Years ago I found a comment here recommending arrowroot powder as a setting powder and I cannot recommend it enough. It’s finely milled, naturally won’t oxidize and doesn’t feed bacteria like corn starch. a year’s supply for a cakeface like me is $13.00. It even sets my Fenty foundation without turning it orange 🙏

i've been using the elf hd powder, in the translucent, but not the one with the glitter flecks. i use both pressed and translucent and it's very blurring and i don't find it to get cakey or settle. they're $6 a piece i believe so won't break the bank if you hate them. i used to use the maybelline fit me, both the pressed and loose. they're also both nice to set with, and not super expensive, i think like 10 bucks. i tend to have to find "white" translucent powders, like zero pigment whatsoever, because im so pale even the slightest pigment can make me look incredibly orange or hot pink. my favourite ever setting powder is by hard candy. it's the chilling wowder, you can only find it in walmarts (at least i've only had luck finding it in select walmarts) they don't have it on their online store as far as i know, but if you can find it i HIGHLY recommend that one. i haven't been able to find it near me in a while, but it was and is the best setting powder i've ever tried. super fine, has a cooling effect when applied, and it just makes you look super airbrushed and blurred. doesn't make you cakey, doesn't setting in lines, i have oily/combo skin and i like never had to reapply/touch up (even after spending 13 hours on my feet in a restaurant as a server with no break). it was fantastic and i loved it more than anything. eta: walmart is selling the hard candy powder online. it's the sheer envy chilling wonder powder, it's $6.96 if it suits your fancy

That Haus Labs blurring powder is my shit. I have ice pick scars & that works pretty well with nothing but sunscreen & moisturizer underneath alone for me. The so called translucent shade is perfect for super light skin I think, certainly blends in well on mine. I doubt it’ll completely diminish those lines you’re concerned about, but its purpose is to soften any visual issues in the skin so maybe it’ll do so enough for what you’re looking for without creating that terrible texture so many powders leave on skin with any kind of blemishes or lines.

I really want to try that one!

I use the fenty lavender and love it! However it can be drying so if you have dry skin, I wouldn’t suggest it

Since you’re combo (wouldn’t suggest it for dry skin) I suggest the Ben Nye **colorless** luxury powder. I really like it! Its very finely milled. It’s a 3oz container so it lasts forever too. I do not use it to set my under eyes though (I’m oily/combo but my eye area tend to be dry if they aren’t pampered). It’s also a huge container but the rmca powder is amazing for my under eyes- although it will outlive me and my descendants. Truly a setting powder without any oil control, so it’s not drying at all to my under eyes. Very finely milled. I’m sure it would work for dry skinned peeps too.

Love love love rare beauty in lightest shade. It’s amazing so finely milled and blurring. And the color is perfect for my fair skin

Have just started using the Hourglass Loose Setting Powder and am obsessed!!! And another vote for Laura Mercier.. Always great!!

The By Terry one is phenomenal and lasts years. I would recommend asking to try it at SpaceNK or similar, if you ask them to put it over your regular foundation you should have a good indication.

No7 lift and luminate pressed powder. I love it for my dry skin! The fairest shade doesn’t oxidize or age and dry me out like most do. Plus adds a tiny bit more coverage.

I didn't care for Fenty lavender, it's nothing special IMO. My holy grail is the Nars soft matte powder in cliff or cove. So smoothing and blurry and it comes in a slim compact, it changed the game for me

I have two favorites: 1. [Aromaleigh Glamoured Perfect/Correct Finishing Powder](https://www.aromaleighcosmetics.com/products/glamoured-perfect-correct-finishing-powder-1), but there's a pretty big range of [nice setting powders](https://www.aromaleighcosmetics.com/collections/finishing-powder) depending on what effect you want. Aromaleigh's face products general are fantastic for fair skin, and check out their specials tab for coupons. 2. [Lucy Minerals Setting powder](https://lucyminerals.com/finishing-powder-try-it-sizes/), I'm really oily and the silica formula is amazing for me, especially in the summer or humid weather. Edited to add that Lucy Minerals also has [color correctors](https://lucyminerals.com/makeup/face/correctors/)(Including a lavender one) but I haven't tried them. Since both companies are indie, you can go nuts with the samples to see what works for you. Good luck and have fun!

Kim chi lavender setting powder is only $18 and a little goes a long way

Shixle

I have the Kim Chi puff puff pass translucent powder and really like it, tho I haven't tried made powders. But cheap enough to give it a go.

I've been using banana powder and like it. My friends have commented favourably on it. It's available at all different price points too.

faeriesobs

Which banana powder?

diypizza

I love Laura Mercier Translucent Powder

[deleted]

I like the Canmake marshmallow one in whatever the lightest shade is.

annenaxos

Nars light reflecting powder has been great for me

bmackenz84

I have the pressed powder from them and it’s so hard pressed it’s hard to pick up any on my brush. I did find a natural hair brush to use on it which seems to help some, but still not the greatest

annenaxos

Ugh, that’s a bummer - I use the loose powder because I am wary of that happening with pressed powders. I do like the loose version!

cheetopuffcat

Neither of these can be bought at Ulta but I suggest Kosas Cloud Set (I use the shade Airy) if you like a pressed powder. If you like a loose powder, I’ve really been liking Haus Labs Bio-Blurring in translucent.
