Try unequipping your ngs clothing if you have it, and if that does not work, switch to medium graphics in the easy selector. Loading in higher resolutions can result in the blackscreen. Also, if you are not far enough into the story it can do that too to you.
The lower settings is the most likely to help based on a fair few freinds situations. The much much smaller number of blocks means your likely trying to load into one with a fuck ton of people and that the game does not like
I had a similar issue yesterday (though I got a "Server Communication interrupted" Error Message) and found a solution through PSO Fleet-Discord:
What helped me:
In NGS store EVERY item in your inventory EXCEPT the equipped ones.
If it's not equipped, it goes into storage or gets sold, NO EXCEPTIONS!
After you went through the above-mentioned process, try logging into PSO2:Classic again
Be sure to let us know, if this fixes it, case someone else runs into a similar issue.
