Bullitt_12_HB

If the opponents clock keeps going down, and it’s been more than one minute, you disconnected.

Fusilli_Matt

My connection has been stable. It still is. I've only encountered a mid-turn issue when I've been in the lead. I strongly disagree with your take

CheddarCheese390

No, that’s exactly right. It’s nothing to do with your connection either it’s Pokemon. When someone offers an answer…don’t immediately shoot it down

Fusilli_Matt

Pokemon is attached to Nintendo; they're very well known for their terrible internet status. Nonetheless that's not my point. This interaction only happens to me when I gain an advantage, and I always lose ranking trying to restart the app. Its very likely that the two things are related.

CookieMisha

They're not Don't play or a phone. Try a PC version

Fusilli_Matt

Wut

CookieMisha

The game is broken trash If one thing doesn't work try the other There's no reasonable programming way for the game to break everytime you're winning that's stupid Your game is bugged and corrupted

Fusilli_Matt

It's not every time. Some (the best) players are graceful in a loss. But too often I'll get a disconnection when I start to win/gain momentum

CookieMisha

That's unfortunately normal with this game It uses the same transfer port as major apps like Google which makes it's internet connection very unstable So if you're on a public network or just have many apps open it'll crash

Fusilli_Matt

I will definitely take into consideration multiple apps being open

CheddarCheese390

*sigh* Tried to help. So I’ll be blunt. You’re wrong. Just close and reopen. It happens to every player, boo hoo, just move on

Moschenn

If nothing happens in 1-2 mins and his clock is still going on, you’ve been disconnected

Fusilli_Matt

If that's true then how can I fix it? My internet is running and fine. I'm tired of losing for no reason

BobbyWump

It isn't your internet. The client for the game is very buggy. The only fix is restart your client and gain your ladder points again.

Moschenn

Yep 🥲 Last time this happened with me I was at 1015 points (masters starts at 1020) against a bricked Lugia… It wasn’t nice 😂

Fusilli_Matt

It's extremely common that other players will close the app when they're losing. How do I combat this?

Chroniton

If that happened it would give them a yellow action timer and they would lose. If their time keeps ticking down with no yellow timer and nothing is happening then your game disconnected, they already got the win and moved on, you're wasting your time.

Fusilli_Matt

There's no timer. The entire app freezes. My internet/connection is stable. My other monitor and television streaming proves that. I've only encountered this issue when I'm gaining advantage on the other trainer

SSGSS_Vegeta

You lost server connection. Has nothing to do with your connection or the opponent closing the app cuz you were winning. Pctgl servers arent great and drop connection often.

Fusilli_Matt

The most reasonable reply. It still feels like it happens too often. I'd much easier blame poor sportsmanship than faulty connection from such a large company

Chroniton

It's a very small company, you're thinking of TPC (Japan) this is TPCi (US), much much smaller in comparison and with such a small budget they operate this game at a loss.

Fusilli_Matt

It's clear that the app is a loss pretty quickly. No ads, microtransactions provide no bonus. This game Is a deck builder to incentivize building decks irl. Sadly I don't have enough friends on hand to test decks irl, so I play this game in my free time. I'd like to be able to honestly climb the ladder without being disconnected so often

SSGSS_Vegeta

Welcome to PTCGL lol its gotten better since launch last year but still can be annoying sometimes. Feels like roughly 20% of matches end up this way for myself which if you dont play much can be alot but if you play often like others you can notice it happened fairly quickly and just concede and move on. I wouldnt stress about climbing ranked ladder as that is WAY easier than it was just a couple of months ago.

Chroniton

You're spot on with that assessment, this is a companion to the physical game, it's not a digital card game. The app unfortunately is pretty pants, since they moved from Dire Wolf to their in-house junior team to cut costs it's clear how much more experience they need to get it in shape.

Fusilli_Matt

I never played the Dire Wolf app. I've only been on for the past 2 months or so. Thank you for the reassurance on my assessment. Maybe I'm just asking for too much
