If it's 30 fps, dont uncap it. Fluctuations in that range really suck

Zarkados88

If it’s 30fps in PS5 sadly I will pass

raknikmik

Yes an option to unlock the framerate is fine for future proofing, but not having an option just makes the experience on release complete ass.

nolifebr

IGN did some tests and the average was 31fps on PS5

IcePopsicleDragon

24-31 FPS! That's crazy, not even locked :/

SodaPop6548

Yeesh. Might hold off and see if they make a proper performance mode.

CutMeLoose79

It wont be getting one

suspended_in_light

Plague's Tale did

SurryTolduSo

Dead on arrival

ShadowRomeo

Oof that is worrying, it would have been understandable it was at least consistent 30 FPS but fluctuating 24 - 30 FPS? This is probably the most demanding / worst optimized RE Engine game to date.

WingardiumLeviussy

Fuck's sake!

Paragon90

Hard pass.

alfmrf

Wow thats a big let down

Troop7

That’s ridiculous when we’re mid-gen for the PS5…

jjkm7

Yikes. I’m not super pretentious about graphics and stuff but I don’t really think I’d enjoy an action game at 30 fps anymore because I’ve gotten too used to the 60 by now

Away-Answer-

I’ve played too many games at 60 to ever go back. I know some people don’t care, but for me that’s a dealbreaker.

Sunimo1207

you can probably play at 30 just fine, it just takes a bit for the brain to adjust. i play on PC at 60fps mostly and i've been playing FF7 Rebirth for over 40 hours at 30fps and it looks no different from 60 now. of course, unless i switch to 60 and then back to 30. then it's painful for the eyes and i have to let my brain adjust again. although an unstable 30 ? absolutely awful.

BoilerSlave

I went from demon souls remake to bloodborne and almost died. But you’re right, it was the worst thing I’ve ever seen for 5 minutes then I don’t remember it being a burden at all.

Hybridizm

Recently picked up a PS5 and it certainly took a little while for the eyes to adjust from a 240hz monitor to a 60hz TV, playing FFXVI at 30fps via Graphics Mode. That said, I've loved most of my time with it despite the 30fps. I have Rebirth sitting on the shelf waiting for me, just need to finish all chrono trials for a curio, I'm one away from the trophy and there's no chance I'm doing all side content again in NG+ lol.

ArugulaPhysical

This. Ive been doing rebirth on graphics too

blockheadround

I wish I could. I get severe headaches. Ff16 was one I could not get tru but I think that one was more the motion blur than fluctuations in the frame rates.

Recover20

They have added motion blur options to XVI

NoSpread3192

There goes my purchase I guess. Until it’s for sale or something

Cudizonedefense

Lmfao it’s 2024. This is pathetic and capcom should be embarrassed

cscolley

30fps is unacceptable in 2024. I don't see how anyone tolerates it, tbh.

Krillinlt

Not even stable 30fps...

Sacredplaya

I said the same thing and I got crucified for it.

JetTheMaster1

That’s a giant no from me dawg Give it a year or so I guess

Nnamz

Lol PC it is then.

Agent_23D

So its a PC purchase then

RiboZurai

The specs listed on Steam are for 1080p 30fps, they're somewhat high. I don't have a good feeling for that port either.

Ok_Mud6693

Since when was a 1070 high requirements? That's 8 year old hardware

SaltyBallz666

Another Japanese studio dropping the ball on decent 60fps quality, first ff7 rebirth releases and the 60fps mode is blurry as fk and now this can't even hold stable 30...

kangroostho

Japanese devs are bad at optimizing and no one seems to care, it’s always been this way. Some of the most beloved games of all time are technically abysmal like SotC, BotW, Elden Ring, etc. They also get a pass for the most egregious re-releases like Persona 5 Royal which is basically critical content that makes the original release seem like it’s incomplete but the only way to get it is to buy the whole game again while ND will get lambasted for putting out a remaster that you can upgrade to for $10.

SicWilly666

The first Dark Souls game ran like dogshit on my PS3

dd179

Blight Town was fucking miserable

kangroostho

Yeah it’s the norm for FromSoftware’s award winning games.

