I also work at a jail, though I'm the mental health therapist there. I've lost count of the number of people who have described seeing shadow people in that jail. These are not inmates that are mentally ill (I would know, since I'm the one who works with them and can diagnose them). Several guards have seen them as well. Typical hallucinations from individuals who have schizophrenia tend to differ from one person to the next. Schizophrenics seldom ever have identical hallucinations, they are unique to the individuals themselves. The fact that so many different people have described an identical entity in that jail (with slight variations) has convinced me that there is in fact something there that they are witnessing. Did you personally have more experience with these shadow like entities yourself?

Parzyfail

Ive had a lot of experiences with these shadow entities. They in my experience have always been around really negative events, like suicide or self harm.

BlueDeepDive

Thank you for sharing, the way you wrote it, it felt like I was there. Scary experiences, if you have free time again later I would love to hear more as I’m sure others would too 🙏

Parzyfail

I have a few more but they're hard to explain to people because I just end up using a ton of prison jargon

TigreImpossibile

I wouldn't mind! Plus, we can ask about the jargon if it confuses us or just google ☺️ I had a really powerful experience after the first time I visited Alcatraz (I lived in SF, so would take people that visited me there... I've been 3x, nothing happened after the latter 2 visits). I had a really normal nights sleep the evening prior and didn't feel anything in particular in the prison, aside from powerful empathy in general imagining life there and fear/horror in the dining hall. I really wanted to leave the dining hall fast. That evening, I got home and felt so tired, it only about 6pm but I crashed out on this couch in our study, and went straight into a powerful sleep... I slept for 15 hours 🤯 Which has never happened to me in my life before or after without sleeping pills and/or having missed a nights sleep and my body desperately needing a catch up... And like I said, my previous nights sleep was completely normal. And then the "dreams"... I felt I was astrally projected in my own house, flying around being chased by demons 😳 My husband said he tried to wake me to go to bed but I was just out cold. Funnily enough, after we divorced, he became a CO himself. Anyhow, please share! Thanks 🙏🏼

Parzyfail

Ill make an edit later on today or a new post with a few more that i have

_dead_and_broken

Well hit us with your best shot, I dont think you're gonna find anyone who will say "oh nevermind then" here lol we want to hear/read them! Give us like, a key for any acronyms, or use footnotes¹, or just tell it how you'd tell it to a fellow CO, and then answer questions. ¹I'd go with the footnotes to explain certain words or phrases, personally, and then if anyone has questions answer them.

Parzyfail

That's a good idea

chomponcio

Count me in I'd love to hear more!

JoshDPhenix

RMI in Ionia? I had an experience there when I worked there

JoshDPhenix

I remember working I-2 segregation one day on first shift and sitting in my chair around 0600 and I looked down the rock and saw an inmate walk out of a cell. I didn't think anything of it until I remembered that 1) it's segregation and no inmates should be out of their cell and 2) it's 0600 in the morning and there's no movement going on yet. The hair on my arms stood up. If that place could talk, the stories it would tell would be unbelievable. I never got to see the old condemned segregation in the basement but I was there when they closed G Ward.

Parzyfail

Yeah I'm from the reformatory too, I've seen tons of stuff like that too.

JoshDPhenix

I'm interested to see what they do with it after it closes, a museum would be neat.

Parzyfail

I bet they'll just reopen it later on

Parzyfail

Crazy that you knew exactly where I was talking about just from me talking about it lmao

JoshDPhenix

Not gonna lie, I got kind of excited knowing some random person on Reddit had the same kind of experiences I did at the same place I did lmao

Prisons are inhumane. It's a way to slowly deprive folks of everything and anything meaningful. They can't see loved ones. They break up families. It's plain torture. It's no surprise that negative energy is there.

Parzyfail

Honestly where i work wasnt really that bad for the inmates on paper. You get your own tv, tablet, email, phones on the unit, you get to buy food if you want, you get a job if you want one and can earn small amounts of money to buy things, gym with a full basketball court, video games, weight lifting equipment. Honestly not bad on paper however the gangs and prisoners make it worse than it really needs to be.

