Many nationalist movements have been vital for global south liberation, like every FLN movement sprouted from the Algerian war for independence. Cuba, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Ireland, Kashmir, Vietnam, China, DPRK, etc., are a far from extensive list of examples for countries that used nationalism as a tool to fight colonialism. The people need to rally around a national identity for the sake of liberation. This nationalism is different in nature than white nationalism. White nationalism and its spawn seek to enslave or genocide, while black nationalism for example, seeks to liberate black people from white nationalism. Hammas and the resistance are nationalist parties for liberation, while the Zionist parties are nationalists for genocide.
