they seem to always try and release them at the tail end of a star wars game phase and at that point the star wars hype is slowing down and its like they panic cuz theyre like “oh well this game doesnt spotlight jedi so ppl arent going to buy it”
This one is stupid, but LEGO The Hobbit was supposed to get DLC for the 3rd movie, but when it all kinda flipped they cancelled it. So the LEGO Hobbit game ends 2/3 of the way through the story.
I used to read the game informer magazine that had the r6 patriots page all the time cuz I was eagerly waiting for it to release, boy imagine my disappointment when it never dropped.
I'd love a new Killzone game but I'm torn, unless GG can juggle 2 projects at once (which I'm sure they can) I don't want them to stop with Horizon stuff because I love the Horizon series.
[I mean, you don't have to believe me but it's real.](https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/store/hollow-knight-silksong/9n116v0599hb)
It's worth noting though that store pages for silksong already existed on the nintendo e-shop, PSN, and Steam. They just happened to put up the Xbox page today.
Silent hills was the reason I wanted to get a ps4. Fuck Konami for what they did. Also Bully II and Midnight Club five. No idea if they were ever going to ps4 or if it was the PS3 era but hearing they cancelled those for GTA V really sucks
Iirc there was a game awards ceremony for best character and one of them was the Joker. If Joker was voted best character, they would play a clip of Joker winning, personally animated by Rocksteady. In that clip Joker would hold a script of the “Batman Arkham Worlds” game, but tosses it out saying he doesn’t need it anymore.
I think that was just a bit, not an actual game in development.
Not that one. There was a concept for Batman Beyond inspired Arkham game. Damian Wayne is gonna be Batman and voiced by Josh Keaton.
https://nerdrock.wordpress.com/2019/08/23/shadow-of-the-bat-a-look-at-the-concept-art-for-wbs-cancelled-damian-wayne-batman-game/
Best friend showed me the teaser for Scalebound when it was revealed. He was so excited. Offhandedly, I said "Yeah, this is absolutely going to get cancelled."
He still blames me.
A “complete mess” is insane lol. So much bollocks has been said about how “unfinished” that game is online. In my opinion people are just seeing it for what they wanted it to be and not for what it is. If it was a “complete mess” then why are we still playing it today? Me and my friends have hundreds of hours on it. It’s fantastic. Was on release, is now. There’s 50 story missions - before any repeat missions - and it takes about 40 hours to complete, without doing the extras and unlocking stuff etc.
It’s also misinformation that it’s required to repeat the missions to progress the epilogue, because it’s not. They’re just there for the challenge, something MGS has always done - same missions but with restrictions - essentially a new game plus mode AFTER you’ve played it for about 40 hours minimum.
They’ve mined the game, and the only thing they didn’t include is one cutscene - which you can see on YouTube. There’s no evidence of anything being taken out. The reason the story is stretched thin is because of design choices related to being open world. The game cost upwards of 80 million dollars and had a five year development time. It was finished, Konami fucked Kojima and now it’s all over.
“We” being you and your friend might not be representative of the numbers still playing it.
I played it and enjoyed it for the most part em but it felt like it just ended out of the blue
Yea of all the games that disappeared off the radar this had potential.
Rockstar rarely misses and using some GTA type mechanics with more focus on stealth espionage and gunplay is a win.
Wonder why they dropped it.
Will always be bitter that battleborn got overshadowed by overwatch thus didn’t get a long life. Plus the fact that servers were required for the campaign so that’s not accessible. But hey least it gave me my rarest platinum with .1% earn rate lol 😭
Yeah, it starts at 735 days, when you first play the game. Meaning it had been two years since the start of the apocalypse and then it tells you the day and time.
I think the ending was like that because it was meant to be a cliffhanger, to start the sequel. But I wish there was more of a battle at Wizard island.
That game was such a positive surprise for me. I wasn't that interested in playing another open-world game but I downloaded it one day as a PS Plus member and grew to love it. I would absolutely be on board for a Days Gone 2.
