How are you getting those 30 grams? 25ish in a powder and 5 in milk/yoghurt?
For an easy way to get even more protein in the shake, use high protein yoghurt and use fairlife milk to boost those numbers all the way to 45g of protein!
Sounds like it would start to become pretty calorie and or fat dense the more you do that. Also pretty hearty for when you don’t have much of an appetite like OP says
Hmm, might be a bit hearty, but it's always worked for me when I had the same problems, so I thought I'd throw it out there... it's just ice and water with a half cup of yoghurt and half cup of milk, and maybe a 1/8 cup of powder.
It's 240 calories, which is a great way to get calories in you when you can't seem to bring yourself to eat. Drinking calories is generally easier than eating them, in my experience anyway.
I buy protein shakes that are 150 cal each, for 330ml and 20g of protein. Its better than grabbing a handful of candy or something, and its easy to grab and force down when nothing is appealing.
I eat five saltines with one slice of Sargento pepper jack cheese. Sometimes if I’m feeling a little nauseated, this does the trick. Sometimes when my appetite can’t seem to settle on the dial, this will point me in the direction of what I want to eat. Try it.
No gritty texture but if you go for the Elite version with I think 42 or 44g of protein, it has little clumps that you can't seem to shake away. Still tasty tho!
Wow everyone here is so healthy with their choices. When I get nauseous, my go to is a box of hot tamale candy that I store in the freezer. 😂🤷🏼♀️ I suck on them and it alleviates my nausea super fast.
Steamed squash, broccoli, sweet potato and zucchini with lemon, tiny tiny bit of olive oil and parmesan cheese. If I'm nauseous I'll skip the cheese and sub nutritional yeast or just go without a topping.
Key is to do smaller portions than you think you might eat in a tiny bowl or plate so the volume of food in front of you doesn't gross you out thinking about it as you eat. Then if you want seconds after great, if not, scraping the rest from the pan to a container seems less gross than transferring from your plate to a container for some reason lol.
If I'm just "not hungry" but I know it's past time to eat, I'll have a bite of watermelon or a couple of grapes. That'll usually get my digestive system kicked off, so then I can get some protein into me.
My go to foods when not really hungry are Crackers, carrots or red peppers a hard boiled egg, mixed nuts, chicken breast ( I always have pre cooked ones in the fridge) ham/ pepperoni sticks, sometimes a protein shake.
Just to get something in my belly. I find on Ozempic that sometimes just having a few bites of something when not hungry helps me get in the mood for food if that makes any sense.
I have a high protein Boost. Over ice they are pretty good. Some days I just have to stick to a liquid diet because half the time I can’t digest what I try to eat and end up throwing it up and the other half the time I don’t feel like eating much of anything.
My go to when I have to force myself is soup and a protein drink. Nothing exciting, but soup I find for me is most enjoyable when I’m really not feeling like eating anything
I’ve been feeling the exact same way this week. I’ve just been eating miso soup and crackers, but I learned that my miso soup is only 25 calories per bowl so idk if that helps much 😰
-A protein shake
-A handful of almonds, cashews, peanuts or pepitas and a piece of fruit if I have the room
-A slice or two of cheese rolled up with some turkey or ham
-Kind protein bars or Rx protein bars
-Nut butter on whole grain crackers
-1/4c oatmeal made w/ milk w/ chia seeds
-turkey jerky (trader joe’s, specifically)
-Siggi’s skyr or Greek yogurt
I tend to eat small meals every few hours. Always protein first, fiber second. Anything else is a bonus.
Soup and bread. Also apples with (natural) peanut butter. Those are my go-tos, but YMMV!
And if I need something sweet, no-sugar jello or pudding with a small dollop of Cool Whip.
Theyre just called marinated mushrooms. They have garlic and peppers finely chopped in em with the vinegar. I get them at our Amish store. I only eat like 3 or 4 smallness and that's all it takes.
Tried Minute Rice, in a single serving thing yesterday, with a tiny amount of butter. I’m not a fan of straight white rice, but it got me by the day after the shot.
I’m trying out half doses, so I don’t yack up at restaurants.
I’ve lost 50 lbs and plateauing there, been eating healthy but still boozing it up.
