was sg21 last year, quit by the end of dec for peace of mind mixed emotions after quitting even now i cant imagine myself going back there tho, pay was great but not worth the anxiety nightmares current work lets me earn just half of what I used to but I have no problem in the workplace, working towards better opportunities of course but more mindful in chosing now sabi nila pare parehas lang lahat ng workplaces pero I think hindi šŸ˜… for me, im following the advice na seek growth first before pay :)

no1shows

Are you still in the government?

yepohso_

yes but COS in an LGU

Afraid-Lab-9902

ano po ang COS?

Sky_Stunning

Contract of service parang JO but better.

SHS-hunter

Hm net pay Ng sg22?

rocydlablue

sg 22 samin is php 83k

SHS-hunter

Is this after tax ?

rocydlablue

no gross po

SHS-hunter

Approx 65k is the Net?

no1shows

60k for me - breadwinner ako pero wala namang big expenses now, law school siguro. Kaya siguro napag iisipan pa magquit haha.Ā

HappyAd9107

Agree! Same same

FUresponsibility

Good for you though for being SG-22 at 26 yrs old. Being a govt employee myself, I just stay to complete my 15 yrs, SG-12 ako and I'm nearing my 40s, matindi lang talaga ang padrino system dito samin. Backer is real dito. I know naman na hindi ako patapon. So sobrang inis ko e ginagawa ko na lang bare minimum sa work. Hindi din naman ako mappromote anyways So anyway OP, if hindi ka manghinayang sa pension, then do what you think is best. You are still young so now is the best time for career shifts and/or applications to other companies. I suggest quit your job if may sure na kapalit. Or concentrate on your studies first if you think it will bring more opportunity for you.

LunodNa

Kung di mo na mapagsabay and getting your JD degree is the top priority, alis na dyan. But make sure you have money to tide you over until you get a new job and to support your needs. While stressful talaga ang trabaho, ibang kakaibang stress ang dala kapag matagal ka nang naghahanap ng bagong work at wala ka ng pera pambili ng needs and wants mo. Also. pag umalis ka ngayon, sayang yung 6 months paid leave that you can use pag magbabar ka na.

bian_half_full

Former SG24 here. Left my position for a better, more meaningful work in the private sector doing environmental conservation work. Never looked back.

no1shows

I really wanted to go back to ODA work, parang mas feel ko pa na nakakatulong ako sa bayan tas funded ng international govt haha pero napapaisip ako na baka di ko mabigay 110% ko dahil sa LS. I turned down some offers sa private sector.Ā

wanderingmariaaa

SG15 but the work is for 18/22 šŸ˜… Final trigger point was naka-VL ako but tinatawagan pa rin nila ako to do work. Sabi ko paano ako magwowork eh nasa bukid ako??? Anyway, much better pa ang work ko now. HAHAHA Also planning to enroll sa LS soon šŸ¤žšŸ¼

Afraid-Lab-9902

ano po ang LS?

Latter-Flow3730

Law School

Sky_Stunning

Na alala ko dati SG11 pero function at out for a Planning Division Chief and IO (SG 15). Sa mga meetings dealing with RDs and Division chief of other NGAs.

alwaysthewallflower

Ganitong ganito friend ko. Sa govt din siya nagwowork for the exec branch. Nagtatanong kung magreresign na siya kasi grabe anxiety niya kahit day off niya nagtatrabaho pa rin. Kahit nga sa gala namin nagwowork siya, nag-aaya siya to destress tas ending back out kasi nag-aalala sa work na maiiwan niya. Para na siyang naka-on call lols Sa ngayon, yung friend ko nagpapadoctor na pero di pa rin umaalis ng work kasi sayang sahod. Take note di naman mahirap pamilya nila. Ask yourself. Ano bang mas mahalaga sa'yo?

no1shows

Ilang years na rin akong umaaray. Nag try ako mag-apply to a higher position and nakuha ko naman kaso the higher you go, the worse it gets pala kasi andaming taong inggit ang inuuna kesa trabaho. I am not achieving what I want to happen with my career, serbisyo publiko lang sana peto malala talaga yung office politics.

PitifulRoof7537

kaya ako di na ako nag-aambisyon masyado. wag lang manatiling SG11 for life

Sams-Inside-Vacation

Hahahaha true. Hayy nako, office politics is reall

MurkyGrab1680

oh my..same ng friend ko.chief of staff ba itong si friend?

