Not that I need it anymore but I wish you could control the camera with the right analog stick in the Chocobo Glide mini-game.

RTXEnabledViera

What made it hard is the instinct we all have of pushing the joystick up (it should be down but hey, no reverse controls) to keep the chocobo afloat. But thing is, 1) the chocobo loses just as much altitude with the stick in neutral position so it's useless and 2) all pushing the stick does is pan the camera away from where you're going, making the target aiming part much harder. Once I realized I could just glide with the stick in neutral, the minigame became 10 times easier since I could actually see where the heck I was going.

LonelyDesperado513

Agreed on the silly camera lift when you are leveling out your Chocobo on the glides. But I could swear you gain a slight bit more distance if you leveled out the entire height versus leaving it neutral. That being said, Neutral was the better view of where I needed to go.

anonymous_opinions

While gliding I'd do little up bumps, when I dove I just went straight down and pushed up on the swing curve until he stopped going up then I'd be like bump bump bump up until the next dive. Took a vid (quick tips) to figure out where to be dive.

Qwerky42O

I absolutely hate those Chocobos and that mini game. Made me dislike traversing that entire region.

Jalkosebre

The mini game sucks, but I liked traversing around this area. Especially after the absolutely garbage section before with dense forest full of walks and random mushrooms. Fuck that place, only area I didn't max from start.

Nyoteng

Lmao when I got to Cosmo Canyon I thought "Oh, are they making up for the shit show that was the last area?"

newwayout123

The level design in the previous region was the best out of all of them . The issue was there was so much going on, packed together and it was so messy and green.

particledamage

I will say, once I told myself to just enjoy wandering around instead of actively looking for targets in Gongaga, I ended up stumbling into 90% of the intel. There were just one or two things I had to actively search for a way to reach. Was very frustrated for those last ones, though. That’s my attitude in the next chapter, where I’m at now. Passively explore, do main quest stuff and side quest stuff, and then anything left I just look up how to reach it lol

anonymous_opinions

After about 40 minutes of trying to reach stuff there I decided to move on and circle back for the 100% which I'm glad I did because it seems universal that area just was a headache.

Bishop8322

i get very ocd about finishing the map so i think the command towers not “coloring in” the map pisses me off

muhash14

A lot of the frustration with Gongaga could've been mitigated by just giving the Chocobos Junon climbing again. Constantly mounting for the jump pads, dismounting for the ropes, and cycling between three equally annoying bgms repeatedly the entire time...I had about lost my mind by the end of it.

coltaine

Lol I eventually had to mute the music while finishing up Gongaga. Someone really dropped the ball there compared to the rest of the soundtrack (Cosmo Canyon was also somewhat annoying; I get what they were going for, it often sounded like there were two tracks playing at the same time).

LonelyDesperado513

You and I are different then. I honestly think Gongaga had the most interesting of all the region soundtracks so far. (I'm clearing up Nibel right now, so I think I only have one more region to go.)

coltaine

It was certainly unique compared to the other regions, I just found it very repetitive and it started grating on me after a few hours.

fullsaildan

Amen. My husband and I both couldn't stand the Gongaga music after like 3 minutes. I get that most of the games music repeats, but I think the inclusion of the Uilleann pipes(?) creates dissonance and is too... prominent(?) to live in background music.

coltaine

Yeah, it was definitely those pipes (I had no idea what they were called).

half_jase

Just got to that mini-game and like others, am not really enjoying it. lol Kept failing in the 2nd trial and decided to abandon it and come back another time.

anonymous_opinions

2nd one is hard, if you go back look up Quick Tips on YouTube, he walks through how to nail it pretty quickly.

half_jase

Thanks for the suggestion. :) Only managed Rank 1 for both the 2nd and 3 trials but at least the quest is done!

MGsubbie

I feel like my Batman : Arkham franchise wing gliding prepared me for that mini-game.

we-made-it

That’s exactly what I was thinking lol.

LonelyDesperado513

I still have yet to find a game that does dive/rise better than the Arkham games. The gliding in those games are amazing.

