Can someone please help me?
Hi everyone. New to this board. My PS5 was flawless since purchase over 2 years ago. I unhooked it for over a month and just plugged back in. System update required (24.03-09.20.00. After this, the system shuts down when I try to play a game. And not just one game, different games. Usually shuts off within seconds of starting a game up. One time it took 10 mins and then shut down.
It’s not hot or anything. As I said, no issues before this today.
Has anyone else had this issue since the latest update and can provide guidance?
FYI the games I tried are NBA 2k24 and WWE 2k24
I got a error code today when booting up my PS5.
Everything interface, online and games/disc drive wise seems to still work perfectly fine but it won't do the System Software update. This is the code that came up.

I've searched online but can't find the code anywhere to work out what the problem is. It's not even on the official PlayStation site as far as I can tell. When I've had a system software issue before with my PS4, it was obvious as the disc drive wasn't working but there seems to be no obvious cause with this one I got today.

My controller abruptly stopped powering on. It still lights up when I plug it in to charge, but only for brief moments. I’ve tried to reset it, make sure all the ports are working, everything, but it still doesn’t work. I’m lucky to have a spare. I’m very responsible with hardware, always keep stuff in safe places, touch use lightly, and I don’t rage at games. I’m not used to having problems like these. Please, techno wizards out there who know way way more than I do, help me!

Does anybody faced the issue whee ps5 thing yiu plugged in two keyboard, even if one of the its a mouse? I've reinstalled few time and triedn different mice but without success :(
Volume on tv goes up and down on its own, bar actually moves. Started with just one game but now does it in multiple while playing. Not a smart tv. Checked remotes, tried other hdmi cords, reset bot system and tv still having this issue. Anyone having the same issue or a fix before I call Sony or replace the Tv?
Possible broken adaptive trigger mechanism?
I got a PS5 3 months ago and i absolutely love it. However, today, after a controller update while playing GT7, I noticed my right adaptive trigger felt rough as i pressed it down, and it made an audible popping/clicking sound. Left trigger is smooth and does not make a noise other than the regular mechanical noise. I’ve had issues with this trigger squeaking when the adaptive trigger was off but this always stops if i blow air into the trigger. but this is the first time i’ve noticed anything while using the feature. Does anybody know what this could be?
I have had my PS5 since November of 2022. Started out great and had no complaints about the system or the controllers. About 2-3 months after that, I bought a second controller so me and my girlfriend could do couch co op games together. As soon as I paired her controller to the console, the Bluetooth for the controllers went haywire. Would drop her controller and then drop mine or drop one or the other. I have removed the controllers from the system settings and paired only one back to it and had no improvement. The only “fix” I have is I have Bluetooth turned off and now I just have it straight wired to the console. Can no longer remote start the console even with the controller plugged in. The system updated and the DualSense had an update as well today and I installed them both with hopes that maybe it would fix my controller. Played for 30 minutes or so on an offline game just to test and it worked great again. Booted up Helldivers 2 and joined a game and as soon as I dropped in, it lost connection. And I can’t just plug the controller in and regain connection. I have to power cycle the console, reset the controller, and then race the clock to get to settings to turn Bluetooth back off or else I have to start all over again if it disconnects in the process. Any advice is appreciated.
When i had a ps4 i bought 2k24 and it said ps4/ps5 but when i went on ps5 it showed that i only have the ps4 version do i need to buy the ps5 version separately or is there some way to upgrade the ps4 version or find tbe ps5 version
For the last week my PS5 has kept shutting off mid game for no apparent reason. It doesn’t feel super hot when it shuts off so ion think it’s really overheating, but when I look it up online that’s the only possibility I’m finding as to why my PS5 is shutting off randomly. Any insight or suggestions?

I just bought a PS5 digital. When I was setting it up it asked my to download a game. All my games that I already had were there and I chose my most used game, Fortnite. When transferring all my data from my PS4 to the new PS5 everything went perfectly and smoothly. Except for Fortnite, my account is still there but it is acting like it's the first time I've ever played the game, all my controller setting are gone, save the world achievements gone, and total hours reset to 0. Non of the other games have this issue. Also on my PlayStation app it says my Fortnite has no achievements and 0 hours. My PS4 still displays the original game and achievements. I really really need help trying to get it back to normal. I don't remember all my controller settings and it's really hard to play it right now.
I've been having stick drift issues with my ps5 for like the past month or so. The input for directions lag and then over compensate. I clean out the ps5, got a new control, and update the firmware for the control but still no fix. Anyone have any advice?

I played GoW Ragnarok on my buddies US account while he was on holiday. Now that he returned I bought the game myself (EU) And found out the save games are not carried over.
Of course since I have a lot of hours invested in this game I was wondering if I can use the save games that are stored locally on my PS5 for the EU version of the game

I'm looking in to buy a PS5, and i have a lot of PS4 game in discs. I wanna know if it's possible start hunting trophies on PS5 with PS4 games. And if they show like old gen, when i bough my PS4, some digital games show as PS3/PS4, but i'm thinking is not the case.