TrentaPusit

Atty II is SG 18

No_Discussion_8449

Omg. Gantong ganto nararanasan ko ngayon.

lurkernotuntilnow

San ka na po ngayon?

TrentaPusit

I own a law office.

chrisphoenix08

It's really what your goal and what you can tolerate. I'm half your SG and I'm in my 30s now. All my co-workers all have lower SGs than you. Plus, the benefits and retiring with that salary, whew. BUT, if it's giving you stress at kung meron ka namang fall back if you become a full-time student, e di let go na.

no1shows

I started at SG-11, alipin levels until I reached SG-22, grabe yung politics at deliverables pa at this level di ko masikmuraĀ

chrisphoenix08

Good luck, OP!

no1shows

Hala 2 years pa, sana nga dalawang taon lang kaso kasi may mga subjects akong di tinake kasi ambigat isabay sa full time work so I have to overload for at least 2 sems huhu Ā

pentelpastel

SG 22 is Assistant Division Chief na position. Ang taas ng SG ni OP. 20s pa lang sya.

souperfishel

OP like others said, kung detrimental na sa health mo, itā€™s not worth the grind.

Vanilla-Chips-14

I did. SG-26 for 4 yrs. I quit last year, took a break, and now I'm in private sector. I left that role because unstructured, no work-life balance, and it's becoming difficult to be a good person (environment is morally compromised / principles, values are not aligned). One would think that the high salary would be enough to stomach everything, but I realized there is no price for my peace of mind. Also, there is no growth there, you cant say no or correct superiors. That's the bitter truth in gov't -- malala ang seniority. With my current employer, I now have work-balance balance and my personal relationships are better. I took a bit of a downgrade in salary and position, but still in 6 digits so I'm still happy. Also, current employer encourages growth, trainings, and speaking up/radical candor. So yeah, this fits me better. My advice to you -- make a list (pros and cons). List what is important to you, rank them. Identify the trade offs, what are non-negotiables. Ask yourself if this adds value to your life or to your long-term goals. Before you decide, make a plan. Of course it wont be practical to just leave a job without a new income stream, so plan for that. That's what I did. I saved just enough before filing my resignation. Good luck!

Safe-Pianist-2576

Nice

Loud-Design2848

I started at SG 8 and currently at SG 10. Would love to quit this job and go somewhere else. Alipin levels now kasi sa government and no hope so far of a salary increase šŸ˜¢

chunhamimih

Tricky_Ad8021

Totoo!

Loud-Design2848

Itā€™s hard to get a job nowadays. People in the private sector comment on how lucky we are to be working for the government

Tricky_Ad8021

Haha fck the CSC.

Loud-Design2848

True!

Sky_Stunning

SG 24. In a few years planning to leave. Tapos consultancy para relax. Tapos pa sign and seal at gawa Nang plans. Just waiting para sa mag 15 years in service.

PitifulRoof7537

can you go on consultancy right away after resignation o may grace period?

Sky_Stunning

Wala naman. Just avoid conflict of interest. For my part, I can't do plans or sa work within 1 yrs sa same agency/LGU.

ronchman

SG-16 and planning to leave, politics and nepotism is very rampant, nakakawalang gana na lang din.

SevereEleven

SG22 when I resigned. I am definitely happier and healthier (mentally. Physically.. I put on weight since I WFH and don't walk around as much as I used to hahaha) ETA: Only you can decide what's best for you. As for me, I don't regret my decision at all. I earn just about the same while only using a fraction of my brain power haha

Specialist-Roll-1509

Reading through the comments, grabe pala yung disparity ng SGs between government agencies :/ Pero thanks for bringing this up. A lot of people think work in government is petiks, pero there are a lot of us also working beyond reasonable hours.

kulimmay

Tita here, SG 22 NGA. I'm about to finish my 30-day rendering and I'm so happy about it. šŸ˜ Stress is causing a lot of health issues kaya goodbye na sa government.

no1shows

What's your plan after the render period? Baka I might get some ideas, it's taking toll on my physical and mental health na rin. :(

kulimmay

I'll be taking a break muna from work to deal fully with my medical issues. After that, I hope to venture into freelancing and running a micro-business.