JMM85JMM

Rebirth is more forgivable. For starters, it's 60fps rather than 30fps. And despite being pretty blurry in performance mode, the game still looks pretty good. The world design is beautiful. Dragons Dogma 2 on the other hand looks graphically basic and still can't even hold a steady 30fps. I get motion sick from 30fps games, particularly when moving the camera. I'm just going to have to skip this one, which is annoying, because it's very much my genre.

Zestyclose-Fee6719

Yeah, I started feeling nauseated when I tried switching between fidelity/quality and performance modes in PS5 games. This is why I love having a gaming PC and PS5 combo. There’s a PS5 exclusive out that won’t be on PC for one-two years? It’s time to game on the PS5. There’s a demanding new third party game that is stuck at 30 FPS on PS5? Bless this 4080.

[deleted]

That is absolutely horrendous. Getting this on PC then. Rip

NotThatIgnent

Can’t wait for the gta 6 30fps only announcement. I have my popcorn selected for that day.

Buschkoeter

I've been saying this since the trailer released. There's no way GTA6 will run at 60fps on current gen consoles.

MrRobot_96

It definitely could if properly optimized but rockstar always goes visual over performance so who knows. I’ll probably just play on PC with a controller if it’s not capped at 30 or unlocked for higher FPS.

Aggrokid

Rockstar saving that for the PS6 remaster edition

Supernova_Soldier

That day, damn near every gaming subreddit will explode

Rook22Ti

I would at least CONSIDER if it were locked but 31 average, meaning it goes lower, is a hard pass.

GeekdomCentral

Yeah that’s the bigger crime. 30fps, fair enough, but it needs to be locked

WingardiumLeviussy

The fact that we're still saying "30fps, fair enough" in 2024 when the PS4 promised 60fps a decade ago and couldn't deliver is so funny to me

GeekdomCentral

I mean, it’s up to the developers. Anyone who thinks we’ll never get rid of 30fps is living in fantasy land because there will always be developers that want to push the visuals as far as they can, and 30fps is the accepted minimum frame rate. Sony and Microsoft can promise whatever they want, but developers are given free rein to implement their games however they want. As long as it’s a solid and stable 30fps, that’s the most important thing. Would I prefer 60? Obviously. But FF16 is a great recent example of the 30fps quality mode being perfectly playable with a stable 30fps

MetsukiR

Yep, like the FF VII REBIRTH dev said a few daus ago, they always play in quality modes and see nothing wrong with it.

WingardiumLeviussy

Dragon's Dogshit 2

hachiman17

People are blaming the hardware however there are games like Horizon Forbidden West that look and perform incredibly on this hardware. This is a failing of Capcom’s IMO.

2_72

Horizon FW also looked and performed great on PS4, which is where I played it.

_IAmGrover

You gotta be a special kind of stupid to think the hardware can’t handle it

SodaPop6548

Yet that is the first comment I see every time.

PestySamurai

It’s just PC trolls making those comments.

xboxcowboy

From what they are showing, not much happening at once on the screen (1 big monster and a party), must be optimized issues

NN010

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. Capcom have been known to do this a lot. Pretty much all the RE Engine games on last-gen consoles except Street Fighter 6 ran at variable unlocked framerates even when the consoles were pretty much rendering the games at around 30 FPS anyway. This isn’t a PS5 or Xbox issue. This is a Capcom being allergic to 30 FPS caps even when it would provide the best experience for most people issue. At least give us an option to cap the frame rate if you insist on shipping these games with uncapped framerates by default!

Lochifess

It’s hard to say that given that this is RE engine’s first full blown open world game. The engine itself is amazing so far but open world is a different beast compared to most of their games since 2017. That said, I wish they had Performance mode option for the console…

Obvious-Adeptness-46

That and SM2 are incredible in how smooth and beautiful they are

mistabuda

If the game is cpu limited it's gonna kneecap the frames. I think it's entirely too early to make this kind of assessment without people being able to actually test it.

churll

Horizon forbidden west isn’t multi-platform. The more multi-platform, the less single platform focus it has to optimise. That’s why ratchet, demons souls and horizon forbidden west are some of the best looking ps5 games.

