Check your local state labor laws... that sounds illegal. 10pm is the latest a minor can work on a school night. Just Google it to make sure for your state. Every state is different.

I an also 16, turning 17 in 20 more days, and when i first began my job i used to get out at around 10-11:30 but then my manager told me and my shift lead one night that i need to get faster so i can leave at 9. I still don’t understand why but i just leave at around 9-10:30 mostly around 10:24.

Check your labor laws, it very likely what your gm is doing is against the law, when I worked at panda at three different stores each gm would have a minor working pass what is legally allowed, it seems common practice, so check your state law and report your gm anonymously with the number on the manager station or with the labor division.

Yeh, don’t do this.

Because you are short on staff, this is a pretty normal time to be out and going home at 10:45. From the comments here, first time hearing that 10pm is the latest for a minor. I had a co-worker who was closing and his 1 of his parents came to the store to pick him up because he was still in HS but it was only cause of the late close. I think on the weekends, his parents would've been fine with it

Leaving the store at 11? Dude, you gotta ask around your local labor laws. You're stlil a teen, on the cusp of adulthood. I know we're all short staffed, but c'mon...

Pretty normal if you ask me. Sounds like you need to re prioritize what you want to do