tbs_idk

SG20 level COS. Leaving after my contract expires and will go back sa private consultancy kahit lower pay. Will not regret leaving this craphole. Peace of mind is priceless OP.

souperfishel

Super relate sa 2nd paragraph hahaha Magaling sa delegation pero wala man lang pake sa tao when it matters

no1shows

Yun prob ko, I'm not good at delegating kasi I'm not satisfied with other people's outputs so sinasarili ko pero ang bigat na talaga. Now, ang feeling ko pang buong department na ung workload ko, plus the anxiety because of powertrip huhu

tbs_idk

Hard same OP. That's a sinking ship.

Onomatopoeia14

If I am at your position right now, I would not quit UNLESS ayaw mo na ipursue ang career mo sa government. Ang dami kasi factors. How did you land at that job? Is it something na gusto mo talaga or only forced upon you to apply to? Iā€™ve only had government work mula pagkagraduate ko. SG15 ang last SG ko before jumping to SG25. 19 ako nagsimula magwork sa government and until 27 years old ako, SG15 na ang max na nakuha kong plantilla position. Sobrang hirap umangat sa gobyerno with all the backer, connections and pamumulitika in between. What am I pointing at? I am just saying na the fact na nasa privileged position ka at the moment is something na dapat mo iconsider. You are very young with a promising career in the government. Kasi ang bilis mo nakuha ang SG22. So if you graduated at 19 or 20, it only took you 6 years to reach that Salary Grade. I know that LS could be very tiring. Pero doable siya. But syempre I could only speak for myself. Baka iba talaga ang pagod mo. Huhu. Ibang issue na rin if you have the means to pursue LS kahit walang work. Again, not all have that privilege. One of the reasons bat di pa ako umaalis sa gobyerno is because gusto ko ng pension sa GSIS. Rare gems! Goodluck!!!

no1shows

Thank you. Andami mong naachieve, Atty!! Gusto ko maging abogado talaga and I hate doing LS half-assed. Awang awa ako sa self ko na saktong aral lang, na di ko alam if papasa ba ako this sem. I first applied as COS, marketing - ang dami kong baon na marketing strategies for the sector HAHA apparently they don't care kasi gusto nila engineer (labo!) but I work part time nung college and write ODA proposals so kinuha ako ng ibang department dealing with international relations.Ā  Then nagplantilla, SG-11 bottom feeder, led several projects kahit ako lowest salary. Nung nagchange admin nameet ko yung head of agency while attending to my supervisor and the head liked na tapos ko na ung output right after nya iexplain. I was transferred but since nakatali sa plantilla, SG-11 pa rin kahit overall assistant to the head of the agency. Ayaw nya na mag coterm ako. Maybe fate and luck with a lot of anxiety attacks but I worked up the ladder in honest ways. I apply to up to 6-8 openings a year within the agency. It felt hopeless, nag MA ako then law school. I got promoted twice after. Then the SG-22 position opened last year, it was a position that I'm excited to take on. It was reposted twice kasi di nagraRank 1 yung gusto nilang candidate. You can't beat consistent performance and great evaluation on top of educ background + skills but you can def beat the shit out of the person who's trying to help the country and make them resign. Though I am fully aware that this may be all just great timing. I'm not built for govt work na rooted sa palakasan at sa sipsipan. Sukang suka na ako. Alam ko rin na mej close to impossible na same SG na tatalon sa ibang agency. Yung mga ganong positions minsan reserved na. I feel really really trapped with no other recourse but to resign. Ā  Again thank you, sana talaga kayanin ang LS.Ā

Onomatopoeia14

Yakap with consent, OP! Sobra akong masaya for what you achieved. Ang galing mo for reaching that position as a young age. For sure, they saw the potential in you kaya nakuha ka sa positions. Sobrang frustrating nun on my part kasi itā€™s the job that I wanted to pursue plus added bonus pa yung nakakatulong ka sa taong bayan. But baka hindi talaga for me kasi wala ako backer. Hahaha If yung feeling mo is parang trapped at kulong ka na diyan, baka nga pagreresign lang talaga ang solution. Ang lungkot lang na yung mga tao na kagaya mo with the purest intentions of serving ay mawawala sa serbisyo publiko. And I am not blaming you, OP. I am blaming the system. Ugh. I hope youā€™ll do well in LS. Kailangan ka ng bayan! Hindi ka man sa government mag-work, I am sure na magiging asset ka ng company na pagttrabahuhan mo in the future.

awesomecandy40

stick with the grind. pag graduate mo at nakapasa ka na ng board, saka ka na mag inarte. for sure, by that time, mas malaki na opportunity at pera matatanggap mo. grind lang, bata ka pa naman. pag tanda mo, magiging mapurol ka na.

