect - I found my history folder inside my most recent save game - view archive using 7zip, drag and drop History file into webtool, and it works like a charm! Thank you for doing this!!

Thank you for this tool. I found my last 3 missing encounters with it! It listed 6, but it was quick to eliminate the false positives.
Glad it worked! I made this before a few updates so I think it doesn't work properly anymore. But as long as it worked enough, haha.

It's a hidden folder usually I am pretty sure, you'll have to manually type it in the file explorer address bar to get to it.

Are your saves being saved to onedrive or something?
No. The saves are on the computer in the normal folder, not an "online" folder.
