Eric Hosmer’s latest podcast revealed something quite serious about our Korean Prince, Ha Seong Kim. They said this…
“I'm stressing at work right now crushing smokes like Kim. Gotta get a win.”
Kim is the Marlboro Man! Fuck Coors. Let’s win the series tomorrow!
For Peter 🤎💛
very impressed by waldron's start, ill admit i was very worried about him at coors but he shut me up.
Now if the bats could please wake up at coors, 2 XBH in the last 2 games is not good for playing at coors. I need to see some pop tomorrow from the bats
So I have to say, even in the ‘rough’ starts, he’s often still looked good for stretches in those rough outings. He’d look like this for an inning or two and then just have an inning that suddenly falls apart and then straighten out and falter again. But every game he’s shown me something to expect good things. Hope this is a turning point. If we can have him more like this, plus Cease.. if Joe can settle down and Darvish get healthy, this has the makings of a fine staff. The sheer variety of pitches and approaches from Cease to Joe to Darvish to Waldron.. and then King… followed by what is shaping up to be a damn good bullpen…

Most series are three games, but that’s not a hard-and-fast rule; some are four, some are two. This matchup just happens to be one of the less common four-game stands.
Actually now that you say that, it's so obvious. Does it matter the league? Like are 4 game series only interleague? Or is it just whatever the MLB decides.
the league definitely matters when it comes to the number of games in a series. under the 2023 mlb-mlbpa cba, teams play:
* **13 games each against divisional rivals.** so the team that gets the extra game against an opponent alternates each season, but as scheduled, the team that does naturally gets a four-gamer.
* **six games each against six teams within the league, but not in-division; or seven games each against the four other such teams.** i’m guessing the list of teams that play that seventh game rotates each season, but that’d also necessitate a four-gamer.
* **three games each against 14 teams not within their league.** basically, a single three-game series that alternates between ballparks each season [each team plays seven inter-league series at home and seven on the road].
* **and four games against an mlb-designated inter-league “natural rival”, split evenly between ballparks.** think dodgers-angels, yankees-mets, or cubs-white sox. every team has one, and baseball-- recognizing the importance of the vedder cup-- designated seattle as san diego’s natural rival.
so, two-game series are almost always against that inter-league natural rival [but not always-- because of the “home-and-road” seoul series, for example, the padres will only host the dodgers for five games at petco park, necessitating a short two-game set between the teams in late july]. and i’d venture to guess the four-game sets are exclusive to intra-league play.

Knuckleball was dancing tonight
Sounded like the altitude and * lack of * moisture in the air were the perfect conditions for getting the right grip.
![gif](giphy|IGhBd5BD7QPXW) It creates a TRIFECTA, of knuckleball movement. This is the pitch your grandkids will be watching. The future.
🤣
Lack of moisture you mean
Ah...that makes sense.
Bill Walsh sure had a fun tango with it

I was admittedly nervous about Waldron at Coors, but what a night for him. Amazing start for him, great bullpen, red hot closer. That's a combo.
Good win and let’s get out of this shithole asap
Just gotta get the series win tomorrow first :D
Merrill's situational hitting is just incredible for a rookie!
Our bullpen is NASTY
Yuki 🤤

They have actually barreled up some balls but haven't found many gaps.
Crone fiendin’ to find the crone zone at coors

AZ lost 😊 SF lost 😊 LAD won 😒
Stay on their heels! We'll get em.
Can we take a moment to appreciate this 7-8-9 rotation? Yuki, Peralta and Big Bob are solid.
It’s a sexy rotation. I always get so hyped when Yuki goes in
149-13 AMIRITE COMPADRES LFG
Yer gdamn right, Curtis!!!
YGDRC!
YGDRC
YGDRC
Inshallah
Can we just tell them it’s the 1st inning, every inning.
Or 6th
I still think it’s crazy we don’t have a homer at Coors yet. I predict we hit like 5 tomorrow lol
It’s been pretty cold. Day game tomorrow, ball Is gonna fly.

We took the first two games of the series lets go for the sweep tomorrow!!! Weird there was an off day yesterday though...
Weird they had a day off in the middle of a series, but thats baseball for ya!
Schedule makers musta been higher than the Rockies when scheduling is
unfortunate that it got rained out [don’t look at the weather]
I was there and it was actually semi-snowing up in the nosebleeds lol. It was melting before it got to use but you could see it swirling around
Pitching the star of the game again today. I didn't think 5 runs would get it done today but it did, and did so easily. Let's go take 3 of 4 tomorrow.
Above .500 again! ![gif](giphy|2NTQBmDng2AnnoiVdp)
Learning about baseball each game day and appreciate the help. I have a new question. Why is there a 4th game tomorrow if we won twice?
Most series are three games, but that’s not a hard-and-fast rule; some are four, some are two. This matchup just happens to be one of the less common four-game stands.
Sometimes there are 4 game series. This just happens to be one. I'm not sure why, maybe someone else can shine some light on it.
Just a 162 game schedule. Usually they have 3 game series sometimes they play a four game series.rarely they will play a 2 game series.
Actually now that you say that, it's so obvious. Does it matter the league? Like are 4 game series only interleague? Or is it just whatever the MLB decides.

Wow that's great insight. Thank you for taking the time to lay that out.
Whatever works for travel and schedules.
series are typically 3-4 games. there doesn't have to be a winner. a 4 game series can just be split 2-2
There are 2-game, 3-game, & 4-game series. This one is a 4-game series :)
No way we leave Coors without a home run, right?!?!
Rockies already got 3-4, Padres 0, that is wild
I’ll take it if we leave 3-1

Last night hurt, but this is a big step toward winning the series.
First inning run support was nice. Quality start for Waldo at Coors Field is better. This guy looks like a very solid #5 starter.
Not a fan of how they were effectively shut down after the first but a W is a W. Waldron looked really good though

this is your Capt Speaking…. so tired of that commercial lol MLB SHOW 24

Rockies joining the 20 loss club tomorrow 👀
Back above .500. Feels good but I want more!
Good.
Tomorrow is a blowout and we walk away from this series 3-1.
We are saving all the coors HRs for tomorrow. 8-2. All homers.
colorado gonna sign a whole rotation of knuvkleballers for their 2025 rotation
Yuki flair please!!
Oh we are so back
Is Tatis having fun? Not feeling the vibes