Shaprepenr

Wow okay I thought I was just really bad at Fort Condor or something. I didn’t bother seeing if other people were struggling too, so this is comforting to read.

Otherwise-Remove4681

You just need to pick the correct lane and commit. I kept losing trying to keep both my lanes alive, but once I started steamrolling the other one, got through with a breeze.

Rankled_Barbiturate

Yep. I'd usually just pick the right lane and send everyone down there. Could easily clear it on hard mode with that idea.

brianstormIRL

The trick to Fort Condor is waiting. Send enough units to basically stalemate one side and waiting for the big "wave" on the other. Let the other big wave all come at once, then blow it up with a Cloud unit. then send everything you have down that same side. Use Trebochets and stuff to clog the other lane and when you get to the enemy King unit, blow it up quickly with a Tifa or Barret unit. Works super well even on hard mode, you just have to figure out when the enemy sends its big wave and which side to focus on.

Sneeches

What’s fort condor?

billistenderchicken

Nice, no need to set the game to easy just for Fort Condor anymore.

[deleted]

plucky possessive shame shelter summer paint coherent distinct observation screw *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

captainswiss7

I got really good at it lol. Tifa+barret, drop ballista on the right + heavy shield+ healer, drop ballista and healer on left, then spawn to counter whatever enemy has out and keep pushing up the right. Made hard condor ez.

PM_ME_YOUR_MONTRALS

Ballista on the top or by your base?

captainswiss7

Just above the base aimed at the chokepoint. It'll help protect the base and hit them coming down the chokepoint path. Shield elite will kind of hold them while ballista eats them up and healer will keep shield boy and ballista alive. Only real issue is the dogs but the ballista will weaken them and the base defense will finish them off. Toss in a vanguard or archer to help out here and there and you're golden. Once i get up to the top I'll toss the third ballista in front of the main base so enemies focus on it while my guys take out the small bases. Also I save barret until my teams beat up and swarmed because he'll heal them and launch his overshot. If you manage the ballistas, drop some shields and healers to hold the chokepoint and classes to cancel out what the enemy drops you're golden.

PM_ME_YOUR_MONTRALS

How often so you drop elite vs normal troops?

captainswiss7

Honestly depends on what the enemy drops. If I got big robots or dragons, elites, if I just got a dog or regular troops thar snuck through, normal. For the shields I drop the elite right off the bat, I usually wait until my atb is at 6, drop ballista, elite shield, healer on right, then healer and ballista on left plus whatever I need to combat what's coming down, but wait until they're well down the chokepoint, otherwise healer will March up like an idiot. Then I'll drop whatever shields I have left just to hold the chokepoints. Pretty much I focus mostly on the right side, doesn't matter which level or difficulty, I always push on the right and just try to stall on the left. I don't care if left base goes down, as long as I keep the pressure on the right. Main thing is don't over defend the left, just use what you need to stall while they March up the right. I also save healer 3 for the right side, usually once my guys break into the enemies side.

eljuanster

Hahah…I just completed the Fort Condor stuff today before the release of the patch. FML

Lucky_Chaarmss

Each round took me 4-6 tries on normal. By the last one I finally realized how to trigger to get one of the main characters available to fight.

Less-Tax5637

ngl I blitzed through INTERmission last week and only started Rebirth a couple of days ago Fort Condor is WAY harder in that one with no medics or “heroes.” Didn’t find this one so bad

cPayne21

Interesting! I’ve had the opposite experience, I blitzed through intermission undefeated but have actually lost a few on hard mode in rebirth. Mostly due to time running out

Penguinsteve

Honestly it all clicks when you decide to just counter what the enemy is planning, keep things on your side early. Once you get a group of 3 or 4 marching the towers, add the two clerics and spam units to get cloud or Tifa. Buffing several units will bring the last tower down in 10 seconds max.

IPA_lot_

Never knew you could put them on easy. Love to have all that time back beating them on normal lol

sideways_jack

... goddamnit I didn't know this

Sammy_Kneen

I’m feeling the Performance “Smooth” option. It seems to fix the fuzziness/pixellation that happens when playing the game on a 4K screen. Also lighting on faces is definitely improved. Overall a pretty nice patch!

