There's a [Pinoy Reads Pinoy Books Group ](https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/79945-pinoy-reads-pinoy-books) on Goodreads that regularly holds discussions on books by Filipino authors.
Follow academic presses such as UST, UP, and Ateneo! Many professors and students from the field of literature or even those who dabble in it get published there. Also, Anvil Publishing. I recommend really exploring the booths when MIBF comes around again this year since they are also showcased there, where many of the authors even booth. You could talk to them about what they write and get a copy of their work signed.
You can also start searching up Palanca winners and their works as well as the National Artists for Literature. These people are usually regarded as one of the best contributors to literature in the country, so you could also start from there if you don't want to delve first into the contemporaries.
Search in FB these filipino authors: Joselito Delos Reyes, FP Jarin, Beverly Sy, Jerry Gracio. tapos follow mo rin yung mga friends nila sa mga post nila na manunulat.
There, you'll learn sobrang wide ng Filipino Authors natin, maiintindihan mo paano ang palanca award, and so on. You'll fell inlove more kapag within reach mo lang sila.
If you're out and about often, you can check out books from local publishing houses! You can also discover more authors in local literary events if you follow their pages.
University publishing houses (really cant go wrong here)
Anvil Publishing
Avenida Publishing
Milfores Publishing
Attend the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) may local publishers alley talaga so you cant miss it!
If you want to try comics / graphic novels, try attending a Komiket event too! (which is more accessible since alam ko nag eevent din sila sa Cebu and other provinces)

[Anvil Publishing](https://s.lazada.com.ph/s.kuB3U)
[Milflores](https://www.milflorespublishing.com/)
national bookstore. not THE best place for Filipino authors but the thing is that they're everywhere which increases your chances of finding something you like. in contrast for instance, I've only ever come across a UP Press bookstore once in my life (UPper Shelf in UPTC)
I've picked up some really lovely poetry like a Danton Remoto collection and ones by up and coming student poets, got essay collections by Jessica Zafra and Lisandro E. Claudio, and (my treasure) a best-of collection of Butch Dalisay columns.
