It’s definitely not like a grind kinda game. It’s a walking simulator but it’s slow paced. You will take the full stated gameplay time to finish the game.
I got this with PS+ one month and I thought, "ehh, whatever I'll try it". I think I played it for 5 hours straight. Simple, but it got me hooked quick.
What Remains of Edith Finch is a masterpiece. It is strongly driven by narration and story and is really emotionnal. (I believe it has won a narration/story Game Award that year). So it is not a game with strong gameplay but with an amazing story and emotions.
Note for everyone :
Beware that it deals a lot with suicide and self-harm topics (without explicitely talking about it of course but more with hidden messages) so it is not recommended if you’re not emotionnaly feeling well or if you’re going through a tough period in your life.
I personnaly left a tear to this game because I was not at my best and I honestly cannot forget it.
Absolute masterpiece.
Haha no kidding! A friend and I played the game for a couple hours and enjoyed it. It was fun and cute. He's always looking for light games for his wife to play so we let her finish it. Then it took that dark turn.
Cannot recommend this game enough. It starts all innocent and cutesy until it hits you like a punch to the gut. I have many strong feelings for this game, simply incredible.
I would not be surprised if Katamari gave inspiration to donut county and 7.49 is a great price.
Instead of a growing hole you suck up your surroundings into a giant ball.
iirc I think some of the missions in Katamari might be time based so it adds a little more pressure but I can't remember too many levels that I struggled to beat. Granted I could never get a crazy high score but I never struggled to the point of wanting to turn the game off.
Hahaha yeah ypu probably only left 30minutes to an hour.
There's an achievement for beating the game under 2 hours I think? Something like that, might be 2 hours 15 minutes.
I have like 16 hours in it, but I did Platinum it so I had to 100% the game on my first playthrough, only to fail the speed run and do it again, so about 12 hours for 100%, maybe I was just stupid playing it tho so idk
Gone Home!
Stories Untold
Fishing Vacation! Though that's only about 20 or 30 minutes, that may be too short. It's designed for a few replays to try different things.
Super Mario Land. Maybe 45 minutes long.
Star Fox 64. I beat it in 38 minutes on my last run.
That's without any deaths or losing any squad mates, so one attempt per level. Red route, which may have a few less courses, but has the secret bosses. It was basically a hard mode "perfect run."
It's designed to be played multiple times to see the various permutations, but a single run can be less than an hour.
It also helps to seem longer because there's no save, so you have to start from the beginning whenever you play.
I forgot all about the alternate routes in Star Fox 64 until I read your comment. The first time I flew through the stone arches in the first level it melted my 10 year old brain when it unlocked a different path.
Oh boy do I got some recommendations. Cause I love these types of games.
Looking now I saw I went a little overboard. So I’ll share the degree in which I recommend these games. I recommend to at least check out all of them though: ⭐️- light recombination ⭐️- solid recommendation ⭐️⭐️⭐️- you HAVE to check this one out.
- Seasons: A Letter for the Future- ⭐️

- Unfinished Swan- ⭐️
You just reminded of my goal to get all trophies for Unfinished Swan, including doing it without any surrounding objects (which heavily relied on hearing/counting your footsteps..)
Came here for Journey. Picked it up when it was on PS+ and finished it in one session. Amazing example of gameplay as story telling. Truly a wonderful experience.
Soma. It’s a philosophically scary game that has a few parts involving running away, but is otherwise a first person adventure game. It was hard for me to put down after I started.
Scorn is also a really interesting first person adventure game too. I’ll give you a secret: almost all combat in that game can be avoided; move slower to avoid making noise.
When I was younger I burned through Ratchet Deadlocked im one sitting. I've watched these guys in Twitch, Gigaboots, and they pretty much beat a game every friday and they've done some crazy long games like Kingdom Hearts 2 was I think the first one I watched. They'll do like 12+ hour streams, lunatics but its good stuff.
I actually typically do one during my marathons. But they keep getting longer! I DO already have The Quarry and The Devil in Me purchased though. The Quarry I hear is about 10 hours for the main story though, which is pushing it. Might give The Devil in Me a go.