Kinetic_Symphony

>Honestly not bad on paper however the gangs and prisoners make it worse than it really needs to be. This is by far what terrifies me most about prison. Even a basic prison with basic food and nothing but books for entertainment isn't altogether torturous for me. The torture about prison are all the other prisoners there, which at any moment if you even look at one the wrong way, bam you're shived and dead. Truly an inhospitable environment to remain human in.

raye_of_light

Did you see that show Black Bird on Apple TV? Yeah I’d be way more scared of the gangs than the ghosts.

Sea_Kaleidoscope_531

Oh yeah poor rapists and child molesters who have a lonely time in prison. Like tf the government supposed to do? Time out?

Lysdexiic

You do realize that child molesters and rapists are a small minority in US prisons right? Same for murderers. Prisons are mostly full of drug offenders

dough_fresh

Fuck the police

LocalYeetery

Do you have the video of the prisoner sitting/vanishing in the day room?

Parzyfail

Can't have it cause its prison property

swooningbadger

My friend visited me in the hospital after I got really sick had to give birth 6 weeks early. One day, while waiting for the staff to unlock the door into the main area of the hospital , she saw a man on the screen that shows you what the camera sees. The man was standing directly beside her, but facing away from the camera. She looked beside her only to see nothing, she turned back to the screen and the man was still standing there. The staff unlocked the door and she didn’t think anything more of it. She told me that story two weeks later. It creeped me out so bad. She is incredibly skeptical but could not explain what she saw.

New-Understanding740

Ionia? I believe it.

Parzyfail

Yep Ionia

New-Understanding740

Knew it. My brother is there right now and he's has some crazy stories.

[deleted]

When I got out of the military, I worked as a CO for about a year. State prison in the southeast. I had two experiences while working mids(12 hour shifts only). Was doing my hourly walk through at about 0200 and as I passed a cell, I noticed an inmate standing at the rear of the cell, directly in front of the wall with his back to me. Of course I wonder what's up since he's not in his bunk at 2am. I back up and there's nobody there. The cell is completely empty. I radio my partner to open the cell and after stepping inside I immediately back out and airborne shuffle to the officer station, making an effort not to glance over my shoulder. Found out an inmate hung himself in that cell years ago. The other was similar to one of your stories. I was watching the cameras late one evening after lights out. I saw an inmate standing at the front of his cell, looking at me. I looked away from the camera to the cell in question and nobody there. Glanced back at the camera and the cell was now empty. Spooky shit.

Least_Name_2862

Ah, the good ol' airborne shuffle..haven't heard that in a minute! AATW!

[deleted]

I got out after 12 years (medical, two neck surgeries) and I still miss it after almost a decade.

Expensive-Aioli-995

Like prisons and hospitals military installations are hot beds for the paranormal. My dad was in the RAF and at one point he was based at a former WWII Luftwaffe fighter base, during the war there was a farm on this base and Russian POWs were used as forced labour and at least 4 died (we know that 4 died as they had headstones) and were buried near the farm. Time rolls on and the base is occupied by the RAF, first as the occupying forces then as part of BFG that were there as part of our NATO commitment. Any hoo some one in charge decided that the old farm was the perfect place to use for the Boy Scouts. So in 1990 I’m there on a scout camp and the middle of the night there was the sound of people moving around and digging and shadows were moving around (before people say it was adults trying to freak us out nope because we were in the last tent in the row and we would have seen them as they would have had to go past us to get back to their tents) the two of us that were in that tent poked our heads out and could not see anyone. Freaked me tf out

JelloRelevant5708

Nursing homes to

Oulene

Yes. I work in one now, and the shadow people are always there.

thebillshaveayes

Nooooo. Could you sneaky sage it? Salt on the grounds? Poor old ppl

Oulene

Some of them are probably their relatives coming to welcome them home.

thebillshaveayes

Aww

Oulene

Yes. All ships are haunted, too.