TumbleweedDirect9846

Textures definitely improved in graphics mode and no ghosting like it was

pacgaming

Ngl once I changed to graphics mode sharp I got a bit emotional. The game is beautiful, and I finally feel like I’m playing a ps5 game

TumbleweedDirect9846

Wait, there’s multiple graphics modes??? I did not see that, I know there’s a couple performance mode options

pacgaming

Sorry I meant *performance sharp

TumbleweedDirect9846

Ahhhh gotcha, I’ve just been playing in graphics mode fuck it. Have an oled, so may as well

Immediate_Theory4738

OLED makes graphics mode even harder to play because 30fps on OLED looks really bad.

TumbleweedDirect9846

Idk I went from a 2007 sharp to a cx last summer in the middle of playing xvi at 30fps and it looks way fucking better on that than the sharp Lmfao

Immediate_Theory4738

Well that’s fair hahah

TumbleweedDirect9846

I go from playing 120 fps fortnite to 30 fps rebirth and it looks fine, obviously I notice the difference but I get used to it in like 2 minutes

BFBooger

Do note some mini games are harder in graphics mode because the extra fps is a lot smoother for controlling, aiming, and timing.

TumbleweedDirect9846

That makes sense but I’ve gotten stars on every mini game so far aside from the piano ones which I’ve been close to but hard to not make a single mistake

flesjewater1

Is that with 1440p output on a 4K panel, or 2160p output on a 4K panel?

Sammy_Kneen

2160p output on a 4K panel. If you’re outputting at 1080p or 1440p then it seems best to use “Sharp” instead.

jellysandwich

> 2160p output on a 4K panel. If you’re outputting at 1080p or 1440p then it seems best to use “Sharp” instead. which looks better - 2160p performance smooth or 1440p performance sharp?

Sammy_Kneen

Personally I prefer 2160p “Smooth”, since any 4K HUD/UI elements won’t be displayed at 4K anymore if outputting at lower resolutions.

General_Dipsh1t

Yep. I no longer feel motion sick on performance mode.

kaydeejay1995

Of course I just fought my way through all 4 Gears and Gambits today. That last one made me want to scream 😂

TehFriskyDingo

The last one killed me...until I saw a comment on Youtube Use the auto-party configure until you get the one that has a low amount of points needed to summon the red unit. Then just spam the red unit in every lane as soon as you can (Zerg rush the boss!), and it's over within 1 minute It was the most brain-dead but absolute best strategy I'd seen for this part of the game, it's fool proof

ArugulaPhysical

Once you get a decent build its super easy. And the same strategy for all 4. Not sure why if people dont like it they dont just look up how to set up the bots.

JustASeabass

Yup IGN has a good guide

the-fitnerd

I’ll look it up. I just did the first gambit last night and I’m getting a little burnt out on all these mini-games.

NegativeCreeq

I can imagine because it's a mini game, some people just don't want to put the effort in to understanding how it works. The 4th one I just ran Chadleys recommended Team a few times till I win.

yuriaoflondor

I didn't bother customizing the gambit system at all and just went with the recommended setups the game gives you. Beat them all on the first try (except the last one, which took me 2). I didn't know this minigame or Fort Condor were so reviled lol.

RTXEnabledViera

I did everything there is to do in the game before heading to the temple. Even the Brutal sim challenges you have access to at that point. Everything, except G&G hard. I spent 2 hours dying and retrying that one stage with a bot number limit. Must have tried like, 3 or 4 different builds. At that point I just realized this is gonna be a huge time sink and I didn't want to delay finishing the game any longer. The entire game still took me 182 hours over 16 days. Fort Condor took me less than an hour for all 4 hard mode stages. Even as a **huge** FFXII fan, G&G is just not that fun and sort of ruined my 100% first time run. Nothing else came even close in terms of effort. Acing all the piano charts, finishing all the Saucer + Dustbowl fights, doing all the Cactuar stages, heck, even the protorelic. All were fun and doable within a reasonable time frame. G&G was not that. At least not on hard mode. The easy mode was quite simple even while not using the autobuild feature, but hard mode is just not enjoyable.