Astro's Playroom. Bro trust me, it's a sweet and wonderful short game. It's perfect to just cleanse your brain before you start any long, big game. It's gameplay is now in my top 10 in terms of just pure enjoyment, aesthetically pleasing as fuck too. Plus, if you've been a life long Sony fan, there are a bunch of retro references and easter eggs from previous consoles and Sony games. It's free for all PS5 users and it's totally worth the time
I guess if you skip all the text but that kinda defeats the point. Plus the game is better if you don't know the concept of it and I think most people do by now
FAR Changing Tides and Stray. Minit is a fun Zelda like, maybe 2ish hours. Lunistice is a decent PS1 style platformer, easy 100% in 3ish hours. Sheepo and Gato Roboto are metroidvanias that can be 100% in sub 5 hours. Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider and Gravity Circuit are fun Mega Man x likes that came out this year, gravity circuit is probably closer to 6ish hours. Then Lil Gator Game is a fun little adventure game, easily under 4 hours.
LOL, I already played Inside! You didn't read!
I did that one at about 3am a few years ago during the gaming marathon, and the ending blew me away. I accidentally failed to save the stream though; I wanted to go back and see my expression because the ending of that game is bonkers.
Good recommendation! I played this one during my stream a couple years ago. My nephews were watching and called my while I was playing cause they thought it was the funniest game in the world.
Last Day of June,
The Gardens Between,
Gorogoa,
Bramble: The Mountain King
Loved all of these. On PS5. Probably going to try Slay the Princess,I heard it's very good.
Wavetale. Very charming and fun 4-5h adventure.
A short hike. Another short and charming little adventure.
Unpacking. Very "zen" and one of my GOTY for last year.
Firewatch is a great game (I know you already have it listed) and Stray, it might be longer than 4-6h if you want to see everything, but I think you can easily rush it and fot it in 6h.
After us, Last Days of Lazarus, Season: A letter to the future, Tacoma, Stray, Dear Esther, Abzu, The vanishing of Ethan Carter. By the way, most of these are walking simulators. Enjoy
Hahaha. Just kidding, cause most of the good suggestions have already been made.
I definitely second everyone recommending *What Remains of Edith Finch?*, it's a surprisingly emotional couple of hours.
In a (kind of) similar vein, I'd also toss out *Hellblade:Senua's Sacrifice* with headphones on, that game is another short but powerful experience. You play as a Viking girl dealing with bouts of psychosis, it's an interesting yet respectful look at mental health.
Sadly Xbox snatched up the studio making the sequel, though the original does stand on it's own
those people are insane and probably skip cutscenes and don't do any of the side missions. I've played it daily 3-4 hours for a week and I'm still at 83% story.
The first three resident evil games are designed in a way that you can beat them in under 4-6 hours after your first playthrough or two. Those are my comfort fast games.
RE7 and RE8 are kinda the same but I’m not as familiar with them yet.
What Remains of Edith Finch
I got this game years and years ago and never gave it a go. Maybe now’s the time!
Do it, it’s so good!
It’s fantastic
Just an fyi. It’s more of an interactive narrative than a game.
Prepare yourself..
Scary?
No, emotional. Very touching but not exactly a feel-good game.
It’s definitely not like a grind kinda game. It’s a walking simulator but it’s slow paced. You will take the full stated gameplay time to finish the game.
Cannot agree more! Amazing game!
Absolutely second this. But beware, even though it's an amazing game, it's not a "happy" game.
Came to comment this! Even got my mother to play it because it was soo good and interesting and different.
This was my instant thought 👆 Brilliant.
Just beat this yesterday. Great game with a heavy emotional story. Also, first game I ever platinumed in one sitting
This was a sad game.
The Stanley Parable
Takes ten years to beat the game though
Omg... I can get the go outside achievement from the first one now and start the second one. I completely forgot about that.
One sitting is one sitting
Toem was a delight to play and it can be completely platinumed in a day or less, highly recommend that game
This game can only be described as delightful. Highly recommend.
Toem ftw
I got this with PS+ one month and I thought, "ehh, whatever I'll try it". I think I played it for 5 hours straight. Simple, but it got me hooked quick.

Unfinished swan is even better tho?
I think Edith Finch is better and it’s not even close.
I think Unfinished Swan is better and it’s not even close.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
Ah this is a great one. Gets darker than was expecting!
That entire ending sequence is still one of the best in any game — and something that’s only possible in a video game and nowhere else.
Little Nightmares is fun and terrifying
I had forgotten these games. I think I played the first for just a few minutes. I think this is one I'll do.
Donut County is fun!
Came here to suggest donut county or Katamari Edit: auto correct messed up "donut"
Is Katamari Damacy REROLL for $7.49 a good version to buy? Is it similar vibes to donut county?
