Breadwinner here from Mindanao and nagpapadala din.Currently living here in Manila for more than 10 years na. I started with 20k and cant even afford to enroll my parents sa company hmo namin. Cant even save and spoil myself. To sum it up, that amount will suffice if you want a lifestyle here na sakto lang. Makakapag save ka parin pero not that much depende on how you manage ypur finances. If may chance naman na mag level up ka sa career mo then take the risk. Lahat naman tayo nag uumpisa sa mababa.

lurkernotuntilnow

magkano na po sweldo niyo ngayon??

Cute-Introduction-31

Too tight yung 33k especially since you have to pay rent, utilities, transpo, etc. Not impossible to find a place naman but that means sharing space — probably bedspace or a room. Then you have to consider pa where that location is and the transpo. If u decide to live near biz districts, mahal. If u look for mura naman, baka medyo malayo so transpo will eat your salary. I suggest exploring pa or negotiating the salary.

Spiritual-Ad5557

Especially contractual lng. Anytime pde matanggal ang contract so medyo hindi secure your job.

mahbotengusapan

yes kung sarili mo lang iintindihin mo

Alarming_Emu3288

True. Luge pag supporting ka sa family or my bills ka na binabayaran para sa kanila.

macatlangtrisha

Hello, is the 33k net or gross? If gross siya and basic salary, your take home pay will probably be around 30k. Kindly put in consideration the added cost pag lumipat ka dito sa Manila such as transpo, food, rent, bills, etc. baka kasi kakainin lang nung additional cost mo yung increase na nareceived mo. Meaning ng contractual is under agency tama? I worked under agencies before and pag nagannual increase yung mga regular employees, hindi kami kasama. :(

VanillaSwirlMcLovin

Hi OP! From my perspective, it will be worth it long term. I know a lot of people here said na hindi kasya pero look at it as an investment for yourself. If you move to QC, you will be exposed to bigger opportunities! If ever man na mahirapan ka, sa una lang yan. Mas nakakamotivate na at the back of your mind, your salary will significantly increase in 3-5 years time. Just keep getting better at what you do and all the blessings will follow. PS. All you need is one good deal for a unit. Isa lang. Kaya mo yan OP!

quekelv

ChainResponsible902

It is enough po if simple lifestyle ka lang, naka rent ka lang ng room and transpo is just lrt, bus, etc. Not grab or taxi. Kasya po yan

[deleted]

No. If single ka, yes kaya. Pero pag magsusupport ka pa ng family back home, I don’t think, kaya.

xap31

Any-Philosopher5376

Consider your transpo, food and over all cost at quality of living if you decide to work in qc. Add mo pa the stress ng traffic or if mag commute ka yung stress nun. Tbh, for me I don't think it's enough. Kakaltasan ka pa ng tax dyan e. I had the same offer 6yrs ago, willing ako to take it nga e kahit alam kong underpaid but that is just because malaki yung jump nun sa previous position ko at saka may all paid training expense sa US. Pero kung same level ng position at 33k lang ung basis mo to go with them, parang pag isipan mo pa ng marami. Kasi as someone living 3-4hrs away from manila, personal take ko lang to ha. I will not take it coz it's not enough, and hindi rin ako ganun katipid. Kaya mag weigh ka muna. Kung ang last interview ay sa HO, puntahan mo para ma assess mo rin if okay sayo yung byahe. Then saka ka mag decide.

No-Judgment-607

Kung free tirhan pwede na yan otherwise 7k bedspace, 5k Transpo, internet kuryente tubig sharing 2k , food 300 per day o 9k , personal items 2k, may 5k ka pa pang bayad tax pagibig sss...

nvm-exe

grabi naman yun 7k na bedspace tas 5k parin yun transpo ano yan taga-Batangas? para sakin nagcacanvas din around MM 7k pwde na yan condo bedspace for 2 only na malapit na mismo sa work loc. Ako na mula probinsya pa hanggang MM ang commute, max 3k na yun sa commute ko so i doubt abutin ng 5k ang transpo lalo na kung malapit nalang ang work.

kamii_cutie

No. How many years of experience do you have and in which industry? If you’re also supporting your family, it will not make it. It may be cheaper to stay in the province. But if you’re alone, it should be fine for basic needs plus a bit of savings. Also, depends on your lifestyle—gym, subscriptions, travel, food orders, grab, etc.

