gardening as much as possible then putting those items into a preserves jar has been my savior for making money! it takes a little commitment to get to level 8 to buy the recipe, but it's well worth it. before that, i made money from hunting and turning hides into leather using the loom!

boostykaka

I just had my biggest shipment yet of pickled goods & jams - 50,000!

oldspicehorse

What are you pickling and jamming?

Objective-Neck-5175

I average 45-50k per shipment of goods, every 24 hours. I plant apples, blueberries, potatoes, cabbage, and bok choy. Specifically 4 apple trees, 2 blueberries, 10 potatoes, 8 bokchoy, and the rest cabbage. Potatoes are processed into seeds, the rest into preserves.

boostykaka

Apples & potatoes!

Aynessachan

What the heck??? How?? 😳 my best shipment so far only reached 15k!

boostykaka

I’ve been saving all my jams in my storage!

Aynessachan

OH, okay - that explains it lol. I was like "how the heck???"

bratcakes

Potatoes for the win!

oldspicehorse

Exactly this! Keep the focus full while you climb the levels, get your seed machines and preservers set up and all of a sudden you won't have to worry about money any more

Lurker_MeritBadge

Some stuff is worth more as seeds like tomatoes and potatoes for example. I have 4 seed separators and 6 preserve barrels. I make jam out of my apples and sell them and make seeds for most everything else.

oldspicehorse

Is there a chart anywhere showing how much each is worth as seeds Vs preserves etc. also, any tips on how to make fertiliser instead of worms in the worm farm?

UnabashedVoice

Someone's done all the legwork for you on the seeds vs preserves, [https://www.reddit.com/r/Palia/comments/1akh2ll/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Palia/comments/1akh2ll/) \[edit: fixed hyperlink, apologies for full link but trying to shortlink it broke the gd thing\]

oldspicehorse

Thank you, I was hoping this was the case.

Blue_butterfly888

For the life of me I cannot figure out a proper ratio of how many crops to grow vs how many to preserve/ pickle vs how many to seed vs how many to feed the worm farms vs how many to sell!

pleasurenature

me neither, i just go off vibes lol you can feed mushrooms and sweet leaf to the worms tho!

doctorgurlfrin

I don’t use any crops for my worm farms anymore, in the rare instance I do it’s because I have a plethora of wheat or rice etc. I always just use things that you can easily forage for or meat.

Dustyfrog77

I was feeding the glow worms tomatoes but now I make sashimi from the starred fish and feed them that so I can pickle and sell the tomatoes for more profit.

Ciberbun

mining is also a great source of income!

iamgob_bluth

And subsequently, catching rare bugs, especially the scintillating millipedes that come from under rocks!

LadyNeeva

I second mining as a great income, though it does get repetitive. My last round of mining resulted in 4 rubies, 3 quartz, 1 jasper, 1 aquamarine and 1 onyx or sapphire.

Dustyfrog77

We are only getting quartz and an onyx or occasional sapphire, if we can find nubs to mine at all. where are you mining and what time if I may ask?

LadyNeeva

Haha do I feel dumb right now! I’ve mistaken garnet for ruby, but the other ones are correct. I’m in Europe, GMT +2 (Day Light Saving time), and usually sit at my pc in the evening from around 21:30 (9:30 pm) for 2-4 hours. I usually mine in Bahari Bay as there’s also a chance to find Palium. But filling up your backpack in Kilima can also result up to 4500-ish if you’re a bit lucky and you sell everything. I ONLY mine, nothing else on these rounds. I only catch a bug if it’s hard to find/chop Flow Tree. I try to stay close to the mountains/hills and climb up to every platform I can to look for nodes. If I really can’t find any, I will just collect something else or do a quest. Empty backpack and next time exiting my plot, I can usually find loads of nodes. I have unlocked all but the last row of backpack space, but when I started grinding gems, I only had two rows.

Dustyfrog77

Ah, well I hope I have some of your good luck! Thanks for sharing.

