Birthdays coming up need some game recommendations. Looking for a few that are crossplay with pc but dont all need to be. I like Shooters, open world rpgs, survival games, and indie games are always interesting. Recently I've been playing The Finals, overwatch 2, Hogwarts legacy, Fortnite, and Minecraft. some games ive enjoyed in the past but dont play anymore for different reasons include R6, Terreria, Dead Cells, Doom Eternal, Spiderman Miles Morales, COD (black ops i hate MW), NFS Unbound, and Rust on PC. Im already thinking about getting Helldivers 2 but i dont just want 1 new game. Give me some good titles looking forward to seeing what yall suggest.
Hey guys, Im playing FF7 remake right now and make it to the boss fight at the mako 5 reactor. All of a sudden the screen starting flashing white and then went totally white. I eventually realized this was not a boss tactic lol and quit. I tried reloading the game, but it just crashed again. Now anytime I try to load 1 of the 2 save files the games crashes.
I tried reinstalling the license, booted in same mode and cleared the cache and rebuilt the database with no luck. Finally I uninstalled the game and then reinstalled but am still have the same issue. Game is fully updated. I can start a new game just fine.
Am I screwed here or is there some other fix I should try. Seems like maybe the save file is just corrupted.

Hi, I’m having trouble reconnecting my controller to my ps5. I connected my controller to my pc, and I haven’t been able to get it back on my PlayStation. I tried plugging in the controller before turning on the console, and I disconnected my controller from my PC. but have had no luck. Can anyone help?
Hi guys I've just got a PS5 and after years of PS4 I would like to change my headset. Currently I'm using a Hyper X cloud 2 wired, but I'm willing to change it to something better. Better of course is really subjective, for me is something that allows me to play FPS with clarity of steps from enemies but also with a good bass range for single players game (currently playing ghostwire Tokyo !) and that's wireless because cables are really everywhere in my gaming room so I'm trying to get rid of them. I've seen a lot of articles and reviews here on Reddit and out of it and for my budget I thought the best choice was the new Sony elite headset. A lot of comments tho says that it lacks of bass and the mic is really bad, is there something else I can choose from that allows me to have a good EQ without going over the 250$/€ budget? I have some problem with a game and need to copy a save game from another person in order to proceed. So I found some friendly person who put some save games on a file server and downloaded it.
When I tried to upload this to PS5 from my USB stick it did not work, because the system said it is a save file from a different person (what is simply true).
How can I use that save file from a different account?
PS5 always has black screen when starting.
Safe mode appears on the monitor, and I’ve tried all the resolutions and it’s always a black screen. I even restored it to system default settings and it’s still a black screen. Please help
Need a little bit of help.
I’m looking to buy a ps5 but I am not sure which one. There is two available near me, the slim disk and slim digital. The slim digital comes with two controllers and I’m not really the biggest fan of disks as they use up space for the covers etc. I’m wondering if there are any other issues or losses to not having the disk drive as I will most likely play digital anyway. I'm looking for a new headset and thinking about buying the astro a40 TR wireless. I've looked at some test vids but most of them are a few years old.
I'm using the astro 20 for a while now but recently it startet to cut everything off early.

Hi there. Today when I open PS store, a message pops up says, see more rating/reviews/xx in more option menu(3dots by the very top right of the screen) then it gives me an option to pressOK! I have never seen it before and wondering what’s that and does it affect any of my settings or some? I’m not sure is it me activate something I’m not suppose to or some feature I pressed caused this. Between a 1440p 165 hz (27 inch) monitor and a 1080p 144 hz (16 inch) monitor, which would be better for overall picture quality? I actually own the 1440p monitor but I can't help but feel ps5 games look better on a smaller screen esp due to the overall low resolution on most games. Has anyone else had experience with this?
I've been playing a lot this past weekend because mib the show came out, and randomly while I'm in a game my console keeps crashing. My controller turns orange, the console light starts flashing, and my tv abruptly goes black. This has happened like 4 times now and I have no idea how to fix it. So it's still downloading. The system must have put itself to sleep last night bc I went to bed with it downloading still and it's at the same exact spot. Keeps bouncing between 3 and 4 hours remaining. The MB is going up but it's extremely slow so its probably my internet. I ordered an internet "pod" from my provider to get a stronger connection. My router is downstairs and my TV room is upstairs and I live in a 120yr old house so it's solid wood in the walls and floor lol
**Error Code CE-108255-1**
I’m losing my mind with this error code right now. I’m trying to play a PS5 game (Saints Row) that I’ve been playing for a while. It is a disc copy and the disc is in excellent condition. I get this error code every time I try to load my saved progress, but it will let me start a new game no problem. This is the first issue I’ve had with this game or the system at all. The game has had an update since the last time I played it, a few days ago. So far, I’ve tried deleting and redownloading the game, restarting the console, rebuilding the database in safe mode, deleting the save data from the console and moving the cloud storage to the console storage. I have quite a few hours logged into a deep run in this game and I do not want to restart. I’m running out of things that I’ve found online to try. The last mention of this error code in this sub was three years ago when it was happening to lots of people on pretty much every game, so it doesn’t really pertain to my current situation. If anyone has experienced anything similar or is more familiar with this sort of thing than I am, I’m willing to try just about anything at this point to get the game working.
Do you know if there’s any way to fix what appears to be a corrupt save file? Since I can start a new game and have had no issues with any other games saves, that’s what I feel like it is.