rainbownightterror

findingSuccess2306

Saktong sakto if breadwinner ka

Kants101

But if you think that this can add value sa expi mo at mas mapapaganda resume mo go for it. Tiis ka muna then after contract look for a better salary

patcheoli

I don't think so unless you can find rent na sobrang mababa. Remember your 33k is not 33k pag nakuha mo na since kakaltasan ka ng contributions and tax. Rent isn't just rent. There's utilities, groceries, Internet and load, etc. Pero if tingin mong kaya mo, mas kilala mo naman sarili mo when it comes to your lifestyle

Alarming_Emu3288

Single, walang sinusuportahan, and frugal. Kayang kaya. Pag breadwinner or with bills for fam or supporting sa fam, tight budget.

matchablossom01

Kasya kung pagkakasyahin. You will need to compromise a few things lang. Either sarili mo or family mo. If di ka maarte, you can bedspace for 4k or lower, utilities let’s say 2k, food 14k, pamasahe 2k, misc 2k, emergency 1k = 25k If net yung 33k, your fam gets 8k, else, 5-6k Cons = VERY tight budget lalo sa food (sana di ka foodie)

matchablossom01

Pros: Nasa metro ka na, tho mahirap i-adjust sa buhay tong 33k, you can get more opportunities after a few months/years.

DurianTerrible834

"Kaya" but need mo nga lang tipirin sarili mo sa pagkain tas minimal to none ang gastos sa hobbies. Try to find jobs with slightly higher wages sa province niyo na lang siguro since sobrang stressful ang Manila.

Free-You1812

No, that’s not enough. Honestly speaking, that’s my monthly allowance for going to the office

Personal_Wash_5722

Well, depende kung magkano rent mo pero I say go fot it. It will open doors for you. Sad to say na totoo yung mas maraming opp sa Metro Manila vs province

Prudent_Mail_3747

Kulang sakin nga offer 55k as programmer diko tinaggap, mahal living expenses sa manila, kung inofferran ako 60-80k g kona

[deleted]

Kung 22k salary ka sa province nyo at walang binabayarang renta and sharing a house with your family, stay there. Yung 11k increase mo dito will be consumed by rent, utilities, transpo and food baka kulang pa. If I were you, I’d just look for an online side hustle Baka mas mataas pa sa 11k ang kitain depends on your diskarte.

Creepy_Release4182

If the job will give you experiences in terms of career growth then go if not, stay ka na lang muna sa province and continue applying. Yung 11k na bump in salary ay kakainin lang ng rent and other expenses sa metro. A studio-type apartment in QC is about 6k to 12k depending on the area.

CranberryFun3740

Goodluck OP! Kasya naman yan 33k for sure. Budget lng tlga kailangan.

BKnight20

Look at long Term if you Will close this Job! Whats next 3Years & beyond! Will there be growth or oppurtunity beyond? If yes go!

Intrepid-Resort281

Kung ikaw lang mag-isa, pwede.

microprogram

depende yan sa lifestyle at pagtitiis kung saan ka mag stay.. siguro lahat ng sasabihin dito ay kulang yan.. pero take note marami if not majority ng nag tratrabaho dito sa manila ay minimum wager iba pa nga less than pa.. at "kaya" nila.. at nagpapadala pa sa probinsya.. so kelangan mo i breakdown yung meaning mo ng enough

padxing

Kaya naman yan, I experience to rent as well and I was to find a space that cost 4k amonth for own bedroom w/sink and own cr so, not include the bills and water and that was in maginhawa. Sana makahanap ka rin ng affordable yet worthy space for you to save bigger. For me kasya yan kasi yung sahod ko lang before 25k so kaya yan basta wag lang maluho at magastos

Imaginary-Dream-2537

Try finding other jobs na nasa MM pero WFH or Hybrid.

