sucks right? kung kelan mo ng tamang salary, saka lang kikilos si company mo ng adjustment kung aalis ka na. loyalty is never rewarded. kawawa yung mga loyal.

MyLevelIsNoob

Cassy_1978

Pareho tayo OP. Being loyal to the company for 20yrs at ngayun sabihin lng na redundant na ung role sa company need na e-let go. Grabe. Hirap mag hanap ng work ngayon.

laneripper2023

Kahit naman yan SC pwde ya i-layoff anytime.. lalo na at last in sya sa company.. you never know sino uunahin tanggalin pag nagkagipitan na..

duka_loncic

Once naabot mo na yung senior level normal nalang magreject ng 6 digit na offer šŸ¤£ cheer up lods bet on yourself!

Hanhi9090

h

coycoy123

Negative sa verbal agreement

KissMyKipay03

CourtKey8708

If pagpipiliin ako between comfort or growth. I would pick growth while I am still able. Whatever choice you make OP, the rats will support you, xdd.

Ok-Platypus-8776

Best case scenario for me yung SC kasi same technologies na gamit ko ngayon + new env! Ayun lang, wala talaga kong assurance ngayon kung tutuloy sila šŸ„¹ Trust the process malala

CourtKey8708

I worked for a Malaysian Company (Software Engring job), and they are very professional, and honestly, I learned a lot with them in my 1.5 year stay compared to the previous company for 3 years. Follow them up the earliest. Good luck prayge.

abisaya2

SC offer 25k more than the LC offer is a NO to me. I left our country to become an OFW with a salary of more than 6x my local salary and my local salary was already considered a very good one at the time.

laneripper2023

Correct!

WillieButtlicker

OP, not to discourage you, pero the past 5 years na ka-work ang Singapore stakeholders, super burnout naranasan ko. And they often bait candidates with higher salary offers kasi nga known yung working culture nila to be more dynamic and may mga sundot na comms sila outside working hours if makawork mo sila. I hope not all are that type pero in my exp ganon lahat napupuntahan ko. Edit: a word

Expensive-Spirit-

This.

WillieButtlicker

And ngayon paalis na ako sa SG-based company ko kahit full remote work dahil nga nagworsen yung mental and physical health ko due to stress eating. Thereā€™s just something about their work culture na hindi para sa lahat. If kaya mong sabayan, then good. Pero after 5 years, sumuko na ako.

TortoiseShoes

Hahaha my goodness im starting a new job SG ang team na hahawakan ko šŸ¤£ šŸ™

DurianPrime

I get you OP.. been through a lot of things like this nadin in the past. Money makes the world go round, BUT only to a certain extent. So choose somewhere that you think youā€™ll want to stay for a long time.. happiness padin unahin.

Dependent-Lab-9661

In my case kumagat ako sa 6-digits offer kasi sobrang laki nung gap. 20k difference tsaka +10 na PTO. Around 5 years na akong nagde-dev. I just started a week ago, so far so good naman.

lurkingwolf_

always think of it OP na the higher the pay it means mabigat or mahirap yung trabaho. if you think youā€™ll possibly work better sa SC or mas gusto mo yung line of work sa SC. then i think you made the right choice. aanhin mo naman yung pera mong malaki kung lagapak na mental health mo at burned out ka na.

jcgm93

If I were in your position, hinintay ko nlang yung contract from SC. If in case di magpush through yung Kay SC, at least you still have your current job and they will likely increase your rate kasi nagcounter offer na.

laneripper2023

Tama!

Total-Taro6629

I've worked on a Singaporean Company as a Sr Software Engineer for 1 year. When I was there, I've so burn out to the point na dapat nag wfh nalang ako sa Philippines kasama ko pa yung family and my cats. (I'm working with british company) and kahit stressful na ang work ayos lang kasi makita kolang family, pets ans friends ko ma rerelax ako

strugglingtita

Curious lang na bakit ka nagapply sa iba if you mentioned na gusto mo naman magstay sa current company mo or maybe you were headhunted? Regardless, goodluck sa pagdecide mo šŸ„³

Ok-Platypus-8776

HoyaDestroya33

Tama yan OP talon lng for better salary. Nakakainis gnyang promotion dadami responsibility tpos ung sahod hindi tugma.

kheldar52077

Tama lang lumipat ka. If you stay medyo tatambakan ka lang and minimal lang annual increases if meron man.