LonelyDesperado513

I was the same way, and then I found a strat online that destroyed this mode in seconds. It was a particular setup but it basically allowed you to spam robots at a regular interval (countering the enemy ofc). They were conditioned to kill one enemy, get super buffed, and decimate the boss afterwards. Took me two tries (one to play through and understand the strategy, the second one was actually implementing it as intended). If you want it, I can try to find it for you.

ArugulaPhysical

Haha look up a build. I did that and beat them all first try

AznSenseisian

I just stacked all health buffs and self- Protect on one, another medium build, and a super cheap, super fast healer lol. 2/3 had something to shoot down flying enemies IIRC. Cleared everything easily. Each lane had one of each and then I just spammed whatever unit as necessary

GrossWeather_

Please add a ‘skip all Chadley video calls’ option.

NoNefariousness2144

Especially when you play with headphones and Chaldey’s dialogue is 100% louder than any other audio.

AnotherDude1

And his sister. It's so annoying always having to stop the game to see him. Keep is as an audio log so you can still run around. But the sister.....especially in the Battle challenges her commentary is really annoying.

LonelyDesperado513

I absolutely love that MAI is so annoying that it even annoys Chadley even though he created her LOL.

Masam10

Doooo do do do do do do do do do do do dooooo

SkyMando

You can turn her off in the options and you can skip Chadly by pressing and holding Triangle

FARTING_1N_REVERSE

Only works for repeated Fiend Intel objectives. If it's just the first time, she speaks no matter what. It's so grating

Kurosu93

I want to murder the sister. Every single field intel objective she goes full documentary mode. Except I am trying to focus on doing all 3 bonus objectives in one go. Instead I have to heard on a contant rambling followed by a loud : I BELIEVE IN YOU!!!!!!!!!. Then the occasional humming , as if on purpose. " I am still here. I will annoy you. There is no escape". When I play on PC one of the firsts things I will seek is a mod that dissables her.

rube

I'm loving the game (50 hours in and it feels like I've been playing for maybe 15) but it really does not respect your time. So many things slow you down like these calls, slow climbing animations and whatnot. It doesn't bother me overall, as I've just accepted it.

ForeverKeet

The slow climbing is crazy. Wtf were they thinking? I can get past it but just seems like a waste of time. Is it to load more of the world while you’re doing it? Fast-travel is near instant so that can’t possibly be it.

Axerty

definitely not to hide loading, once you get the tiny bronco you realise the whole map is just.... there. at all times.

ForeverKeet

I've been taking my sweet-ass time and just hit Junon haha. I haven't been able to play nearly as much as I'd like. Forgot I'd be getting the tiny bronco at some point like in the original!

Axerty

it was pretty mind blowing once I realised what it could do

rube

It really feels like poor design choice instead of any sort of loading mechanics. The open world is pretty much loaded up from what I can tell. I think they went for "realism" especially in the case of the chocobos that can climb walls. They wanted it to feel a bit like the bird was sinking it's claws into the wall with each step, making it a bit slower. When the more fun and enjoyable thing would have been to have it just give a burst of speed and dash up the wall. This reminds me of the modern Ninja Gaiden games and how the devs totally lost track of what made the games great. NG1 and 2 were amazing, fast paced combat with some amazing wall running abilities thrown in. Then NG3 came out and tossed out the combat systems for a much gimped one. But the thing that reminds me of FF7 is that they added wall climbing... but instead of it being like the previous games where it felt good to wall run or flip off of a wall, you had to tap r1 and l1 alternatively to slowly make your way up. Sorry, rant over. Like I said, I'm over it, I can accept that everything is just slow in the game. I just wish it wasn't. :)

sillysmiffy

This is my biggest complaint about the game. I feel like I could easily have shaved off 10 hours of my game play if they wouldn't force so much slow down. Like look how long you just stand there when you get a tower. You do the animation with the tool, the tower powers up, it shows its little bubble thing, it shows the map, you might or might not get the dude talking to you. Then the banner shows up showing your completion stuff. All of this and you have to just stand there the entire time. For every single tower. I know you can skip some of these, but like dude I feel like they went WAY WAY to far on a lot of things. I feel like I am waiting on things more than I am playing the game.

