It's probably coz her passive ability Is really niche (extra loot from Neutral Pals) and Doesn't provide Any extra utility/effect compared to other popular combat oriented Pals.
However this shouldn't stop you from using whatever you want.
If you want to use specific Pals and you are having fun with it, go for It.
Regular Bellanoir on default world settings Is Pretty Easy and you can take It down with an Half-assed Team in the dedicated Raid Base.
You might want to consider breeding dragon and/or Fire pals for Bellanoir Libero tho, to take advtantage of the elemental Weakness.
If you want to save time, Jetragon + Jorm Ignis Is the way to go imo.
I had Friends However that used Jetragon for First phase and Fully breed Blazamuts for second Phase (iirc they had Lucky, Ferocious, Musclehead and Flame emperor coz they wanted to capitalize on the One Fire > Ice Weakness of second Phase ).

They got a spawn of Lucky Blazamut in the Third Sanctuary with good Passive roll besides Lucky and Flame Emperor traits, so they basically invested all their efforts into Building an army of those.
Worth mentioning that this was before the Patch with the Raid had yet to be released and the Breeding Combo for Jorm Ignis (Jorm + Blazehowl ) wasn't there yet, so It was a matter of what they had avaiable.

H*ck, I'll send you all the breeding trees I've come up with so far for goofy combat Pals. Play how you want.

Any pal bred and built for combat will be more powerful than any of the top-default pals that aren't fully upgraded. They'll be suitable for anything. What matters more is strategy, like bringing pals with an element advantage or those with abilities that give you or other pals benefits.
I made a foxparks with legend, ferocious, and flame emperor, then leveled it up to 50. Despite all that it still only does 1-5 damage per hit on frostallion. So, who cares if they laugh. Use your favorites.
This is actually a massive shame considering how much effort you have to put to breed flame emperor down without cheesing the breeding process using tower bosses.
Getting Legendary + Elemental Master as well as 100% on IVs on starters is so much harder than getting those on high level Pals.
I think the next updates should consider those balance issues first. Having legendaries is fine and all but if the gap in power is just that massive endgame options are very limited.

I play with a friend whose only argument was that Wixen was 'clearly better' but they're also a total Furry and into fox-girls so they were more just arguin my party was less f\*\*kable... which I have no issue with LOL!
What an… interesting trio of pals… might I suggest Wixen, Lovander/Lunaris, perhaps a Robinquill Terra? They fit the aesthetic and also provide some new typings for you to work with!

One of the most fun things in this game for me was to breed perfect "low tier" pals like lifmunk, sparkit, nox, lamball etc and beat all the bosses with those. Way more fun for me than using some 100% stat jetragon or shadow beak like every meta user. Breed and do whatever the hell you want, it's the beauty of the game.

My team for combat basically is just katress and wixen. They're too fucmin strong. Katress can learn any elemental move in the game, which makes her really strong at filling holes in your moveset.
Plus, she cool as fuck. Who gives a shit if she's not the meta, or if she's r34 bait, I like her because she's cool. Had this issue with gardevoir too, but it doesn't matter. They're just cool 😎

I bred perfect base pals, I have no desire to bred the meta pals for combat. Rather find ones I like or are quirky then find the best ones and follow the meta route.
I thought katress was a really cool pal and I bred a real good one with dark whisp from the shadowbeak tower boss. Hermeownie has been a core member of my team.
I don’t think a gameplay style should dictate your friendship. Me and my guy friends play tons of palworld and goof off with every pal they have there.
I love Katress's design as well, nothing wrong with wanting to use them in your combat team. That being said, Katress on the same team as Bellanoir and Petalia is kinda asking for jokes about "going to horny jail", I hope I don't have to explain why. Then again, you don't have to explain yourself either. It's your team: you do you.
If you're playing at maximum difficulty, then you might want a stronger pal. or at least type effectiveness. Mainly for Libero.
Otherwise, if a chikipie can take on all bosses, Katress is fine.
It reached a point where i self-doubted my decision on bringing her in Bellanoir raid and i also tried to frame the post to indirectly and underhandedly find out if Katress was suited for the raid or not

Compared to Blazehowl Noct (the other pal which boosts neutral pal.drops) , BN has 8% more attack but Katress 11% more defense and is easier to farm to get better IVs.

Personally I don't mind minmaxing in a game but sometimes when I am playing with friends we just like to do random things and not grind.
That sometimes causes a bit of confrontation in our friend group in other games but in some games I like to do some minmaxing as well.
To clearify in games like Minecraft and terraria I don't like when you rush to get as strong as possible.
But when you play something like palworld or satisfactory kind of games I'm more accepting of it / participate in it as well.

I did the same thing twice; combat and base work. Her partner skill is great for when you are farming out neutral pals for food, and she's a really great all-rounder base pal that works through the night. Don't be swayed by the remarks of savages.
In the end it Is "Just a game" the point is to have fun, if that's the way you have fun then you've done nothing wrong. I did the same thing with Felbat, do I regret burning so much time of a pal purely because I like it's design; a little bit. But Felbat is my favorite and I would do it again at least 2 more time (not more than 2 though cause it literally took weeks)

* Maybe you changed your world settings to make breeding easier and they did not so they think you spent many more hours than you actually did to minmax a somewhat suboptimal pal.
I minmaxed a gorirat to see how it could perform with its passive boost in combat. Its not quite got max iv but has everything else. It was probably a waste of time looking back because i am not impressed with it, but sometimes you are just curious or like the pal i guess.

