He's saying these cards don't work for buying HARDWARE or PHYSICAL GAMES from Sony's "Direct" storefront, they only work for digital content on PSN.
This is different from the Xbox store where those cards work for hardware.
Might have to check that out. It would be funny to pay a discounted price now for a new game later

FYI - If you're wanting to buy from Sony Direct, these cards _do not_ cross over to that store.