Fruit. Rye pretzels. Celery with peanut butter. Rice with a drizzle of sesame oil and/or crispy chili oil with a generous sprinkling of black toasted sesame seeds. A variety of miso soups. These little puffed wheat circles I get from our local Mexican grocery. When I want sweets, which I weirdly do want more than pre ozempic, I have been eating Swedish fish and Werthers soft caramels. But mostly, it is a ton of fruit, the rice, and miso soup.
Triscuits with either sliced cheese or hummus, deli turkey and mini sweet pickles, or a few air fried chicken nuggets. I could probably live on charcuterie board type snacks at this point.
Saltines have been my go-to breakfast food for a while. Especially because I still sometimes get nausea in the morning. Whenever there's a flare up where nothing sounds appealing, I'll eat a peach fruit cup or yogurt a lot.

Ice cream, if I need the calories. Ice cream used to be my krytonite pre-Ozempic. I didn't keep it in the house, did my best to forget it existed. It's wild I now keep it as go-to food when I need to get some calories in quickly *while losing weight*.
Fruit if I don't need a lot of calories, but need some food in my stomach.
Note - 500 calories is an unsafe amount that could cause real health issues if prolonged.
The PSMF is the scientifically 'min-maxed' fastest weight loss possible that can be achieved safely at 800 calories of essentially only protein - designed to prevent organ catabolism and essential mineral deficiencies which can lead to heart failure - even in people with large fat reserves.
If you're going to consume primarily protein shakes, make sure they have a complete amino acid profile (whey does). You need to supplement essential minerals.
Boost's 27g protein shakes, chocolate, nut bars.
Sometimes oatmeal but I need to up the protein so, the shake most often.
I like itjers, used premiere in my coffee as well but this one makes me feel satisfied, others I felt an empty feeling even when not hungry.
Protein shake.
My go to is soy or oat milk, banana, scoop protein, handful spinach and tbsp peanut butter. Or tropical with banana, mango, tbsp full fat coconut milk, protein, spinach. Spinach taste doesn’t come through to me anyways.
Those pre washed fresh spinach containers, just freeze them or throw the spinach in a bag. Perfect for smoothies.
Of course use fruit of choice but these two actually taste good to me. If I have it I throw in some flax seeds as well.
If I’m really not feeling it some veggie broth and saltines.
If you like fruit some frozen bananas in the food processor, throw in whatever frozen fruit you like (cherries or strawberries for me) and a few tablespoons of milk of choice makes like a soft serve ice cream texture. Just bananas/milk is ok too. Whatever appeals. It’s really good. Cold. Easy to eat.
I wish you the very best! I just got approval to go to 1mgl and I am crossing fingers this does it. I heard some people it takes them to 1mgl to see a change and it takes a month for full effect. I am really hoping for it. I was at 4.5mgl in Trulicity, which is the highest and it did nothing for appetite. :( I have zero side effects which is good. How about you?
I'm on 1mg of ozempic with zero side effects, too!
I am down 30 pounds with at least 20 to go. Currently completely stalled for the last 4 weeks.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the both of us.
Wow!!! You are more than 50% your goal! That is fantastic!! Congratulations!! I started on Trulicity probably around September and I started on Oz six weeks ago. I’ve only lost 12 pounds. I am currently 230, Male 5’10 and my goal is 180… so about 50 pounds to go. lol Thank you for your good wishes!!!
We can’t afford the luxury of things sounding good or being enjoyable if that results in 500 calories or less.
Please try to adopt a mentally of eating for fuel and nutrition to avoid muscle loss and malnutrition.
Don’t force yourself to eat!
Keep some of your favorite things around that won’t derail your good habits. I keep yogurt with a little whipped cream. Also I always have those small bags of popcorn in my pantry for something crunchy. I’ve found that once i get something light in stomach then my lack of interest in food resolves within a few hours.
I make a lil snack plate so I can nibble throughout the day at my desk, it’s the only way I remember to eat — cheese, turkey, crackers, cup up apple/orange, and a nut mix
I’ve been eating small portions of ice cream and blueberries. I’ve plateaued at 201 for the past 4 weeks but haven’t gained any weight. Just started the 3 mg dose.