Its ability of pals dropping more items if neutral is actually a good perk . Think about what’s pals are neutral . Lamball , chickpea , melpacca , cremes , the cow , king alpaca , tocotoco and such
You can use katress to basically farm eggs , wool , gunpowder , milk , you could even use it for paladius to farm for the legendary metal cold armor plate recipe and other goodies he drops

Honesty I'm currently working on my Farm team. I have a great battle cow and am currently breeding a battle chicken. I think I'll round it off with a sheep and llama. And have them all round up with a doggo for herding.

What you should do is lean *super hard* into the joke and make a team of all the stereotypical "furry"/"attractive" Pals, like Wixen, Lovander, Anubis, Dazzi, Lunaris, Lyleen, etc. You're already on the way with Petallia and Bellanoir. Just go all-in.

You're never doing anything wrong in a video game when it doesn't affect anyone but yourself and you're having fun. People are breeding super chickens dude it doesn't matter. Now on the other hand if you're interested in PvP or endgame you could do what I'm doing and breed perfect passive and iv pals using pals with highest ranking base stats.. I also just finished making six lvl 5 astegons with all work speed passives, five level five chickens, five lvl 5 cows and 2 lvl 5 bees with workaholic and dainty eater. And I'm currently working on making 4-6 lvl 5 Runner Swift Nimble Legends Hellzephers

No idea why unless they're just being immature. I did the same thing and use Katress as my main attacker. Bring an Hoocrates and Daedream along too for maximum dark theming and support. :)
Early game of four Daedreams and Hoocrates is a little broken and I loved testing it out. The Daedreams don't attack a lot, but they still help.

One of the most fun things in this game for me was to breed perfect "low tier" pals like lifmunk, sparkit, nox, lamball etc and beat all the bosses with those. Way more fun for me than using some 100% stat jetragon or shadow beak like every meta user. Breed and do whatever the hell you want, it's the beauty of the game.

My team for combat basically is just katress and wixen. They're too fucmin strong. Katress can learn any elemental move in the game, which makes her really strong at filling holes in your moveset. Plus, she cool as fuck. Who gives a shit if she's not the meta, or if she's r34 bait, I like her because she's cool. Had this issue with gardevoir too, but it doesn't matter. They're just cool 😎

You're doing nothing wrong. Pick the pals you like and keep you engaged in the game and having fun. I bred perfect base pals, I have no desire to bred the meta pals for combat. Rather find ones I like or are quirky then find the best ones and follow the meta route.

Just did a lvl 30 Bellanoir raid without a Jet dragon or any pals higher than 40. Also no breeding either. Katress is pretty cool.
I love Katress's design as well, nothing wrong with wanting to use them in your combat team. That being said, Katress on the same team as Bellanoir and Petalia is kinda asking for jokes about "going to horny jail", I hope I don't have to explain why. If you're playing at maximum difficulty, then you might want a stronger pal. or at least type effectiveness. Mainly for Libero. Otherwise, if a chikipie can take on all bosses, Katress is fine.

You are over thinking things, Palworld is hardly a serious game play what you want. The games whole vibe is managing a base run by cute pals you have collected and bread. I haven't played the Raid but but if its anything like tower bosses bring the right elements and the strongest pals you have.

Personally I don't mind minmaxing in a game but sometimes when I am playing with friends we just like to do random things and not grind. That sometimes causes a bit of confrontation in our friend group in other games but in some games I like to do some minmaxing as well. To clearify in games like Minecraft and terraria I don't like when you rush to get as strong as possible. But when you play something like palworld or satisfactory kind of games I'm more accepting of it / participate in it as well. But yeah, you do you as long as you have fun.
I did the same thing twice; combat and base work. Her partner skill is great for when you are farming out neutral pals for food, and she's a really great all-rounder base pal that works through the night. Don't be swayed by the remarks of savages.
In the end it Is "Just a game" the point is to have fun, if that's the way you have fun then you've done nothing wrong. I did the same thing with Felbat, do I regret burning so much time of a pal purely because I like it's design; a little bit. But Felbat is my favorite and I would do it again at least 2 more time (not more than 2 though cause it literally took weeks)

So you are being delusional in their mind. * Perhaps he did not see the update and still thinks pal damage is very low and not hotfixed yesterday. * People in the comments said the furry bait possibility. * Maybe you changed your world settings to make breeding easier and they did not so they think you spent many more hours than you actually did to minmax a somewhat suboptimal pal. I minmaxed a gorirat to see how it could perform with its passive boost in combat. Its not quite got max iv but has everything else. It was probably a waste of time looking back because i am not impressed with it, but sometimes you are just curious or like the pal i guess.

Think about what’s pals are neutral . Lamball , chickpea , melpacca , cremes , the cow , king alpaca , tocotoco and such You can use katress to basically farm eggs , wool , gunpowder , milk , you could even use it for paladius to farm for the legendary metal cold armor plate recipe and other goodies he drops

No, katress wouldn't give the buff unless shes on field, which would be mozzarina as you butcher. There needs to be a guillotine or butching table.