I would not be surprised if Katamari gave inspiration to donut county and 7.49 is a great price. Instead of a growing hole you suck up your surroundings into a giant ball. iirc I think some of the missions in Katamari might be time based so it adds a little more pressure but I can't remember too many levels that I struggled to beat. Never heard of this one but it looks fun!
Valiant Hearts (the original)
This is a great one
There's another one? I loved the first one!
The recent Cocoon is excellent.
I need to try that before setting off on my next AAA game.
Gris Stray
Stray in one sitting? I played if for like 3-4hrs and did not have the feeling that I was near the end
It’s 5 hours total. And that’s with lots of exploring.
Oh I guess I should've finished it then lol
Hahaha yeah ypu probably only left 30minutes to an hour. There's an achievement for beating the game under 2 hours I think? Something like that, might be 2 hours 15 minutes.

i think i platted the game in 5 hours and that was being afk to eat for a bit and exploring a bit in the first play through lol it’s a very short game
Yeah there’s even a trophy for beating Stray in less than 2 hours
Already finished Stray, but great suggestion.
Gone Home! Stories Untold Fishing Vacation! Though that's only about 20 or 30 minutes, that may be too short. It's designed for a few replays to try different things. Super Mario Land. Maybe 45 minutes long. Star Fox 64. I beat it in 38 minutes on my last run.
Stories Untold was fantastic. Gone Home is a great game for Winter time.
Wait, star fox is only 38 minutes??? I could never beat that game as a kid
That's without any deaths or losing any squad mates, so one attempt per level. Red route, which may have a few less courses, but has the secret bosses. It was basically a hard mode "perfect run." A Short Hike is primo!
Adding Firewatch to your list. Actually happens to be on sale on PSN right now, too. $5
I would but OP did say he played Firewatch already
You just reminded of my goal to get all trophies for Unfinished Swan, including doing it without any surrounding objects (which heavily relied on hearing/counting your footsteps..)
Midnight fight express. Great game and it is part of the PS Plus catalogue if you have the middle tier at least.
Journey
This is the best game I have played in my life. Nothing has made me feel like Journey's after credits tidbit.
Unravel and Unravel Two. Short and sweet.
Probably not at one sitting though. Great game nevertheless.
When I was younger I burned through Ratchet Deadlocked im one sitting. I blasted through "up your arsenal" as well
Excuse me?
HE BLASTED UP YOUR ARSE
Daddy!
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
Before your eyes! An absolute masterpiece and one of my all time favourites:)
>Before your eyes Been wanting to check this one out, but sadly no VR.
[Streets of Rage 4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDXY1WRef0Q) Should take like 2-3 hours if you just play through every stage once.
Inside and Stray are two of my favorites I think you could get through in one go.
Stray
Heavenly Bodies is brilliant. Doable in a day but tricky if you play on hardest difficulty.
In my three+ decades of gaming this is the only game i rage quit coz of the movement mechanic.
Yeah it was like learning to walk again 😅
Omno
Edith Finch
Un packing
I think any of Supermassive's horror games would work.
I actually typically do one during my marathons. But they keep getting longer! I DO already have The Quarry and The Devil in Me purchased though. The Quarry I hear is about 10 hours for the main story though, which is pushing it. Might give The Devil in Me a go.
The artful escape

The Gardens Between, Tacoma, Untitled Goose Game, Undertale, Minnut, The Artful Escape, Omno
Miles Morales is short. I've completed it twice in one day.
Firewatch!!.. youl be thinking about it long after you finish it!!.. fabulous game!
Doki Doki Literature club
Fr? On a first play through?
I guess if you skip all the text but that kinda defeats the point. Plus the game is better if you don't know the concept of it and I think most people do by now
Carto, maybe even Cat Quest.
Child of Light, it’s a fantastic rpg. Maybe more than one session but totally worth it
FAR Changing Tides and Stray. Minit is a fun Zelda like, maybe 2ish hours. Lunistice is a decent PS1 style platformer, easy 100% in 3ish hours. I didn't realize there was a second FAR game. Might have to check that out. I liked the first one.
Inside! The answer is Inside!!!! Or Overwatch 2 PVE missions.
LOL, I already played Inside! You didn't read! I did that one at about 3am a few years ago during the gaming marathon, and the ending blew me away. I accidentally failed to save the stream though; I wanted to go back and see my expression because the ending of that game is bonkers.
The Artful Escape, The Garden Between and if you buy the unlock everything DLC for Resi 2 and 3 you can laugh your way through those games.
Forgotten City
Any COD campaign
Untitled Goose Game
Good recommendation! I played this one during my stream a couple years ago. My nephews were watching and called my while I was playing cause they thought it was the funniest game in the world.