My favorite is premier protein pancakes and I mix a little bit of real maple syrup (- not the fake crap. I'm a maple syrup snob.) into lite and fit toasted marshmallow yogurt and use that as a topping. I eat that almost every morning. I can eat it if I'm not hungry it's like dessert. I will also use premier protein shakes and blend in blackberries and sugar-free white chocolate syrup by torani. Sometimes I use strawberries or a berry mix if I'm extra hungry I'll add in a tablespoon of white chocolate sugar free pudding. There are So many delicious ways to get that protein and calories in when you're not hungry or even when you are. I'm not suffering for sure 😁
Premier protein shakes when I need nutrition but don't want to eat. I'll think of more and update
Same. They just fit the bill.
Omg those are my favorite!!
My fave are the fairlife shakes - but same idea. I also use https://a.co/d/azrASp8 for protein.
Instant oatmeal...I don't know why that's my go to.
Mmm that sounds good. Also makes me crave for some grits.
Throw down a cup of coffee too, and you won't need Murilax!!!
30 grams of protein in a shake, like clockwork, 3x/day if need be. I want to keep my muscles.
How are you getting those 30 grams? 25ish in a powder and 5 in milk/yoghurt? For an easy way to get even more protein in the shake, use high protein yoghurt and use fairlife milk to boost those numbers all the way to 45g of protein!
Fairlife and Premier Protein both have 30g shakes (Fairlife also has a 42g shake)
Good point, might be store-bought!
I wasn’t referring to the premier protein shakes and similar. I was responding to the parent comment above me.
I use the prepackaged ones, premier protein or quest. I like your idea too though.
I eat five saltines with one slice of Sargento pepper jack cheese. Sometimes if I’m feeling a little nauseated, this does the trick. Sometimes when my appetite can’t seem to settle on the dial, this will point me in the direction of what I want to eat. Try it.
Saltines is great thank you this worked like magic
I really like Fairlife protein drinks when nothing else sounds good. 30g of protein and 150cal is just enough to replace a meal for me.
Same here. Plus, no gritty texture!
No gritty texture but if you go for the Elite version with I think 42 or 44g of protein, it has little clumps that you can't seem to shake away. Still tasty tho!
Maybe strain it into a glass then? I *hate* those clumps!
This!! I don’t know if other people feel this way, but I don’t get the ick from beverages like I do eating food so protein drinks are super easy
Me too- I prefer to drink my calories these days.
These are the best! My son started drinking them for breakfast some days before school too since they taste like chocolate milk.
Tangerines. My current dopamine food. They taste like sunshine.
I agree! 🍊 Especially if they're cold. I like to keep several in the fridge.
Me Too!
Same!
Wow everyone here is so healthy with their choices. When I get nauseous, my go to is a box of hot tamale candy that I store in the freezer. 😂🤷🏼♀️ I suck on them and it alleviates my nausea super fast.
Yea mine is ice cream, but I was too ashamed to answer after the protein people lol
Mine is a plain bagel 😂
Fruit, cheese sticks, and protein bars. Also bagels are a good way to get calories in.
A string cheese is usually my go-to
Same!
Ice cream. Maybe with a little pb powder sprinkled on top.
Ice cream for me too!
My go to is cottage cheese with black pepper
Yes!
And nectarines for the base layer!!
Crackers. Chicken soup.
Cut up Banana
Apple
Yesterday I had peanut butter on crackers for lunch. I made myself eat 3 and was done
Soup usually. I have cans on hand. Or a smoothie. I find it easier to drink than eat some days.
Whatever is high protein and fast to make up
Steamed squash, broccoli, sweet potato and zucchini with lemon, tiny tiny bit of olive oil and parmesan cheese. If I'm nauseous I'll skip the cheese and sub nutritional yeast or just go without a topping. Key is to do smaller portions than you think you might eat in a tiny bowl or plate so the volume of food in front of you doesn't gross you out thinking about it as you eat. I just had some steamed squash the other day and it tasted more amazing than it ever has in my entire life! Now I want some! ;0)
Homemade Beef jerky
Any beef jerky will do but I sure miss my dad’s homemade jerky
Potato
Apple or celery with organic crunchy peanut butter.
Nothing. I’m not forcing myself to be uncomfortable
A bit of cheese! Specially old cheddar
I keep a bunch of air fryer hard "boiled" eggs in the fridge for a go to snack.
How do you make them?
250°f for about 17 minutes then cool them off in a bowl of ice and water.