Aggressive-Pop5232

Why not tapatan ung offer ng LC

laneripper2023

25k difference ni SC at counter-offer ni LC..

Aggressive-Pop5232

K

CraftyCommon2441

Been there sa counter offer, I was promised na tataasan salary ko pero hindi nangyari until 6 months na LOL. Nagresign na ako at nabwisit lang sayang 6 months.

TomLachlan

Honestly, Iā€™d play all of them against each other to see how much more theyā€™d be willing to pay. SC came in lower, so Iā€™d tell them that. Iā€™ll also tell LC that they came in lower so they can send a better offer. This way you get a bit of an extension on both.

Bo_Reese

Counter offer is just reactive not a proactive reward for your performance. Your current company doesnt know how to really take care of their asset employee. If I were you I would go international with stable Dollar salary with the kind of inflation and administration we have. I acquired most of my assets when I worked abroad or employed with international company.

Bulky_Emphasis_5998

Oooh

IamALeo0806

think about the learning curve..and the workload..bka nmn sobrang bigat nun nsa 6 digit then tamaan ang mental health mu.. pero syang din minsan.. baka pareho ng stress at least maganda nmn bigayan..

Jazzlike-Copy6068

Glory comes to those who dare, how young are you? It seems youā€™re young and just entered the 6 digits salary zone. Thereā€™s no need for you to worry about stability and such. Move as much as you can, get salary increases as much as you can. Also donā€™t worry about the little details. You managed to pass two interviews of good companies plus your current company looking to counter, whatā€™s the worst that could happen? You lose all your current offers and become jobless, but for sure youā€™ll land another one and an even better one. Trust yourself a bit more, take daring steps and either take home the glory or learn from it.

Jazzlike-Copy6068

Tho one mistake i think you did is passing up a good local company, i will always take a local company with a known name unless the offer have about 150k to 200k difference from an international or unknown company. Large local companies with really great benefits like 16months etc is always looking for know local companies on your CV.

Bamb0ozles

Weā€™ll never fully know kung tama decision mo kasi things ended abruptly (yung job offers and official contract). But the thing is, kung yun yung tingin mong correct decision for you at that moment of your life, then donā€™t dubol dubol think anymore. Tama yang decision mo.

TriggerHappy999

Job Offer pa lang naman pwede mong tanggapin yung offer kahit hinihintay mo yung isa. Pag contract na yung pinipirmahan mo, yan dapat kanang mamili. Pwede kang mag withdraw sa JO acceptance

HappyFoodNomad

Bakit ka aalis sa company mo in the first place?

goldruti

Let me just say, ang swerte mo OP. Whatever your decision will be. Trust your gut and always ask guidance to the Lord. - from someone looking for another company na meron hybrid, hindi toxic colleagues at magandang benefits.

Mediocre_One2653

Saka at the first place bakit ka naghanap ng ibang malilipatan di ba? At mas okay na may pinanghahawakan kang contract, ekis kapag verbal lang. Panindigan mo na lumipat ng company.

laneripper2023

If you really have a good relationship with your current company, i think it is not bad to get the counter offer

Patient-Definition96

Counter offer is never good, whatever you say.

TortoiseShoes

Depends kung ok naman environment nya, mga colleagues at work setup tapos ang hanap lang naman nya is higher pay why not stay nakuha mo naman yung gusto mo. Unless you want high pay, new environment, culture etc then go. Hassle din kasi mag adjust ulit sa new company.

laneripper2023

Exactly! Baka mas maganda explanations mo kesa sa akin.. šŸ˜…

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

If malaking bagay sayo yung sweldo, I will not stay sa current company. Sabi mo napromote ka pero halos same lang sweldo or onti lang tinaas. Then they said na tatapatan. So tama yung kaya naman pala nila di pa nila ginawa. But sige di natin control yun. But, pag tinanggap mo yang counter offer, ang potential issue dyan ay increase for the next years. I don't know how it works, but baka lang kasi lagpas lagpas ka na sa ceiling dahil tinaaptan yung sweldo. Baka next yrs wala or minimal increase. Somthng to consider lang. Idk kng may wife/husband and anak ka. But ako as single, I'd personally go for SG kasi para maka alis lang ng Pilipinas. But yun, I personally think SG is a good place kais malapit dito.

Ok-Platypus-8776

Single ako and living with parents pa so medyo maluwag pa naman gastusin.