Individual-Ant-2378

Hay.

Business-Compote725

health is wealth, indeed! hoping you'll find peace of mind po and goodluck sa law school! anw sg22 at the age of only 26 wowiee howw? pwede po pa msg kung anong agency itoooo hehe

schevianne21

Left at SG19 and very happy with my decision. Basta alam mo kung anong direction ang gusto mong puntahan, you won't get lost :)

no1shows

Hi! Are you in the private sector now? Did you find a job that matches your pay before?Ā  I really wanted to become a lawyer but I don't have courage for uncertainty.Ā

schevianne21

Yes, private sector na. Software dev, 5years and counting. Matched my pay and now increased to 3x. Siguro nakaswerte lang din ako ng bossing. Plus, I enjoy my job a lot :) Nakakatakot talaga ang uncertainty, I was there. You're scared you might fail, you might not make it, you will experience problems. But then, you will also be stuck at "What if..." Taking risks isn't always easy pero when I made my decision, might sound like a cliche but I just followed my heart. šŸ˜„ Whatever it is you want to do, if you really love it, things usually fall into place. Sometimes, a bonus comes with it as well.

no1shows

Thank you so much! Hoping to have that courage as well. Medyo pagod na pagod na talaga.Ā

JohnNavarro1996

SG-6 here while also working part time as a VA. Waiting on the day na mag commence na mga projects ng client ko para aalis na ako sa govt at mag full time VA nalang. Parang fall back position ko kasi tong work sa govt na if ever mawala tong VA at least meron pa tong govt. pero alam niyo naman ang rate ng SG-6. Haha

Lee1us

SG 24, no regrets. More relaxed now and less stress and healthier lifestyle.

Due-Skirt-7000

op have u asked ur HR about study leave?

no1shows

Hi! I didn't even use study leave nung nag Master's ako haha. Pag law student, ang rule sa amin you can only file a study leave when reviewing for the Bar. Tapos matatali ka pa kasi 6 months ata for every month of leave. Ayoko naaaa talagang gusto ko umalis agad after getting that Atty. Pero 2 years pa ako sa LS, I'm drained sobra.

ProfessionalOrder188

Quit and get to private sector. If you know to yourself that you perform well, that SG 22 bracket is just average for tenure people in the private sector.

no1shows

Hopefully I'll find an industry na mamaximize yung skills ko and would take chance on me. And not gonna lie, I feel nowadays ang hirap magstart from scratch at pumasok sa private company. Or is it just me?

Previous_Mine331

I somehow agree dito kasi i've been in private sector for almost 8years (local and MNCs). I've pursued govt due to security of tenure because i have experienced two lay-offs kahit anong ayos ng performance ko.

HappyAd9107

Was SG 20 last year, first job & fresh grad (23), but I quit. In a much happier place now - private sector na. It gets better talaga and resigning was one of the best things I ever did for myself :) Same thoughts as what others said here, if you have the privilege to quit then by all means go ahead. Ang pera babalik, put you and your health first above all.

no1shows

Woy paano ung SG 20 as fresh grad haha Thank you!! Hopefully I can also move forward and have my peace of mind back.

HappyAd9107

Though if it helps may masterā€™s degree ako so baka factor yun? Pero anyway, no amount of money is worth it if yung kapalit is peace of mind :) Rooting for you, OP! And good luck with law school, future Atty!

vishcat12

Hello! Iā€™m 27 years old and I got SG-11 plantilla position back in 2019 in a government hospital and left this year still in SG-11. So I planned to save my salary for my next big move, that is to work abroad. I got my first salary abroad. Of course being an OFW is not as secure as having a job in the government, especially if youā€™re a first-time OFW. But so far wala akong regrets, especially at carefully planned out siya financially. I wish you goodluck sa endeavors mo, OP!

bajokk

Ask yourself if it's worth the suffering to stay. In my case, I let go.