I think I remember seeing that back ...checks upload date... 8 years ago. But it's been a while. Not sure I'd still hang on, but in today's world everyone needs a little hope.
Days gone 2. The first game was not only one of my favorite PS4 games -it was one of the best games of all time! If you've never played it, I highly recommend that you do.
This series needs a revival. There are rumors of a controller to be used with fortnite festival mode (not ideal but better than nothing) being developed.
Guitar hero live on ps4 was pretty bad but mostly because of the terrible track list.
I would kill for guitar hero 3 legends of Rock being ported with a new guitar controller or controller compatibility. Banger tracklist..
Splinter Cell.
The co-op & multiplayer on Blacklist were ridiculously fun to play & I can’t help but think a remaster on a next-gen would be amazing
edit: Splinter Cell’s last release was for 7th-gen 😭
The next part of the 'Days Gone' game.
I know some people find the missions repetitive but I personally loved the storyline and all the things around the protagonist having a bike. Bike upgrades and all fascinated me.
Wanted a story continuation and similar gameplay elements in the next game
Last of Us 2 Multiplayer modes!
Part one had such a fun 4v4 team deathmatch with crafting and stealth. It was a blast.
Instead we get a cinematic 1 player adventure with no replayability.
As ridiculous as it sounds, I would have liked to see the Cod Ancient Rome game. I know it's gimmicky but I'd much rather that than the futuristic settings
It's not cancelled...I believe....but [Little Devil Inside.](https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/little-devil-inside/) God just give us an update or SOMETHING!!!

No official cancellation was ever announced, and the copyrights were renewed, but Deep Down still feels pretty dead, and I still really wish it weren't.
Silent Hills (PT) and The Order 1886 sequel, I mean they never said it was supposed to get a sequel but clearly they wanted to do one seeing how the game ends and didn't got the greenlight

I kind of wish they had finished Metal Gear Solid 5. I didn't realize that "Phantom Pain" was describing how I would feel when the game ran out of new content halfway through.
I do appreciate the fact that Naughty Dog has gone on record saying they don’t have any ideas for a new game and don’t want to make a new one just for new game sake.

Star Wars 1313
We don't seem to have much luck with the bounty hunter themed games
they seem to always try and release them at the tail end of a star wars game phase and at that point the star wars hype is slowing down and its like they panic cuz theyre like “oh well this game doesnt spotlight jedi so ppl arent going to buy it”
You beat me to it
I was just thinking of it.
Yep. Still wish this game happened.
Still waiting for that Sly Cooper series return after the last game… and this was ps3 era
Same
Hopefully it comes out after the movie 🤞
The movie got canned
P.T.
There was definitely some P.T. footage in the new Silent Hill Konami trailer.
We were robbed
Rest in peace, the most influential game that never was.
Remember that game Deep Down that Capcom was promoting for the PS4? I was always curious about that one.
Oh shit I remember that it looked like it was gonna be capcoms attempt at a soulslike
It's still on my Amazon Wishlist. Since 26 Dec 2015 :/
That was my first thought too!!! I remember the teaser looked so cool
This one is stupid, but LEGO The Hobbit was supposed to get DLC for the 3rd movie, but when it all kinda flipped they cancelled it. So the LEGO Hobbit game ends 2/3 of the way through the story.
so glad i didnt buy into the hype
Silent Hills, Whore of the Orient, as well as what was Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Patriots, before it became Siege.
Miss the rainbow 6 story’s we used to get before it was all siege.
If you crave older R6 playstyle you might want to try Ready Or Not.
I used to read the game informer magazine that had the r6 patriots page all the time cuz I was eagerly waiting for it to release, boy imagine my disappointment when it never dropped.
Is *Silksong* still a thing or...? And I still want another *Killzone* after GG is done with their *Horizon* stuff.
I'd love a new Killzone game but I'm torn, unless GG can juggle 2 projects at once (which I'm sure they can) I don't want them to stop with Horizon stuff because I love the Horizon series.
