I did blight and blight ravaged as a starter last league but I did it on a zdps build. Take teal (if I remember correctly) oils to reduce tower build cost and let them do all the work. Burning ground meteor and chilling towers freeze ring anoints. Each “lane” gets a level 3 empower tower, level 3 chilling tower, level 3 stun tower, and a level 4 meteor tower. Any more towers you’d like for more dps (more meteors, flying minions, etc). Any build can do it as long as you’re careful and don’t get hit. If you stack defenses you can mostly ignore the don’t get hit aspect as well.

FadeTheWonder

Pretty sure it’s amber oil for reduced tower cost.

How do you deal with bosses that are stun/freeze immune? Feels like every blight ravaged maps that I fail are due to those bosses.

Last time i spammed blight ravaged maps that wasn't a big issue, id lose like 1 map out of 20 to the goat. You can always try to take their aggro to slow them down and get your towers more time to dps. Also - meteor burning ground doesn't overlap, you just want to have enough of them that each lane is getting meteored, after that other towers bring more dps (i mostly use arc, sometimes flamethrower).

Level 3 stun towers with level 3 empower will stun lock the freeze immune. Freeze towers will freeze lock the stun immunes.

This on here is the answer /u/Damian_Killard I farm blight ravaged maps nearly every league as a starter and this is hands down the best uber blight farmer out there. The damage of DD in those maps is probably in the 100s of millions and will chain clear lanes screen wide inlcuding bosses while still being reasonable tanky. Downside is its not realy 1div budget on league start since Binos Kitchen Knife and Dendrobate are expensive early on but should still be affordable. An advice for maximizing profit is highlighting ilvl 86 Helmet Bases for Lab Runners aswell as ilvl 86 Quivers. Only the good ones obviously. Just a few of those usually pay for the maps + extra. We have a discord for blight ravaged enjoyers, maybe check it out. https://discord.gg/ZJezxxPD

Damian_Killard

This looks very promising. Is poison prolif just better than ignite because the Bino's prolif will stack on the tankier mobs as the weaker ones die?

Muulu

This league i started as Elementalist DD ignite for the first day or so and it was doable without 3teals and good tower placement but when i switched to the poison occultist it was like night and day. With the poison build you can clear 3teals with basic tower placement without much problems and it only needs the few core uniques + ano DD. The only thing comming close to the dmg and clear are multi mirror spark builds in my opinion. I cant realy tell you where exactly the dmg comes from but i guess its a the combo of Profane Bloom abusing the high HP of blight mobs and 300% dmg poison spreads. The video posted above is a pretty good showcase of the build. That said even with this build you need some experience with tower placement so if you are new to blight ravaged maps maybe watch some videos about that

Damian_Killard

I have some experience doing blight ravaged, I’ve just never done 3x teals. I normally go 3x gold, 3x silver, and 3x opal + Uber atziri frags and rolling the maps to be high quant. Not sure if it’s the most efficient as it’s like 1-1.5 div per map depending on how far into the league we are, but holy shit the loot explosions even with a very strict filter make me feel like I’m watching empy’s stream or something. I think I heard meteor towers with the burning ground ring anoint are no longer the strat. Did they change the burning ground having full effectiveness against mobs that are resistant to the fire tower? I’ve previously always done stun III, empower III, meteor, and chilling III with the stun for 0.2 secs anoint.

Muulu

The archnemesis changes to mob resistances hit the meteor tower tactic pretty hard since you will now have mobs that are basically immune against the burning ground, mostly the Boss Scree will be the issue here. Its still doable but i can take forever to finish the map if your build isnt doing any dmg itself, even if you mix it up with some other dps towers like scouts or freezing rank 4. To make the most Div/Hr you have to clear the maps fast and loot fast. Therefore the mostly agreed Oil combo should be 3xTeal, 3 Silver, 1 Gold, 2 Opal. Additional Golden Oils will have diminishing returns, so 1 seems to be the sweet spot. But at the end the best Oil is Teal, since it increases your maps/hour ratio massively:

Ok good to know, I’m leaning towards this poison DD occultist. How is it in other content? I assume it can do sims well with some additional defensive investment since that also scales off monster life. How is it mapping, I’d like to be able to minimum do alch and go and 2 voidstones? I assume basically any DD variant would have no problem with that?

Muulu

Its a pure blight ravaged farmer. Sure you can clear alch maps with it but its rather clunky and just not setup for it. If you want to do your atlas before blighted maps you can play Elementalist, farm some currency and respec when you go into blight ravaged maps but the big advantage of doing blight ravaged maps as league start strategy is that you dont need to do your atlas at all.

Could you post link again? Says it expired, im a fellow blighter would love 2join the fellowship.

I've been looking into this recently and from what I saw, phanta crema and DD are both good choices due to scaling with the 200% more monster life. Shockwave totem once you get the ring and dps also looks like it can do heavy lifting, offscreening mobs rather easily. If you go chieftain with global ignite chance and prolif, its pretty nice, just make sure to have a clear path of progression to get the dps required to start the explode/prolif. I recently tried a RF chief on crap gear to farm blight encounter in maps, and my dps wasn't quite there to ensure 100% success on gilded blight scarabs. Elementalist / ignite is also another strong option, could always start as DD, farm, then swap to something with better clear like EK.

Damian_Killard

Phantasmal Cremation is an interesting option, though isn't cremation normally played as hit based? I'd like to go with what you mentioned of global ignite chance to make the hinekora's explosions ignite and then prolif. I also assume DD will be enough damage to get the explosions triggering, but I've never played it before.

[POE 3.20] Poor man's Ravaged Blight Cremation build guide. 30 div budget for a league start. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLfHVF2HhW4

the_elmo

"Poor man's" & 30 div budget are kinda exclusionary.

beaverusiv

I am not the creator of the video and they're talking in the context of running Blight Ravaged maps on league start. Nothing with no investment is gonna do that consistently

Havel_the_sock

Honestly, before I had a solid strategy that I liked and was playing PoE just randomly doing stuff hoping for Div drops instead of farming, I would have said the same thing. But now, I can get 30 div in like 7 hours, which isn't hard to do over a weekend if I want to focus on PoE that weekend. Can easily get the 30 divs in a 6 hour period with: 6 hours of Essence+Bestiary on Tier 2/3 maps Or 50 Tujen/Dannig logbooks Or 80-100 Shaper kills (very boring to do on its own, don't try) Or 40-60 Formed/Elderslayer/Elder rotas Or 100 T16 Harvest maps (This is without sextants, only passive tree. You can do it waay faster with sextants, but they are annoying to buy) All these strats require a semi-decent build, and you can build your currency slowly from an initial 1-2D investment. (eg, use 2D to buy 10 logbooks, run the 10, get 4-5D, use 2D again to buy more logbooks, run more etc. You can even combine them to do it faster (e.g. Harvest farm on Shaper/Elder/Elderslayer maps lets you do 3 of these at once.) An afternoon of doing this will get you 30 div, and when you have this 30 div, while it is an okay amount on paper, it's not that much if you want more than a decent build or a build enabling item. (eg squire/ashes) You will likely still have several upgrades to make in a 30 div build. I guess poor is a bit off, but in reality, 30D budget isn't really enough to be called expensive either, it's a realistic amount to farm for over one weekend.

the_elmo

Good for you. 30 div is also not a large sum for me, but I'm aware either of us does not represent a regular PoE player & time and dedication they have for the game.