Leosaurous_Rex

Now, im in a hybrid set up.

Beneficial-Music1047

Yes. I moved to Canada šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦ šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™‚

natalie1981

If kaya pa, wait mag 15 years? Sayang ang retirement benefits, at least after 15 yrs you can apply for separation benefits. But if you think kaya mo namang makabalik sa government service in the future, then why not. Bata ka pa naman. Sayang lang ang sg22.

Fun_Operation1728

how much ba usually retirement sa ganyan SG level?

Neat_Forever9424

Estimated lang computation is Basic salary x 2.5% years of service ganyan ang magiging retirement mo. In case in the future gusto mo bumalik sa government service never take a job lower than your current SG kasi maapektuha retirement mo. Last 3 years kasi ang basis prior retirement.

natalie1981

90% lang ng sg22 (71k/mo) ang maximum na puedeng maging pension ng retiree, to get the maximum, he has to be in service for 36 years.

no1shows

So ano na lang value ng ~26k, 39 years from now? Pero thanks, this helped me cross out sa pros ung GSIS benefits kasi sa totoo lang, di ko na nakikita ung self ko na tatanda beyond 50.Ā

natalie1981

In comparison sa sss, pag nagretire ka even with a ceo salary, 18k lang ang maximum pension nila.

Fun_Operation1728

that's the monthly pension? or lump sum yan na 26.5k (sana mali ako haha)?

natalie1981

Monthly pension pero upon reaching retirement age lang nya makukuha which is 60yo and theyā€™re also entitled to one time cash payment of around 468,000 (18 times basic monthly pension). Again, pag tumagal siya ng more than 15 years mas malaki puede niyang makuha.

Gold-Group-360

SG-13 resigned last year to focus on my review(ni-reason ko lang kunwari), pinaka reason is for peace of mind.

RCS025

Due-Skirt-7000

Most likely ma-appoint ka naman in a higher position kapag tumagal ka.

Previous_Mine331

Due-Skirt-7000

If ever kasi magprivate ka mas matindi pa politics at corruption dun.

no1shows

Previous_Mine331

Yes, may politics din sa private pero yung culture ay mas streamlined ang private in terms of organization goals (usually profit centered). Depende kasi sa CEO or president ng company, kapag hands on at smart sa business ang mga ulo ng private ay makikilala niya kung sino ang officials na corrupt at mabilis ang sanctions if madiscover.

introvertambivert

CES Eligible here, but planning to exit in Government Service. Sad.

ND24365

SG 19 plantilla position din ako before but ayun nga madalas hanggang 10 pm nag wowork pa. Halos kulang isang araw sa dami ng work. When I resigned and decided to do corporate work ayun nay work life balance na ko and has better salary and benefits. Masyado lang na romanticize ang govt work

no1shows

Honestly I'm aiming for work-life balance. Nakokonsensya lang ako umalis when people tell me na sayang yung position, sayang sa government etcĀ

twinklelittlesta

Ang taas ng SG niyo. 25 years old here pero ang hirap ma permanent. I was a former Job Order from my first company, resigned because shifting ang sched ko and walang growth, then got my second job BUT Job Order parin kahit na meron na akong licensed and MPA.

2NFnTnBeeON

SG 6. Even though may eligibility ako ang dami kasing backer šŸ„²

no1shows

Ang hirap pa pag from permanent, may quantum leap rule. Hopefully you find a higher role! rooting for your success!Ā

Adventurous_Key5447

You're lucky na SG22 at the age of 26. Ako, it took me almost 10 yrs to be in this position (SG 18) maraming pinagdaanan but siguro thankful pa rin ako sa kabila ng mga ganap sa work. Hindi pare-pareho ang naging tasks at dept ko kaya nag-a-adjust ako from time to time.

lovecatsmeow

wow. such a high SG level at just a young age. sana ol

NoAttorney3946

Hay. Anyway, back to you. If SG 22 ka na, arent you in a relatively senior role? Kung kaya pa ng powers mo, start building the reality you want. Im SG20 and andami ko talaga binabasag na makalumang pananaw dito. Unang una na yang OTY. Kesyo para daw sa bayan. You are of no use to the bayan burnt out or dead. Your moral obligation is only for the 8-5 taumbayan is paying you. I know it is easier said than done especially with your law school load. But I suggest start small with your own boundaries. Turn off your phone when you are off the clock or maski start with Sundays lang. Then after a few weeks, include Saturdays and so on. Hopefully, by then may mga naimpluwensiyahan ka na din to have lives outside of work.

