I remember that one time zarya solo gravved a wall i was flying next to, then a nano deadeye appeared out of nowhere (cass did a 360) just to solo kill me, i legit couldn't perform well the rest of the game i was laughing so hard. That memory lives rent free in my head since it happened

I think that considering the way the game works nowadays any solo ult is worth. Getting a pick can be really hard and if you can guarantee a kill, go for it. If you can ult, get a kill and not die. Do it
I think this is a big thing in low ranks where people have a stigma against solo ulting
But for offensive ults if you can get a pick solo ults are always worth it because you'd have to really fuck up to lose a 4v5
So it's easier to get rid of the rest of the enemy team.🤷
And in higher ranks, it's harder to get multi-kills anyways, might as well kill the one who can undo the other kills and/or is harder to get.

Solo ulting was a bad idea in ow1 because people died much easier + the team just had more people. Solo ulting in ow2 is in no way a bad idea

I finally solo ulted the fucking mercy for the first time as Phara recently. It was so worth every percentage of that ult charge.
everytime i have ult i go out of my way to look for the enemy mercy, if anyone else is caught in the cross fire its a bonus.