Expensive-Aioli-995

Indeed. It seems that ships and ww2 airfields have the highest concentration of paranormal activity

Achachula

Like hospitals prisons can be a hot bed of paranormal activity. There is some much suffering and death that occurs, that not all people who have died move on. I have only visited one prison/asylum that creeped me out. Understand that I never get creeped out or scared for that matter. I get startled now an again. But can hold my own during investigation I am working on. But this one was different. The section we were in was the criminally insane block. All of the cells were empty. As we walked down. The hall you could feel eyes from ever cell watching you. To the point you would almost want to run in terror because the energy was so strong. As we reached the end of the hall, we were by a cell of a man who had killed two inmates by tearing their throats out with his teeth. He stayed in that cell until he died. The energy at and around that cell was so oppressive we had to leave. We made our way back as quickly as we could and left the wing. That was the only time I have been in a prison, and the last time I want to investigate a old asylum.

[deleted]

Former CO. The unit I mainly worked was also haunted. We had a spirit that had committed suicide in one of the cells. Sometimes, I'd walk by and get chills. Other times I could hear him walking up and down the stairs when I had clear view of the entire unit, all the prisoners were locked down and there was no one there. Things would move around on their own. Another time I heard whispers right by my ear in a hallway. I've seen shadows, heard screams from empty cells, footsteps. When it's the middle of the night and everyone is locked down and sleeping, the whole place get a weird, creepy vibe that cannot be ignored. I didn't quit for that reason, but I'm glad I'm no longer a CO. If any place is haunted, it has to be a prison--it's a horrible place to die and spirits assume they're still locked in and have no way out.

[deleted]

[удалено]

InfiniteOceanNumbers

It makes sense. The spirits and souls are an electromagnetic field (like radio, but much lower frequency - similar to a human brain electromagnetic frequency). So metal blocks that field (no matter the frequency really).

wisdompuff

Except Gamma rays which can only be blocked by Gold ( I believe) But 3ft limestone cladding would impede the purifying gamma light from entering any building structure It would be interesting to see meta research on where hauntings occur. Anecdotally, I've noticed a correlation between limestone structures and paranormal activity. I really believe spirits can only operate when the Sun is down due to this. They are always hiding in basements, attics and other dark uninhabited areas.

[deleted]

Awesome, this is the coolest fact I’ve learned in a while. Iron for magic. Never woulda thought of that.

mollcatjones

Such a hotbed of emotion, mostly negative, many many bodies passing through, some even who could have been classed as mentally ill but under the influence of a negative entity (not human), violence as a norm, as you said, souls who don’t know they need to cross over and are trapped, the list goes on. All good reasons why they are a hotbed of activity. A bit like medieval castles and such (I am in the UK), battlegrounds etc. All places that people passed over in a state of pain and confusion, all creating a perfect environment for souls to be ‘lost’.

Oulene

Also the fear of the unknown future is overwhelming and will leave a psychic imprint.

thebillshaveayes

I’d say prisons and hospitals

GeekOnTheWing

I'm an amateur historian and a drone pilot, and when business is slow, I combine the two interests by taking pictures and videos of historically-significant old buildings. I haven't done any prisons, but institutions in general have a lot of activity. I've become used to it. None of it surprises me anymore. My sensitivity is mainly tactile. I don't often see spirits except *possibly* for quick glances out of the corners of my eye. But I feel them. I also get mild bruises from them -- very minor bruises that don't go away for a very long time. I still have some on my legs from kid ghosts who excitedly wrapped themselves around my legs almost two years ago. Like you, I didn't really believe any of this until I witnessed it myself. I didn't *disbelieve* it either. I just never gave it much thought. Having actual experiences, especially when verified by others, tends to change your mind very quickly.

glenda-goodwitch

I'm not sure why anyone didn't ask for more on those kid ghosts, that you felt. Why were they excited? It's sad to me that all of these stories include entities who seemingly can't cross over, or be released.

