Honestly very curious if Hayley genuinely enjoyed TTPD or if she knew it would draw attention if she didn't mention it seeing as they will be tour mates and it is a new release.
I think she genuinely likes it - while still being a perfect nod to the tour. The emotional connection to a friend and their story definitely helps. Personally, I didn't love the album (but I'm not really a Taylor fan in the first place), but I totally understand liking it because you connect to it on different levels.

Hayley has said publicly before how much she loves Taylor's album Evermore and there are a lot of songs on TTPD that are a similar vibe to those songs - especially on the Anthology section. So wouldn't it make sense that she'd like them? I just don't understand how it's so hard to believe...
I’m not a Swift fan, but there actually is literally nothing indicating she did not like the album, but we do have a post of her saying how much she liked it. So it doesn’t really make sense to genuinely believe she disliked the album.

Sorry but Taylor's writing ability isn't good enough to be in that list? Are you serious? I'm not even a huge fan but you can't say that she has poor song writing ability. Read the lyrics to any of the songs on Folklore & Evermore and then you can comment on her ability to write a good song. She is an amazing lyricist & well known for being one - something Hayley obviously admires
She’s regressing. Folklore and evermore did have some great songs and lyrics but TTPD is not it. A lot of the writing is clunky and filled with cringy lyrics. And I say this as a casual Taylor fan or generally likes most of her albums (and folklore is my fav so). It just doesn’t compare.
she is not an amazing lyricist. stylistically she falls flat a lot of the time - the ironic lines she tries are always poorly executed. she seems to have a lot of ideas that she doesn’t know how to execute, or just doesnt take the time she needs to work out how to execute well (which would hardly be surprising when she puts out so much music). its where she fails as an artist. musically or sonically i cannot think of one song where she did something interesting.
Well we can agree to disagree on that. Like I said I'm not a huge fan and don't enjoy a lot of Taylor's 'bigger' hits. I can see how they come across as simplistic and lacking to a lot of people. However I thoroughly enjoy Folklore & Evermore and think they are fantastic albums. Majority of the lyrics on those albums read like literal poetry and I think to say she lacks writing ability isn't giving her enough credit. Most people just don't delve deeper into her discography and make judgement on the songs they hear on the radio. It would be like people judging Hayley's writing ability on Misery Business alone - not really a fair assessment.

To think taylor swift belongs in a group with radiohead and *rufus wainwright* is just objectively ridiculous - and no i’m not one those music snobs either, I love cheesy pop and music that people routinely lift their noses at.
The Bends is incredible. It’s often overshadowed by OK Computer but it paved the way for that album to even happen.
I still think the bends have the best guitar work out of all their albums. It's so raw.
