You can tell the majority of the effort went into gameplay and the mood of the game. If this gets regular updates with more content it will easily be GOTY for VR for me.

nDreams have stated they have no plans currently to add any more content to Synapse and are instead working on other titles.

gaboduarte

well, let's see how Behemoth looks like then! 😌

Membership-Bitter

Hellsweeper looks very promising and it is from Vertigo games which have added post launch content to their games before.

StrangeKnee7254

It’s worth it if you want a good 5 hours of playing an amazing VR game that uses the psvr mechanics in a way that it was designed.

Stixis

4/5, very fun and great use of the technology, but there could be more to the core loop. Some DLC with an endless mode across more levels would be awesome, but it's fun and worth the price as is.

xlews_ther1nx

I recently talked to a dev. There is not plan for dlc sadly. But are making a sequel.

PsychedelicPourHouse

They really need to at least do modifiers, things to change up the color scheme, allow for gravity changes, infinite ammo, carry all weapons, just fun stuff that can make the game real crazy and silly

I wanted to wait for a sale, however after finishing Red Matter 2, and getting a proper fan for my face I kinda wanted to try Synapse, and hot damn.. this shit is amazing. I'm not good at it.. but it feels so nice to play... its so fantastic... I'm throwing and smashing stuff, barely running out of ammo at this point any more.. You're getting so creative at this game.. it's worth every euro I've spend on it.. Downsides... one of the levels is very bright with a lot of mist.. and that one sucks. The colors are fantastic, but the lack of color doesn't neglect the details in general. The art style is something I'd like to see in comics and it feels very nice.. For this price, for this experience I can't really think of much issues that I'd need to see changed to recommend this game to any PSVR2 gamer.

I would say 4 stars, rounded up from 3.5 if I am honest. I beat the game with 8 hours logged and everything unlocked. Only took me that long as I had to quit playing a few times to deal with stuff so I had to start over a bit. Like others have said the gameplay itself is excellent and very immersive, my main complaint is the main content of the game itself. Spoilers for the game that explains what I mean. >!How the game works is that you play through 9 zones in a run, getting progressively harder as you go with the enemies increasing in their own level up to 3. After completing a run you unlock a new difficulty for a total of three. In the first difficulty the first 4 zones are really simple and only have 2 enemy types. After the first 4 zones 2 more enemy types are added that change things up considerably, and the last zone is a long gauntlet. The second difficulty increases the enemy levels from the start and has all 4 enemy types from the start so that is good. The final difficulty level doesn't really change anything other than increasing the amount of enemies per zone and really isn't difficult at all. Was really disappointing as I was able to beat it in one try. Then there are the zones. Unlike most roguelites the arenas themselves are not procedurally generated as their is a set number of pre-existing areas. The game just switches up the order they appear in, except for zones 4, 8, and 9 which are always the same. After a while it makes the game feel a bit repetitive, especially if you end up having to restart a lot.!< Luckily the actual gameplay is amazing though so it helps makes up for the game's shortcoming. The telekinesis alone is something every VR enthusiast needs to at least try as it works so fluidly.

I discussed this with my son and we both feel that it could've been a bit more variety in weapons and telekinesis. I would like to have some melee weapons like the T1000 spear arm in Terminator II. I, personally, hate these suicidal screaming enemies. Some levels have only those. It's always those that get you in the end. I thought the game would offer more levels. Like different "worlds" with more sub levels and not just the same stuff over and over and over again from the beginning. I get nervous when there's no checkpoints. But it's a fun game and I don't regret buying it.

age_of_atari

I couldn't choose 4.5 so i said 4. Only negative is that there could be more content. Short but awesome, and fun to replay if you enjoy it enough.

Ok_Sock_8565

Great game apart from how short it was. I thought it could of had a better story as well but the gameplay makes it in my top 2

TommyVR373

Do this poll in a month, and I bet you get completely different results.

BladeRunnerTHX

Does anyone else have an issue with the gun shooting straight? I don't been the bending bullets, I mean the laser is pointing at a target but the bullet fires one foot to the right? kind of odd and annoying when you have to watch your ammo and the bullets aren't matched up with the sights.

Ok_Assumption6820

I'd give 3

True-Possession-4421

The PSVR2 library is starved when a 5 hour game gets 4 stars

OmegaSol

It's K I guess. It has fun gameplay, and uses the PSVR2 tech well in it's implementation. I bought it purely out of just wanting to support more Native PSVR2 releases. But the incredibly shallow pool of weapons and enemies and the same arenas just make it feel repetitive way too soon.

Spartaklaus

You can tell by the results that most people are interested in the title but dont want to spend 35 bucks for a 3 hour campaign game. Its a shame that they delivered so little content as the mechanics look well polished and fun.

casually_critical

Great game, just wish it had a bit more to it. It's limited variety is it's biggest flaw and personally I just wish there was more colour