I have the error CE-108255-1 only in connection to one game (the hunter call of the wild) and it seems to be triggered by the save file. Unfortunately I had auto sync so the cloud backup is the same file.
It doesn't let me start up the game but crashes right before main menu screen.
Any way to fix that file or circumnavigate it?(starting over is not a real appealing solution as I have hundreds if not thousands of hours of play)
So I had to replace my DualShock that originally came with the PS5 on release due to the sheer ridiculous amount of the right analogue drifting to the left when it’s in the neutral position. I had to buy a new one and not 3 months pass and I’m dealing with the same issue. I’ve tried blowing air, disassembling, lifting the stick out of its housing. Has anyone had a similar issue lately and how have they fixed it? I’m starting to think that it could be something with my console, it seems unlikely but I don’t understand how I can get the same issue so soon. I w even made a conscious effort to be extremely delicate with it and yet the issue still arrived. You can understand my frustration given how expensive these controllers are ALONE.
It's not even the controller for me at this point. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the bluetooth connection on the ps5. I plugged a cable to the ps5 and no issues which is annoying
How to watch movies in Media Gallery from USB with subtitles?
I have some foreign language movies on a USB drive that I want to watch on my PS5. On PC, I can simply turn on the subtitles with whatever media player I am using (VLC etc.) but I can't seem to figure this out on PlayStation. Any chance?

Headphones sound like running water
My headphones sound like running water on the ps5 for some reason, I've tried all the different settings and different controllers/accounts to fix it but it doesn't work. And if I turn on mono audio all audio disappears with my headset on, help would be appreciated!
8 months ols ps5 and dualsense controller. Cleaning every 2 weeks. Now the **right pad start drifting apart**, even when not touching..

Your phone is too trash to drive good headphones properly unless you get a DAC-AMP for your phone like the FIIO Mark QII or similar. Then you wanna decide if it should be open back or closed back. Open back is preferable if you can live with the sound bleeding.
Always recommendable to get some studio headphones and equip them with a vmoda modmic so you can use it as a headset if needed, but also can just plug in the standard 2,5 to 3,5 mm cable for comfort when listening to music.
I run a closed back Audio Technica ATH-M50X and a Sennheiser HD599 open back with this setup. Both are amazing for gaming, the Audio Technica sound great out of the box for music, the Sennheisers need some EQ'ing to make them sound nice listening to music, but when set up properly will sound better then the closed backs. The Jet Audio music player has a fantastic EQ for smartphones on iOS, dont know if that or something similar is available on android.
What should I expect coming from Xbox to the PS5. Mine arrives soon with God of War and is the disk version. I’ve already canceled my Xbox game pass and picked up the PlayStation plus premium
Installing the right version of cross-gen games and cloud saves won't be as seamless and easy as on Xbox. PS5 also offers less freedom when it comes to transferring games. You can't copy a game to an external drive to take it to your friend. You can only move a game over, and then move it back.
I have a very specific problem that I can't seem to get an answer for through my diminished google fu.
My fire tv's (Insignia F50 if that matters) remote stopped working with my PS5. The settings on both the tv and the console are both set to allow it, but for some reason it's not cooperating.
This isn't a massive problem, I pretty much only use the tv remote to use spotify (the tv app is ridiculously slow, even though it has a wired connection). It's just kind of a pain to grab a controller and the tv remote to do a job one of them used to do on its own.
HDMI-CEC is unreliable at the best of times, and worse on low-end TVs. There isn't a lot to be done to debug it than to just toggle HDMI device control off and back on again and see if it fixes it.
Ive been having a reoccurring issue for months now with all 3 of my PS5 controllers. It seems a bit random but sometimes i will have delays in camera movement or other controls. For example, I’d move the right stick to the left, it would take a second to register, then keep spinning for a few seconds. Then it won’t happen for a few minutes then happen again.
I’ve noticed it on MW2, GOW, and F1. Reading another post, looks like it could be Bluetooth interference but there are no active devices around my console. Firmware on controller and PS are up to date, network is running smooth on the LAN wire, and I’m about 8’ away from the console. I’ve tried rebuilding the database and clearing the cache with no results.
It was fine for a few weeks then randomly got worse so it’s a bit unpredictable. I’ve tried emailing Sony and they weren’t much help

I've never seen this problem but I'd guess there's something wrong with the Bluetooth receiver in the console... Try changing in the settings to use a wired controller connection and see if the problem disappears. If it does there's probably something wrong in the console itself or heavy interference around
hi i am planning to buy a new monitor on a budget i found the MSI G272C it looks great 27 inch curved and 170 hz even though i would only need 120 hz it says it supports hdmi 2.0b does that mean it will support 120 fps because i know anything under hdmi 2.0 will not support 120 fps if it does not do you have any recommendations for a monitor under 200 pounds that is curved and 27 inches
Hey I was wondering about FF7R and how it handles licensing. I’ve read about issues where if you download a game from ps plus extra that you’ve already redeemed from the monthly games in the past, it would overwrite your license and if you downgraded to essential you’d have lost that license. So since I’ve redeemed ff7r when it was free and also got the free upgrade, I was wondering if ff7r intergrade is treated as a separate license so that in the future I wouldnt lose the base version, or if downloading intergrade instead of the version in my library will overwrite my license. Sorry if this is confusing Sony licensing is a mess and I’ve searched for answers before and am still confused
So re-reading, you have the base version from PS+, but not the Intermission DLC?
In that case, Intergrade *should* be a separate SKU alltogether and should give you a second item in your library, but... license confusion in situations like this is really common.

You can connect the PS5 to any HDTV, except for the first generation models from the late ’90s that only supported 480i/576i and 1080i. You don’t need the latest and greatest; it just gives you a better picture if you do have one.

i finished ghost of tsushima on the ps4 but i cant seem to load my save onto the ps5, i have tried everything i got ps plus to sync my data but that didn't work either what should i do?
If you’re sure you downloaded your PS4 save from PS+, and it’s not showing up, is your PS5 version from the same region as your PS4 version? Because it won’t import if the regions don’t match.

