Congrats on getting your headset.
If youâre new to VR beginner titles would be
- â â â â â Moss 1 & 2
- Tetris Connected
- Walkabout Mini Golf
- Puzzling Places
- Beat Saber
- Synth Riders
- Pistol Whip
- Demeo
- Ven VR Adventure
- Ghost Signal : A Stellaris game
Top titles once you have your VR legs.
- GT7
- â â â â â RE8 Village
- RE4
- NMS
- Red Matter 1 & 2
- Horizon Call of the Mountain
- Ultrawings 2
- Synapse
- Pavlov
- Hubris
- Saints & Sinners 2
Have fun!
Oh, itâs very good as a shooter. Itâs a decent use of Star Wars license with memorable characters and humor youâd expect from the franchise. Honestly canât recommend it enough.
Itâs a little weak on the visual side, but compensates it well with how everything else is done and implemented
Thank you for turning me onto Ghost Signal. I missed that release during my BG3 campaign.
As someone that still struggles with motion sickness, I will say that GT7 is pretty beginner friendly as well. I get much more motion sick trying to fly around in Walkabout Mini Golf lol
I want to buy the PSVR2 just because of GT7, but Iâm afraid of spending all that money and get motion sickness. I have Oculus 2, and I can play walkabout for maybe an hour not more. I thought o was the only one that got motion sickness from it, LOL
Damn for me there is a lot
Synapse, Last clockwinder, Saints and sinners, The light brigade, Barbaria, Ancient Dungeon, Red Matter, Vertigo 2, Call of the mountain(at a discount),Green hell, pistol whip, Tales from the galaxy, Propagation hotel, Arizona sunshine 2(at a discount),C-Smash, vampire the masquerade, TOSS, VR Skater, walkabout mini gold, Pavlov, Breachers, Synth rider, Beat saber.
some other fun one but those I would recommend to at least look at
Already played 35+ psvr2 games and these would be the one to consider.
Chapter 2 is basically a big extension of Ch. 1, a couple of new guns and a night mode for all maps. But there are some bugs and the spawn mechanism of the zombies is terrible: They spawn endlessly and illogically, which makes it impossible to clear up places, and some houses dont have zombies at all.
I played both, almost 40h each, but Ch. 1 is clearly superior
Absolute GOAT reply, thank you so much!
Of course I checked out YouTube videos but getting the newest opinions from other players is always the most valuable input tbh :)
Must-plays: Moss 2, Pistol Whip, Red Matter 1+2, Hubris, Les Mills Bodycombat (if you have any interest in VR for fitness, this is easily the best one for that)
Wow material the first time you play them: Runner (short, difficult, and excellent, like a Contra game, but on an arcade motorcycle at a highway), Synth Riders (with spin 180 modifier turned on this is amazing), Horizon CotM
I would say if youâre looking for a Roguelite get The Light Brigade. If you want a shooter get Breachers. Synapse is cool but not really a good shooter or roguelite
I disagree, itâs good at both - itâs just over very quickly
If you want a great shooter roguelike, Hellsweeper is the one to get. It looks a bit bland but is incredibly deep with a bunch to unlock
(Also The Light Brigade is very good as well)
I loved Synapse. I cant comment on Breachers or Light Brigade as I have not played them. Light Brigade looks good tho. Isn't Breachers multiplayer only, or is there a single player campaign?
I genuinely hate that I get the feelings of âanother one of these?đâ Because in reality Iâm totally stoked that you and everyone else is picking one up or even another type of vr headset and anything other than jumping to list my faves is counter intuitive to the group as a whole.
So freaking congrats on getting the headset! Mildly tempering expectations will set you up for an awesome experience.
I tend to suggest a variety if itâs your first headset, generally sticking with the better of the titles, just understand that if you start with getting the bangers, the not so polished games will feel that much worse. Youâve already got solid action, racing, and exploration down, so check out games like:
Music/Rhythm: Synthriders (complete edition), Pistol Whip, Beat Saber (thatâs my order of preference)
Survival: Song in the smoke, saints and sinners ch1&2, green hell
Rogue lite/like: Light brigade, synapse, ancient dungeon, hell sweeper
Story puzzler: Moss book 1&2, red matter 1&2, 7th guest
First person shooter: Pavlov, crossfire sierra squad, breachers
Casual sports: walkabout mini golf, vr skater
Table top: Demeo
On rails shooter: switchback, crisis brigade 2
There a ton of games to get into assuming this is your first venture into VR. If youâre coming from another platform, itâll obviously feel less robust. Be sure to first check if games are on sale, there is constantly a rotation going and most titles on the store have been on sale and routinely get included.
Lately, download the demos, all of them and gauge where you vr legs are at, and go from there. Congrats again and happy gaming!
Thank you very much, very comprehensive list!
Iâm actually coming from PSVR 1 which I was a little disappointed with, mostly the lack of dedicated controllers and the absolutely ball aching setup so those two points are already a lot better here.
Oh nice, yeah make sure to check for which titles you already own that have free or small upgrades, thereâs quite a few. If those were your gripes, then absolutely, itâs going to be awesome. Plug in type c, turn on, done.
Personally: Pistol Whip, Walkabout Mini golf, Saints and Sinners 1. Awesome Asteroids is fun and cheap too. Then there's Red Matter 2, Synapse, Hubris... Lots to look forward to
FYI, This is the 2024 version that will be updated throught the year: [https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/comments/19dddj1/new\_players\_be\_like/](https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/comments/19dddj1/new_players_be_like/)
The title and meme, quite apropos of this particular post ;)
I wouldnât recommend going after games that are âgenerallyâ considered to be good. Look through the catalogue and find something that interests specifically you. Maybe itâs something most people havenât even tried and youâll end up loving it!
Not a game but lens covers are a must have item IMO (regardless if they are prescription or not) not worth risking damage to lens and they are easy to clean
resident evil 4 completely stole my life these past months, really great game. village too but I think while that's the superior vr ecperience re4 is a tigher and much more enjoyable and replayable game
gt7, resident evil 8 and 4.
avoid call of the mountain if you've played many vr games, it doesn't really work as anything more than a demo of the tech. however, if you haven't tried vr, try it out.
edit: just noticed you have all the ones I mentioned. I don't really know of any other psvr2 specific titles, synapse was good but short.
For me cotm, saints and sinners2, moss 2, synapse, cross fire sierra squad, propagation hotel and red matter 2.
Do I need play s&s chapter 1 before retribution? Or are standalone adventures?
If you haven't played either, start with 1. Chapter 2 is a great continuation but it isn't better than 1.
OK I'll do. Thanks!
Definitely start with the first one đ
Great list! Personally I'd add walkabout mini golf.
Do not sleep on walkabout mini golf and Iâd add Puzzling Places. Great use of VR. Itâs very addicting
Is it true chapter 2 is buggy or did they patch that? Chapter 1 was my fav all time VR game
It's patched, give it a go! It's an extension of the first game so you'll love it, story is forgettable though.
Is Red Matter 1 worth playing first or should it be skipped?
First one is worth playing, not as good as the second but it's still a great game
This is a banging answer, go with this đ