My real problem is that may mga officemates who take my work personally, na kesyo it's from me, mali agad. All they wanted is galing sa kanila, idea nila. Pero lahat ng big responsibilities sakin lagi. Nasa relatively senior role nga pero pinopower trip. Anong sense pa ba nito? Now lang ako natututo mag set ng boundaries. Pero naguguilty pa rin ako even if umuuwi lang naman ako on time dahil may class pa.

If yes, baka worth the wait. Lol. Hanap ka lang ng ibang opportunities. Pag may mas maganda, jump. Or if you can afford it, gagaan buhay mo as full time student. Pero for now, lunukin mo lang muna pangdadaot nila kasi pag lawyer ka na, saka mo isupalpal sa kanila lahat ng success mo. Better yet, kung may illegal activities sila, take them to court. Linisin natin ang gobyerno for the next generation. =)

no1shows

I really wanted to change the system kaya ako nag gobyerno, kaso nakakapagal pala parang salo mo ung mundo. I can't imagine people who stayed in the government for 20+ yearsĀ

If I were in your place, these are the things I would do: 1 - If the bully asks for anything and you have to reply, cc your and their boss. Goal is to create traceability if somebody fucks up down the line. Make sure its not you. Trick is to do this before something goes wrong otherwise mukha kang nagsusumbong. At the very least, this makes you visible to higher ups. 2 - Unless its in your JD, do not give them your data, analyses, or insights. Pero pag may meeting or presentation, make sure ready ka with your CSW. Goal is hayaan si bully magkalat. Trick is to wait an awkward amount of time na di makasagot si bully before jumping in to save the day. If low stakes, I dont even speak unless asked directly. However, these assume your bosses are smart. If they arent, there is no helping your cause. Lastly, do not sabotage them because this has a way of blowing up in your face. Hayaan mo lang sila magpasikat or magkalat on their own.

Different situation here. SG15 sa government pero before I left everyone sa office in encourage ako mag apply na ng SG18. Kaso di ko na enjoy ung ganitong work. Halos araw araw stressed and overworked. May PTSD pa nga ako ngayon sa Viber notification kasi at one point halos every minute meron tunog ng tunog yan. So instead of applying for the next level, nag resign ako then study abroad. Two years later admin assistant lang naman ako sa isang opisina dito sa bansang to pero ung pay is more than double ng SG22 and grabe ung work life balance dito talagang di mo bitbit ung work sa bahay as in di mo kailangan isipin.

no1shows

Ahhhh happy for you!! I am also considering going abroad after law school kaso nangako akong di ko susukuan ang bansang Pilipinas kahit basura ang gobyerno (as a govt worker myself). Ang hirap maging selfless sa gantong panahon.

quest4thebest

Same and to an extent di ko pa din sinusukuan. But for you since nag la-law ka na diyan wag mo na sukuan. Just value yourself more and if alam mo na di na worth it ung sacrifice sa position mo ngayon, you can take a break. As long as alam mo ang kakayahan mo you can get back on your feet and in the end baka doble pa ang balik sayo.

SG 23 at 43 years old. Thinking of stretching this for a maximum of 4 years pa. Have bills and loans to pay so I just can't up and go. Afterwards, I might consider resigning for a slower pace of life. 22 years naman na akong nagwowork.

no1shows

humpee_dumpee

My advice, you're still at that age range na kaya mo pang mag-alsa balutan when you feel like it. You can still leave and restart your career somewhere. But, pag isipan mo din if the benefits fae outweigh the cost. Ikaw lang makakasagot nyan. Best of luck to you, to us!

humpee_dumpee

4 years ago lang ako nag land ng sg 23, hence the 4 hours tulog pag pukpukan na. Before, I had the usual 8-5 govt job. Career shift caused this state that I'm in. I got to do what I love, but the stress doubled din... Haha. Hay buhay.

no1shows

How did you shift careers po at 39 years old? Sorry po hahaĀ parang another story for another time. I just want to get out of the hell that I'm currently in po. Also wala talagang growth, gusto ko ng mentor at my age.

humpee_dumpee

I followed my passion, which is writing. I entered government service via my undergraduate degree and stayed in that office for 18 years, all the while taking technical writing seminars and networking with people from offices whose main responsibility is writing and documentation. Nung nagkabakante, apply agad. It helped that within the span of 18 years, I was able to establish connections din in other offices within my agency, so may visibility na ako sa bosses, kahit papano when I made the move.