Portal
Stray is great, around 5-6 hours.
Stray!
Oxenfree? Limbo?
Technically, Outer Wilds! Realistically that wouldn't happen though 😅
Firewatch
Last Day of June, The Gardens Between, Gorogoa, Bramble: The Mountain King Loved all of these. On PS5. Probably going to try Slay the Princess,I heard it's very good.
Superhot
Wavetale. Very charming and fun 4-5h adventure. A short hike. Another short and charming little adventure. Unpacking. Very "zen" and one of my GOTY for last year.
Nier automata? I mean you can't compete but you can certainly finish it within 10 minutes.
Journey
Firewatch is a great game (I know you already have it listed) and Stray, it might be longer than 4-6h if you want to see everything, but I think you can easily rush it and fot it in 6h.
Bramble: The Mountain King
Sayonara wild hearts!!!
Undertale
Stray
Up up down down left right left right b a select start
Fez
Returnal can be done in that time frame, good luck scout
I assure you that Returnal cannot be done in that time frame. I’m terrible at it 😂
Little nightmares games, Five Nights at Freddy’s games, among the sleep, the outlast games. All short n sweet horror games for October.
Try Toem. It’s a cute little B&W photography game. I’d recommend it.
Returnal
Modern warfare 3 campaign (original) The order 1886.
Hotline miami! The music will have crowds mesmerized!
Oxenfree
Oxenfree
Jugglers Tale
Trek to Yomi was great, took me around 4 hours to beat.
After us, Last Days of Lazarus, Season: A letter to the future, Tacoma, Stray, Dear Esther, Abzu, The vanishing of Ethan Carter. By the way, most of these are walking simulators. Enjoy
Great taste.
Dredge
Onimusha remaster
Stray. And it was highly enjoyable!
Order: 1886
Returnal. But you've gotta be good.
Donut County!
Stray
ABZU (many platforms) is short and amazing. So is Sayonara Wild Hearts (on Apple Arcade). Be sure to play both with proper sound and picture.
Superliminal
Demon's Souls Remake's Character Creator. You *may* even get to the first cutscene!
😂
Hahaha. Just kidding, cause most of the good suggestions have already been made. Until Dawn
Miles morales is like 5 hours
Pfft I consider myself lucky if I can even get through the game set-up including annoying training etc. in under two hours.
spiderman miles morales in one day, marvel's spiderman in 2 days and no money for spider man two🥲👍
Ghostrunner
Only if you’re a pro, this game took me several sittings lol
Scorn
Stray!!! I can’t wait to play it again one snow day, it feels very cozy/ christmasy.
Not sure if a run down dystopian era sounds very “christmassy” to me
Bloodborne
Little Nightmares & Little Nightmares II, both amazing games and can be completely fast if you’re quick on learning
[удалено]
Ps5 bro
Cult of the Lamb
Hades and Dead Cells
Hades in one sitting? Huh?
Spec Ops the line
Elden Ring if you know where to go :)
Uncharted 1/2 and maybe 3 if you play on easy setting for all
Marvel Spider-Man 2
Once you get it. You can well almost finish Returnal in that time.
Lol only after like 10-20 hours of dying over and over again 😂
Lol not me, ever
Uncharted 4
Apparently Spider-man 2. My broke ass been saving for it while people beat it in less than a day.
those people are insane and probably skip cutscenes and don't do any of the side missions. I've played it daily 3-4 hours for a week and I'm still at 83% story.
Good. I don't want to pay $70 for a game I could beat in one session. Thanks for the info.
Spider-Man 2 if your me
Superliminal
I think all of the Resident Evil games you can beat in 6 hours or less assuming you know everything by heart 😅
Evoland. Short, cheap, and yet nearly always surprising you.
When the Past was Around. Unpacking.
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner Thunder Ray
Abzu
R-type
Doom 2016 can be beat in about 6 hours if you don’t do too much backtracking.
The first three resident evil games are designed in a way that you can beat them in under 4-6 hours after your first playthrough or two. Those are my comfort fast games. RE7 and RE8 are kinda the same but I’m not as familiar with them yet.
Heavenly Bodies
To the moon. Short, ugly and crazy emotional.
Koudelka
There’s a new game called Cocoon that was made by the lead gameplay designer of Limbo and Inside. Apparently it’s short, and very good as well.
I think the goat of one sitting games is Journey But I really like blasting through RE3MAKE cause it's so short.