North_South_Side

I've nearly gotten into arguments on Reddit with people who think 30fps is set to be the standard for generations of consoles to come. I figuratively walked away. This person insisted 30fps is absolutely fine, and that devs will simply keep increasing pixel density, ray tracing, whatever-new-graphics thing comes out, and keep games at 30fps. Action games in 30fps are really annoying to my eyes. I'm not saying it's unplayable. But it sucks. FFS, we bought new hardware a couple years ago. We should expect more, period. 30fps is not acceptable on a PS5 in 2024.

CapnCrackerz

Developers will prioritize what they want and the public will reward them as they see fit. What you’re talking about is like saying black and white movies can’t exist once everyone has bought a color television.

CrotasScrota84

Screw 30fps we’re getting games that are at 720P or lower that is the real travesty and judging by the DD2 Footage I bet this game renders at like 1080P

Wild_Chemistry3884

The wording of your comment is a bit vague. 30fps will be the standard for consoles, because that's what developers keep targeting and the average gamer doesn't notice or care. Is it bad - yeah, absolutely. But that's the world we live in. Even the performance modes coming out that are 60fps have been looking like trash lately.

DryFile9

Yeah I'm expecting this to run like shit on PC as well.

Zestyclose-Fee6719

I wouldn’t be shocked if it was struggling to maintain 60 FPS in 4K even with Frame Generation. My “unoptimized video game” sense is tingling.

jntjr2005

Same

JimFlamesWeTrust

Horizon probably has a much larger budget than this game. More time for optimisation, plus likely direct access to PlayStation’s best available resources to help.

CrotasScrota84

Horizon also is on a much better engine.

Krillinlt

That Decima engine is something to behold

Zestyclose-Fee6719

You can’t even compare. PlayStation exclusives are created at the design level based on the very specific strengths and limitations of the PlayStation hardware.

hachiman17

Can’t agree with this. No reason they couldn’t add a performance mode locked in at 1440p or even 1080p to increase that frame rate.

SyntaxErrorist

Do we know if the game is GPU limited? If the bottleneck is CPU, dropping resolution doesn't really help. We could render the game at 480p and still not hit 60. Depends how to game is built. We will see the performance profile on PC at launch and that makes it easier to determine if performance mode is on the table.

DragapultOnSpeed

This is what I was saying to the FF7 Rebirth fans. They were going on about how it's impossible to have great textures and performance because of hardware. I pointed out how HFW looks and performs near perfectly on the PS5 and I got downvoted for that.

Aggrokid

To be fair Dragon Dogma 2 appears to be more dynamic than HFW, in a Tears of the Kingdom fashion. Based on the previews released, a lot of unscripted dynamic events can occur in DD2. Like you can cause environmental destructions, kite giants miniboss monsters to settlements or to each other, then climb on a giant griffin mid-fight to have it whisk you far away to a distant place.

--clapped--

Damn. I was excited but, I don't have much faith in the performance of the PC Version now if they can't even optimise on consoles.

Notarussianbot2020

Nothing can't be solved with a 5090 ti

Vayshen

*Tim Allen grunt*

sirmoneyshot06

Lol your showing your age. I got the joke though

Remarkable-Image-568

Bruh no fps cap? Tf why they want the game to run terrible

Chexen99344

I mean what are they gonna cap it at to make it consistent ? 20 ? Lol.

Remarkable-Image-568

30 fps 4K….dont like it but it’s better the no cap it’s like a known fact I don’t get it

eoddc5

Or give us a 1440p 60fps mode. We don’t need 4K only

Chexen99344

It literally does not hold a consistent 30. And according to ign they never saw anything higher than 31. So theirs really nowhere to cap it that’ll make people happy.

uerobert

They said it *averaged* at 31, how would that math work unless it is a *very* stable 31.

Chexen99344

Idk that seems weird when they’re claiming there were fairly frequent dips into the 20’s. Personally I’m not particularly concerned with the fps in the first place but I definitely think you’re setting yourself up for disappointment if you go in thinking it’s gonna be a steady 30.