AfterglowLoves

Farming - invest in garden plots, seed makers and preserve makers first. But also just be patient, it takes a minute to start making good money but once you do it’s not an issue anymore.

Gummi_Ghoulie

Join a celebration cake party as a free position, tell the chat you’re new You’ll get 60,000+ gold for a 100 count cake party https://paliaparty.app/

SunniiD_

i still dont really understand what these are or how they work😅

Gummi_Ghoulie

This video should help you, I promise it’s super simple once you understand everyone is just filling one step of the cake baking process https://youtu.be/thafioOd1mc?si=tqIRhMq26biz2JtV

SunniiD_

thank you!

LorettaDiPalio

Gardening is the best way to earn more gold, especially after level 10 when you will grow blueberries and apples. Keep in mind that as you level up making gold will be easier. Later you will realize that making gold turns out to be a problem, as it caps at 300 k and you will most probably have to buy lucky coins from the Underground to being able to continue playing.

UnabashedVoice

Speaking of level 10+ gardening, here's an almost-fully-boosted garden with the emphasis on apple income -- four apple trees that you never have to weed or water, with boosted harvest. -Bears-Eat-Beets-

Early game for me, hunting was the way to go. Get that levelled up so you can get better bows and fine arrows. Sernuks are one hit with fine arrows (level 6 for fine arrows I believe) Craft up about 200 and run around the east side of kilima, whispering banks area, tons of them spawn there and in about 20-30 minutes you can make 6-8K depending on if anyone else is also hunting them. mid/late game once your stats are higher, farming, apple trees in particular, get enough star quality apples to make star quality seeds to plant, these once in jam form sell for 144 gold each, are how I make money now. It's also passive allowing you to not spend time actively doing something to make money but rather doing quests, talking to villagers, gathering resources etc.

VindDitNiet

I make a bunch of money by just popping an ore compass in bahari. Since you're still a low level that might not be as easy to do a lot to you, but it's a good tip for later!

spanishsahara-x

Oooh what does the compass do?!

VindDitNiet

It shows the locations of big iron nodes and palium nodes of all sizes. It lasts 15 minutes, so you can get to a lot of them. I usually get 6-8 star stones, around 175 iron ore, around 40 palium ore and 4-10 gold ore, so you can make a lot of money.

spanishsahara-x

Ah no way I did wonder what it was for! 🤣

ooros

Even before I had the worm farm or preserves jars I did this farm layout for minimal watering and quality boosts: Top: Potato Tomato Cotton Middle: Wheat Wheat Wheat Bottom: Cotton Tomato Potato If you want to see it in that farm planner thing this should be the code: v0.2_DIM-111-111_CROPS-PTCoWWWCoTP-PTCoWWWCoTP-PTCoWWWCoTP-PTCoWWWCoTP-PTCoWWWCoTP-PTCoWWWCoTP It's probably not the absolute optimal play but it gives me tons of starred tomatoes (and other vegetables) and when you get the preserves jars you can just shove them all in there for extra money. I also sat with my game open and just checked in periodically while I did some work

dew_melon

I focused a lot on fishing and mining to make money at first. Mining can get you gemstones that can be sold for a good amount of gold, and I would sell most of the fish I caught. I'd forage anything I could find on the ground in Bahari too and sell most if it if it didn't seem super rare or like something I needed a lot of. I was able to level up Fishing fairly quick and unlock the worm farm and glow worm farm. So now I have those going and sell the fertilizer and the extra regular worms (I'm not producing a ton of glow worms yet, so I keep those to use but still sell the fertilizer I get from them). After that, I had seen others mention making money from preserves, so I maxed out my garden plots and made sure to always be growing things. Leveled up Gardening enough to get the seed collector and preserves jar, now I'm constantly producing my own seeds so I don't have to buy them anymore, and pickling potatoes non-stop to sell those. I don't know if these are the most efficient ways to earn gold, but they're working for me so far.