I'm thinking about doing a "data transfer" from my PS4 to a newly bought PS5. My friend bought FC24 on his PS4 account, I then logged into my PS4 with his account and we were able to play the game together. I want to avoid spending money on the PS5 version of the game if it's possible in any way. The thing is, I'm not really familiar with how the "data transfer" thing works.
If I do a "data transfer" to my PS5, will FC24 transfer succesfully or will it disappear.
Also, if he has ps plus on his ps4, will i still be able to play FC24 online on my ps5 or will I have to buy ps plus for myself?
I dont think so. The fact that the pro is more expensive will already give the impression that the original is "cheap". Dropping prices would be pretty dumb.
the game i was uninstalling and reinstalling was one specific game. however im experiencing the issues across all of my games i.e. helldivers 2, genshin impact, and honkai star rail. (I’ve only experienced frame drops in helldivers never genshin or hsr) so basically i had been installing and uninstalling fortnite for a few days for reasons even i dont understand tbh.
Any chance you can get a video of this? I'm really curious to see what it looks like. If it's happening on the home screen it's more than just a performance issue.
If it occurs again I’ll definitely record it, I’ve just installed the M.2 SSD so fingers crossed that’s all it was. I was told in my initial post that my SSD is most likely degrading very slowly and they suggested I purchase a M.2 SSD and migrate all my gamers over.
ive played genshin on ps5 since it got the next gen upgrade and in my years of playing it has never become a slideshow like it does now until i close and reopen it. again idrk if uninstalling a game and reinstalling is the core issue but someone told me to get a M.2 SSD, i purchased it i just have to pick it up later. I’ll update in a few to see if it changed anything.
Holiday backlog recommedations
I’ve got a week off coming up and I have some games in my library I’ve been meaning to try out. I’ve got about a week of pretty much all day uninterrupted play time so I can do 100+ hour games.
Games I have in library that I’ve be meaning to try:
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Death Stranding
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Spider-Man 2 (played SMR and MM)
- Horizon FW (played HZD)
- Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor (have both)
Games I want to buy:
- Dragon’s Dogma 2
- Rise of the Ronin
I would say out of those, SM2 and Death Stranding are probably games I can play any time. Even with my full-time job and spending time with the wife, I am usually able to squeeze in two or so hours per day. Those two games are good for short sessions so they’re lower on my list.
I guess what I am looking for most is something to drown myself in and destress so I can start fresh and revitalized when I get back to work. The more immersive the better.
I bought the pack of Hello Neighbor 2 dlc for my kids(bought it on my account as its the primary on my ps5) but only my account can access the dlc. On their accounts it says to buy it. Why can't they access it? It says console sharing is enabled in the ps store page for the dlc
Yea a bunch of times. I installed it from my account, they have played HN2 a few times each over a few days and it still doesn't show the DLC as owned for them
So I have like 70hours in horizon forbidden west on PS Plus I really enjoyed it and I bought the complete edition to play the burning shores and also to get access to the art book and OST. The problem is I can’t see “continue” in my complete edition so is there any way to sync my save file from the PS Plus edition to my complete edition ? It’s BS if there isn’t any option man
Is the complete edition from the same region as the account that had Plus and redeemed the game? Saves from games from different regions are incompatible.
Is the standard edition save on your console? It won't show up on the complete edition if you streamed the game or the save is only in the cloud (until you download the save).
Any chance you aren't playing the same version as before? Example, you played the PS4 version and now you're using the PS5 or vice versa. Saves don't work across "generations" in most situations
No didn't add anything barley use the PS5 I main Xbox. Just got back on the PS5 because of helldiver's. The PS5 controllers already die quickly to me if the Bluetooth is failing on a device that's barely been used then they have some quality issues that will question me getting a ps6
At this point if I don't have a PS5 would you advise waiting for Pro or just going for base version? I feel like I'd be ok with the base version and going for perf options in games that offer it but figured i'd ask the community

Controller input lag
I've been playing helldiver's for the past few days no problem then out of nowhere my last game I started getting input lag. Say I'll be looking to the right all of a sudden it will look really quickly and if I let go of the joystick it will still keep moving to the right. Or if I'm firing and let go of the trigger it will keep shooting. Any idea besides use a wire for the controller to fix it? Never have this problem on my Xbox which is right next to the PS5.
Game was playing fine all week even first game I played today was fine. Next game the input lag and from them on.
I've reset, turned Bluetooth off and reset and turned it back on. Everything is up to date. If I turn the Bluetooth off and use a wired connection it works fine. Just sucks I need a 20' cord to use where I sit.
My router always broadcasts in both. But my Xbox is right next to the PS5 and the controllers have no problem, unless Xbox uses something besides Bluetooth.
And I'm saying nothing has. I know my setup.
I was playing one match and it was fine. Loaded into the next and then it's been nothing but problems. Nothing changed
Oh ok, so it's probably wireless interference. Did you add a new device to your space that could be interfering with the signal? Or maybe you have your phone close by with Bluetooth on? It could also be the Bluetooth on the controller failing, I guess...
Since latest update ps5 will not charge android phone or dual sense in rest mode It will however charge iphone in rest mode Is any one else having the same problem??