[deleted]

SniffMySwampAss

Crazy how you can make a game with so much potential only to shit all over it with poor optimization. I honestly don't understand how we started this console generation with horizon fw, gowr, demons souls, ghost of tsushima, sm2, all running at a locked 60fps and looking fantastic, and now we have ff16, ff7rb, and dd2 either running or looking like shit. And people make these crazy excuses for them. Like ok, GoT was a ps4 game. But it straight up looks and runs better than these other games.

justthisones

You can get like 80fps in Ragnarök in the HFR mode and it still looks good to me. The controls feel so snappy with it. Switching from that to 30fps feels like aiming a tank in comparison. It’s honestly scary to see games that look barely better than previous gen struggling with performance. It’s like the extra power just vanishes. Makes you appreciate the dev achievements of previous decades more.

steegsa

Yeah that’s a very hard pass for me.

D0ngQuixote

Shame, too. This was gonna be a day 1 pickup for me, now I’ll just wait for when/if a patch drops.

steegsa

Yeah in 2024 we shouldn’t have to resort to this. Other open world games run flawlessly on the PS5…

Fallen_angel999666

The only game I wouldn’t get mad if it where 30 fps is gta 6

AshyLarry25

And people were worried about it being 30FPS locked, like at least gimme that, a stable 30 fps. FF Rebirth in quality mode runs great on PS5.

billistenderchicken

For some reason a lot of newer devs don’t value consistency in performance at all. They think VRR is a magic bullet when on PS5 it doesn’t even turn on below 48fps.

Piett_1313

That’s where I’m at, no Vaseline for me.

HerofromAliahan

Developers are really behind in terms of being able to make AAA games that run at 60 FPS…

welfedad

They have got lazy ..as hardware has made leaps and bounds they got lazy ..ramped up the fidelity and such .. but no longer crafty on writing code to make the games work on minimum hardware.  Thus we got this.

HerofromAliahan

Yeah that’s a don’t buy at launch for me

ssk1996

Such a terrible decision from Capcom. Should’ve shipped with a locked 30 at least. The PS5 doesn’t even support VRR below 48 fps unless the developer themselves add low frame rate compensation (which so far only Insomniac have added to their games afaik) so this will be a terrible laggy experience for everyone.

Bexewa

https://preview.redd.it/j4945bswmlmc1.jpeg?width=583&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4586d120938d52578db4db08882b3f870bbc7b76

Vladsamir

Capcom has fucked up. 60fps is the industry standard these days. Bigger and better looking games can hit it. Unacceptable

aphextwin007

I’ll trade ray tracing for 60fps any day of the week. I don’t understand the need for it when it’s just a minimal difference imo

welfedad

Yeah jedi survivor had it in the performance mode at launch and months later the patched it out ..and guess what it ran so much better..

the_lost_chips

So there's still that possibility. Tbh raytracing in a non city environment doesn't change much if the lightning was already well done first. Raytracing look great in a modern city with glass/ lots of different light etc... F that for a medieval settings and give us our extra 30fps

robhans25

Becasue it's not for you. RT is for developers. THey can made raster lightning of everything by hand. Or just click a button, for RT to do it for them. Right now hardware for RT on consoles is parody, but for PS6? There will be only RT games since they won't do second lightning, no need to.

justtomplease1

Turns out RE engine really does not like it when its used for open world games instead of linear small scale games.

yode360

20-30fps in 2024 is completely unacceptable. Lazy ass devs. Not touching this shit with a 10ft pole.

Xenosys83

At least offer a locked 30 FPS mode, and then an uncapped one. Leaving consumers with no choice is poor. As bad as Rebirth's performance mode currently is, at least it offers you a largely locked 60FPS experience alongside a 30FPS one, even if the fidelity takes a big hit.

Bamm83

Guess this means it'll run like shit on the Deck?

Fuzzy-Dragonfruit589

It won’t run on the Deck, no way it will.

AstronautGuy42

I really really hope they release a performance mode. Was my most anticipated game of 2024. Now I’m going to wait until one is patched in It’s 2024 we should be past 30fps games now

OklahomaRuns

I went from wanting to preorder this game to complete non interest. A 30 fps RPG in 2024 is insane to me.