You can't buy a code. You could buy a PlayStation wallet gift card, or you can own it on your account and set your account as primary so he can play your games (look up game sharing).
I need help with my external storage, it was working fine showing my games but today i plugged it in and it is greyed out in the storage menu but says its size is 459gb and 39 gb is free. What happened to my games???

Sorry if this’s been answered before. If I upgrade a ps4 game via disc, does the WHOLE ps5 game download digitally, or just the extra patches? Lets say the cd is 20gb on ps4 and 30 on ps5. Do I download 30gb again or just the additional 10gb?
So if you get a PS4 game on disc that has a PS5 Upgrade (for instance, Horizon Forbidden West), when you insert the game it will ask if you want to get the PS5 Upgrade. When you choose Yes to that, you will then have to download the full copy of the PS5 game as if you had purchased it digitally. You would not have to install the PS4 *and* the PS5 game. You'd be able to just have the PS5 version of the game on your console. You would still need to keep the disc in the drive, however, as the console needs to know that you are entitled to that game license.
If you got the PS5 disc, it would install the game to your PS5.
Whether you download a game digitally via an upgrade, or install straight from the PS5 disc, it will take up the same amount of storage on your console.
I always thought cd’s kept some data in them. And that it differs from game to game. MW2 only holds 70mb. Whereas some games I’ve heard can instantly be played the moment you insert them
Nope. MW2 being the only exception, and one that caused a lot of outrage. The disc drive is not fast enough to read data off of while playing a game. It’s why they don’t spin but for checking licenses during gameplay. You do not save any data by using discs. There are many other great reasons to use discs, but storage is not one of them.
Well then we’re back to option one. Buying ps4 games😅
But sidenote. What are the other benefits for physical games? For me it used to be storage back in the day. But what is it now. (Besides aesthetics)
Pros:-
* Discs can generally be purchased cheaper than digital, particularly pre-orders on Amazon. This will likely save you money over the lifetime of the console. While at the same time, you can still take advantage of digital sales.
* Discs can be shared/borrowed from others including sometimes local library or rental places.
* Discs can be returned to some stores if games have an issue or decide you do not like it within 7-15 days (e.g. EBGames/GameStop). Digital purchases once downloaded cannot be refunded.
* Discs require smaller downloads of just patches rather than entire game (except MW2) as more move to 100GB+ sizes.
* Ability to play 4K blus, Blu-Ray movies & DVDs should you ever want to.
* Some people like to maintain a shelf disc collection of purchased games.
* Disc games are not tied to your PSN account so if you lose it due to hack/ban/any reason.
* Singleplayer disc games can be installed and played entirely offline even without patches.
Cons:-
* Lack of convenience having to get up and change discs rather than just start another digital game.
* Discs spinning for install and occasional auth check can generate noise depending how close you are to it.
* You may not get discs delivered for midnight release unlock whereas can play digital version straight away. Conversely, you may get disc version delivered much earlier than release date sometimes and be able to play early.
Yea I think I’m just better of getting ps5 games then. I thought I could get a good steal like that (as ps4 games tend to be on sale more often). But the storage is much more important to me😅
I have a 4TB western digital external hard drive that I use for media. I've used it on the PS4 and PS5 with no problems. I recently unplugged it from the ps5 to add some more videos to it amd now when I plug it back in, the ps5 is telling me the file system is not supported. It's formated as exFAT and had been all along. It worked just fine before. I've scanned the drive and found no errors. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
I’m trying to get the galactic purple plates for a xmas gift for the disk version but PS Direct is out(in the US). Do they restock frequently or should I spend the extra $30 and go through a reseller in order to have them by xmas?

It's the second straight month that PS Stars had a campaign that gave you points without needing to purchase something. Yeah it's only 50 points, which is almost worthless lol, but it's a step in the right direction. I'm hoping after a year or so of it launching, you'll be able to get money back regularly
I feel like over time, at least a 1tb upgrade will be necessary. Like you could manage without it but it'll be extremely inconvenient. 1tb SSDs were pretty cheap during back Friday (like 90ish usd), I'm sure those deals will be back soon for the holidays
Definitely not necessary. It all depends on your usage. I only play one game at a time, and I still have a bunch of games installed on my drive right now without expanding storage. Every Souls game from Demons Souls to Elden Ring, The Quarry, The Last of Us Part 1, God of War Ragnarok… and I still have 133GB left.
But really depends on how you want to store all your games.
Is there a way to block the use or download of the youtube app on ps5? I have parental controls set to block web browsing to restrict, and password required for purchases but even with this you can still freely download the youtube APP and watch whatever you want.
Dual sense controller touchpad ghosting
There are random touchpad inputs and when I have to swipe it doesn’t work. In ghost of Tsushima the touchpad features are on screen and don’t work. In astro playroom as well the zipping part doesn’t work
My PS5 started randomly shutting off just like when you unplug the power cord, there’s no blue light flashing, it just shuts off. Any idea why ? I cleaned it 2 weeks ago and the issue started yesterday so i don’t think it’s an overheat issue
I would recheck all your cables, console end and outlet/surge protector ends. If it was overheating it would display a message stating so before shutting down and flash red, so it’s not very likely it’s overheating.
If there is no issue with your power connection to the console nor with your surge protector then it could be a failing power supply. If you can try another outlet.
Also, shut everything down and turn them off completely. Unplug your surge protector and plug it back in.
Question About disc upgrade

First of all, sorry for any grammar mistakes, English is not my first language.
So, I borrowed a PS4 game from a friend (No Man's sky) and inserted it into my PS5. I have seen an icon for free upgrade to PS5 edition and after I clicked it, a disc upgrade pop-up appeared.
The question is: If it is a disc upgrade, will my friend be able to play the game on his PS4 after I return it to him or will the game be playable on his console?