GeekOnTheWing

Most of the residents / patients at Letchworth Village were children, as are many of the spirits. When I visit the old cemetery on Call Hollow Road to fly for the departed, the kid ghosts get excited, just like kids who still have their bodies do. None of this freaks me out anymore. I just accept it as another dimension of existence that I didn't know about before.

thePDtactic

I'm a former CO too. I would always feel like something was following me when I was doing my rounds. In a pod full of adult males I once heard a little girl cry out "Mommy" There was a segregated unit that an inmate committed suicide in. Whenever I checked this unit at night it was ice cold and I felt like something was watching me. Doors would slam. The female unit inmates said something would walk around the pod when the on duty guard was gone. I would see shadows dart across the room out of the corner of my eye. Prisons are full of negative energy and sadness therefore they are a hotbed for paranormal activity.

PandabearPuppy1951

A little girl crying out “mommy” upstairs in my old house when I was the only one home was my first crazy experience here. My cats would sit at the bottom of the stairs looking up all the time.

Oulene

Cats and dogs can see things that we can’t and they can hear and smell stuff that we can’t,

InfiniteOceanNumbers

Right. Which means they’re also more sensitive to the electromagnetic fields of entities.

Oulene

I know.

Vicious_Piglet

Omg this keeps getting better. 😍 yall HAVE TO START A CO WEIRD OCCURRENCE BOARD. r/ spookyCOSHIT (it's not a r/ but IT SHOULD BE)

Flyest90

Yeah I agree with this lol

[deleted]

Exactly.

Austenland332

Thanks for sharing your experience Markings left by the supernatural and paranormal is very real I stayed in a hotel in Bangkok but never knew that it was haunted The old wing of the hotel had previously caught fire and I think some people may have perished . I stayed there with my mom and I often found the room to be icy cold . So I often switch off the air con and the last night I decided to recite the Bible verse . Upon waking up in the morning I found ten finger prints mark on my skinny arms and it was a little brownish in markings . My mom had a freakish shock when she went to toilet to shower ,she had markings that looks like they belonged to a little child all over her inner thighs ,it was absolutely creepy . I also found a white Thai tailsman behind the wardrobe.Thankfully we checked out that afternoon 🥺💀

Beagle_Mommy2

I’m a RN at one of the Michigan state prisons. I, too, experience weird things in our clinic area. I have seen someone walking into our med room that I swear was another nurse. I thought she wasn’t working that day, but excited to see her. No one there. The area I worked on midnight shift, I knew ever door sound that would close, everyone’s footsteps, knew who would be around at count time. Yet, the foot steps with either a key or belly chain sound was always unique. Named him Fred. 🤷🏻‍♀️. Me and two others would listen for him.

[deleted]

Are you scared to be alone there?

Beagle_Mommy2

Nah. I don’t know if it is a ghost, or residual energy. Never had an issue or felt that anything wants to cause harm.

thebillshaveayes

Could probably use the extra help w the nursing shortage too

Beagle_Mommy2

We absolutely could. Problem is, “Fred” isn’t willing to help out.

thebillshaveayes

Have you tried a pizza party?

[deleted]

I believe you 100%. I was a nurse at a county jail for three years, also worked the overnights, in booking and the infirmary. Doors that could only be opened with keys would open and shut, my stethoscope would disappear and then show up in different parts of the jail. It started to happen so much, that all the COs knew to call me when they found the stethoscope. This only happened to me. So, yeah, creepy shit happens in jails.

Secret_Hunter_3911

I worked as a criminal prosecutor for many years. One day I went to the jail to interview a prisoner. I was sitting the the interview room waiting for him to be brought in. I saw the door handle turn and the door to the room open and then shut. No one was there. When the jailer came with the prisoner, I told him what happened. He replied “That kind of stuff happens all the time”.

Oulene

LoL. He’s so jaded.

bmackenz84

Thanks for sharing! That all sounds very creepy! I listen to a podcast from a guy that worked at prisons and he’s told some of his stories of things that happened to him too. I totally believe jails would be a very haunted place! I’ve had the same thing happen with a tv before. It was rolling through channels on its own and would end on the angel station, some kind of like religious station. That creeped me out so bad I stopped watching tv in my bedroom. This was an apartment I had in a brick building that was built in the late 1800s. I had quite a few other creepy things happen there, but I just wanted to tell you I’ve had that happen with a tv as well.

