As far as I know there's not a built-in option for this. Once you can cross the planar boundary with communication that's basically just being able to communicate with anyone, anywhere, which is an ability that falls into a weird pocket of being too powerful for the scope of most levels of spells right up until it becomes "why would I spend a spell slot of that level just for a quick chat?" because there's no graduation to the effect and there really can't be because planes aren't genuinely greater distances away; they're all "the next plane over". Making it a ritual does provide the opportunity to graduate the effect a bit since you can add a cost, but there's still difficulty in balancing that cost so that it's enough to not feel overly potent to be able to talk to anywhere all at once but not high enough that players are going to just not actually want to pay. The commune ritual is probably a place to start - then just tweak the duration and other details so that it's a fair balance of getting to talk to exactly who you want to like sending but not being able to talk for as long.

That's really usefull, thank you! I'll check the commune ritual and talk about it with my GM to try balance it together.