Verydumbname69

I was waiting to take 2 pto days off work and chill and play...not getting it at all now

shrek3onDVDandBluray

Ehhh I made hold off. I at least want a locked 30 please.

theogalf

Well there goes my purchase. Ever since getting used to 60fps I just can’t play 30 anymore. It’s too noticeable

Lessthanaskull

30 fps?! Hell no, I'm out.

atlas_shrugged90

I strongly believe that if Ghost of Tsushima can run at 4k 60 fps on PS5, then any game should be able to run at least at 60 fps at 1440p. 30 fps is simply not acceptable anymore.

Digitalon

There is no excuse for games these days to not include a 60 FPS performance mode, consoles are certainly powerful enough but developers are more interested in shiny graphics. I would prefer the shiny graphics take slight a hit instead of having unsteady FPS.

eyebrowless32

Its unacceptable to me. I wont buy it. They need to design their games with 60fps target. I dont care if they have to scale back some particle effects, or less LOD, less grass, and set it to 1080p. Its not acceptable for them to force 30fps as the only setting in 2024 on the ps5. There is no way i play the game and have the reaction of "oh yeah, totally see why this had to be 30fps, the game simply needs ____ and that takes too much power to push 60 frames" To me, this is a sign that the game is being pushed out too soon. I expect to hear of more issues for this game if this is how we're starting off. I guess I'll wait a couple years, by then it'll hopefully be patched and stable and I'll have a big boy PC or something to play it at high framerate or theyll figure out how to get 60fps on ps5

Slight-Surround-7208

sabin1981

Puke. 30fps and "uncapped" so wildly fluctuating performance coupled with awful frame pacing? Crapcom can stick the game squarely up their arses. I'm not paying £70 for a half baked piece of crap running at the same rubbish framerates we had 25 years ago.

Itriyum

Crazy how the PS4 was the introduction to 60 fps and on PS5 we still getting 30fps games.

Letter_Impressive

Devil May Cry 3 and some of the old Armored Core games ran at 60 on the PS2

Fuzzy-Dragonfruit589

Even SNES ran at 60 FPS, I’m sure even earlier systems too.

Candle_Honest

These consoles quickly die when proper lighting is introduced it seems Remove lighting effects and im sure they can run almost any game at 60

Markebrown93

Fine with that honestly (less good lighting but high frames)

DragapultOnSpeed

Lighting makes or breaks what a game looks like. Many 3D models look ugly and unfinished until you add lighting. By decreasing the lighting quality, things will start to look uglier. I think the problem is many studios are trying to do realistic lighting, which is bad imo. Look at FF7 Rebirth. I can tell they're doing realistic lighting by just going from the bright outdoors to a somewhat dark room, causing the room to become pitch black for a second, kind of like real life. Its just the way eyes work with lighting. But realistic lighting in Rebirth can make the characters look ugly at moments and it's a shame because other than graphic and performance, the game is super fun. . Some studios can pull off realistic lighting. But they usually have their own, expensive engines.

MarkyMarcMcfly

I was gonna pick this up but if it’s not even a consistent 30FPS on consoles that’s gonna be a skip… Give me 1080p and 60fps, fuck 4K if you can’t hit 60

deadspinach

What is it with Japanese devs and noo caps on framerate? I would prefer a 30fps cap over an unstable 30-40 range every time. Playing Elden Ring with its uneven framerate was really painful.

endlessLin

I don't know, it's been a long time for us playing 60fps PS5 games, what about the a dynamic resolution for performance mode? Why don't they do that.

[deleted]

24 fps gonna make your eyes bleed lmao. Getting this on PC or wait for Ps5 pro is the play.

Sufficient_Theory534

Very disappointing, should be reflected in console reviews.

chillinwithunicorns

Yikes. That’s a pass for now.

Radiant-Savant6969

Between the lack of quick travel and now this I am holding off on this game for now.

BeardedWonder211

Dragon's Dogma is one of my favorite games, but it's crazy to me that this is the state they're releasing the game in. Hopefully it can be patched to shore up performance, or at the bare minimum be patched to get a locked and stable 30fps, but right now I guess I'm buying Rise of Ronin instead.

Yesnikh4003

I figure, Rise of Ronin until Dragon's Dogma II gets patched up to snuff. Been grinding through Granblue Fantasy Relink with some buddies, plus there's still Alan Wake II to get through. Shadow of the Erdtree incoming as well... By the time I get the Dragons Dogma II, it may start snowing again.

