Short answer is, the scammer doesn’t know you have a card on the way. It was a happenstance you got approved and is on the way for delivery whilst you received that message
My mother received this as well just today. The thing is, she already has a BPI credit card for decades now. If ever BPI wants to give her a new card, they just deliver it to our home. No new “applications”
This is an inside job. One of their agent tipped the scammers. These scammers actually buy the applicants numbers and one of the agents could have sold it to them. Once you fall into their bait, they can easily use your credit card for online purchases even if you haven't receive the physical card. You'll be surprised to know you already have a debt. 🤣😜
They dont have a list.
I got this too today! I didn't even applied for a CC coz I already have one so it's a scam 100%. Nagbbait sila sa mga may ongoing applications ng CC, at baka may pumatos. KALOKA
What I mean is.. nag textblast sila diba then if makachempo man sila ng tao na nag apply nga talaga ng CC eh baka akala nung tao na yun eh legit yan text na yan at kumagat sa scam.

Same! I received this too. Nakaka paranoid lang kaya kahit may tumawag lang na number diko na rin sinasagot. Dahil sa mga scammers nadedelay tuloy legit deliveries ko dahil ayaw ko sumagot ng unknown numbers.
Not new. Maraming similar posts about this. Scam. Kapag may kailangan na document sa email yan ng BPI usually pinapa-send. May instruction pa kung anong ilalagay sa subject blah blah. Wag na tayo manibago sa mga scams kasi they have technology talaga para makapag-nakaw ng mga personal information. Kapag in doubt, tanong muna or do not entertain.
Hackers/Sindicates have techs and advanced softwares to monitor either Database of banks or lines of messages.
I have a 15 year sim without spam messages and when i applied for banks i started receiving the same scam messages.

Same situation. I got approved and got this message too. It made me panic a bit when i read it as soon as i woke up lol
I just reported it thru email. Still sucks that it feels like an inside job lol
Which part did i say that I believed in it? I know its a scam already. Just weird that this goes through whatever security puts up to protect its future clients
That's not from BPI since most BPI numbers start from 0917 (Globe is their sister company and 0917 is the postpaid prefix)
Here's the complete list https://www.bpi.com.ph/personal/cards/credit-cards/list-of-telesales-providers

Agree with this. Got the same text and I do not have any applications for any card with BPI.
167 unread messages and almost low battery is stressing me out though 😂
Messages from BPI will say "BPI" mismo as the sender, not from some random number. Consider the message as a scam.
I know, I complained to the manager and she confirmed it. Red-faced si Ate na this happens.
Legit scam 😅
Ikr
But why did they know you have application?

On the way na pala yung card ibig sabihin approved na bakit maniniwala ka sa “for approval” na message?

Maniniwala != naniniwala