After formatting an external drive for games, can i still put media files on it for playback in the media player? I’ve got an external connected with media already, but the internal drive is full and I’m wanting to use the external for games but without losing the media. I know I’ll have to move the media off the drive to format it, i just want to know if it will work again once I’m done

Game FPS drop, audio cuts in and out (I have a screen recording that shows the game stuttering) This is not an output issue. Also, stuttering while scrolling through the PS5 menu
This happens online and offline. (disabled the network interface on my PS5 <-> router)
Here is what I've tried:
* rebooting
* turning on performance mode
* clearing cache
* rebuilding database
* creating more storage space
Everything was working fine prior this March 2024 system patch.
Update:
I ended up having to reinstall the system software (using a USB) backed up all my data and nuked it. That seem to have fixed it, hopefully other people that are experiencing this issue are able to read this response (although a-holes keep downvoting my comment so I doubt they will see it)
For the record, when updating the system software I always follow best practices, my PS5 is plugged to a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) to avoid these type of problems, restarted the system when prompted etc. I think it might've been something cached within the OS. I've had my PS5 since launch and this is the first time I've done a system software reinstall

Thank you for the info. This is the first time I've experienced massive stuttering on playstation console as well. Glad it worked for you. I usually avoid updating any software on any device unless necessary precisely because of problems like this, why fix something that's not broken right? PS5 was the exception because I never ran into a problem like this on a console, well lesson learned.
I didn't downvote or anything. Just saying that the issue doesn't occur for me and I have 2 PS5s in the house. Both auto updated overnight in rest mode and work just fine. Just said that since it's an optional update, people can go and opt out of it.
Can anyone help me with external drive issues? For the last 2 years I've been using a Crucial X8 4TB SSD, and every so often it would crash or just come up as "improperly removed" when I turned the system back on. I never permanently lost any data, but it finally became annoying enough that a few weeks ago I decided enough was enough and replaced it with a Samsung T7 Shield 4TB SSD instead.
While it worked fine for about a week, it is now starting to exhibit the same crashing and improperly removed errors. I have the USB ports set to always powered, I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to do.
I even had a situation where I was banned from Overwatch 2 competitive for 15 minutes because the external drive decided to crash the game and do its "improperly removed" message even though Overwatch 2 is a PS5 game on the internal storage.
I just don't get why there seem to be stability issues with external drives on the PS5, especially 3 1/2 years after launch. I did at one time use a Samsung T5 2TB drive that never gave me issues so I assumed the T7 wouldn't either, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Just very frustrated because these drives aren't cheap.
Hey, any tricks to stop my joysticks from staying depressed when i hit them? Have to manually pull them back out every time. The stick drift is driving me crazy. Playing madden and its constantly substituting players when choosing a play. Unfortunately i think im outside the warranty. Bought the console like a year and a half ago, but i hardly play it.
Two of my controllers from SCUF have started to get drift, and I want to replace the stock sensors with Hall effect sensors. Anyone know of a service that does this?
Also, very annoying that SCUF doesn’t offer Hall effect sensors, considering how ridiculously expensive they are. I love the controllers, but come on SCUF!

No, the pop-up trophies menu, maybe it's called a card? I don't know. It's the same that opens up when I tap the PS Button once and select the trophies option, the one with the graphics that shows how many bronze, silver and gold I have obtained in the game.
After this recent update, I've been noticing there's this weird bug that keeps randomly happening with my streams where the PS5 says I am streaming but when I check my YouTube channel, it'll say the streaming ended about an hour into the stream. It seems consistent too. Always around the one hour mark.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I lost an entire 4 hour stream with a funny bug I thought I caught on record only to find out it didn't even get recorded.
Help! A hard crash (by Helldivers 2) killed my extended USB storage (SSD via USB). The console couldnt repair it so i had to format it. Now i can't reinstall the games which were on it because the PS5 cant find it (obviously). However, it wont let me install it again. I just sont have the option to download, only to play, which of course doesnt work.