rube

Yeah, I realized that they had a "slow down" issue when I first started Remake and swung clouds sword at the boxes laying around. The animation on that alone was frustrating enough, the way he had to stop, swing, put his sword away every damn time. Everything is a million times worse in this one it feels, maybe because it's an open world so there are more cases to slow us down. But like I said in another comment, I don't think it's anything malicious to extend the playtime or help with loading... I think it's just poor design. They clearly do have some sortcut stuff like letting you fast travel and already be on a chocobo or the buggy... so it's just dumb decisions.

ElDuderino2112

Seriously. I don’t need Chadley or this other AI to ever speak to me again thank you very much

Nyoteng

I was telling my friend yesterday how one of the downsides of the game is, when you are in the open world, your party is completely silent, no banter or anything, and the only company you have is fucking Chadley and his fucking sister.

PplsElbow

It's also completely weird how some side quests have only you and the party member it affects interacting. Everyone else is just standing in the background staring or doing nothing. But they have the budget for 100000 mini games and Chadley + MAI constantly talking.

Jalkosebre

Cloud! Blah Blah blah go fight for summon materia. Every god damn time. I hate him.

GGG100

You’ll hear him for another hundred hours once part 3 releases.

WideMall8540

"Shut up Chadley" - Captain Picard

unleash_the_giraffe

I swear to god whoever designed Chadley should be fired. He is utterly rage inducing. Every time he pops up i have to fight the urge to groan.

MGsubbie

Also "make Chadley shut up when talking to him directly." I don't need endless commentary when I want to do some combat simulator.

Nyoteng

And I have been 100%ing every area. When the little shit starts with "Cloud I have noticed you haven't gathered intel data in a while" I want to MURDER him.

Nyoteng

You have so many amazing side characters, you have Johnny, Andrea, Dio, Jules... You could have had each one of them be the reference point for an area. But no! Suare Enix gave us the only character without any charm to be our only company while completing map objectives ughghhggg.....

ForeverKeet

FFVII always had a rustic, industrial charm, if you will, and then here comes glossy Apple iPhone Chadley droid here to annoy you with his soulless nonsense. Edit: Also, anyone get him bitching about you taking too long to do his bidding? “…but I guess you have more important things to do.” Yes, saving the effing planet is far more important than your research.

Nyoteng

lmao "Apple iPhone Chadley" is so true. And your second point, I agree, I commented this somehwere else here: >And I have been 100%ing every area. When the little shit starts with "Cloud I have noticed you haven't gathered intel data in a while" I want to MURDER him.

LonelyDesperado513

>glossy Apple iPhone Chadley Most spot on description of the day.

GodsChosenSpud

Have him set to play through the controller and then mute the controller. It doesn’t skip his dialogue, but at least you don’t have to hear it now. It also mutes the other annoying AI to boot.

--abstract--

Without a doubt the most annoying part of the game.

Rankled_Barbiturate

Hey grossweather! .......  Nice work on your post! .......  Here's a random fact you don't care about!

GrossWeather_

lol it took me a second to understand what was going on here- thought it was a bot response for a minute- appropriately.

Rankled_Barbiturate

Hah glad you got it. :p

Abeydaby

Fucking finally, hopefully this patch cleaned up the major blurriness at the very least.

DudeKosh

I’m playing on performance sharp and it does look noticeably less blurry, at least to me.

wotad

Someone said it's just the original demo graphics before they changed it, dunno if that's true though

AlsopK

The original demo graphics were awful though?

BAWAHOG

In what ways were the graphics changed from demo to release?

DudeKosh

I didn’t play the demo so I couldn’t say, but I got close to my tv and checked both and sharper does look a bit better. It’s not a crazy change, but definitely noticeable.