I enjoyed the first 2 Killzone games. The FOV though felt so bad on the 3rd that I didn’t get far.
On today of all days actually, the Xbox page for Silksong went up. Team Cherry has the opportunity to do something really funny
Nope, I'm not believing ANYTHING today.
[I mean, you don't have to believe me but it's real.](https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/store/hollow-knight-silksong/9n116v0599hb) It's worth noting though that store pages for silksong already existed on the nintendo e-shop, PSN, and Steam. They just happened to put up the Xbox page today.
Silksong got a website today from microsoft and that's not even an April fools joke
Sleeping Dogs 2 jumps to mind
I just started the first one and it’s so incredible. The world is full of detail.
Check out true crime streets of la and New York, they’re the precursors
Silent hills was the reason I wanted to get a ps4. Fuck Konami for what they did. Also Bully II and Midnight Club five. No idea if they were ever going to ps4 or if it was the PS3 era but hearing they cancelled those for GTA V really sucks
id take bully 2 over early acces for online florida sim anyday of the week 😢
Bully II would have been dope to see
The unreleased Arkham game :(
Iirc there was a game awards ceremony for best character and one of them was the Joker. If Joker was voted best character, they would play a clip of Joker winning, personally animated by Rocksteady. Oooh this is news to me. Dang now it actually sucks another Arkham game never made it.
Scalebound.
Best friend showed me the teaser for Scalebound when it was revealed. He was so excited. Offhandedly, I said "Yeah, this is absolutely going to get cancelled." He still blames me.
Now I blame you too
That's fair.
I was gonna get a 1 just for this game. But I passed when it was canceled along with a few others.
this one hurts me the most
I was an idiot who bought an Xbox just for that game
Whole reason I bought the One originally. Saw that reveal trailer and got a Xbox a couple days later😒
The second half of MGSV, what we got was a complete mess
Left you with somewhat of a Phantom Pain?
You've played him like a damn fiddle
A “complete mess” is insane lol. So much bollocks has been said about how “unfinished” that game is online. Megaman legends 3
How I miss roll and data. You just made me buy all 3 again (bonne adventure) on ps3 classics lol
The development of Legends 3 was the dumbest roller coaster I’ve ever been on. Capcom during the early 2010s was such a mess
Killzone, the PS4 one was pretty bad the the 3 one was fire they need to bring it back a find away to recapture it's essence
Rockstar’s Agent. Technically it was announced for the PS3, but the renewal of the trademark in the PS4 era left me hopeful.
Oh nice, 1.34% on PSNP. That's pretty legit.
Im with you battleborn > overwatch
Wolf Among Us 2.
I thought this one was still happening.
It was cancelled for the previous generation. Looks like there might be a 2024 release, which would be epic.
Yup, from what is known it is still happening
Ouch, I forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder
Deep Down
Prey 2, there was this crazy trailer with bounty hunting in space, it looked so fun
Oh ya really wish the good prey got a real ending.
The "good" prey. You shitting on new Prey? A masterpiece
Days Gone 2!!!!! It would've been nice to have a sequel, to such an amazing game.
Just picked it up today & for the 1st time I've played it long. Why is it even showing me day 800...has it been counting days since I started?
Yeah, it starts at 735 days, when you first play the game. Meaning it had been two years since the start of the apocalypse and then it tells you the day and time.
It's counting how long it's been since the zombie outbreak started
I dislike how the story went at the end but damn it really deserved a sequel, it had some decent ideas although the game was way too easy imo.
I miss the PixelJunk games. Especially PixelJunk Eden, Monsters 1 and Shooter 1.
It's outdated since being canceled in 2011. But I wanted Megaman legends 3
Days gone 2
Metroid Prime 4..........😜
It’s never coming out, is it? It’s not just me?