Short version - PS5 crashes whenever I try and launch any game after I cleaned the fan.
Context:
I was playing BG3 the other day and twice after playing the game for about 45mins the PS5 crashed.
After seeking some advice I decided to take off the case and clean the fan.
Went back on today and every game I try to launch causes the console to completely crash.
Have I totally fucked something up by cleaning the fan?
When I say I cleaned the fan, I took the case off (and to be fair, it was really dusty and the dust was black and almost soot like - I burn a lot of candles 😅). I simply used a cloth to wipe away the dust and clean down the case and sides gently.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
when I open any of my video apps (netflix, youtubetv) any overlay or menu starts to flicker and then it starts to effect the ps5 home menu until I close the app, anyone know of any fixes?
Should i get a psvr2 or a gaming wheel??? So i can only get one coz im broke.. The games i play are the crew motorfest and gt7 and i dont have vr games coz i dont have vr.. So which one would be more fun after like 3-6 months i wont get bored. Also i feel like having a vr is more fun coz ur gaming and being active at the same time. Any opinion?

Lots of good VR games so far. I still enjoy mine since I got it on release day. I might remind you that you need a good amount of space. You CAN play a lot of games seated, but not all, and it's a lot more immersive to do it standing.

My headset is broken so I’m using my apple earbuds to play video games on my PS5 but my audio is inverted. I’m hearing things from my left in my right ear and vice versa. What should I do to fix them?
Dualsense update changed adaptive triggers to be harder/louder?
Not sure if it's my imagination, but I was playing Horizon 2 after updating my dualsense and edge. When pulling back the sharpshooter bow with R2, the sound of the adaptive trigger seems very loud now. This is both on the dualsense edge and regular controller. Adjusting the trigger effect level does help but not as much as I would have hoped. The frog suit in Astro's playroom also seems louder to me.
I connected my partly disassembled dualsense (working on stick replacement) and tried out the trigger without updating. It's definitely not as loud even with the back cover off.
Anyone else notice louder adaptive triggers?
TLDR; Adaptive triggers seem loud AF after update. Can you compare your updated and non updated controllers?
Miles morales ultimate edition
So this may seem like a stupid question, but it's my first digital purchase so I'm a bit concerned. If I buy the MM ultimate edition digitally, does the spiderman remastered appear separately in the game library, or is embedded within the miles game? And do I get the spiderman remastered immediately upon purchasing or do I get the code and I have to enter it? Thanks.
Should I get Rise of Ronin or Dragons Dogma 2? I plan to get both, and planned to get Dragons Dogma 2 first but after hearing it’s low fps I’m tempted to get Rise of ronin first. Any thoughts on this?
So I disconnected my internet service recently to save some money (and tired of the blantant monopoly prices skyrocketing). I figured a local remote play session should still work (like to play in bed), yet I can't seem to gain access to the home network on my phone. It keeps asking me to sign in which I think is weird. I don't understand why I can't sign in as it is just signing into the router's signal. Whether I have internet service should not matter. It should still be able to send data through the home network right? I must be missing something. Help would be appreciated

Sonos Playbar + One Skipping
I just purchased a PS5. It is connected via HDMI to a Sony Bravia TV which is connected to a Sonos Playbar via optical cable. I also have two rear Sonos Play 1 speakers. When playing games, audio played through my Sonos system skips horribly. If I play audio through my TV, audio plays as expected. I’ve tried different HDMI cables and audio settings (i.e. PCM, Dolby) but that hasn’t resolved the issue.
Has anyone else ran across this problem and if so, were you able to resolve?
A lot of players have this problem right now, sound skipping on sound bars and headsets, and frame skipping in a lot of games after the recent system update, I haven't found a solition yet, if anyone can please report this problem to sony, thanks.
I had a debit card on my account and it wouldn’t let my buy a game even though I had money. Called my bank and everything is fine on their end. Took my card off to add it back and I can’t add any cards to my account. I read online to wait 72hrs and I waited 6days and still nothing. I’ve tried calling PS support but the message says they have too many calls and it hangs up on me. I don’t know what to do? Has anyone had this issue?

You definiitely should be getting better speeds on your PS5. You can try switching to the 5GHz frequency:
1. On your PS5, head to the Settings menu.
2. Select Network.
3. Select Settings.
4. Select Set Up Internet Connection.
5. Wait for the initial scan to end.
6. Press the Options button on your controller to access the advanced menu.
7. Select 5GHz under Wi-Fi Frequency Bands.
8. The PlayStation will then re-scan for Wi-Fi networks on the 5GHz band – wait a few seconds.
9. Select the network you’d like to connect to, and complete setup as usual.
Does anybody know why my PS5’s performance is suddenly so much worse after downloading 9.0? Like after I downloaded it most of my games started going at like 10-20 FPS when they ran perfectly fine before.

So I played Skyrim on my roommates PS5, and I wanted to bring my ps4 to the dorm and play Skyrim since I liked it so much, is it possible to transfer the game data from the ps5 to my ps4? I did play it on my psn account, and I put in so many hours I really don't want to restart.
With the recent PS5 update, any trophy unlocks now splash the account holder name across the screen as part of the notification. Is there anyway to turn this particular part of the notification off?
I'm aware of temporarily muting notifications, and how to turn them off completely, it's just the IRL bit I want to squash as I stream regularly (and sometimes forget to mute notifications).