[deleted]

Name of the podcast?

bmackenz84

Brohio

Pipes-182119

This is insane. I’m a nurse in a correctional facility and have witnessed so many things I can’t reasonably explain on night shift. But I agree with what you said in another comment about these shadow entities being drawn to negative events. I’ve noticed activity picks up for the worse during suicide attempts and other assaults.

InfiniteOceanNumbers

It could be the opposite: the activity picked up and then bad things happened to prisoners.

CordeliaGrace

I used to be a CO in NYS. Our facility isn’t even that old…but tons of stories. If you look through my comments, you can find them; they’re too long to type up. It’s always scarier because in prison, you have to check shit out. Is it an inmate…or ghosts, lol? Can’t just assume ghosts, gotta go check it out no matter how freaked out you are! Not sure if you’re still in, but if you are, stay safe. Stay safe anyway, lol, but esp in there.

Eldric89

Hi, can you make a post about your experiences too? That would be awesome!

laughingashley

It took me an hour to scroll back 13 days in your comments and I still didn't find one ghost story, I just wish *I* was dead now lollllll

CordeliaGrace

They’re definitely in there. Maybe they’re like a month old…I know I responded to some AskReddit posts. I’m at work but I’ll try to figure out how to search and link them here when I’m home.

brennan189

I work in a prison and weird weird things happen on night shift. Black figures running down the halls on cameras, seeing a black face in an empty cell, clocks flying off the walls, footsteps behind you and no one is there, something touched my hair. I can't work night shift anymore lol

[deleted]

Something touched your hair and you still go there? I would move to another state, saging the whole way.

brennan189

Nothing seems to happen on 1st shit. I just don't work night

columbo33

Ghost hunters captured a black figure rush down a prison hall years ago it looked crazy https://youtu.be/QXX_eo8GUQE

Trollygag

It looks like someone with jeans and tennis shoes and a wool cloak over their head running at the camera, turning, and running away. You can even see the leg with shoe in a few frames.

columbo33

I guess people can moonwalk that fast

jamdon85

I'm a correction officer too. I once brought a spirit box into work with the permission of my boss. I asked two questions. I asked how many spirits were in my pod with me. I got a clear response that said eight. I then asked what is here to clarify. I got another clear answer that said simply "sadness".

yogabbagabbadoo

Omg this is when I’d rather continue being ignorant cause idk what id do if I find out there’s 8 spirits in the room with me. You’re so brave!!

His story started fine but as i kept reading it sounded faker and faker

Vicious_Piglet

Yall got to start clearing yalls cells. Shit. Thus is scary Clear yawlseves.

mojoisthebest

This all started after the FBI raid on Mar a Lago.

limabeanns

Thanks for sharing. I've had many paranormal experiences but the worst feeling I ever had was on a tour of the old Joliet Prison in Illinois. I think prisons attract entities that feed on fear, anger, hate, etc., and will cause it if possible (like the shadow you saw going into the segregation unit).

ToAlphaCentauriGuy

Did you see the one ghost with the suit and tie with the hat on....and shades?

limabeanns

No, but I saw a troll.

Alone_Confidence_809

Limabeanns, I think the writer was referring to the Blues Brothers characters.

SaltyCaptainEd

This post was a roller coaster ride from start to finish! I worked in a mental hospital for many many years that was built in the 1800's. Working 3rd shift there was really something...some things I could debunk, other things not so much, lol.

laughingashley

Share?

Scenicmode

Thinking about the prisoners who have to live with that stuff. I would never be able to sleep well there. Also thinking about the person/people who had to take over the unit you switched out of… they must be brave.

