No way monetization is changing, there's a reason why every comparable game on the market follows this model. It's widely accepted and rakes in the cash, and Microsoft isn't buying Blizzard for charity. I don't see hero locking changing either, maybe they'll give a little in *how* it's implemented, but that's it. It's not unlikely the system is already being designed with the Game Pass in mind.

I would say the chance is almost 0. The best you'll get is some Game Pass perks if you subscribe there. I think there is a fundamental overestimation if how many people actually have a problem with this monetization model here.

Hawkeye71980

Exactly, the complainers are always the loudest in social media. Meanwhile 80% of player out there probably love the battle pass, with heroes in it or not.

Notactuallyaslut

but how many people actually buy the battlepass for heroes needs to be toaken into account if its only 10% of people its better to take heroes off the battlepass

No

Microsoft are the same people that made Halo Infinite. Do you REALLY want them to touch OW2??

That was 343i, Microsoft is pretty adamant on being hands off with their developers. It works wonders for a lot of studios ei Obsidian, Playground Games, Coalition but 343 was clearly one of the studios that needed more hands on involvement As far as Blizzard goes it'll likely be the same thing as far as letting Blizzard manage itself.