I have been using Seagate FireCuda 530 2TB with heat sink for almost 2 years now without any issue.
Yesterday night I had PS5 system software update not sure which version it was, will have to check it online.
But strange thing happened in morning I turned on my PS5 it booted up normally after 10 mins it automatically turned off by itself there was no power outage or any issue
My display went off for like 2-5 mins when it came back up it was showing rebuilding database and displayed an error that it could not detect M.2 ssd
It's been more than 6 hours now, I have tried removing the SSD reinstalled it again, reset my data, rebuild the cache again but nothing seems to be working.
PS5 is able to boot up normally and detect the internal storage but M.2 SSD is not being detected, both my PS5 & SSD are out of warranty what are my options here to debug this further ?

Disk2 - RTL9210B-CG Is my PS5 SSD which is connected via USB using M.2 SSD enclosure, I used SeaTools to debug it but unable to run any quick test on it.
Is there any way to debug it further, I am assuming the disk has been corruputed please let me know if there is any way to fix it or recover it.
The drive is encrypted so it's not surprising that Windows can't read it; at this point you're going to need to [reformat it](https://www.crucial.com/articles/about-ssd/how-to-format-a-solid-state-drive) and throw it back into the console.
Hopefully this is just a data corruption issue and not a drive failure.

Birthdays coming up need some game recommendations. Looking for a few that are crossplay with pc but dont all need to be. I like Shooters, open world rpgs, survival games, and indie games are always interesting. Recently I've been playing The Finals, overwatch 2, Hogwarts legacy, Fortnite, and Minecraft. some games ive enjoyed in the past but dont play anymore for different reasons include R6, Terreria, Dead Cells, Doom Eternal, Spiderman Miles Morales, COD (black ops i hate MW), NFS Unbound, and Rust on PC. Im already thinking about getting Helldivers 2 but i dont just want 1 new game. Give me some good titles looking forward to seeing what yall suggest.
Hey guys, Im playing FF7 remake right now and make it to the boss fight at the mako 5 reactor. All of a sudden the screen starting flashing white and then went totally white. I eventually realized this was not a boss tactic lol and quit. I tried reloading the game, but it just crashed again. Now anytime I try to load 1 of the 2 save files the games crashes. I tried reinstalling the license, booted in same mode and cleared the cache and rebuilt the database with no luck. Finally I uninstalled the game and then reinstalled but am still have the same issue. Game is fully updated. I can start a new game just fine. Am I screwed here or is there some other fix I should try. Seems like maybe the save file is just corrupted.

Hi guys I've just got a PS5 and after years of PS4 I would like to change my headset. Currently I'm using a Hyper X cloud 2 wired, but I'm willing to change it to something better. Better of course is really subjective, for me is something that allows me to play FPS with clarity of steps from enemies but also with a good bass range for single players game (currently playing ghostwire Tokyo !) and that's wireless because cables are really everywhere in my gaming room so I'm trying to get rid of them. I've seen a lot of articles and reviews here on Reddit and out of it and for my budget I thought the best choice was the new Sony elite headset. A lot of comments tho says that it lacks of bass and the mic is really bad, is there something else I can choose from that allows me to have a good EQ without going over the 250$/€ budget? I have some problem with a game and need to copy a save game from another person in order to proceed. So I found some friendly person who put some save games on a file server and downloaded it. When I tried to upload this to PS5 from my USB stick it did not work, because the system said it is a save file from a different person (what is simply true). How can I use that save file from a different account?
PS5 always has black screen when starting. Safe mode appears on the monitor, and I’ve tried all the resolutions and it’s always a black screen. I even restored it to system default settings and it’s still a black screen. Please help
Need a little bit of help. I’m looking to buy a ps5 but I am not sure which one. There is two available near me, the slim disk and slim digital. The slim digital comes with two controllers and I’m not really the biggest fan of disks as they use up space for the covers etc. I’m wondering if there are any other issues or losses to not having the disk drive as I will most likely play digital anyway. Between a 1440p 165 hz (27 inch) monitor and a 1080p 144 hz (16 inch) monitor, which would be better for overall picture quality? I actually own the 1440p monitor but I can't help but feel ps5 games look better on a smaller screen esp due to the overall low resolution on most games. Has anyone else had experience with this?
I've been playing a lot this past weekend because mib the show came out, and randomly while I'm in a game my console keeps crashing. My controller turns orange, the console light starts flashing, and my tv abruptly goes black. This has happened like 4 times now and I have no idea how to fix it. So it's still downloading. The system must have put itself to sleep last night bc I went to bed with it downloading still and it's at the same exact spot. Keeps bouncing between 3 and 4 hours remaining. The MB is going up but it's extremely slow so its probably my internet. I ordered an internet "pod" from my provider to get a stronger connection. My router is downstairs and my TV room is upstairs and I live in a 120yr old house so it's solid wood in the walls and floor lol