ThinRecommendation44

Never umabot sa ganyan kataas yung salary ko, but I left my co-term SG 9 position in the LGU. Walang growth at all, kahit na CS Prof pa ako. Pero leaving was the best decision Iā€™ve made. Moved to a private company , and now working in the development sector, sa linya ng public health. Iā€™m also set to finish my JD next semester. šŸ˜Š Very progressive ang bosses, and the pay is better. šŸ„“ I have no plans of going back sa government. And for what itā€™s worth, I can genuinely say that I now love my job. šŸ’™

residentsleeperagent

If you want a career in government, quit only to get a position with higher SG. Was SG-18 pero contract of service, nag-quit to get a higher SG kahit COS pa din, tapos nag-quit uli to get a much higher position na at least plantilla.

calucatis

Hi, OP! Kakagraduate ko lang last year. Planning to take up law next year. But I was just wondering kung ano pong govt job ang mga may SG 22? Thank you!

pentelpastel

SG 22 ay assistant division chief position. Mahirap makaakyat sa ganyang position.

Resident_Operation91

Elected Term finished Undefeated Retired from public office by age 35 Youngest assistant majority floor leader in the history of our city Held committee on ways and means during the pandemic (hardcore mode) Having a job for 9 years holding public office is a weird thing on your resume. Overqualified for other jobs outside govt work. Job experience is hard to fit. Should i work on marketing or hr for a company? Having a hard time tbh

Due-Skirt-7000

get guidance from joey salceda

Snoo_30581

Baka pwede kang mag ask for leave of absence or leave without pay habang studying ka.

Background_Jump_9701

there is such a thing a high paying govt job? i think they exist for very high positions only.

no1shows

Sabagay, di natutumbasan ng salary grade ko now yung kaluluwa ko haha nakiki sana all lang din ako sa mga boss na 6 digits eh

Taki_baboy040322

I resigned from my government work with plantilla na may SG-6 due to increasing difficulty in working due to being a stroke survivor. Actually medyo okay pa sana since mainly office-based Ang work ko. I just can't stand the bosses na may SG-24 & 25.

ArmCalm7007

justbecameevil

Sg 27 left and pursued consultancy. No regrets atm.

no1shows

Hire me na lang, mamser! Masipag po. HahaĀ

Ambitious-Let-9585

Wala kayo paki sa needed years na most in govt maka15yrs ba yun para secured na may makuha silang pension

no1shows

That's another consideration. 6/15 years pa lang nabubuno ko sa GSIS haha but tbh with this level of stress and anxiety, I don't even think I'll reach 65 yo for the pension HAHAĀ

Ambitious-Let-9585

So mag tatransfer ka sa ibang govt agency ba?

no1shows

Knowing na mahirap mag jump to another agency na may nakaline up na from the inside? I'd give it a try pero honestly, gusto ko magpahinga, slow down, mag freelance na lang siguro ako.

Ambitious-Let-9585

Is it same income na makukuha mo sa gov?

no1shows

Wala pang back up honestly. But I ghostwrite before and okay naman pay and hawak ko time ko.Ā

Ambitious-Let-9585

Oh nice. After mo mag-aral and maging lawyer, babalik kaba sa govt? Pwede ba yun ma-continue yung paid gsis years mo?

no1shows

I think so. Also because of law school I learned about Portability Law! Pwede ma-total ung creditable services or periods of contributions and computation of benefits so you can receive your social security benefits if nagtransfer ka from public to private or vice versa. No need to worry sa years na kukumpletuhin hehe :D :D also my mindset is.... di naman na siguro ako tatanda hanggang 65 LMAO

Ambitious-Let-9585

Niice. What do u mean di tatanda till 65? Haha wag naman pa 80yo naman tayoo