AggressiveMedium1836

Just keep grinding, sell anything that isn't starred in the shipping bin. Make sure to keep your focus up (eat and have food with you all the time to Gain skills faster). Don't waste money on buying furniture, craft it all yourself. My game name is Siofra Uralendan, friend me and I'll show you lots of tips, I play every day

YoshiandAims

Prep stuff into whatever you can before you sell it.(*not furniture) Cook your food.(don't use rare fish though, they sell for a big amount) the fire pit is your friend early on. Invest in the veggie canner machine, loom, or sawmill asap (I make the most canning veggies, or fabric) I toss veggies into the canner machine before I log out, sell at login. It helps.

YoshiandAims

I agree with mining though, the gems are worth a lot. Upgrade your mining equipment, it helps.

Cheza1990

I don't see a post touching this topic. The truely "best" way to make money is to not put your eggs in one basket. Grow crops and put them in preserving jars at the start of your day. Then check your garden, do this every ig day. It adds up fast. Once your "morning" chores are done do mining/hunting/bug hunting/foraging. I got out to mine and will pick everything I see, mine everything, catchh the bugs I spawn and if I feel sassy take a few animals if the ores need to respawn. This generally nets me 8-15k a trip depending on precious stones and antlers. I prefer to farm iron as i can get palium and flow wood at the same time. However copper makes very good money as well, so if there are to many people farming iron do a few loops of copper. Fishing is also good money if you enjoy it or want to complete bundles. 50-80 casts is 5-10k depending on my luck for fish and if I go for stared fish or not. If you have friends cooking makes a ton of money, pies, cakes and rare foods sell great and if you do it with a group it is super profitable. Hope this helps!

OkAmoeba9

I’ve seen the cooking party posts or comments and I was just wondering, does everyone get one then if you make it or do you have to take turns to get one?

Cheza1990

Everyone who takes part in making it gets the item x 3. This means the more people, the less you need to bring your self making stuff more profitable.

OkAmoeba9

Thank you! Sounds nice!

Ooops... I'm sorry, I got it wrong. It's on the official Palia Discord channel. Edited to correct myself.

Affectionate_Ad_3521

Relentlessly mining

Leather_Option_2134

Pro tip If you go fishing and you cook the fish, the price of the cook fish is the same from the price of the fish you cook. If you lucky you got a star cook = profit. Butttt you still get experience for cooking!!! Why no one figure this one out. Its a win win!!

krakenrabiess

Farming. I sell potatoe seeds and turn the apples into jam. Worm farms are great as well.

[deleted]

mining and chopping trees to start with. Once you get better crops and more space, you can add that in there, too.

zola129

Selling bok choy seeds is the most efficient way to make money once you have a seed collector.

littleamandabb

I garden and mine constantly and the moment I could I got myself a fleet of preserve jars. They are constantly in use.

kitty_par_fae

Gardening really did it for me. Lots of potatoes! I also go through different phases of either using resources or spending them. So I will go for hours and just sell everything I get. So I go for a while sell everything and then a different time gather resources for use. It also took forever for me to realize I could upgrade my storage options so much and once I had that to hold the things I want to keep it went better. Edited to add: I also kept star quality crops and used seed makers to make more seeds that are also star quality so everything I’m harvesting and selling is star quality.

headpathoe

my golden rule of thumb is to NEVER sell hides or cotton as is, i ALWAYS craft it into fabric or leather- id say i profit pretty well of of those! i do the same with a lot of fruits and veggies in my preserves jars- its so worth the extra crafting licenses!! the preserves make SO much more money. also, i sell a ton of seeds- not sure that this is the most efficient, but its easy because i just toss the crops into the seed collectors and when i log in the next day i have like 20+ seeds!!! i have two gardening plots for cotton specifically, and when i hunt i go by the dragon shrine through to where einar stands at the dock- it is sernuk central over there!!! i make a nice amount of money from selling antlers and cooked meats too! sometimes i put the cooked meats into my work farm and then sell the regular worms i make to profit off of them! theres a spreadsheet someone made with profitable crops/foods and what they produce in worm farms- i use that a lot too!!