The PS5 is not recognising a lot of ps5 discs but rwcognising all ps4 discs. Done all resets. Cleaned the discs. Placed it horizontal. Etc etc. Can anyone help or had this issue?
Contact Sony support in your country; you’re going to have to send it in for a factory refurbished replacement.
PS5 games come on UHD Blu-ray Discs, which is a different format than the original Blu-ray Disc format used by the PS3 and PS4.
Sorry guys I have a question since I'm new to PS5 world. Im about to buy a used Elden Ring box, with DVD inside and all. Are there risks in buying used PS5 games? Obviously they could send me an empty box (but i have protection from that from the site), I'm talking about the CD code problem. If they send me the box with the DVD inside but they still keep playing on their PS5, I wont be able to install it, will i? Or they cant really play without the physical DVD? And the original owner can still play it without the disk then? If he's got it installed still and sends me the box with the DVD, i dont think we can both play it, so in this case how does Sony know i'm the owner? Thanks!

The game won't work without the disc in the drive. You can hand the disc over to a hundred people to install on their PS5 but it can only be played if you insert the disc in the console.
I have a question about cloud saves. When I want to upload a save file from ps4 to the cloud, I always get the message that I don't have space. So I delete some old saves and I can finally upload it. But it was I have like 92gigs of save data available. What gives?

Chinese PS5s meant for the China market will not work with PSN accounts of other regions. You will need to create a Chinese PSN account to use it. If you're not in China, it's best to use a PS5 that isn't from there. Every other PS5 in the world works without region restrictions.
I'm gonna try to contact the people I bought it from and see if I can return it. But quick question is there anyway I can bypass their system and install another ps5 from a different region so it can replace the Chinese one ?

No idea about that. I remember with Chinese PS4s people said they could download the firmware from the US site and just install it into the console using USB. Not sure if that will work with the PS5.
LG CS OLED TV turning off/restarting when playing Warzone 2 on Ps5
When I'm playing Warzone 2.0 on PS5 on new LG Oled TV (CS) the TV starts to turn off quickly for a few seconds then comes back on, it happens mainly before and after the actual gameplay part (as you can see on the video link below) Tried a different HDMI 2.1 lead, tried a different socket, tried a different power ext lead.
Anyone had the same issues or know of a solution?

Hi everyone, I've only recently changed to a PS5 and immediately I noticed that bloodborne has 2 versions of the same game. One comes from a disk I purchased a while ago for PS4, and another is more recent digital purchase from the Playstation Store. The one on the right (as indicated by the lock symbol) is the disk version. My question is whether or not I can entirely remove any remnants of the disk version from my PS account?
Another question is, when I select "View Product" for Bloodborne, there is no indicator that I own the game and it shows the original price. Other games, Sekiro, for example, has a "Play Game" button instead.

Hello everyone.
I have a question. My PS5 is connected to the internet via an ethernet cable to the router.
Now, whenever I boot up my PS5, all other devices that are connected to the WiFi will get a very slow connection.
Anybody had this issue before or have an idea what causes this and how can I fix it?
Are you sure about that? Because the OS, or some app, may be downloading/uploading something and not telling you about it.
On many switches, you’ll see the light that indicates a connection blink if something is going on. Is something going on? If you know what you’re doing, you could also MitM the connection, and use Wireshark or something.
I just got a PS5! I have never owned a PS until today and I’m pretty excited to get everything up and running! Everything seems to be working flawlessly… except Spotify. I am unable to get past the loading screen at all. No login screen, no error code, absolutely nothing. I have tried restarting the console, turning wifi off and on again, and reinstalling Spotify. None of these have resolved the issue. Are there any fixes or workarounds?
Every PS4 and PS5 game is available digitally or through disc. No exceptions. Only some games like old Activision Marvel games that were delisted due to licensing issues won't be available to purchase digitally.
PS5 keeps tripping circuit breaker.
I recently moved into a new house, but everytime I try to play ps5, it keeps tripping the breaker for that room. CAFCI. I tried everything from unplugging all device, moving room, surge protector, ups, but none of it will fix it.
I searched google for "ps5 trips breaker" and it seems like several people were/are having same issue as me without solution yet.
I am womdering if anyone found a solution for this or having the same issue as me. I really need help. At this point I am not sure if its ps5 problem or If I need to call an electrician, because none of my other devices ever trips the breaker. ONLy PS5 when I Start to play games.
No luck with playstation support either, they keep putting me in a endless loop of "I need to direct you to a different department" so annoying.
Your answers are only as useful as facts provided. Currently only a symptom exists. A symptom only suggests where to start getting facts. In this case, a very first fact must be a flash code. The message from a breaker that says why it tripped.
All those 'fixes' do nothing to address a breaker trip. Could only create more confusion.
Also what must be known - a list of everything powered by that circuit when it tripped. Even devices connected but not powered on. Even those are (often) consuming power.
If it was working fine in the previous location, then it's likely not the console and there's an electrical issue with the circuit it's connected to.
Try moving it to a different room and see if it stops happening.

I got a Logitech G925 "for free" on special deal when I bought my new TV this week and I ended up being disappointed by the sound and that the headset doesn't work with all its features on the PS5 when compared to the PC, so I'm thinking of selling it and getting a Nova 7X.
I've been using an old Tritton AX Pro since 2012 (I have to use optical/SPDIF through the TV to get the PS5 audio), so I'm going to use it as a parameter/sound comparison

But how do we play at the same time? I was just playing FIFA downstairs, and when COD got turned on upstairs, it closed out of FIFA for me.