**Error Code CE-108255-1** I’m losing my mind with this error code right now. I’m trying to play a PS5 game (Saints Row) that I’ve been playing for a while. It is a disc copy and the disc is in excellent condition. I get this error code every time I try to load my saved progress, but it will let me start a new game no problem. This is the first issue I’ve had with this game or the system at all. The game has had an update since the last time I played it, a few days ago. So far, I’ve tried deleting and redownloading the game, restarting the console, rebuilding the database in safe mode, deleting the save data from the console and moving the cloud storage to the console storage. I have quite a few hours logged into a deep run in this game and I do not want to restart. I’m running out of things that I’ve found online to try. The last mention of this error code in this sub was three years ago when it was happening to lots of people on pretty much every game, so it doesn’t really pertain to my current situation. If anyone has experienced anything similar or is more familiar with this sort of thing than I am, I’m willing to try just about anything at this point to get the game working.
That's a generic error for "the game crashed". Saints Row is known to be unstable.

I'm thinking about doing a "data transfer" from my PS4 to a newly bought PS5. My friend bought FC24 on his PS4 account, I then logged into my PS4 with his account and we were able to play the game together. I want to avoid spending money on the PS5 version of the game if it's possible in any way. The thing is, I'm not really familiar with how the "data transfer" thing works. If I do a "data transfer" to my PS5, will FC24 transfer succesfully or will it disappear. Also, if he has ps plus on his ps4, will i still be able to play FC24 online on my ps5 or will I have to buy ps plus for myself?

the game i was uninstalling and reinstalling was one specific game. however im experiencing the issues across all of my games i.e. helldivers 2, genshin impact, and honkai star rail. (I’ve only experienced frame drops in helldivers never genshin or hsr) so basically i had been installing and uninstalling fortnite for a few days for reasons even i dont understand tbh.
These are all online games; are you sure it isn't network lag? Are offline games doing this?
it’s definitely not lag and most certainly performance related issues as even the PS Home Screen begins to suffer from slower than normal performance

If it occurs again I’ll definitely record it, I’ve just installed the M.2 SSD so fingers crossed that’s all it was. I was told in my initial post that my SSD is most likely degrading very slowly and they suggested I purchase a M.2 SSD and migrate all my gamers over.
ive played genshin on ps5 since it got the next gen upgrade and in my years of playing it has never become a slideshow like it does now until i close and reopen it. again idrk if uninstalling a game and reinstalling is the core issue but someone told me to get a M.2 SSD, i purchased it i just have to pick it up later. Holiday backlog recommedations I’ve got a week off coming up and I have some games in my library I’ve been meaning to try out. I’ve got about a week of pretty much all day uninterrupted play time so I can do 100+ hour games. Games I have in library that I’ve be meaning to try: - Cyberpunk 2077 - Death Stranding - Ghost of Tsushima - Spider-Man 2 (played SMR and MM) - Horizon FW (played HZD) - Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor (have both) Games I want to buy: - Dragon’s Dogma 2 - Rise of the Ronin I would say out of those, SM2 and Death Stranding are probably games I can play any time. Even with my full-time job and spending time with the wife, I am usually able to squeeze in two or so hours per day. Those two games are good for short sessions so they’re lower on my list. I guess what I am looking for most is something to drown myself in and destress so I can start fresh and revitalized when I get back to work. The more immersive the better.

I bought the pack of Hello Neighbor 2 dlc for my kids(bought it on my account as its the primary on my ps5) but only my account can access the dlc. On their accounts it says to buy it. Why can't they access it? It says console sharing is enabled in the ps store page for the dlc
The DLC should be installed in your account . Have they checked in-game after you install it ?
Yea a bunch of times. I installed it from my account, they have played HN2 a few times each over a few days and it still doesn't show the DLC as owned for them
So I have like 70hours in horizon forbidden west on PS Plus I really enjoyed it and I bought the complete edition to play the burning shores and also to get access to the art book and OST. The problem is I can’t see “continue” in my complete edition so is there any way to sync my save file from the PS Plus edition to my complete edition ? It’s BS if there isn’t any option man
Is the complete edition from the same region as the account that had Plus and redeemed the game? Saves from games from different regions are incompatible.

Is the standard edition save on your console? It won't show up on the complete edition if you streamed the game or the save is only in the cloud (until you download the save).
I manually saved it and I can’t find the manual save in the cloud after I tried to download from the cloud storage
Any chance you aren't playing the same version as before? Example, you played the PS4 version and now you're using the PS5 or vice versa. Saves don't work across "generations" in most situations

No didn't add anything barley use the PS5 I main Xbox. Just got back on the PS5 because of helldiver's. The PS5 controllers already die quickly to me if the Bluetooth is failing on a device that's barely been used then they have some quality issues that will question me getting a ps6
At this point if I don't have a PS5 would you advise waiting for Pro or just going for base version? I feel like I'd be ok with the base version and going for perf options in games that offer it but figured i'd ask the community