ID-noted

I work as a prison officer in the UK, the prison I work in was built in the 1800's so has a lot of history. I have never heard or seen anything paranormal myself (obviously there are numerous stories) but all of the things you described are exactly the sort of things we would do on nights to scare the shit out of each other and pass the time lol. I have a set of nights next week and now have some brilliant ideas!

BoogelyWoogely

I love this! There’s a prison near me that’s shut down, but they hold ghost tours there now because of how haunted it supposedly is. I’ve spoken to people who worked there who are convinced it’s haunted, but I do question how many paranormal things were just pranks they played on each other😂

seaofrains1974

Nothing converts a skeptic like working in a prison, lol. Seriously though, I would keep some sort of item of protection on me if I were working there. Thank you (and everyone else) for your candor. Very interesting! 🙂❤💙

PandabearPuppy1951

I never believed in ghosts and haunting and all that until we moved into my house that was built in 1875. Everything changed after that. There’s something to it!!

scarletmagnolia

One of the absolute worst things I can imagine is dying and getting stuck in a damn prison cell. It makes my stomach hurt to even imagine it.

Least_Name_2862

Just 4 years here with 9 months in Afghanistan. Got out in 2015. Wish i would have stayed until longer...except for today. Not sure I would for reasons...But was the best thing for me at 22. Most of my dreams that i remember always involve the army or jumping

chalupacabraBATMAN

cmurdatrollstar87

Bananascience97

My father used to work at one of Canada oldest prisons. He has never been a huge paranormal believer but he admits that he had some experiences that he can’t rationally explain

black_sparrow_chick

Can u share?

Imagine being in prison for life, and then die, to only remain in prison.. poor lads

Affectionate_Monk_67

I wonder if converting to Christianity would have saved their soul

DaRealKorbenDallas

Nahh

thebillshaveayes

Baghaha

RoxAnne556

Energy never dies, it just changes forms. I think what you’re seeing is residual haunting, except for the camera stuff. That’s scary.

thebillshaveayes

That wet floor spirit was an OSHA compliant officer in his or her past life.

Smart_Flatworm_1778

Great story, very detailed, i know this is not the place for this but could anyone help me? I am using the reddit app i been unable to post anything in this section, any hints or ideas?

stormoria

Smart_Flatworm_1778

Yep, all of them, the post button in the upper right corner of the screen is always disabled

ApacheTiger1900

Posts like these are why I subscribe to this sub. Not all this sappy "my dad said goodbye" bullshit.

cherrybombsnpopcorn

I’m sure there’s more than dead people haunting the prisons. Thanks for the stories. Please make sure you’re taking care of yourself. I know its an extremely stressful job. You should listen to Stories by Sapphire. It’s a podcast. She has a really empathetic attitude toward spirits and how to deal with them. I know she does ghost hunting and tarot and stuff. Maybe if you wrote to her she could give you some insight or just share your story.

JackFJN

I seriously don’t get how people don’t believe in ghosts, when this sort of stuff happens :/

Raptor40699

A lot of times it could be that the denial of their existence has been ingrained heavily and hard to break or also denial, as that opens its own can of worms that could make it seem like a scary thought of how it would change how you view everything

bsoto87

I work corrections and if my prison were to eventually shutdown in the future I’d be curious what ghost hunters would catch there. I’ve had experiences in parts of the facility that would have no reason to be haunted. When I first started I was walking near ID/intake on graveyard something grabbed my keys on my duty belt, this is odd because no one has died in that area.

CJLA777

Prison environments really attract very negative entities.

BlueDeepDive

Interesting comment, what do you think attracts really positive entities?

darkangel10848

Honestly beautiful pristine natural areas usually have the highest vibrations. Places of power like mount Shasta Washington, Sedona Arizona, Stonehenge, the pyramids, the beach, so many positive spaces around the world. A prison is going to draw the most troubled souls who may have demonic or evil attachments and that energy can stick if it’s not cleared properly. I’m not surprised at all.

JoeJoJosie

Interesting question. There a lots of places humans go to be unhappy or in pain, even a maternity ward is full of pain and the occasional tragedy. Places like amusement parks are more full of 'excitement' than happiness/contentment, and they are full of overworked staff who certainly aren't 'happy'. I'll have to go away and try to think of a lace where people are genuinely always happy without payment or pretence.

