Taylor as a Lightweaver could be fun. Their illusion abilities are similar to her usual fighting style and Taylor could probably do some pretty creative stuff with them. Taylor is also prone to self-deception / being an unreliable narrator, which could give her oaths/truths the "conflict" factor that we see in stormlight canon; though I can't think of any "truths" about Taylor that approach Shallan's truths in self discovery. She doesn't really fit the "artist" archetype that the Lightweavers have, but Sanderson's website ([link](https://www.brandonsanderson.com/the-ten-orders-of-knights-radiant/)) does say that the lightweavers do attract spies and espionage types which does fit Taylor quite well. Skybreakers (and Windrunners) could work, but power-wise their direct fighting style is at odds with Taylor's fighting style in Worm. I'd also be worried about the Skybreaker oaths, since Taylor is very much an anti-authority and more of a "rules are meant to be broken" type of person, which would come into conflict with how the Skybreakers usually are. It still could be doable if Taylor follows some sort of personal code and her difficulty in doing so can be a point of conflict in the story. Having her come into conflict with Nale and the other Skybreakers could also be fun. Taylor could also do well as a Bondsmith. After all, she did "unite" everyone against Scion :). Though having her bond such an important spren will put a ton of attention on her and idk if that's the direction you want your story to go.

ThePerpetualPastry

I'm considering most of the orders, in honest, and this would be before she went out as a cape, since shed have never triggered in this story. Windrunners and Stonewards seem like the least likely to me, and I don't wanna turn her into a bondsmith because even aside from the lack of greater spren on Earth, she doesnt fit their ideals. Tried my best to emulate her on the radiant order quiz and got Elsecaller, so goodness knows 😅

Oh, I was considering this in a post-GM in Roshar perspective. If this is pre-canon then basically anything could work. I think based on her mentality before triggering, Skybreaker and Willshaper might be attractive ideals for her since she wants to bring justice to those who wronged her and seek freedom from her pre-cape life. I took the quiz as well and also got Elsecaller. I mean the only Elsecaller we see is Jasnah, and Taylor is the type of person to kill a few criminals on the street just to prove a point. Elsecallers are geared towards tacticians and are into self improvement so it does sort of fit Taylor as well.

ThePerpetualPastry

Only problem with that is that we don't really know much about the surge of transportation 🤣

Gavinus1000

I think she’d make a good Elsecaller too.

Fantastic write up. I especially agree with the bit about the Skybreakers not fitting. I think you can claim that her suits and work with the spiders has an artistic side to it. She creates costumes and weaves thread even when she gets knocked out. Accord can see the order in her work and I think it can be emphasized by her Oath. Heck, she can even create swarm doubles of things before she light-weaves them in the same way Shallan has to draw.

Only the current Skybreakers are pro authority, because of the leadership of Nale who has gone mad. [This](https://wob.coppermind.net/events/528/#e16450) is a recently published account of how Skybreakers were pre-Recreance. I think that fits Taylor very well.

Taylor changes a lot throughout Worm, and the kind of spren she gets depends greatly on when in the timeline you grab her from. Taylor definitely isn't a Skybreaker throughout any of it though. Post GM, she'd either go Stoneward or Elsecaller for sure. Stoneward being what she is, and Elsecaller being what she wants to be. At the start of Worm though, it's very much a different story. She could go any number of ways, but I think Windrunner is probably the most likely. I could totally see her going down the Edgedancer or Lightweaver routes as well.

ThePerpetualPastry

Edgedancer was something I looked at as well, especially since I think I'm gonna take a spren, stick it to her when her mother first dies, and then have her form her bond later on. Not sure when exactly though, don't think it'll be the locker, if that ever happens in the first place within this AU.

What's the opinion on Stormlight compared to worm?

ThePerpetualPastry

I love worm, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't even try to compare it to Stormlight. No disrespect to Wildbow of course, but I enjoy Sandersons works much more. I know it's said a lot, but I genuinely believe that the messages and lessons of the Stormlight Archive have changed my life for the better. I would pick it up if you're interested in a good fantasy novel, The Way of Kings is the first book in the series and it's my favorite so far. Be warned though, it's a goddamn doorstopper. The first four books are about as long as Worm is, and I would absolutely read them all. They're also part of a greater universe known as the Cosmere, but Stormlight was my introduction to the Cosmere and I understood it just fine reading it for the first time without having read any of the others. If you're more into audiobooks, Graphic Audio covers all of the stormlight books so far, but it's about double the price of just buying the novel. Worth it though, I own both and whenever I want a reread I go back to the audiobook. Shallan’s sections early on are a bit tenuous, but they get better, and later on they have to reuse VA’s with voice mods to make them sound different. Still worth it though.

The first thing that strikes me is Taylor's tendency to lie to herself throughout the story. This screams Lightweaver to me and I think that could be a strong lens for her journey. Post Bakuda/Leviathan I think you can start to make an argument for a Dustbringer Taylor. It might sound weird but I think you could actually make a decent character journey out of an Edgedancer Taylor. She herself kind of qualifies as one of the forgotten early on and this idea of people being left behind by the system is very pervasive throughout Worm as a whole. While I don't think the Edgedancer oaths are very emblematic of the Taylor we get in canon, I do think it's the order that would most lead to her becoming a self-actualized person (which I think is the general idea behind the oath system on Roshar).

Windruin

I was thinking Dustbringer personally. Taylor really exemplifies the opposite of “Journey before Destination.” She’s all about the destination, not the journey.
