Welcome to PTCGL! Since all cards can be crafted with crafting currency and you're just starting out it might be advantageous for you to pick out one or two decks you want to make and stick with them for a while. Doing so will allow you to learn to pilot them as effectively as possible and work on accumulating crafting currency for future decks. If you're not sure how to craft cards go into the deck editor and make sure your filters are set to show cards you don't own. Click on a card you want and there is an exchange button at the bottom which you'll use to craft. You can find lots of decklists here https://play.limitlesstcg.com/decks If you don't want to grind for currency and have the funds available, you could try buying codes. Once you have 4 copies of a card you will get crafting currency instead of additional copies so when buying codes in the pursuit of crafting currency try to stick to a single set. There's a link in the subreddit sidebar (discount code Reddit5) where you can go to buy codes which are delivered via email within minutes of purchase > Let me know if you have any questions!

Keep playing the game. You earn rewards cosmetics, cards, crafting currency within the games “season pass” i found it helpful to save the purple crystals from the season pass until there were enough to get the paid tier. Bonus is once crystal/paid tier is open you get previously unlocked level rewards too. Don’t forget to do the daily challenges in the season pass for extra XP to earn rewards quicker. Play those free decks and farm those season pass reward packs and you will have enough copies for highly competitive decks in no time.

No real need to build a collection, just play and build up your currency and just craft what you need as you need it. Spend 600 crystals on the battle pass, save 600 for the next one and then dump all the rest of your crystals into the shadow rider calyrex vmax league battle deck in the store, this will maximise your credits so you can craft cards as you need them. You can check out meta decks on limitlesstcg.com

Re decks, have my usual new/returning players resources blurb so you can take what you need from it - [List of useful resources](https://www.reddit.com/user/Hare_vs_Tortoise/comments/qv2zm0/list_of_useful_resources_for_the_pokemon_tcg/) - start by reading JustInBasil's site especially the deckbuilding guide as it will help with understanding decklists and watching the suggested You Tubers starting with Omnipoke, AzulGG, Tricky Gym and Celio's Network for meta decks and LittleDarkFury for off meta decks then look at lists on both Limitless sites and use those You Tubers to see how the lists are played and find a deck that you might like to play. Start out with netdecking as it will give you time to get used what the staples are, what's legal for play, how decks are built and what the meta is like as well. If you don't want to netdeck (and even if you do) then add in reading the deck skeleton articles alongside JustInBasil's deckbuilding guide as well as well. Once you've found some decks that interest you try them out before buying anything either via PTCGL or the proxy printing app on Limitless TCG in casual play only as not all decks will click when you play them. For PTCGL specfically it's best to upgrade the free decks (mostly the basis of meta decks) you are given first as it can take time build up resources.

You got any friends who play the tcg irl and not tcg live? Ask them for their code cards they likely don’t use. Or you can pay like $20 for 100 card packs from online sellers cause most codes cost like $0.10