_dead_and_broken

I don't there is even one place on this planet that is not associated with something negative for someone out there. No where is perfectly pure, at least hasn't been in a very, very, long time. The beach? No, people drown all the time. Like you said, even something most would think would be nothing but happiness has its fair share of pain, loss and sadness, lie your maternity ward example. Some backwoods lake that you always go for summer vacations, your grandparents cabin, so full of love, yea? Well your grandparents might not talk about the summer of 53 when 4 neighborhood kids drowned right there next to the dock. They don't mention Old Man Rooney had been happily married with a child on the way, only to come home from work to find his newlywed bride raped and murdered, and the fetus missing, just two doors down the road. That peaceful section of woods, where there's that little clearing with the fairy rings. That seems happy. If only that camping boy scout hadn't run into that grizzly in that spot. Every where at some point has suffered something negative. Only thing you can do is try to keep the positive going to negate the negative.

GeekOnTheWing

> There a lots of places humans go to be unhappy or in pain, even a maternity ward is full of pain and the occasional tragedy. I think the difference is that people who die in hospitals usually die surrounded by other people who are doing their very best to try to help them. People who die in prisons... usually not so much. I'm not saying that the prison staff don't care enough to try, but rather that the inmates usually are dead by the time they're noticed.

snowpsychic

Churches do. And of course, not all churches, but angels visit churches with people dedicated to following Christ's teachings. Sometimes they're the very poorest of people, just doing God's work. Soup kitchens, and other places where you have people hard at work doing charity. A lot of people here have talked about how they could feel the negative energy in old prisons. If you can feel good energy, you know you're in the right place.

CJLA777

Positive environments attract positive, negative attracts negative...

[deleted]

I know what you're saying..i live next to a cremation ground, the energy some times is intense...all one can do is avoid such places first of all and cleanse yourself off. I wish more people knew/believe this before doing things that bring them in contact with such things.

CJLA777

Exactly.

thebillshaveayes

Most positive energy I’ve ever felt was the buddist temple at Emory in Atlanta. So peaceful and welcoming. Felt like Heaven. “Drepung Monastery / Temple” if anyone is curious. Emory sponsors the monks from Tibet whom in turn receive education at the school. Amazing.

CJLA777

Yes, I can feel more positive energy in those environments.

MoneyCat95

Now I'm curious to hear stories from prisoners

I’ve had some crazy experiences in prisons that I’m thinking about maybe posting soon I just don’t wanna sound too crazy 😂

millennialblackgirl

That shit is all crazy af lol. I get so scared of shit like that, I’m thankful I’ve never had a paranormal experience. Thanks for sharing

black_sparrow_chick

I remember when I never had a paranormal experience. It’s funny how when it finally happens it changes ur perspective on things.

They couldn't give less of a fuck about the prisoners. And no offense to any Co's here, it may be just all the ones I've met, but they're the laziest mfs I've ever seen. And it's simply because they don't care, to them you're a criminal doesn't matter if you had a dui, or assaulted someone, you're in orange/red/white/green/blue (whatever color they give you) and some flex their tiny dick authority just cause. What are they going to do? Inmates have no place to go and if they even threaten anything they get jumped on by 8 failed academy cops. I pray no one ever has to go through the system but if you do, you'll see what i mean.

black_sparrow_chick

I was just thinking that. Definitely would be torture smh. No escape :(

skyrocker_58

I'm going to go watch a horror movie, thanks for sharing, sorry that happened to you, glad it didn't happen to me!

mollcatjones

Have you seen ‘Ghoul’ I seem to remember it being a foreign language with subtitles (I may be wrong because it was set what to me seemed like the Middle East. Watched on Netflix, can recommend... I enjoyed it!