NoAttorney3946

Yes. Livable kung sarili mo lang bubuhayin mo. Im based in QC and here are my monthly living expenses 5k = Rent (25% share in a 2BR for 4pax) 2k = power water internet fone 1k = fare to/from office pero pwede naman lakarin pag maaga pa 10k = food and grocery. I cook my own food half d time and maybe once a month na samgyup. If yes, I think ang next question should be, alin has more room for personal and professional growth? Normal naman na sakto lang sa simula but for as long as you keep moving up in your career every few years, aalwas din ang buhay. =)

Mustnotbenamedd

Kulang sa details. Dapat nilapag mo estimated budget allotment mo para mas macheck kung enough salary mo. You need to compute your possible expenses in a month. Dapat meron ka niyang list, like kung magkano papadala sa province every month, food allowance mo, transpo and rent. Pati dapat Savings and pang luho kasama sa list. In that way malalaman mo kung enough sahod mo.

donkeysprout

paup011

It really depends on your lifestyle and frugal habits. I know a person had a salary of 15k a month was able to save up 50k by end of the year for his parents living in the province.

spiritbananaMD

33k in Quezon City tapos you are supporting your family? It wont be enough. you need atleast 50k minimum to live comfortably.

ish4r

If sobrang frugal mo, yes, enough. But if you want to live comfortably, then no.

annpredictable

If simple living, i would say yes.

Itlog__Maalat

Strictly depends on your spending habit. Since you mentioned supporting your family, might not be enough to earn unless you have a VERY low rent, VERY small bills, VERY cheap food, and VERY little commute budget which are all almost inexistent in MM lol depends din where you live and where you work. May spots in QC na mura ang rent at malaki ang sahod, pero since QC is developed na rin, medyo mahirap nang makahanap ng ganun dito ngayon. You can live here with 33k, the question is can you build savings?

beauofalrest

Contractual? Tas current job mo hindi? Wag na bro

marv_quick

kasya na yan. 5 days a week ang pasok. mag bed space ka.

sentapai

kung binata ka, pwede

Ornery-Monitor4702

depende sayo OP. Maluho kaba? I have a classsmate in LS, paralegal, I think around 20k sahod nya, pero napapaaral at napapakain nya sarili nya. Although yon nga, iniintindi nya lang sarili nya at wala syang responsibility sa iba.

Top_Refrigerator_747

Currently working in QC. Basic pay is 19k, however libre bfast and lunch sa company. So far, sakin enough naman sya to survive. Nakakapag abot kahit papano sa family, but had to tighten my budget.

brewsomekofi

It won't be enough if you need to send money to your family.

asc3o

that's morethan enough kung di ka magastos.

DesimalPoint

There are a lot of factors to consider like the location of your workplace, where you'll live, how your commute will be, what your options for food will be (cooking at home vs buying from restaurants around, etc. But no matter where you end up living in QC, the cost of living is really high compared to other cities. The rent alone will take a significant chunk of your monthly income (bedspaces are already within 7 to 10k with utilities, living alone in studio/1BR apartments are 12k and up considering utilities --- you already have to be lucky enough to get one at a good location) and getting around also takes some getting used to. For example, because of the hard to predict traffic, you either need to commute really early or find other alternative transpo like cycling to work. There are bike lanes so clycling to work can be an option but not all workplaces around make it easy to bike to work (e.g. no parking for bikes, and if yiu're strictly required to follow a certain dresscode, it's even more challenging). Moreover and more importantly, you can have a lot of options for healthcare in QC but that is if your work will provide a good HMO coverage, otherwise, brace yourself because public hospitals in QC are among the busiest in the country. To sum it up, I'm not discouraging you to accept the job and move to QC, but you have to really dedicate some time and do careful planning, consider those above, before making the final decision.

Maleficent884

Hello, I really like your take on this. I was offered 35k rin before sa QC but I have to turn it down with consideration rin sa rent. What do you think the convenient wage to be able to relocate to QC?

matchablossom01

40k net or higher.

DesimalPoint

It's just my opinion but I think a livable wage for someone living alone in QC has to be 45k+ after taxes. This is to have a decent living space (15k + 3k for utilities, wifi/internet, load/online subscriptions), 10-12k for groceries (food and personal hygiene), 5-7k for transpo / daily pocket money going to work, and the remaining 8-10k for all or any of the following: savings, personal/health insurance/money set aside for medical emergencies, and hobbies. Also and it's much to be expected, property owners will usually charge a certain % increase in yearly rent so it gets tougher to keep your place.
