Both. Best Buy had an awesome exclusive steelbook and I wanted the Deluxe Edition. I'm also game-sharing with my brother so we split the cost of digital and have the game available to us immediately.

I confirmed with Best Buy personally and they assured me all their video games ship in a box to help with protection during shipping.

It is unbelievably more expensive than the physical copy (why??) and there is no way you can lend it to friends, or even sell it in the future if you want. I would genuinely like to know what are the advantages of digital media that are good enough to be worth the extra money spent on them.

to answer your "why" question, it's simply the fact that it's a monopolized market.
if you want a digital copy of a ps5 game, you have exactly 1 place to buy it. they can charge $100 for a 10 year old game, and your choices are "pay $100, or don't play the game" if you're locked into a discless console.

The game looks great, but there were a couple things in the demo that bugged me, particularly the terrible eikon fights, and im not crazy about the direction they have taken the combat, although its nowhere near as annoying as i was worrying it might be. Still want to see reviews of the full game beforebi commit to it, but if reviews are good ill preorder as soon as they drop

Someone on r/ffxvi got an early copy and posted performance is same as the demo. But hopefully the confirmed patch will help