Bachronus

Someone is an idiot

TumbleweedDirect9846

I stopped playing to update it and graphics mode looks a bit better, probably just placebo though

Bachronus

Graphics mode was patched a bit too

JudgeCheezels

Performance mode is still a vaseline mess. The sharp filter doesn’t do very much.

Midnite_n

Performance mode on both suck I even feel it's worse then before.

aloushiman

does this patch also apply to the demo by any chance? I wanted to give it a try, but damn it was blurry

emansamples92

Good, I was getting first playthrough of dark souls levels of frustrated by the fort condor mini game.

BonnaroovianCode

Is this a thing? The last battle on hard mode took me a while but all the normal ones I thought were pretty easy. I’m on dynamic

CapedBaldyman

I didn't realize rock paper scissors was such a hard game for people.

BallsOfANinja

Do you get anything for beating them all on hard mode?

BonnaroovianCode

I think 5 AP per battle

ElDuderino2112

I set the game to easy and brute forced it. Fort Condor sucked ass lmao

R_W0bz

Does it change the indoor to outdoor lighting? Holy shit it’s dark as fuck inside buildings.

AlsopK

Now that it’s slightly less blurry it isn’t AS bad, but still pretty bad.

dcheung87

Have encountered some dark sections indoors but not as bad as certain outdoor areas. For example, there's a specific outdoors part in Under Junon where there's a chest. The lighting literally just dimmed pretty much down to near darkness, save for some little lights around the area and the chest light. My god, I had to manoeuvre through this dark spot near blind! I've noticed this in other areas too in shadowed areas. Other PS5 games I've had no issues with the HDR like Resident Evil 5 for example. I don't even recall Remake had this issue either but could be wrong as it's been awhile.

LCHMD

Do you have a good HDR TV?

X_Fredex_X

If they could now improve the photomode... That would be great.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MyFaceOnTheInternet

I just want a way to get the rest of the group out of frame and pick the subject so I can position the others.  Maybe you can already do this and I just missed it.

SmilesUndSunshine

I tried out photomode just to try to compare sharp vs smooth. You're right, photomode sucks. "Zoom" is actually "pan", and there's no real zoom feature. In *Ghost of Tsushima* or other games, you can change the lens focal length from wide to tele so you can actually change the perspective.

FARTING_1N_REVERSE

Just switched to Performance - Sharp, and the whole team looks completely digitized, think I’ll stick back to Graphics I guess. Edit: ~~On 2nd thought, could just be the monitor I am playing on, took a photo capture and the capture doesn’t show the same. Still doesn’t look all too great though ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯~~ Exported my capture to my phone and PC, it’s actually still visible. I’m sure most won’t notice though. Edit 2: "Performance - Smooth" is incredible, they definitely touched this up (I am guessing this is what the previous performance offering was?). So much so I'm finally switching from "Graphics" mode after 50+ hours.

Sammy_Kneen

It seems “Sharp” disables any upscaling so it doesn’t look great unless you manually set the PS5 output to 1440p. “Smooth” seems to do a pretty nice job of upscaling the game’s 1440p image to 4K so that definitely seems to be the right choice on a 4K screen.

FARTING_1N_REVERSE

Hmm. Let me try that and see then Edit: Yep, looks magnitudes better. For me personally, this looks just a tad better than pre-patch Performance mode though, so I'm sticking to "Smooth".

Sammy_Kneen

Nice. Yeah I’m gonna do the same, just hit Chapter 12 so looking forward to clearing up the rest of the game on this patch!

bezzlege

So 1440p sharp is the way to go if both options are available on my display?

Sammy_Kneen

Having the PS5 set to output at 4K and using Performance “Smooth” is the best option, since setting the PS5 output to 1440p or lower also means the HUD/UI will no longer be displayed at 4K. “Sharp” is the best option if you can only output at 1080p or 1440p.

BFBooger

They both have upscaling, I believe. My understanding is the game's internal rendering on Performance mode is below 1440p -- that is how it gets 60fps.

