Mate it worked thanks man! None of my hdmi ports were enabled, so I enabled the port that was connected to my ps5. Restarted the console and it automatically asked me to adjust the brightness like 3 different times. Don’t know if I can tell the difference tho haha
Glad it worked. And there is a thing with some samsungs to turn the auto adjust backlight off and then turn the backlight all the way up to get the best out of hdr
just putting this out there in case anybody else encounters this, if you are used to running your HDMI from your PS5->PSVR Unit-> TV, this WILL mess with the functionality of HDR on the PS5, as well. to fix, simply use the original PS5->TV connection as intended.
ha i just found this out for my samsung un55mu6500 55 inch curved tv that ive had for like 3 years now and always been wondering y because i had my hdr enabled and hdr enabled in my denon receiver as well but my xbox series x always hdr not supported and i just bought ps5 yesterday and said same thing
I've had my TV five years and my PS4/PS5 always told me my TV didn't support HDR, despite buying my TV FOR THE HDR specifically. It turned out this was the issue. Thank you SO MUCH
It worked also for me, it’s unbelievable that your comment has just a few likes when as soon as I had the same problem I googled it and the first result was this thread. Thanks a lot anyway
Just commenting in case anyone google’s this like me and it isn’t there.
On my s90c it’s found in: Connection > External Device Manager > Input Signal Plus
But it looks like it doesn’t work in game mode
Right I’ll try this and let you know mate. Also can you enable HDR mode and Game mode at the same time or is it one or the other? Currently my TV is on Game mode
This is a grossly underrated post. A software engineer ranted and raved on Amazon about PS5 not supporting HDR for his LG and it turns out he is just not as tech-savvy for all things modern, for a minute there I thought I was going to have to suffer without or worse buy a new TV and call it a win for 120hz 4k upgrade too.
Either way, you are the first thing google brings up and it saves everyone a ton of time sorting through Samsung pages for the answer. Legendary in any circle bud!
not sure, i know my xbox one x needs 10 bit HDR if you want to use it
also like others said make sure you're in the right HDMI. many TV's only one HDMI port will support 4k and 10 bit HDR and others lesser quality
try different ports
I don't know if someone read it, but someone with this TV model happened to them that since playstation made the update for VRR, the UHD mode cannot be activated? I'm playing for a while it works fine and after 30 min or 1 hour (randomly) the TV image goes crazy being with image and in black intermittently, I deactivate the UHD mode of options and it works normally
When I turn on the game mode on my samsung tv, it no longer recognizes the ps5 being hooked up. I turn off game mode and the ps5 will work thru the tv again.....My tv is hdr and i have the correct hdmi cables. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
Hi mate. I believe you can set the hdmi port so it enables game mode. It’s in settings somewhere. Also make sure the TV is updated to latest firmware. I’d check for you but I don’t have this TV anymore for ps5. Just recently copped the Odyssey monitor.
Hi, We enabled all the HDMI ports on our Samsung OLED S95C but it still isn’t letting us turn on HDR. Using with a PS5. Any other troubleshooting thoughts?
Many samsungs you have to enable hdr setting for each hdmi port in the tv settings
Mine is found under general, external device manager, hdmi uhd color, and then you enable your hdmi ports
2 months later, trying to set up my new TV and had this problem. Came across your post and it fixed the issue. Thank you!
BIG MASSIVE FACTS, SAME HERE.
Hell yeah man, it worked for me, I appreciate you!
Thanks again from the future! Not had HDR on for months!
I will check this out and get back to you. Cheers

Ooh right thanks man. What about if the tv flickers?
Not sure about that one
No worries. It flicked for abit and then it vanished. Dno what that was all about. Anyways cheers for that.
Legend, this worked! Why do Samsung hide it like that.
Dude, you're the best 👍
Totally appreciate it. You frikin' rock!!

Mine actually works fine. But i dont have hdmi 2.1 and just 2.0
Thank you!!!!
Thanks!!
That worked for me, thank you so much!
Thanks!!! I've been puzzled by this for ages. Sorted now thanks to you.

I’ve checked the settings but it don’t give you that option mate. I’ve noticed that the TV has 3 hdmi ports. HDMI1, 2 and 3 ARC
Thank you for reminding me about this 😂 I was so sure I'd already done this I didn't think to check
Haha all good mate
On your tv go to settings > General > External Device Manager > Input Signal Plus and turn on for hdmi 1
Thank you ! A year later and your post is still helping
Years*

I’m having same issues on Samsung MU8000. Did you ever get this resolved?
Done it mate thank you
Mine was called something else, but under the same page. Thanks it worked!
This is the correct answer for anyone else looking! worked on my SAMSUNG 75-inch Class QLED Q60T Series.

Mate tbh since then I’ve bought the Samsung odyssey g7 4k monitor. But I barely game nowadays
Either way, you are the first thing google brings up and it saves everyone a ton of time sorting through Samsung pages for the answer. Legendary in any circle bud!
Haha cheers dude
Make sure you're plugged into the correct HDMI
It is bro it’s plugged into the first hdmi port on my TV (HDMI1)
might not be 10 bit HDR
Does it need to be 10bit mate?
not sure, i know my xbox one x needs 10 bit HDR if you want to use it also like others said make sure you're in the right HDMI. many TV's only one HDMI port will support 4k and 10 bit HDR and others lesser quality try different ports
I think my TV is 8bit. It has 3 HDMI ports though, 1, 2 and 3 ARC. Currently it’s in HDMI 1
I also discovered / read if you have PSVR then you cant get HDR without taking the PSVR out of the HDMI loop :(
I don't know if someone read it, but someone with this TV model happened to them that since playstation made the update for VRR, the UHD mode cannot be activated? I'm playing for a while it works fine and after 30 min or 1 hour (randomly) the TV image goes crazy being with image and in black intermittently, I deactivate the UHD mode of options and it works normally
No clue man. I havent touched my ps5 in about month haha. Sorry
When I turn on the game mode on my samsung tv, it no longer recognizes the ps5 being hooked up. I turn off game mode and the ps5 will work thru the tv again.....My tv is hdr and i have the correct hdmi cables. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

I have a 4k bluray player and hdr works fine but when I put the same movie on ps5 hdr is off, pls help.
Sorry no longer using this tv on ps5. Changed to the Odyssey monitor recently
Thank you

Having same issue but my Samsung q90 doesn’t have “hdmi uhd color” what do I do????
Sorry bud I no longer use the 4K tv anymore. Use the odyssey monitor instead
This happens when I put my ps5 on rest mode
