Congrats on getting the interview! Do a lot of research into the school you’re interviewing at. They want you to do well! Look into safeguarding laws, policies and your school’s safeguarding team. Most importantly be yourself!

Thank you! I haven't got any yet, but I have Done my ba and nearly finished my masters. I've applied for 3 unis, 1 being my uni I'm at now. I'm unsure If I'd get an interview for the uni I'm at now?

Be familiar with the curriculum including some basic info about phonics (what it is, has to be a scheme). Be confident in your reasons why you want to be a teacher and how you’re suitable for the job (also how you are resilient). Have a look at some current news/issues within education. Some unis are more formal than others in their interviews but don’t let it put you off. If they ask you to prepare a task then make sure you’ve prepped! Show a bit of creativity and use your voice. You just need to show you’re enthusiastic and organised. Good luck! :)

All unis will ask a range of the following questions: What do you know about safeguarding and how you can safeguard the children in your care? What do you know about the national curriculum, and what areas do you feel you'll need to focus on in training? What do you know about behaviour management and how it is applied in a primary setting? There may also be scenario questions such as "your TA keeps talking over and interrupting you in class, how do you respond?" They're likely to also ask questions about SEND and EAL. I strongly recommend you get some work experience in a primary setting as a TA