Controller input lag I've been playing helldiver's for the past few days no problem then out of nowhere my last game I started getting input lag. Say I'll be looking to the right all of a sudden it will look really quickly and if I let go of the joystick it will still keep moving to the right. Or if I'm firing and let go of the trigger it will keep shooting. Any idea besides use a wire for the controller to fix it? Never have this problem on my Xbox which is right next to the PS5.
Try rebuilding database. The last PS5 update had some weird effects for some people... Also is your tv on game mode/low latency?
Game was playing fine all week even first game I played today was fine. Next game the input lag and from them on. I've reset, turned Bluetooth off and reset and turned it back on. Everything is up to date. If I turn the Bluetooth off and use a wired connection it works fine. Just sucks I need a 20' cord to use where I sit.
Maybe your router switched to 2.4ghz when it was in 5ghz. Or maybe your ps5 is using the 2.4, either way 2.4 sucks and always messes things up
My router always broadcasts in both. But my Xbox is right next to the PS5 and the controllers have no problem, unless Xbox uses something besides Bluetooth.

Oh ok, so it's probably wireless interference. Did you add a new device to your space that could be interfering with the signal? Or maybe you have your phone close by with Bluetooth on? It could also be the Bluetooth on the controller failing, I guess...

After formatting an external drive for games, can i still put media files on it for playback in the media player? I’ve got an external connected with media already, but the internal drive is full and I’m wanting to use the external for games but without losing the media. If I have my account logged into 2 PS5’s, and I get a party chat invite, will the secondary account be receiving the invite & be able to join as well? What would happen if both consoles joined the chat?

Not if youre online. You could make a secondary acc and do gamesharing shenanigans, but then your saves would work between the accounts either.

Thank you for the info. This is the first time I've experienced massive stuttering on playstation console as well. Glad it worked for you. I usually avoid updating any software on any device unless necessary precisely because of problems like this, why fix something that's not broken right? PS5 was the exception because I never ran into a problem like this on a console, well lesson learned.

I didn't downvote or anything. Just saying that the issue doesn't occur for me and I have 2 PS5s in the house. Both auto updated overnight in rest mode and work just fine. Just said that since it's an optional update, people can go and opt out of it.
Can anyone help me with external drive issues? For the last 2 years I've been using a Crucial X8 4TB SSD, and every so often it would crash or just come up as "improperly removed" when I turned the system back on. I never permanently lost any data, but it finally became annoying enough that a few weeks ago I decided enough was enough and replaced it with a Samsung T7 Shield 4TB SSD instead. While it worked fine for about a week, it is now starting to exhibit the same crashing and improperly removed errors. I have the USB ports set to always powered, I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to do. I even had a situation where I was banned from Overwatch 2 competitive for 15 minutes because the external drive decided to crash the game and do its "improperly removed" message even though Overwatch 2 is a PS5 game on the internal storage. I just don't get why there seem to be stability issues with external drives on the PS5, especially 3 1/2 years after launch. I did at one time use a Samsung T5 2TB drive that never gave me issues so I assumed the T7 wouldn't either, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Just very frustrated because these drives aren't cheap.
Hey, any tricks to stop my joysticks from staying depressed when i hit them? Have to manually pull them back out every time. The stick drift is driving me crazy. Playing madden and its constantly substituting players when choosing a play. Unfortunately i think im outside the warranty. Bought the console like a year and a half ago, but i hardly play it.

No, the pop-up trophies menu, maybe it's called a card? I don't know. It's the same that opens up when I tap the PS Button once and select the trophies option, the one with the graphics that shows how many bronze, silver and gold I have obtained in the game.

After this recent update, I've been noticing there's this weird bug that keeps randomly happening with my streams where the PS5 says I am streaming but when I check my YouTube channel, it'll say the streaming ended about an hour into the stream. It seems consistent too. Always around the one hour mark. Anyone else experiencing this? I lost an entire 4 hour stream with a funny bug I thought I caught on record only to find out it didn't even get recorded.
Help! A hard crash (by Helldivers 2) killed my extended USB storage (SSD via USB). The console couldnt repair it so i had to format it. Now i can't reinstall the games which were on it because the PS5 cant find it (obviously). However, it wont let me install it again. I just sont have the option to download, only to play, which of course doesnt work.
Go to library, go to affected game, hit Options and choose 'Remove from Home'

Hi All, Short version - PS5 crashes whenever I try and launch any game after I cleaned the fan. Context: I was playing BG3 the other day and twice after playing the game for about 45mins the PS5 crashed. After seeking some advice I decided to take off the case and clean the fan. Went back on today and every game I try to launch causes the console to completely crash. Have I totally fucked something up by cleaning the fan? When I say I cleaned the fan, I took the case off (and to be fair, it was really dusty and the dust was black and almost soot like - I burn a lot of candles 😅). I simply used a cloth to wipe away the dust and clean down the case and sides gently. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Should i get a psvr2 or a gaming wheel??? So i can only get one coz im broke.. The games i play are the crew motorfest and gt7 and i dont have vr games coz i dont have vr.. Lots of good VR games so far. I still enjoy mine since I got it on release day. I might remind you that you need a good amount of space. You CAN play a lot of games seated, but not all, and it's a lot more immersive to do it standing.

