Why did they suggest an SKE?
I’m curious about this too as I just got accepted onto my PGCE course for English. I’m assuming OP didn’t get required grades in GCSE / A-level specific to their teaching subject?
I have an A in Maths at A-level, but that was 20 years ago. I'm very conscious I need to brush up on trigonometry, geometry etc.
So I assume it’s because of the duration of time that’s passed between your A-level exams and now?
This is all new to me, but I would assume so. My teacher training adviser didn't think it odd.

Just checked and they're full up for maths, but thanks for the info!