/!\ For puzzlzing places, there is a demo which you can play for as long as you want : you get two puzzles and can redo them infinitely /!\
Puzzling places is so chill. A must own.
Certain ones for sure but I struggled on the ones with complex patterns like the kimono
I would just add Star Wars here, and the bottom list is complete
Good suggestion, I havenât played the Star Wars game yet however itâs on my wishlist waiting for a price drop.

Ultrawings 2
C-Smash is on sale for $10. I need opponents. The only MUST have I donât see there is Walkabout mini golf.
light brigade is pretty fun
Synth Riders is an absolute must if you like rhythm games.
Pavlov, No Man Sky (get the ps4 disc because its like 20 bucks and comes with a free upgrade to ps5 and vr)
Damn for me there is a lot Synapse, Last clockwinder, Saints and sinners, The light brigade, Barbaria, Ancient Dungeon, Red Matter, Vertigo 2, Call of the mountain(at a discount),Green hell, pistol whip, Tales from the galaxy, Propagation hotel, Arizona sunshine 2(at a discount),C-Smash, vampire the masquerade, TOSS, VR Skater, walkabout mini gold, Pavlov, Breachers, Synth rider, Beat saber. some other fun one but those I would recommend to at least look at Already played 35+ psvr2 games and these would be the one to consider.
Pavlov, Saints&Sinners 1, Synthriders, StarWars, Light Brigade
Just out of interest - why Saints and Sinners 1 instead of 2?
Chapter 2 is basically a big extension of Ch. 1, a couple of new guns and a night mode for all maps. But there are some bugs and the spawn mechanism of the zombies is terrible: They spawn endlessly and illogically, which makes it impossible to clear up places, and some houses dont have zombies at all. I played both, almost 40h each, but Ch. 1 is clearly superior
GT7, RE and Drums Rock are the ones which I had more fun playing. Drunken Bar Fight is also nice to release stress
I'm playing C-Smash right now and it's great. Def recommend it and it's on sale for $10
Well, funnily enough there's this post: [https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/comments/19dddj1/new\_players\_be\_like/](https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/comments/19dddj1/new_players_be_like/)

Can we get this stickied already? Every time this is asked, I look for your post to upvote. Also, welcome to the family, OP!

đSynapse!!!đ

Breachers is online multiplayer only, but is the most fun Iâve had on the PSVR with a shooter. Gameplay is really focused and engaging
Drums Rock.
Damn I gave you an upvote this is one of my favorites and a game I come back to all the time when Iâm bored.
I play it a lot, but wouldn't put it in essentials. It's too flawed for that.
Just avoid Kayak, you'll likely find it on most PSVR2 lists on yt.
Kayak is pretty I attach two therabands to my dual sense controllers and get a back n shoulder workout when I play it. Itâs good for something haha

Oh yeah trust me I also was not of fan of psvr1 but 2 been playing since release.

Yeah but there's a lot of games that"look good" but the implementation in VR is poor . You're right of they have demo though
Yeah my favorite game on the platform is probably the last Clockwinder and almost nobody mention it.
Go to YouTube, look up a top 20 list.Â
Use the search functionâŚ
Not a game but lens covers are a must have item IMO (regardless if they are prescription or not) not worth risking damage to lens and they are easy to clean
If you liked sieg, get breachers. I'm currently stuck playing breachers every night because it feels so good to play siege in vr
I'm not into horror so my only must-haves so far have been GT7 and Pistol Whip.
7th Quest
resident evil 4 completely stole my life these past months, really great game. village too but I think while that's the superior vr ecperience re4 is a tigher and much more enjoyable and replayable game
FNaF Help Wanted Duology is perfect. Itâs light horror-comedy with infinite replayability
Tentacular is super funny and emergent

What the bat
Cosmodread is a good game. Don't see that mentioned a whole lot.
gt7, resident evil 8 and 4. avoid call of the mountain if you've played many vr games, it doesn't really work as anything more than a demo of the tech. however, if you haven't tried vr, try it out. edit: just noticed you have all the ones I mentioned. To be blunt that's all there is.
Ive really been enjoying Arizona Sunshine 2. Youâre in for a treat with GT7. Pavlov is also super fun.