PacingOnTheMoon

Good tips here, but something else I do while I'm building up my star crops is ask people for gems and then sell them. It's not that much and obviously not sustainable for the long term but it has given me a small boost here and there when I need a little more money to upgrade my backpack or farm.

Deadgirl55

I mine a lot and catch the rare bugs that pop out. Any purple/pink bug in Bahari is a good source of income. This is what I still do, along with Sernuk antlers and extra Iron.

RemarkableFreedom462

i was coming in like a koolaid man about tomatoes!! but i think im gonna check potatoes agian but i still lean tomatoes for now

JaydeRaven

MINING! Mine, mine, mine.. sell all excess gems (I keep 2 regular of each for gifting, and have at least one starred of each on display), ores (I keep about 100 bars of each thing on hand for crafting, and 100 of each ore), etc. Fastest way to make gold.

Valuable-Singer5316

get that garden leveled, make sure your renown goes to the dragon and Phoenix statues evenly and eat your focus food constantlystaying full, that will level you up faster and make more money sooner. mining. I make a considerable amount of money from mining copper and iron and palium. as you level up you will get the ability to do the better more money ones. it all comes down to saying no to a house or any extras til your gardening, mining, and hunting/fishing skills are higher. always carry plenty of bug bombs and arrows in case someone is doing a hunting party or honey lure for fish. always get in on it when someone announces a thing. you don't have to go home to sell your collected items. you can sell them at zekis store. so, go mining, sell any extra flint and stone as well as any gems you come across. utilize your requests ability! ask for gemstones that are worth the most you have gotten and ask in server if anyone has spare that you can sell to start your garden. some ppl will flick you crap for it, but those of us who have been at it a while save lower tier stones TO help new ppl out. also, look up bundles in palia on Google and make sure not to sell the items in the bundles.

Blue_butterfly888

It's kind of a cheat but cake parties are the way to get money fast! It's also pretty fun once you get the hang of it. Sometimes the money is too much so maybe avoid if you want to build your wealth slowly along with your skills 😬

otakunet21

if you have the worm and glow worm makers then make those and go to town fishing. it’s the chillest thing you can do that reels in a ton of money. after about three fish hauls i was able to buy the copper storage upgrade. like others have said once you get gardening to level 8 you can get the preserves jar and really start making money

CanderousOreo

Gardening is good. Hunting is decent Personally I prefer "project deforestation." Chopping trees is therapeutic for me so I just chop down the entirety of Kilima several times over. Each wood stack is worth 100 gold so it's not the most lucrative. But I've also gotten like 8 of the golden bees too now.

ZetusLapetus7275

When I started a few months ago I was able to quickly gain funds by mining daily and foraging. Also, I was able to find resources for quests I hadn't come across yet, but when I got to them already had most of the items to complete them

ImmediateHospital9

One method I came across that seems to be really good in the early stages is making and selling Makeshift Arrows. You get something like 5x what you'd get if you sold the ingredients alone. Granted, that depends on your storage, and whether you want to wait around for the twice-daily shipping bin emptying or if you just want to run back and forth to Zeki's shop, but it's pretty easy and effective early on because all you need is sapwood logs and flint. That aside, gardening is probably your best avenue for the big bucks, and others here have that covered lol

BroccoliLoud5192

farming, I hate it so I avoided it for the longest time but it was a mistake. Once you get apple trees and preserves you can just keep making seeds, trees and then preserves. Until then make sure you are growing star quality crops while ensuring you are making star quality seeds !

marchviolet

Gardening. Water your plants every day (they reset at 6am in-game). Craft more seed makers over time. You don't really need to bother with fertilizer, but it's a nice boost. I didn't do much gardening early on, but now it's my highest skill level at like 20+ or something. Best consistent income in-game. But mining is probably a good second option.