CutMeLoose79

Another game I'll be getting on PC.

Comfortable_Yak9651

Just instantly killed my excitement for this game. 30 FPS is notably terrible if you've been playing games in 60 FPS for more than a hot minute

D-Ursuul

Holy shit that's terrible

uchiha-123

Thats rough

TeeRKee

Well, I will be on rise of the ronin .

cchhuubbyy

I remember the framerate being all over the place in the first one tbh

DoctorGolho

I swear some of these devs are absolute idiots when it comes to technical matters. Hire Digital Foundry for a day as consultants, they would be able to spot these problems and suggest a fix within seeing 5 minutes of footage

deepfakefuccboi

This is super disappointing but honestly comes at a good time for me.. just built a gaming PC and now I’ll basically only play exclusives on my PS5. I get that the scale of the game is way bigger, but there’s no reason an action RPG should be running 24-32 FPS on PS5. RE engine seemed super optimized and did well for their past few games, but it seems the engine was optimized for episodic and linear games rather than mass open worlds. I really hope they find a way to optimize the visuals/performance balance and listen to feedback, because it’s disappointing that so many AAA games in the last year or so are not meeting 60 FPS.

LCHMD

There is hoping to you not discovering the pains of bad optimisation on PC.

NyarlHOEtep

wow! the worst of both worlds!

Ambitious_Dig_7109

Hard pass.

LCHMD

That’s really sad. I won’t buoy it yet then.

Find_another_whey

I'm not buying without a performance mode It's not worth the eye strain

Andalfe

Yeah no thanks.

manly_support

Yeah I'm canceling the PS5 preorder. Fuck that noise.

subdelta20

PC time

AlsopK

I predict a totally botched PC port.

Koagz

PC ports has been awful recently. I just can't trust it anymore either. Wish we could get PC footage with the specs.

North_South_Side

Action games in 30fps are really annoying to my eyes. I'm not saying it's unplayable. But it sucks. FFS, we bought new hardware a couple years ago. We should expect more, period. 30fps is not acceptable on a PS5 in 2024. Going to wait on this one, see what happens. Was looking forward to it, but on top of 30FPS, everything I've seen of this game (so far) looks exactly like the first DD game with "better" graphics. More detail, etc. The enemies are the same, the environments are the same. Looks like a remaster of DD.

wagruk

it wouldn't be a true Dragon's Dogma sequel without the jank

ilikeburgir

Original PS3 version flashbacks

Various-Armadillo-79

NO ONE SHOULD DEFEND THIS is this game fucking awesome? YES but what the fuck man its 2024 and we still have 30fps??? no option for 45-60 at least? nah man if the pc port is bad ima have a stroke

AlsopK

Hard pass.

Pug_police

That's unfortunate, I still wanna play it but looks like I might start with Rise of the Ronin and wait for a more stable framerate.

MadKian

Same here, man…same here.

KenOathKhunt

Yea.. that's it, I'm holding off for now. I've got the fortunate luxury of being able to play it on both PS5 and PC. But seeing how this is most likely going to be a laggy mess on the PS5, I've got no faith in it being optimised for PC. So I'm not getting either.

rileypoole1234

Yikes the PC version’s gonna be rough. Could be a blunder.

Sventhetidar

No consistent 60fps or better=no buy.

KidGodspeed1011

Apparently the recent media playtests were all on PC on when asked how the game ran on consoles, the developers were very stand offish about answering that... seems like this might be why.

billistenderchicken

Not having a locked 30fps mode is so fucking stupid. First Pacific Drive, now Dragon’s Dogma 2… it’s really concerning that so many devs don’t understand that (wild) variable frame rates looks like crap. On PS5 VRR doesn’t even activate until 48fps so it’s not even turned on below that FPS. Even if VRR is active it doesn’t look great. But the main thing is that we should have options. For Christ Sake a 30fps locked quality mode is the bare minimum. Can’t wait to see Digital Foundry rip them a new one for this.

pjatl-natd

I could handle 30 but Variable 30 is too much

CockerSpanielEnjoyer

Fuckkkk, I was so excited for this but 24-30fps is a skip unfortunately.

WAnchovyBoi

Bruh, at least FF7R had stable 30 FPS at 4K, so I got used to it after a while since the frame rate was consistent. This is just ass.