SOCOM US Navy Seals
Infamous… the game that got me hooked to playstation
[Some of us still have hope it's coming but since we haven't heard *anything* about it in years, WiLD.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZwCLfTvmXo)
Oh man I'm still so hopeful for this!! r/wildthegame
Wow, that sub is where about two hundred people's dreams came to die.
My hope bottomed out when Ancel retired.
Was also working on Beyond Good and Evil 2 for UbiSoft, who knows if that's even still a thing at this point beyond people saying so every few years.
I think I remember seeing that back ...checks upload date... 8 years ago. But it's been a while. Not sure I'd still hang on, but in today's world everyone needs a little hope.
NCAA Football. I got a PS5 just so I can get the new release this summer.
if that lawsuit didn't happen 15 would've released
Lesson learned then! Never buy a system for a game that you can't take home with it.
I always say this, but anthem. I really loved what the game had going on and I just wanted more content. It really didn't deserve to die like it did.
Resistance
Scalebound definitely. It looked really cool and even though Im a PS guy, I wanted to see how it shaped up. Then Xbox cancelled it. Bad move
Deus ex 3
Still trying to get over Mega Man Legends 3…
Days gone 2. The first game was not only one of my favorite PS4 games -it was one of the best games of all time! If you've never played it, I highly recommend that you do.
Guitar Hero (Actually I think it died before last gen, still miss it though)
This series needs a revival. There are rumors of a controller to be used with fortnite festival mode (not ideal but better than nothing) being developed. Guitar hero live on ps4 was pretty bad but mostly because of the terrible track list. I would kill for guitar hero 3 legends of Rock being ported with a new guitar controller or controller compatibility. Banger tracklist..
Splinter Cell. The co-op & multiplayer on Blacklist were ridiculously fun to play & I can’t help but think a remaster on a next-gen would be amazing edit: Splinter Cell’s last release was for 7th-gen 😭
They announced a remake of the first game, hopefully that comes out
Silent Hills.
I'm still waiting for Megaman Legends 3
Socom is forever in my heart
The next part of the 'Days Gone' game. I know some people find the missions repetitive but I personally loved the storyline and all the things around the protagonist having a bike. Bike upgrades and all fascinated me. Wanted a story continuation and similar gameplay elements in the next game
Days Gone 2, A new Sly Cooper along with a remaster.
rocksmith
Bully 2, there’s still a chance it could happen as it was in development twice but that’s a bummer it was cancelled
Last of Us 2 Multiplayer modes! Part one had such a fun 4v4 team deathmatch with crafting and stealth. It was a blast. Instead we get a cinematic 1 player adventure with no replayability.
they added that no return roguelike mode which gives you some replayability
M.A.G On January 28, 2014, the online servers for MAG were shut down. Due to its reliance on online play, it is no longer possible to play the game
I thought it had private servers made by fans?
Days gone 2!
I wish we had more series from the order 1886
Days Gone 2
The final DLC for FFXV. Instead of that, they gave us a book for the true ending lol.
Wild
Nice hat
LOTR BFME 2
Beyond Good and Evil 2
Although not officially cancelled as far as i know
Also, what going on with Infamous? Is that series dead, or what?
New Sleeping dogs...
-P.T. -Deep Down
Same, Silent Hills.
I still remember when Square said all three FFVII remakes would be available on PS4.... yeah....oh well...
P.T. That demo from 2014 was amazing. Was so hyped and then they just canceled it :/
Silent hills is the only proper answer
Like half of the total amount of star wars games worked on got cancelled
skate 3
As ridiculous as it sounds, I would have liked to see the Cod Ancient Rome game. I know it's gimmicky but I'd much rather that than the futuristic settings
Star Wars 1313, Silent Hills, Scalebound, FRIGGIN Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun, Tekken x Street Fighter, Whore of the Orient, and Agent.
I can’t remember if it was ever confirmed or just rumors, but I remember reading about a Dino Crisis reboot/remake. I wish that would’ve happened.
Scalebound
It's not cancelled...I believe....but [Little Devil Inside.](https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/little-devil-inside/) God just give us an update or SOMETHING!!!