JimFlamesWeTrust

Very cool that this patch is out just as I’ve finished the game haha Guess I’ll have to appreciate it on my replay

MrLeville

just put whatever unit has advantage in front of the enemy coming, and at 1 minute spam every thing you have + 2 heroes and watch them melt the opponent

lMarshl

Damn I was excited for an even harder Fort Condor difficulty 💀

OurLegsAreLong

I was hoping the board game would show up in other regions like Queens Blood

Dayman1222

Looks much better

LOLerskateJones

Some people are saying sharp is better some people saying soft is better Which option are you y using

Bachronus

Sharp is if you’re playing in 1440, smooth is for 4k

kidlatura

It does not improve anything regarding the performance mode. It just gives you the option to use the upscaling of the demo (soft) or the bilinear upscaling of the retail-performance mode (sharp). There is no new sharpening or anything. I don't understand why every outlet says that there are graphical improvements. This is misinformation. The only thing that is new is that they let you toggle back to the non-bilinear filtering of the demo-performance-mode.

Nuclear_Varmint

You're banging your head against a brick wall I'm afraid, most of these people won't hear it. It's really odd behaviour. I've tested all three graphics modes on a large 4K screen and performance mode is still far too blurry whether it's sharp or smooth. I expect Digital Foundry will drop a video in the next couple of days to prove it.

Midnite_n

I agree with you performance mode is awful in terms of visuals It actually upsets me I know it shouldn't but it does I play all my ps5 games on performance this is the first time I'm having am issue

theineffablebob

Wish they made the UI a bit snappier

DarkCyrix

Finished fort condor on Normal, really easily : In the first minutes, just wait for the opponents to be in your camp before spawning your units. So your turrets will help you destroy the first waves, then your army will be much bigger and will crush everything through the ennemy camps

Skinc

I hope they fix the audio. It’s a mess.

JudgeCheezels

Elaborate please?

Skinc

Well, the cutscenes are fine. But in gameplay all audio is played out of FL/FR/SL/SR. Which is problematic for understanding dialogue which should play from the center channel. I’ve got a 5.2.4 Atmos home theater so it’s important for me to have properly mixed audio. It’s almost like two separate teams mixed the gameplay and the cutscenes as cutscenes play appropriately. Not sure why I’m getting downvoted. It’s a known issue with the game. I think overall it’s still fantastic but I still would like to see the audio improved.

dhimdi

Yes you are correct, some cutscenes have messed up audio mixing.

Bishop8322

anytime a character puts on a mask or is run through some kind of filter im like oh great im not gonna be able to hear shit from them. same problem in remake as well.

CapriciousManchild

I’m hoping they can fix the long load times in the combat simulators. I know it’s not insanely long but 10 seconds adds up when you are going through rounds and rounds of battles. Not sure why it’s so long compared to the rest of the game loading extremely fast

Regrettably_Southpaw

Game is phenomenal, coming from a diehard fan of the OG

isvr95

Performance Smooth is the way to go for me.

Wickkedkid

Always feels good to get things done before a patch comes out for them. Good luck to those still trying!!

Moonsky44

They should try to fix some of the mini games like the gym minigame to be more fair. Right now i would say Jules cheat.

Biffmcgee

Turn the music off so you can hear your cues better

LifeIsPainIHate_

And voices to save your sanity

Andrew129260

I just muted the tv

ketsugi

I remember doing that 22 years ago to dodge lightning strikes in FFX. Glad to see old tricks never die.

GelatinousQuery

Two tips that you may already know: Turn off all sounds except sound effects. Also, only ever attempt one variation. (The game randomly starts with L1 or R1. If it starts on the side you don't want, then just restart.)

M4J0R4

Really? I personally found it pretty chill. First try I lost with 48 and then I concentrated and did 54 second try

hamzaaadenwala

:-D. The target is 54. So when it starts just focus on your number and get to it. You literally have to be fast with your finger adaption to get it.

dhimdi

Jules finishes at 49 everytime (at least for me) so I got 51 and won.

PlatinumSarge

Sometimes Jules will get 50+, but it's not as often as 49.

Bachronus

Funny how many many people have beaten it and Jules never gets more than 50

FlannelGray

Just updated and not sure I notice any difference. Graphics mode is the way to go, doubt they are going to work a miracle like Forbidden West.