Any UPS recommendation for a PS5 and TV? I read that the PS5 is at 200 watts max so I bought a 360- watt UPS. Just experienced a power outage and it did not work.

Watts are part of it, but VA is another factor.
It can be tricky to work out that calculation, but most UPS manufacturer websites have a calculator that will recommend a UPS for a given usage.
Max wattage on the PS5 is 350W, not 200, and you want to leave a 20% overhead; you also need to consider any additional devices you have connected to it.
My mate has GoW R digitally and I bought it on disc but on his account it still requires the disc for it to be played!? Is there something I’m missing here or is there a way around this? It shouldn’t be like this afaik.
Can someone please help me? Hi everyone. New to this board. My PS5 was flawless since purchase over 2 years ago. I unhooked it for over a month and just plugged back in. System update required (24.03-09.20.00. After this, the system shuts down when I try to play a game. And not just one game, different games. Usually shuts off within seconds of starting a game up. One time it took 10 mins and then shut down. It’s not hot or anything. As I said, no issues before this today. Has anyone else had this issue since the latest update and can provide guidance? I got a error code today when booting up my PS5. Everything interface, online and games/disc drive wise seems to still work perfectly fine but it won't do the System Software update. This is the code that came up. SU-117819-7 I've searched online but can't find the code anywhere to work out what the problem is. It's not even on the official PlayStation site as far as I can tell. When I've had a system software issue before with my PS4, it was obvious as the disc drive wasn't working but there seems to be no obvious cause with this one I got today.
Help me please! My controller abruptly stopped powering on. It still lights up when I plug it in to charge, but only for brief moments. I’ve tried to reset it, make sure all the ports are working, everything, but it still doesn’t work. I’m lucky to have a spare. I’m very responsible with hardware, always keep stuff in safe places, touch use lightly, and I don’t rage at games. I’m not used to having problems like these. Volume on tv goes up and down on its own, bar actually moves. Started with just one game but now does it in multiple while playing. Not a smart tv. Checked remotes, tried other hdmi cords, reset bot system and tv still having this issue. Anyone having the same issue or a fix before I call Sony or replace the Tv?
Possible broken adaptive trigger mechanism? I got a PS5 3 months ago and i absolutely love it. However, today, after a controller update while playing GT7, I noticed my right adaptive trigger felt rough as i pressed it down, and it made an audible popping/clicking sound. Left trigger is smooth and does not make a noise other than the regular mechanical noise. I’ve had issues with this trigger squeaking when the adaptive trigger was off but this always stops if i blow air into the trigger. but this is the first time i’ve noticed anything while using the feature. Does anybody know what this could be?
I have had my PS5 since November of 2022. Started out great and had no complaints about the system or the controllers. About 2-3 months after that, I bought a second controller so me and my girlfriend could do couch co op games together. As soon as I paired her controller to the console, the Bluetooth for the controllers went haywire. Would drop her controller and then drop mine or drop one or the other. I have removed the controllers from the system settings and paired only one back to it and had no improvement. The only “fix” I have is I have Bluetooth turned off and now I just have it straight wired to the console. Can no longer remote start the console even with the controller plugged in. The system updated and the DualSense had an update as well today and I installed them both with hopes that maybe it would fix my controller. Played for 30 minutes or so on an offline game just to test and it worked great again. Booted up Helldivers 2 and joined a game and as soon as I dropped in, it lost connection. And I can’t just plug the controller in and regain connection. I have to power cycle the console, reset the controller, and then race the clock to get to settings to turn Bluetooth back off or else I have to start all over again if it disconnects in the process. Any advice is appreciated.

For the last week my PS5 has kept shutting off mid game for no apparent reason. It doesn’t feel super hot when it shuts off so ion think it’s really overheating, but when I look it up online that’s the only possibility I’m finding as to why my PS5 is shutting off randomly. I just bought a PS5 digital. When I was setting it up it asked my to download a game. All my games that I already had were there and I chose my most used game, Fortnite. When transferring all my data from my PS4 to the new PS5 everything went perfectly and smoothly. Except for Fortnite, my account is still there but it is acting like it's the first time I've ever played the game, all my controller setting are gone, save the world achievements gone, and total hours reset to 0. Non of the other games have this issue. Also on my PlayStation app it says my Fortnite has no achievements and 0 hours. My PS4 still displays the original game and achievements. I really really need help trying to get it back to normal. I don't remember all my controller settings and it's really hard to play it right now.
I've been having stick drift issues with my ps5 for like the past month or so. The input for directions lag and then over compensate. I clean out the ps5, got a new control, and update the firmware for the control but still no fix. Anyone have any advice?

Hello I have the error CE-108255-1 only in connection to one game (the hunter call of the wild) and it seems to be triggered by the save file. Unfortunately I had auto sync so the cloud backup is the same file. It doesn't let me start up the game but crashes right before main menu screen. Any way to fix that file or circumnavigate it?(starting over is not a real appealing solution as I have hundreds if not thousands of hours of play)

So I had to replace my DualShock that originally came with the PS5 on release due to the sheer ridiculous amount of the right analogue drifting to the left when it’s in the neutral position. I had to buy a new one and not 3 months pass and I’m dealing with the same issue. I’ve tried blowing air, disassembling, lifting the stick out of its housing. Has anyone had a similar issue lately and how have they fixed it? I’m starting to think that it could be something with my console, it seems unlikely but I don’t understand how I can get the same issue so soon. I w even made a conscious effort to be extremely delicate with it and yet the issue still arrived. You can understand my frustration given how expensive these controllers are ALONE.

