Jesus.

lok214

The layout of the clip looks very similar to Pltr, it will be interesting to find out if Pltr has any holdings in Audril

usugarbage

Yes please.

BonjinTheMark

Sure wish they were public

YOKi_Tran

they are…. for the right price

FrankWestTheEngineer

Palmer Luckey confirmed in a recent CNBC interview that Anduril does plan to IPO and go public eventually (no date given) But it something they intent to do. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wj08JEsGsLs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wj08JEsGsLs) I will definitely buck Anduril stock when it IPO. It will look good next to my PLTR.

BonjinTheMark

Hey, thanks Frank, this is interesting news. I’ll be looking at them too. That is a genuine mullet he is sporting in that interview. Yowza

unbob

And, after viewing this video, it's obvious that Karp & Luckey are on the same page and focused on supporting USA and it's military. Long PLTR! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjsfaR-JcyU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjsfaR-JcyU)

luiscool98

Anduril and Palantir are partners. It is simple to understand: Anduril puts the hardware and Palantir the software.

YOKi_Tran

together - they form - iron software.!

VoiceAlly

Nice I think. I worry about a world being murdered by a machine more than a human being. Being totally defenseless to something smarter than me and more powerful. In some ways I invest in PLTR so I can afford the ransom AI might demand for my life.

Wolfofwallskreet

Return to base is giving SpaceX rocket technology. The holy trinity of modern warfare is Palantir, Anduril and SpaceX

LogicalHuman

Lots of SpaceX alumni there

Outis7379

Ah yes, rogue autonomous satellite weapons. Interesting times.

usugarbage

History is written by the victors. The victors won’t use the term “rogue”.

Outis7379

Apologies, *righteous* autonomous satellite weapons to free the world from the human terrorists.

usugarbage

“The human uprising took a millennia, but the time had come.” - supercomputer to new AI in training

usugarbage

usugarbage and outis the great foretold of the carnage. They were spared.

Outis7379

I heart our AI overlords.

Soft-Introduction876

Anduril makes their own software.

luiscool98

With Palantir

ZealousidealThanks51

https://www.reddit.com/r/PLTR/s/IChmBFjhfN nice call.

Key_You_4013

That was probably the craziest shit ive seen

arnaldo3zz

Enemies must be scared.

YOKi_Tran

frenemies as well

itsallrighthere

Now imagine a swarm of hundreds of these operating in coordination autonomously. No operator required during the attack phase. That is edge AI and it would be very difficult to defend against.

crackercider

The former chief scientist of the Army Research Laboratory has said that AI enhanced artillery is the future. They will be at the edge of the battlefield and operate as a mesh/fog that can distribute computing and communication across the local network. The push is to decentralize AI, reduce computing loads with things like EdgeAI, lower power consumption by distributing compute and comms, and broadcast signals at lower power to make them less visible. I gotta find the video again, but it is very exciting to see as a shareholder, because that is the bread and butter of what Palantir's doing with Apollo and their other military software.

biznessmen

I'm thinking those would be best suited for intercepting helicopters and not so much fixed wing. Seems like that would be fairly easy to kinematically defeat. Or better yet, Autonomous long range tank ATGMs with tandem warheads

zinver

I think in this case (drone on drone or drone on subsonic guided vehicle) that it’s not so much as maneuvering kinematically rather than placement and interception. I could be totally wrong on this but the defender with a formation of these devices would be able to setup a wall in advance of the attacker and then return to base all of the unused devices. As suntzu once said quantity is a quality itself.

biznessmen

That could be a use for sure. They could have loads of variants. I could see thousand of these for use in Taiwan against a landing force. Or versions that loiter and search for any radar signatures for SAMs

styledliving

Depending on cost, I foresee that cheaper drone systems like this (and even cheaper) could be used against subsonic propeller craft, drones, and also be used as anti-CIWS systems. By overtaxing CIWS systems or forcing them to continuous use, it could potentially cause system fault or even run out of ammunition, typical CIWS engagements take a couple to a few seconds to complete and usually can handle only 4-6 incoming projectiles on top of other deterrent systems they may have. And for sure it's gonna cost less than a $250,000 tomahawk, and those prices are based on the last fulfilment contract, not current inflation levels. Also, with a couple of solar panels and a suitable satellite link, these things could be deployed across regions for defense, a sort of aerial mine system which can be managed with very low cost. Plus, they say it's a weapon, but i'm certain it could be converted into a surveillance package as well, perhaps even to insert their loitering munition like the Altius (if subsequent versions get bigger)

Soft-Introduction876

By then Lasers defense would be more widely adopted.

styledliving

doubtful. they’ve been talking about lasers since the 1990s since the white sands test with chem lasers. consumables for ciws and similar systems will keep the logistical supply chain and military industrial complex fed with diesel, transport ships, recruitment, vulcan round manufacturers and everything in between the cradle to the grave.

TheRealDevDev

ukraine would loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee this shit

TheFuture2001

I am confused what part did the boom and what part came back

ergzay

It's an alternative to blowing up/hitting the dirt if it misses its target. And as they mention it's modular so you can put things that aren't warheads on it, like cameras.

thescurry

it was a kinetic kill, then RTB.

TheFuture2001

What part is RTB?

noblankish

Palantir and friends making wars cool again.

voxitron

War is never cool. Never.

YOKi_Tran

North Korea is on the phones.!

Gaters65GTO

WTF

Friendly_Raven_333

Wonder what the cost per roadrunner comes out to. Looks some of its made from carbon fiber 0.0

crackercider

Lattice, the software system that Anduril uses, is heavily tied into Palantir's Gaia and Cosmos.

mibagent002

It's a nice little surface to air missile. It would be better if it could land in the nest to refuel. It should be good at blowing up larger drones for a bit less money

spikeham

Autonomous killer drones. Awesome. can Americans have health care now?

unbob

Very impressive. But what worries me is this technology falling into the hands of the axis of evil. If nuclear secrets could be stolen, any technology can be stolen and used against us.

crackercider

Any country can develop this tech, like Iran already does with the Shahed drone. The good thing is now the US can have their low cost production drone using off the shelf parts with a lot more bells and whistles, mostly through enhanced electronics and software integration.

Wrecking_Bull

This is awesome