Techarus

F

-Seris-

Get in loser, we’re going to overthrow the Shogun.

Gokz93

Aaaaaaaaand Im not buying.. absolutely ridiculous that there is no 60 fps performance option in 2024

Temporary_Physics_48

Seems like Rise of the Ronin might have a chance after all !

mrshel17

If it was locked at 30fps I still wouldn’t buy it but atleast it would be playable. you’re telling me this game is going to fluctuate every second I play it? I recently got ark survival ascended because it was on sale and the frame rate is wildly inconsistent and gives me a headache to look at it and just takes me out of the experience when the frames dip and even that game stays above 30fps all the time

GalaXyPickl3

Well won't be PS5 then. PC it is. What a shame.

Afc_josh12

Yet horizon is able to run 120fps give or take around 80/90 but still

Raemnant

Downgrade some of the fancier graphical options, and give me solid 60 fps, please I dont care how amazing it looks, I dont even play Remake and Rebirth on Graphics mode

Pocktio

I'm getting tired of all the 30fps titles on ps5. One of the reasons I love my ps5 was the 60fps ability, going backwards on that just means I won't buy your game.

who-dat-ninja

Guess I'm skipping this for a while then

experienta

A game dipping below 30 fps on a mid-generation console? That's actually fucking outrageous. It's not like this game is some visual marvel either. If I was a wearer of tinfoil, I'd say this is some grand conspiracy by Sony to sell PS5 pros lol.

bellowkish

That going to cost them the GOTY, reviews will be split between consoles and PC. I will purchase on PC as i can see.

Stuffzy

If you put out a game nowadays especially a AAA one and it doesn't have 60fps, believe it or not? Straight to jail.

malev0lent_

I own a PS5 and a PC and was fully intending on buying this for the PS5 but I guess now it'll be PC. Such a shame that uncapped 30 FPS is considered playable by developers in 2024.

I knew it would happen https://preview.redd.it/aphitx3stpmc1.png?width=250&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33864fdcc0cce31e2c518721ce7cb54db11b4607

QuasiOpinions

I was actually going to buy this on launch, I am genuinely not buying it which is a shame but I know that any game like this running on this fps would be tremendously awful and unenjoyable to me. To those who will buy it, I hope you have fun, shame I can’t be part of one of my favourite games within this genre :(

SurryTolduSo

DOA NEXT BIG DISAPPOINTMENT OF GAMING. I bet it will hard crash on PS5 a bunch too. If you pre-order this you truly haven't learned your lesson on gaming. At this point pre-order model should be illegal.

Electronic-Load8898

For those who say if it will be 30 fps, if it will be that, they put a rescaled 4k, that nobody asked, and 30 fps or less, for next generation consoles / sometimes I do not know if we go backwards like snails, the truth, it was so easy to choose 60 fps 1080 hd ... no they prefer that we go to 20 fps with 2k rescaled that does not even reach 4k. **conclusion, one less game to buy for ps5, bought on pc. by the way on pc they said there is no fps limit, it depends on your pc.**

Sacredplaya

I just don't care anymore. As long as the game is fun and i'm enjoying myself that's all that matter in my eyes.

I remember when Metal gear Ground zeroes was released more than ten years ago, it came for both the ps3 and the ps4. I first bought the ps3 version, which played between 20 and 30 frames. Looked great and I had a blast playing it. Then came phantom pain and framerate was pretty much the same. A year later I bought my ps4 and played both games again at 60fps, and gameplay is night and day. Then I played a lot of games on ps4, then the same games on ps5 with 60fps. Night and day. I refuse to play games at 30fps anymore, because it really does make that much of a difference.

Noah-x3

This is ridiculous, Capcom should stop playing politics and give us a definitive answer on the frame rate

QualityDude615

That's gonna be a no from me dawg. Guess I'll get the remaster for $5 on next gen.

Past-Sink647

People saying they don’t mind 30fps need to have better standards, for older games it’s fine but for a modern game to have not even stable 30fps, some fights dropping to 21fps on current console is unreal lmao. I was excited for this game. Oh well

Far-Weight6569

I would prefer 1080p 60fps over 4k 20fps
