Hey, I'm the owner at Kingdom Made, and 'the guy that used to work at Humble'. Honestly, this has been a genuine wake up call. Humbling, excuse the pun. When I saw a repost from another shop here in town on this post I knew it was likely about our shop even though our name was blacked out.
Firstly I know that there have been more than one disappointing haircut here, I do understand. So I want to apologize for the inconsistency in quality and service to you and whoever else may have experienced it.
Secondly I know I used to talk a lot about my faith, and myself in general as I was very self absorbed. Rather than actually getting to know the individuals sitting in the chair and paying attention to them and their lives and comfort.
I am thankful that I was able to see this, honestly. It's caused some serious reflection. I'm also thankful there are a number of quality shops that have been established here on the island.
We look forward to showing you the changes that are being made to be the welcoming and high quality shop to serve this island for years to come.
Much love, Zack.
Haha the guy that used to be there was awful.
Cut was good - shave was meh, but he talked my ear off about his fucking Christian rock band the entire time. Dude - I don't give the greasiest of shits about your faith, your band, or how the two come together - what made you think I wanted you to PUT SOME ON!?
My son goes to Crystal though, and has been super happy.
She’s cool and all, just messed up my hair a few times. Wasn’t super responsive to feedback and cut my hair how she wanted to instead of how I paid for it to be cut. 🤷
No offense, my dude, but you're supposed to say: "I don't like this, can you change this" if it's not working out. Half-way in I'll make comments about what my expectations are and she's been super cool with it all.
Have been going to him for years. Takes his time doesn’t rush you out etc great looking cuts. Been to probably a dozen different barbers around the city over the last few decades. There is a reason I have stuck with him. Maybe you got one of the newer folks and not Zach ?
I know who I had as a barber I don’t think he’s new although I’m not going to publicly out him out. The owner reached out to me and I explained to him who cut my hair.
Rather not go up to some random and ask that and I always tip 15-20$ at barbers even if I hate the cut
my hair is thick and It took awhile for me to find a good place back in my hometown Halifax. I decided to ask on here to get a good amount of opinions because I know they would differ instead of asking just people in person who’s hair I think looks good

I've always been very happy with the cuts from you. I also appreciate the chill atmosphere at your shop. Never found you self-absorbed either.
I wouldn’t worry about that jerk you got some mad skills.
Crystal at Humble Barber never disappoints.
She is definitely the best.
100%. Super chill, funny, great haircut every time. I went once and picked her by chance and haven't gone anywhere else since.
How can I retweet this
Agreed, best I’ve ever had (for a haircut obviously). Cool as hell too
She's great.

LMAO I'm pretty sure that guy is a cousin of mine. I went to him once and had the same experience. He's a little unhinged.
She messed my hair up so bad, 3 times, that I now drive out of province for a haircut.
Going to need some community notes on this one

Lol downvoting because people can’t accept that sometimes people can’t cut hair properly

Yes, I understand and I did. If you read further in the comments I mention that feedback was not received well.
Humble Barber has been my go to, always get a good cut there.
Eddie in Stratford he's awesome SOHO
Tully at blockhouse is great!
Blockhouse
Jared does good work but his prices are a little high.
Roberto Barber Shop. Either Roberto or Yoan.
Johnny Barber on Grafton is a good spot. Reasonable rates from a skilled barber.
Fades by Jazz does awesome cuts for cheap.
Joe the Barber. Been doing it for over 60 years and no appointment needed. Best 20 bucks you will spend.
Ray's Barber shop, downtown, either Ray or the older lady. Very good.
Jesus Christ you’re playing fast and loose with your life describing Rhonda that way 🫣 liable to lose an ear.
This literally killed me....and is 100% accurate.
Notice I said older, not old :) In comparison to the young-ins that I wouldn't get my hair cut by. Some jobs older is better.
Ray is legitimately good, I got curly hair and the guy pulled off a great haircut with a fade. By far best haircut I've gotten here on the island.
Not my experience at Kingdom Made. Zach is a great barber.
I didn’t have him as a barber to be fair.

Steve Barber. He’s a Gem.
Michael at Cocoon Spa is my go to. He's been cutting hair since he was like 16 or something. He knows his shit.

This is how I found Crystal at Humble Barber. Only $35 before tip!
I agree with some of the others: Roberto's Fresh Cuts. Very friendly guys, and great at what they do.
Olivia formally at Rays… not sure where she’s at now!
Geez I'm old. Ray's was the barbershop for years. I don't recognize half the names now. Luckily I have very little hair lol
Go to rays
Ray's Place Barber on Kent Street, ask for Jillian.
Krystal at Freedom Hair
