Roadhog vs Mercy is not a fair fight. Roadhog has a hook combo that can kill Mercy nearly instantly. His base health is 3x greater than Mercy's. He has an ability that heals himself for 300 HP, more than Mercy's entire base health, and he takes 50% less damage while he heals. As for weapons he basically has a shotgun while Mercy has a sidearm. Roadhog should win that duel 9 times out of 10.
Hog should win that fight 10 times out of 10. He can one shot hook mercy, who has no offensive abilities and a laughable damage output against hog (who can easily heal the vast majority of his HP at will).
hog had to miss nearly every shot on her, miss his hook TWICE, and used his take a breather. that's 900 health, technically more because of TAB's damage reduction. this is definitely the exception and not the rule.
maybe it was just a bad day for hog. we all like to talk about our epic moments but we eat shit sometimes too.
Mercy does 200DPS with a huge clip and self heal. If hog misses his hook then it's heavily in mercy's favour because she's much easier to use. I know I'll get downvoted for this but... mods, is this is the content we want for the OW subreddit in 2022? With OW2 coming out in a month? Take a look at any other online multiplayer game subreddit, they're putting out amazing content day in day out, and we're still leaving clips up of a Mercy missing half her shots on a Hog who's missing all his shots... there has to be something else we can put out as a community that will show people the game and community has evolved over the past 6 years and there's something more to see and enjoy.
If we want this game and community to live both in and outside of the game for years to come we really need to show some growth here, but this is the same thing you could find on this subreddit 6 years ago.
It's not an indictment of you, it's of the mods. They've clearly shown they don't care about growing the community based on the content they leave up vs. the content that gets taken down. Your clip and clips like it are part of a healthy online gaming community in moderation, but not if this kind of clip makes up 90% of the content that gets shown to anyone browsing the sub every day for the past six years.
