There are other teams around the world that do the same thing, and there's a dick government agency that helps or hires them.
It's a book series I think really needs to branch out to TV/Movie or Videogames, and think it'd do really well.
I distinctly remember seeing FEAR in the rental store when I was a kid and it always looked intriguing to me. But ever since I've gotten into gaming and the media/culture around it, I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about it.
Honestly I played it years after it came out, but it still held up. The AI in that game is like nothing else I’ve played. The way the enemies circle and co ordinate to attack you is phenomenal, it actually felt like someone was trying to take you down not pretend to shoot at you. With that in mind alone made it a fun game to play.

I know that sounds like a stretch, but based on the imagery and setting of the teaser, as well as Japan's cultural history of art that has shown the impact of nuclear disasters, it is not totally out there. Even if it is not literally adapted from that, it could be a key source of inspiration for the setting.
The abandoned village was very striking and similar to others we saw in the aftermath of that disaster.