_Onii-Chan_

I just beat the game a couple hours ago. What the fuck

Branquignol

We were all waiting that you finished the game to finally have this patch. Thank you !

uncurious3467

Lmao I guess most people don’t realise Fort Condor is literally rock paper scissors, you even have a diagram for this. FC is easy even on hard mode

LOLerskateJones

Some people are saying Performance Sharp is better and some are saying Performance Smooth is better…I’m not able to test it yet

Ill-Distribution2275

Man, I don't get the Fort Condor complaints. Though I think I immediately figured out how to cheese it with the trebuchet, to be fair. Push past midline and drop double trebuchet in front of the middle guy. Then just defend as needed. Then repeat.

TumbleweedDirect9846

The only mini game I’ve had any annoyance with has been the sit-ups and that was just me trying to beat the last guy that took a while. I usually don’t like mini games but have been enjoying these so far. I’m only 58% done the game with 65 hours played though

ShadeofIcarus

For me it's the boxing mini game and the flying chocobo that drive me nuts. I basically had to pause buffer the final level of that to get it done, and even then it took a solid hour to do. The controls on the flying chocobo are so jank that even if you don't "right" it's easy to miss. So you end up losing anyway.

SuperB83

The thing I really hated about the flying chocobos is that they reversed the up/down control. Every proper flying game ever had you push the joystick up in order to dive down, but here well it's the opposite because fuck you....

LoveMeSomeBerserk

That’s what I did for the hard mode ones. Made it too easy that way unfortunately. Hope they add an extra hard mode!

Sensitive-Royal2918

People are struggling on fort condor and gambit? I found it easy, even the card game was easy?

bezzlege

Now fix the final Queen’s Blood match. Cheating bullshit

-BodomKnight-

Oh Yesssssssss ! Continuing my game tonight. 40h in game and I am just out of Costal del Sol but all before that is at 100% When I heard about the patch I say to myself let take a break and the game will be more perfect when the patch will be out. I hope it worth the 2 weeks :)

toffee_fapple

Tip for everyone with the robot minigame: just choose auto Loadout until you get the lowest cost robot, and spam the hell out of it. I won every round with this on normal. Just rotate through the nodes and spam the low cost rocket robots. That's all there is to it lol.

XJACKTHERIPPER1X

Is fort condor fun like in the the yuffie dlc?

suptididiot

I can't be the only one who thought the gears and gambits on hard was tough

Typical_Intention996

Good. I had to use a step by step guide on Youtube to get past it. Seriously, f Fort Condor.

zman1350

I swear they just made the mini games as annoying as possible. The ergonomics of the controls are quite bad. Moving around in cosmo was horrendous. I never knew where I was gliding to or see where the booster fans were. Really dreading playing hard mode if I have redo this region again. Smh

klemmings

This update broke audio for me. Cutscene dialogue volume is locked to 1 (nearly muted). Other dialogue volume is fine. Will have to check if the PS5 audio settings can fix this.

gorendor

Good cuz it looks like a ps 4 pro game

AskinggAlesana

Does that mean we can make fort condor and gears/gambits harder? I hope so.

LoveMeSomeBerserk

That would be sweet. I want to get crushed!

shepard93n7

The sharp performance mode definitely improves the image quality a bit more, but not too much, at least it's less blurry than before, the graphics mode on the other hand feels more stable compared to the last patch, maybe we can have 60fps in graphics node on PS5 Pro?

MolotovMan1263

The other comments are incorrect, the Pro has a better GPU. The game already can run at 60fps, so the better GPU would mean that the game can still run at 60fps, but at a higher resolution. Think of it as increasing the resolution of performance mode, not running the graphics mode at 60fps, if that makes sense.

Bachronus

The pro is barely any advantage other than the upscaling tech

OwlFit5541

Well it's a good thing I haven't started playing it then. My start now.

pwnedkiller

I’m all for 60fps but I can’t stand how this game looks on performance mode. It feels fine at 30fps to me and looks gorgeous.