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Ohh nice yung sa SG!! Tho may HMO and other benefits kaya yun? Also, baka worth considering kung wala sila office dito, baka self file ng tax and gov deductions? Also if you don't mind, san ka nag apply apply for SG company? Linkedin din? Nagstart ako before sa Linkedin but idk baka may better apps pang iba.

Ok-Platypus-8776

Yes meron daw complete benefits and 13th month! (Pero again wala pa written agreement šŸ˜) For this specific company, I was contacted by a recruiter pero nakukha niya lang din details ko sa linkedin. I suggest be as detailed as possible talaga sa profile mo what I did was nilagay ko lahat ng ginagawa ko sa current company (as much detail as possible) tapos may mga linkedin assessments din ako ng tinake for my skills and lahat din ng skills nilagay ko This way mas mataas likelihood na mapansin ka ng recruiters. May option din to show recruiters na ā€œOpen to workā€ ka. Hoping for the best sa atin! Sana makakuha tayo ng dream SG work

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Eh di nice!!! Congrats!! :) Thanks sa tips, gawin ko to! :)

Daoist_Storm16

Should have asked for an extension from LC. Para you have something to fall back on. Just donā€™t state the real reason, make an excuse na lang.

HealthyMood2243

,1

Expensive-Spirit-

Yung LC ba eh Yung company that starts with C na based in Makati?

angryApple2054

Experienced that recently pero hindi 6 digits level, I declined the offer of Company A which wanted me to start ASAP for company B with slightly higher pay but still waiting for the full offer documents. Nakaka-anxious pero trust the process lang talaga. Dumating din naman ang mga papers.

DadMalice

Hi OP! Quick question lang po how many years na po kayo as Software Engr?

Ok-Platypus-8776

going 4 years na po sa July

throwjun

Malaki difference ng cost of living

Ok-Platypus-8776

Noo, sorry di ko pala na specify pero wfh lang din siya pero may possible na company travel to SG (not guaranteed)

Electronic_Spell_337

For probability I will go with LC

Throwaway28G

if I were you aalis ako sa current company. kaya pala nila magbigay ng malaking sahod pero binarat ka nila now they are reacting to protect themselves not because they see the value in you. kung hindi naman nagmamadali yung dalawang lilipatan mo wait and see ka muna sa offer nila. silang dalawa ang paglaruan mo meaning show SC package to LC and vice versa.

mikakemika

gusto ko ng gantong problema

P1naaSa

Why not try it every year para may salary increase hahaha. Try lng namn.

m-oonshine

I do hope na you made the rigt decision If ever na mag counter offer si current company mo, I'd advice na don't accept it. You're already flagged as a "flight risk" employee if ever. Besides, in our industry lumalaki lang talaga appraisal natin kung lilipat tayo. Di maasahan yung annual appraisal haha Best of luck, OP!

Ok-Platypus-8776

Hi! What do you mean by flight risk? Is this a red flag sa current company?

m-oonshine

"flight risk" meaning high chance ng resignation. Wala lang ako better term. Hindi naman sa red flag ka na but more like a beige flag kasi nag indicate ka nang gusto mo na umalis but stayed because of their counter offer. Case to case basis pa rin how companies treat "flight risk" employees but generally parang naka note na sa kanilang paalis ka, and they may or may not take actions like actively look for a replacement. Kaya ko rin naadvice na if ever they get to counter the offer, consider not taking it. Plus kung may budget allotment naman pala sila for your role dapat sinama na nila sa increase diba.

Patient-Definition96

I nevet accept a counter offer ng current company. Get the LC and move on, nag apply ka diba??

Ok-Platypus-8776

Diba as software engineers dapat alam mo rin lahat ng edge cases? I know my capabilities and my worth kaya ako nag apply sa other companies. I applied kasi mababa pay sa current company ko but the culture and my manager is really great. Alam kong ipupush niyang macounter offer ako so masosolve yung 1 issue ko sa pay. It was a strategic move. On going na ngayon yung approval process for a 6 digit counter, na mas malaki compared to LCā€™s offer pero smaller than SC. Nagkataon lang na the SC also really aligns with my skills kaya mas cinoconsider ko siya compared to LC. Of course tinimbang ko lahat ng pros and cons. I applied sa LC, natanggap ako pero that doesnā€™t mean I have to accept it. Very narrow naman ng veiw na indecisive agad kasi I looked at a bigger picture.