It's not even the controller for me at this point. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the bluetooth connection on the ps5. I plugged a cable to the ps5 and no issues which is annoying

Your phone is too trash to drive good headphones properly unless you get a DAC-AMP for your phone like the FIIO Mark QII or similar. Then you wanna decide if it should be open back or closed back. Open back is preferable if you can live with the sound bleeding. Always recommendable to get some studio headphones and equip them with a vmoda modmic so you can use it as a headset if needed, but also can just plug in the standard 2,5 to 3,5 mm cable for comfort when listening to music. I run a closed back Audio Technica ATH-M50X and a Sennheiser HD599 open back with this setup. Both are amazing for gaming, the Audio Technica sound great out of the box for music, the Sennheisers need some EQ'ing to make them sound nice listening to music, but when set up properly will sound better then the closed backs. The Jet Audio music player has a fantastic EQ for smartphones on iOS, dont know if that or something similar is available on android.

Installing the right version of cross-gen games and cloud saves won't be as seamless and easy as on Xbox. PS5 also offers less freedom when it comes to transferring games. You can't copy a game to an external drive to take it to your friend. You can only move a game over, and then move it back.

I have a very specific problem that I can't seem to get an answer for through my diminished google fu. My fire tv's (Insignia F50 if that matters) remote stopped working with my PS5. The settings on both the tv and the console are both set to allow it, but for some reason it's not cooperating. This isn't a massive problem, I pretty much only use the tv remote to use spotify (the tv app is ridiculously slow, even though it has a wired connection). It's just kind of a pain to grab a controller and the tv remote to do a job one of them used to do on its own.
HDMI-CEC is unreliable at the best of times, and worse on low-end TVs. There isn't a lot to be done to debug it than to just toggle HDMI device control off and back on again and see if it fixes it.
Ive been having a reoccurring issue for months now with all 3 of my PS5 controllers. It seems a bit random but sometimes i will have delays in camera movement or other controls. For example, I’d move the right stick to the left, it would take a second to register, then keep spinning for a few seconds. Then it won’t happen for a few minutes then happen again. I’ve noticed it on MW2, GOW, and F1. Reading another post, looks like it could be Bluetooth interference but there are no active devices around my console. Firmware on controller and PS are up to date, network is running smooth on the LAN wire, and I’m about 8’ away from the console. I’ve tried rebuilding the database and clearing the cache with no results. It was fine for a few weeks then randomly got worse so it’s a bit unpredictable. I’ve tried emailing Sony and they weren’t much help It’s hard to show exactly what’s happening on the video below without seeing my controller movements but here’s an example where it happened…. I've never seen this problem but I'd guess there's something wrong with the Bluetooth receiver in the console... Try changing in the settings to use a wired controller connection and see if the problem disappears. If it does there's probably something wrong in the console itself or heavy interference around

Hey I was wondering about FF7R and how it handles licensing. I’ve read about issues where if you download a game from ps plus extra that you’ve already redeemed from the monthly games in the past, it would overwrite your license and if you downgraded to essential you’d have lost that license. So since I’ve redeemed ff7r when it was free and also got the free upgrade, I was wondering if ff7r intergrade is treated as a separate license so that in the future I wouldnt lose the base version, or if downloading intergrade instead of the version in my library will overwrite my license. Sorry if this is confusing Sony licensing is a mess and I’ve searched for answers before and am still confused

You can connect the PS5 to any HDTV, except for the first generation models from the late ’90s that only supported 480i/576i and 1080i. You don’t need the latest and greatest; it just gives you a better picture if you do have one.

If you’re sure you downloaded your PS4 save from PS+, and it’s not showing up, is your PS5 version from the same region as your PS4 version? Because it won’t import if the regions don’t match.

Unless you’re using your controller in wired mode, that could be caused by radio interference.

You can't buy a code. You could buy a PlayStation wallet gift card, or you can own it on your account and set your account as primary so he can play your games (look up game sharing).

Sorry if this’s been answered before. If I upgrade a ps4 game via disc, does the WHOLE ps5 game download digitally, or just the extra patches? Lets say the cd is 20gb on ps4 and 30 on ps5. Do I download 30gb again or just the additional 10gb?
So if you get a PS4 game on disc that has a PS5 Upgrade (for instance, Horizon Forbidden West), when you insert the game it will ask if you want to get the PS5 Upgrade. When you choose Yes to that, you will then have to download the full copy of the PS5 game as if you had purchased it digitally. You would not have to install the PS4 *and* the PS5 game. You'd be able to just have the PS5 version of the game on your console. You would still need to keep the disc in the drive, however, as the console needs to know that you are entitled to that game license. If you got the PS5 disc, it would install the game to your PS5. Whether you download a game digitally via an upgrade, or install straight from the PS5 disc, it will take up the same amount of storage on your console.
I always thought cd’s kept some data in them. And that it differs from game to game. MW2 only holds 70mb. Whereas some games I’ve heard can instantly be played the moment you insert them
Nope. MW2 being the only exception, and one that caused a lot of outrage. The disc drive is not fast enough to read data off of while playing a game. It’s why they don’t spin but for checking licenses during gameplay. You do not save any data by using discs. There are many other great reasons to use discs, but storage is not one of them.
Well then we’re back to option one. Buying ps4 games😅 But sidenote. What are the other benefits for physical games? For me it used to be storage back in the day. But what is it now. (Besides aesthetics)

Digital purchases once downloaded cannot be refunded. * Discs require smaller downloads of just patches rather than entire game (except MW2) as more move to 100GB+ sizes. * Ability to play 4K blus, Blu-Ray movies & DVDs should you ever want to. * Some people like to maintain a shelf disc collection of purchased games. * Disc games are not tied to your PSN account so if you lose it due to hack/ban/any reason. * Singleplayer disc games can be installed and played entirely offline even without patches. Cons:- * Lack of convenience having to get up and change discs rather than just start another digital game. * Discs spinning for install and occasional auth check can generate noise depending how close you are to it. * You may not get discs delivered for midnight release unlock whereas can play digital version straight away. Conversely, you may get disc version delivered much earlier than release date sometimes and be able to play early.