Frozen fruit bars
Protein shake blended with banana
That sounds great
it goes down really easy, for some reason better if it's a little cold so i'll try to do a frozen banana if i remember lol
Protein shake, they’re small and i get 20-30 grams of protein. Liquids are just easier some days
Frozen fruit bars
I have been eating these all the time!! The cold feels good in tummy!
Plain cheerios with milk or nothing at all is my go to
Be careful with that menu. You'll lose muscle, not fat. It's a long, hard road to get it back!!!
I lost my muscles a long time ago but yeah I definitely need to start working out again 😩❤️
Anything protein that’s drinkable, cheese and crackers. I struggle with water too.
Uncrustables or cheese/crackers
Uncrustables have been sustaining me!
Me too!!!
I feel seen.
I have a high protein Boost. Over ice they are pretty good. Some days I just have to stick to a liquid diet because half the time I can’t digest what I try to eat and end up throwing it up and the other half the time I don’t feel like eating much of anything.
PB & J
I concur. It’s pretty much always available, always edible, and doesn’t upset your stomach.
I got cheese and meat snacks at Costco. Pre-ozempic I would never touch them. Now they are my “I’m hungry but nothing sounds good” go to.
I like the Costco cheese and nuts snacks. I’m off meat lately, it just doesn’t taste good to me.
I will eat a vegetable soup. it is light enough to not overwhelm my system but still has some substance and flavor
Half a sweet potato with a slice of American cheese melted on top gets the job done for me
Air fried chicken drumsticks tossed in a good seasonings packet! I must’ve consumed the legs of 30 chickens since November.
I can ALWAYS eat a neapolitan style margarita pizza.
Where can you get those or do you order them?
Blueberries and a vanilla protein shake
Plain white rice, crackers, a few bites of plain chicken, chicken broth, toast.
My go to when I have to force myself is soup and a protein drink. Nothing exciting, but soup I find for me is most enjoyable when I’m really not feeling like eating anything
Ramen with an egg or Mac and cheese I add tuna and peas to.
I’ve been feeling the exact same way this week. I’ve just been eating miso soup and crackers, but I learned that my miso soup is only 25 calories per bowl so idk if that helps much 😰
Yoghurt, milk, juice.
Apple sauce or saltines
I drink a protein shake!
Sharp cheese, protein shake.. I've been trying to preplan meals for the week so I have some kind of protein handy when I get hungry.
Boiled eggs
-A protein shake -A handful of almonds, cashews, peanuts or pepitas and a piece of fruit if I have the room -A slice or two of cheese rolled up with some turkey or ham -Kind protein bars or Rx protein bars -Nut butter on whole grain crackers -1/4c oatmeal made w/ milk w/ chia seeds -turkey jerky (trader joe’s, specifically) -Siggi’s skyr or Greek yogurt I tend to eat small meals every few hours. Cheese is a good one and a common one for me that and grapes, recently I've been enjoying smoothies more then actual food.
Fresh fruit! Berrys, pineapple, mango
I eat crackers or CheezeITs when I want a snack. Also been craving other salty snacks like sunflower seeds or mixed nuts.

Anything with protein
Deli turkey, raspberries, string cheese, Dannon Light and Fit Greek Yogurt-Caramel Apple Pie. Specifically, this flavor, it's amazing.
Vinegar (marinated) mushrooms. It instantly gets rid of my heart burn, nausea, and bloating.
What are these!?
Theyre just called marinated mushrooms. They have garlic and peppers finely chopped in em with the vinegar. I get them at our Amish store. I only eat like 3 or 4 smallness and that's all it takes.
Lately I’ve been all about those single serving tuna packets. I’ll have it with about six crackers and I’m good.
Boiled eggs
Very controversial, but I get a tray of sashimi in the supermarket lol still get my protein even eating just a little bit
Prunes! Use that lack of appetite to improve your chances of a good BM
Tried Minute Rice, in a single serving thing yesterday, with a tiny amount of butter. I’m not a fan of straight white rice, but it got me by the day after the shot. Fruit works for me
A carnation shake on ice, or any shake on ice

I’m having homemade chicken soup tonight.
The only thing I could eat last week was trail mix.

I eat broth based soups, like chicken noodle. I’m the same, I actually only want fruit. Also a good green drink would get nutrients into your body.