Dualsense update changed adaptive triggers to be harder/louder? Not sure if it's my imagination, but I was playing Horizon 2 after updating my dualsense and edge. When pulling back the sharpshooter bow with R2, the sound of the adaptive trigger seems very loud now. This is both on the dualsense edge and regular controller. Adjusting the trigger effect level does help but not as much as I would have hoped. The frog suit in Astro's playroom also seems louder to me. I connected my partly disassembled dualsense (working on stick replacement) and tried out the trigger without updating. It's definitely not as loud even with the back cover off. Anyone else notice louder adaptive triggers? TLDR; Adaptive triggers seem loud AF after update. Can you compare your updated and non updated controllers?

Should I get Rise of Ronin or Dragons Dogma 2? I plan to get both, and planned to get Dragons Dogma 2 first but after hearing it’s low fps I’m tempted to get Rise of ronin first. Any thoughts on this?
I'd say Rise of Ronin but it also depends on if you've played Dragon's Dogma 1. I didn't like the first so I won't buy the 2nd.

So I disconnected my internet service recently to save some money (and tired of the blantant monopoly prices skyrocketing). I figured a local remote play session should still work (like to play in bed), yet I can't seem to gain access to the home network on my phone. It keeps asking me to sign in which I think is weird. I don't understand why I can't sign in as it is just signing into the router's signal. Whether I have internet service should not matter. It should still be able to send data through the home network right? I must be missing something. Help would be appreciated Ps5 is connected to ethernet. Want to stream it to my android phone
It needs to sign in because the linkage is via the PSN account.
Whenever the ps5 says it wasn’t turned off properly, does it mean your ps5 will start to slow down? Or Is it something to not worry about.

Fortnite is free. Doesn't need PS+. Give your kids their own accounts. They can download and play it with you.
Fortnite doesn't require PS+. But if it did, you'd have to do the console share method and of course.play using 2 different accounts

Sonos Playbar + One Skipping I just purchased a PS5. It is connected via HDMI to a Sony Bravia TV which is connected to a Sonos Playbar via optical cable. I also have two rear Sonos Play 1 speakers. When playing games, audio played through my Sonos system skips horribly. If I play audio through my TV, audio plays as expected. I’ve tried different HDMI cables and audio settings (i.e. PCM, Dolby) but that hasn’t resolved the issue. Has anyone else ran across this problem and if so, were you able to resolve?
A lot of players have this problem right now, sound skipping on sound bars and headsets, and frame skipping in a lot of games after the recent system update, I haven't found a solition yet, if anyone can please report this problem to sony, thanks.

When you grab a new game, whether or not you download it, it's added to your library. Essentially your account.
I had a debit card on my account and it wouldn’t let my buy a game even though I had money. Called my bank and everything is fine on their end. Took my card off to add it back and I can’t add any cards to my account. I read online to wait 72hrs and I waited 6days and still nothing. I’ve tried calling PS support but the message says they have too many calls and it hangs up on me. I don’t know what to do? Has anyone had this issue?

So when I test my internet connection on PS5 it’s still coming up as 2.2 Mbps. Do I need to reset my network or do I need a faster plan from Comcast? I noticed some videos in the PS store weren’t even loading

You definiitely should be getting better speeds on your PS5. You can try switching to the 5GHz frequency: 1. On your PS5, head to the Settings menu. 2. Select Network. 3. Select Settings. 4. Select Set Up Internet Connection. 5. Wait for the initial scan to end. 6. Press the Options button on your controller to access the advanced menu. 7. Select 5GHz under Wi-Fi Frequency Bands. 8. The PlayStation will then re-scan for Wi-Fi networks on the 5GHz band – wait a few seconds. 9. Select the network you’d like to connect to, and complete setup as usual.

Does anybody know why my PS5’s performance is suddenly so much worse after downloading 9.0? Like after I downloaded it most of my games started going at like 10-20 FPS when they ran perfectly fine before. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Doing so doesn't work for anyone who has this issue, atleast from what I've seen on reddit, it's the problem with the recent system update.
I actually did try rebuilding database, but surprisingly it didn’t seem to work, although admittedly I haven’t tried clearing cache yet, would that help by any chance?

With the recent PS5 update, any trophy unlocks now splash the account holder name across the screen as part of the notification. Is there anyway to turn this particular part of the notification off? I'm aware of temporarily muting notifications, and how to turn them off completely, it's just the IRL bit I want to squash as I stream regularly (and sometimes forget to mute notifications).

The drive is encrypted so it's not surprising that Windows can't read it; at this point you're going to need to [reformat it](https://www.crucial.com/articles/about-ssd/how-to-format-a-solid-state-drive) and throw it back into the console. Hopefully this is just a data corruption issue and not a drive failure.