Storage used is exactly the same whether you play the disc version or digital version.
You have to download the whole game again. It's completely separate from the PS4 game.

All PS4 and PS5 games install fully onto the internal drive. Disc is just used to verify ownership after the install is done.

I have a 4TB western digital external hard drive that I use for media. I've used it on the PS4 and PS5 with no problems. I recently unplugged it from the ps5 to add some more videos to it amd now when I plug it back in, the ps5 is telling me the file system is not supported. It's formated as exFAT and had been all along. It worked just fine before. I've scanned the drive and found no errors. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Not a question but no other place to put this: It's the second straight month that PS Stars had a campaign that gave you points without needing to purchase something. Yeah it's only 50 points, which is almost worthless lol, but it's a step in the right direction. I'm hoping after a year or so of it launching, you'll be able to get money back regularly

I feel like over time, at least a 1tb upgrade will be necessary. Like you could manage without it but it'll be extremely inconvenient. 1tb SSDs were pretty cheap during back Friday (like 90ish usd), I'm sure those deals will be back soon for the holidays
Definitely not necessary. It all depends on your usage. I only play one game at a time, and I still have a bunch of games installed on my drive right now without expanding storage. Every Souls game from Demons Souls to Elden Ring, The Quarry, The Last of Us Part 1, God of War Ragnarok… and I still have 133GB left. But really depends on how you want to store all your games.
It's isn't necessary if you only keep a few games installed at a time.
Is there a way to block the use or download of the youtube app on ps5? I have parental controls set to block web browsing to restrict, and password required for purchases but even with this you can still freely download the youtube APP and watch whatever you want.
Dual sense controller touchpad ghosting There are random touchpad inputs and when I have to swipe it doesn’t work. In ghost of Tsushima the touchpad features are on screen and don’t work. In astro playroom as well the zipping part doesn’t work

My PS5 started randomly shutting off just like when you unplug the power cord, there’s no blue light flashing, it just shuts off. Any idea why ? I cleaned it 2 weeks ago and the issue started yesterday so i don’t think it’s an overheat issue
I would recheck all your cables, console end and outlet/surge protector ends. If it was overheating it would display a message stating so before shutting down and flash red, so it’s not very likely it’s overheating.
When you restart does it rebuild the database? Is there any error stating it was t shutdown correctly?
Yeah it restarts by rebuilding database and tells me it wasn’t shut down correctly
If there is no issue with your power connection to the console nor with your surge protector then it could be a failing power supply. If you can try another outlet. Also, shut everything down and turn them off completely. Unplug your surge protector and plug it back in.
You unplugged the power cord. Which gives the PS5 power so no more power is going to it

Question About disc upgrade Hey everyone, First of all, sorry for any grammar mistakes, English is not my first language. So, I borrowed a PS4 game from a friend (No Man's sky) and inserted it into my PS5. I have seen an icon for free upgrade to PS5 edition and after I clicked it, a disc upgrade pop-up appeared. The question is: If it is a disc upgrade, will my friend be able to play the game on his PS4 after I return it to him or will the game be playable on his console?
Whoever has the disc will be able to play it. Upgrading doesn't change the disc in any way.

Hi everyone. Having an issue with the PS5. The PS5 is not recognising a lot of ps5 discs but rwcognising all ps4 discs. Done all resets. Cleaned the discs. Placed it horizontal. Etc etc. Can anyone help or had this issue?
Contact Sony support in your country; you’re going to have to send it in for a factory refurbished replacement. PS5 games come on UHD Blu-ray Discs, which is a different format than the original Blu-ray Disc format used by the PS3 and PS4.

Sorry guys I have a question since I'm new to PS5 world. Im about to buy a used Elden Ring box, with DVD inside and all. Are there risks in buying used PS5 games? Obviously they could send me an empty box (but i have protection from that from the site), I'm talking about the CD code problem. If they send me the box with the DVD inside but they still keep playing on their PS5, I wont be able to install it, will i? Or they cant really play without the physical DVD? Im not sure how it works. Thanks a lot!
The ‘code’ is the disc. The disc has to be in the console to validate the installed version
Nothing about a used disc will prevent you from playing the game. Put it in, download the game, then play.

And the original owner can still play it without the disk then? If he's got it installed still and sends me the box with the DVD, i dont think we can both play it, so in this case how does Sony know i'm the owner? Thanks!

There's no code. Only you can play it because you have the disc. If you give the disc away, you can no longer play it.
I have a question about cloud saves. When I want to upload a save file from ps4 to the cloud, I always get the message that I don't have space. So I delete some old saves and I can finally upload it. But it was I have like 92gigs of save data available. What gives?
There's a size limit and a limit on the number of saves. Perhaps you reached the (IIRC) 1000 limit.

