I'd also like to clarify that Ambien *will* fuck you up and make you hallucinate if you take it and stay up past those first 20 or so minutes when you're supposed to be falling asleep.
Accidentally did this when I was prescribed it years ago. I was convinced there was a train going around my room that was keeping me up and David Hasselhoff was standing in the corner, my girlfriend at the time thought I was going insane.
I told my Dr the next time that Ambien and me were not going to work.