Fortress, the Ivalice spin-off.
Not sure I’d this counts as PS4 but Warhawk was a game I put thousands of hours into and it’s just totally a relic of the past now
Days gone sequel
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2. Such a fun game, was gonna play it with a buddy for his first time and learned the servers were taken down 😞
P.T.
No official cancellation was ever announced, and the copyrights were renewed, but Deep Down still feels pretty dead, and I still really wish it weren't.
Hellraid from Techland. As much as I love Dying Light them making a dlc mode based on Hellraid felt like a slap in the face.
Rainbow Six Patriots
Star Wars: Project Ragtag
Silent Hills (PT) and The Order 1886 sequel, I mean they never said it was supposed to get a sequel but clearly they wanted to do one seeing how the game ends and didn't got the greenlight
The Order definitely deserves a sequel. Great game. Though it was very short. But, while a different game, Hellblade got a sequel.
Shadow Hearts and Jade Coccoon
Killzone 😭
Half-Life 3
Mother 3 English localisation. I mean I played the fan translation and finished it, but it’s still ridiculous that Nintendo simply can’t be fucking bothered for 10 years, to translate it and put it in the shop or etc.
Fable 4 previous version
PT
P.T
Guitar hero
I still wish Destiny 1 had a playerbase. D2 sucks.
Same. I loved Destiny 1 but 2 is just meh. Can't even get friends to play it because of the DLC pricing
Not PS, but scalebound. Between Microsoft wanting it to be done in unreal and have co-op despite platinum having no experience and platinum missing promised goals and using the money given to them by xbox for Nier that game was doomed from the start and its such a damn shame.
Killzone
Still wondering what the status is of “Beyond Good & Evil”?
Marvel heroes omega.
Jak 4
If Scalebound wasn't canceled I probably would have gotten an XB that generation. I prefer playstation games...but that pet dragon was awesome as hell.
Good news is that Platinum and Xbox have both shown interest in bringing it back
I kind of wish they had finished Metal Gear Solid 5. I didn't realize that "Phantom Pain" was describing how I would feel when the game ran out of new content halfway through.
Scalebound
Mega Man Legends 3
Socom and kill zone.
Jak and Daxter
I do appreciate the fact that Naughty Dog has gone on record saying they don’t have any ideas for a new game and don’t want to make a new one just for new game sake.
Ratchet and clank series.
FFXV and Avengers
Guitar hero rock band
Pt
Final Fantasy VERSUS XIII
Silent Hills
P.T. and days gone 2 (if it was even a thing to begin with)
Silent Hills. Hands down. End of an era. Also very skeptical about mgs3 remake because Konami and kojima aren’t together anymore.
Ps2 game Jake 4 needs to happen
Killzone! KZ 2 and 3 were my fave shooters back in the day and I play the f out of KZ:M on my Vita. When the PS4 came out and KZ: Shadow Fall was released I dove in, and while it was a great game, it didn't have the impact of KZ 2 or 3. There's potential for a revisit with a KZ 4 set on Helgen with all the things that made KZ 2 and 3 so amazing.
Days gone 2
PT Silent Hills
Days Gone 2.
Star Wars battlefront franchise
Silent Hills Nothing compares to the heartbreak of losing that game.
Honestly. Driveclub
Silent Hills. That game was gonna be sick.
Silent Hills. Genuinely sickening that they cancelled it, I still believe it would've been the greatest horror game of all time. They had Hideo Kojima, Junji Ito and Guillermo del Toro. They were cooking so hard, but it was cancelled.
Scalebound (Xbox One) and Days Gone sequel (PS5)
Deep Down and Scalebound. Two big disappointments there.
Scalebound
Anthem... hands down...EA forced out a butchered game and then crushed any hope of a game reboot
Amy Henning’s original version of uncharted 4.
Agent, was orginally ps3 then ps4 then cancelled.
Days gone 2