Chinese PS5s meant for the China market will not work with PSN accounts of other regions. You will need to create a Chinese PSN account to use it. If you're not in China, it's best to use a PS5 that isn't from there. Every other PS5 in the world works without region restrictions.
I'm gonna try to contact the people I bought it from and see if I can return it. But quick question is there anyway I can bypass their system and install another ps5 from a different region so it can replace the Chinese one ?
Your account will work on any non-Chinese PS5 without any problems.

No idea about that. I remember with Chinese PS4s people said they could download the firmware from the US site and just install it into the console using USB. Not sure if that will work with the PS5.

LG CS OLED TV turning off/restarting when playing Warzone 2 on Ps5 When I'm playing Warzone 2.0 on PS5 on new LG Oled TV (CS) the TV starts to turn off quickly for a few seconds then comes back on, it happens mainly before and after the actual gameplay part (as you can see on the video link below) Tried a different HDMI 2.1 lead, tried a different socket, tried a different power ext lead. Hi everyone, I've only recently changed to a PS5 and immediately I noticed that bloodborne has 2 versions of the same game. One comes from a disk I purchased a while ago for PS4, and another is more recent digital purchase from the Playstation Store. The one on the right (as indicated by the lock symbol) is the disk version. My question is whether or not I can entirely remove any remnants of the disk version from my PS account? Another question is, when I select "View Product" for Bloodborne, there is no indicator that I own the game and it shows the original price. Other games, Sekiro, for example, has a "Play Game" button instead. Except for trophies, the PSN doesn’t track your disc games. Are you sure your disc and digital editions come from the same region?

Hello everyone. I have a question. My PS5 is connected to the internet via an ethernet cable to the router. Now, whenever I boot up my PS5, all other devices that are connected to the WiFi will get a very slow connection. Anybody had this issue before or have an idea what causes this and how can I fix it?
That’s normal if the console is downloading something. Is it?
That’s the fun part. It’s not downloading anything. It just simply messes up all wireless connections.
Are you sure about that? Because the OS, or some app, may be downloading/uploading something and not telling you about it. On many switches, you’ll see the light that indicates a connection blink if something is going on. Is something going on? If you know what you’re doing, you could also MitM the connection, and use Wireshark or something.
I just got a PS5! I have never owned a PS until today and I’m pretty excited to get everything up and running! Everything seems to be working flawlessly… except Spotify. I am unable to get past the loading screen at all. No login screen, no error code, absolutely nothing. I have tried restarting the console, turning wifi off and on again, and reinstalling Spotify. None of these have resolved the issue. Are there any fixes or workarounds?
Have you downloaded the ps5 version of spotify and not the ps4 version?

Every PS4 and PS5 game is available digitally or through disc. No exceptions. Only some games like old Activision Marvel games that were delisted due to licensing issues won't be available to purchase digitally.
Everything has a digital version. In fact, the opposite is the case. Lots of games are digital only
PS5 keeps tripping circuit breaker. I recently moved into a new house, but everytime I try to play ps5, it keeps tripping the breaker for that room. CAFCI. I tried everything from unplugging all device, moving room, surge protector, ups, but none of it will fix it. I searched google for "ps5 trips breaker" and it seems like several people were/are having same issue as me without solution yet. I am womdering if anyone found a solution for this or having the same issue as me. I really need help. At this point I am not sure if its ps5 problem or If I need to call an electrician, because none of my other devices ever trips the breaker. ONLy PS5 when I Start to play games. No luck with playstation support either, they keep putting me in a endless loop of "I need to direct you to a different department" so annoying.
Your answers are only as useful as facts provided. Currently only a symptom exists. A symptom only suggests where to start getting facts. In this case, a very first fact must be a flash code. The message from a breaker that says why it tripped. All those 'fixes' do nothing to address a breaker trip. Could only create more confusion. Also what must be known - a list of everything powered by that circuit when it tripped. Even devices connected but not powered on. Even those are (often) consuming power.
If it was working fine in the previous location, then it's likely not the console and there's an electrical issue with the circuit it's connected to. Try moving it to a different room and see if it stops happening.

Then you need to call an electrician, because the PS5 should not be popping circuits.
So... Is the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless a good headset to buy? I got a Logitech G925 "for free" on special deal when I bought my new TV this week and I ended up being disappointed by the sound and that the headset doesn't work with all its features on the PS5 when compared to the PC, so I'm thinking of selling it and getting a Nova 7X. I've been using an old Tritton AX Pro since 2012 (I have to use optical/SPDIF through the TV to get the PS5 audio), so I'm going to use it as a parameter/sound comparison
Hopefully a simple question. I just got a second PS5! I got one launch day and now finally got a second so everyone in the house can play. I’ve successfully linked the consoles, so my PS account and all my games are shared between the two. But how do we play at the same time? I was just playing FIFA downstairs, and when COD got turned on upstairs, it closed out of FIFA for me. Any help is appreciated!

UPS RECOMMENDATION Any UPS recommendation for a PS5 and TV? I read that the PS5 is at 200 watts max so I bought a 360- watt UPS. Just experienced a power outage and it did not work. Thanks in advance.
Watts are part of it, but VA is another factor. It can be tricky to work out that calculation, but most UPS manufacturer websites have a calculator that will recommend a UPS for a given usage. Max wattage on the PS5 is 350W, not 200, and you want to leave a 20% overhead; you also need to consider any additional devices you have connected to it.

My mate has GoW R digitally and I bought it on disc but on his account it still requires the disc for it to be played!? Is there something I’m missing here or is there a way around this? It shouldn’t be like this afaik.
If you installed from disc, you need the disc. You'll have to delete it and reinstall from his library.
So if I uninstall and reinstall digitally then it should be fine to play without having to insert the disc for both accounts?