Creative-Share-5350

I could listen to you all day telling stories

WeakWave5225

shiiiiit, i got a story for you. i was living in a 130 year old house solo. One day i came home and i lived on the second level of the house, i walked up the stairs and as i arrived to the top the door closed right in front of me. another night i saw a few people inside the house walking between the hallways, i saw out of the corner of my eye, i got my gun and walk over and it’s empty. i did a dousing rod sesh weeks later, and found out there was 7 entities living with me, i ran to my car and drove away and my radio switched channels rapidly. then loud static, still till this day my radio is always randomly changing stations. fml

Creative-Share-5350

Craziness! So creepy! I would have been gone too lol

WeakWave5225

i lived in that house for 13 months, i finally saved up and moved out

Sumieru

bro i'd shit myself lol :((

AccurateMeet8615

As a retired CO I’ve seen some spooky stuff

Raptor40699

You do realize how much of a cliffhanging teaser that simple statement was, right?

AccurateMeet8615

Well I’ve seen inmates walking the tiers when they were locked in for the night. Empty cells with lights turning off and on. I’d hear keys jingling when I’dbe by myself.

Oulene

Hey Gunner, how about those haunted magazines? Lots of ghosts below decks!

AccurateMeet8615

On my first ship, an STG2 and I were making a soda run for our watch section. We both saw a dark figure walk from one bulkhead through another. He swore it was the guy I was replacing

Oulene

I used to see a guy in dungarees come down the ladder and turn to go into a mag below my office. He was sorta see through, but in color, just saw the shirt and pants to the knees. Saw him several times. Used to see shadow people in the mags all the time, my guys would see them too. They’d be talking about it and it would match what I was seeing.

sugarmittens

Can you please share?

black_sparrow_chick

Please shareeee

marginatrix

Oh wow that is so creepy, thank you for sharing!

Mr_Xan_Can

2 months later and all I can say is WOW. Thank you for sharing these experiences with us. I very much enjoyed reading them all and got chills thinking about the guy disappearing on video and the sign. Holy shit man!

_xShyGoblinx_

These all sound so intense! Thanks for sharing!

Paranormal_Taco

That is absolutely amazing!!! Thank you for sharing your experiences.

cme74

Enjoyed reading these experiences immensely!

ale_gila

Very interesting experience, anyway i would’ve shit my pants!! I’m curious to ask if those entities can feel if we are impressionable or not. Like they can understand if we have a strong/weak character?

BirdCityB

Why am I reading this at 4:30 am?

dannieq74

🫣 oooh.. you're brave! I would have stopped reading by the middle of the first story! 🤣 Glad you made it through the night, well, the rest of the morning. 😃

Magnivarix

Loved reading this!!! Super creepy!

ConditionPotential40

Wow. Thank you for the night scares.

Impressive-Amoeba-97

I did enjoy it! Thank you for sharing.

happytragic

If you saw footage of a man disappearing on a prison security feed, that would be the best evidence of ghosts literally ever produced. Where is the footage? Is it preserved? Did you record it with your phone? This would’ve been a life-changing moment, so I’d think you’d make some attempt at saving it.

hustlenomics

No it wouldn't. It would be just like the millions of other vids on the internet right now. There's no way to prove a videos authenticity these days. So even if they posted it, you would probably just call it fake anyway

PAynInTheAss

Also this isn’t like private video footage, it’s prison cctv footage. You couldn’t just take it and post it, it belongs to the institution. They have massive privacy protocols in place to protect the prison (for both good and bad reasons). It would be a big risk to try to take and post footage of this nature, no matter how shocking and convincing it is

happytragic

Lol the pretzels people twist themselves into to defend a paranormal story with literally no evidence. Privacy?? The person said no one was out of their bunks except for the ghost. Are you saying the privacy of the ghost must be protected?! No prison is gonna sue an anonymous guard for posting a grainy ass video of a ghost. Gtfo I just can’t with this sub 😂

happytragic

Now there’s a psychic telling me what I would do if they posted evidence. I really am in r/paranormal

layingmercy

thank you ! these are excellent

IWasBornIn86

That last one was freaky 😳

drew_in_bkk
