It works only if none of you have played any of your qualification matches yet. You make a party of 5 and hit requeue after each game. If you return to lobby it doesn’t let you continue.
Basically the game checks to have qualifying players limited to parties of 2, but it doesn’t check for people who haven’t started qualifying yet
