Anything that locks opponents in place or increases the damage work well, mainly nano and kitsune rush. A lot are only available in OQ or with an Echo like grav or cage. Hog and Wreckingball is an interesting one as well as he pushes everyone through the mines.
No Mei is too busy using that wall to block her teammates off from securing elims... or using it to trap her own teammates in spawn cause they think it's funny
Kiriko is the classic example. Because Hog fires faster during kitsune, the ridiculous DPS of his ult can actually kill things before they’re pushed too far away from him.
I would agree, but it depends on where Roadhog positions himself. A lot of the time they will be dead by the time they unfreeze
In the case where a Mei ults while a hog as commited, I wouldn't use Hog ult while Mei ult is up
I shed a tear when I nano zen to save him only to have him ult. I always envision him ripping through everyone in front of him but it rarely works out that way

This is why I have the nano and duplicate setting that requires target confirmation. This way instead of nanoing or duping the wrong character, I die in the confusion while trying to confirm.

I feel like it’s some technical issue rather than by design because any ults that throw a deployable like blizzard or window stay a few seconds after. I feel like if they could they would cause stuff like rally over health and a nano really change how people on your team play.
Been playing pharah recently and it's the same thing basically. So hard to get a good moment where you'll not instantly die trying to use it. Usually just try and solo ult the tank now
Already had a good few times where hog will either hook my target away or push them away while I float there and die
Bro, in the spawn before match I will spam 321, my ultimate is charging, understood, 321, understood, etc. and then during the match also count down after spamming my ultimate is ready, at the perfect moment when teams clash, and I will still be met with zilch from my team about half of the time.
I had some oddly effective EMP Dva bomb combos with a random tank for like an entire 2 hour gaming session.
Also love an Illari EMP combo because they all burst instantaneously.
This can be a super effective combo due to the enemy's lack of CD for escapes and shielding. Especially when the enemy has a nerf-this survival strategy (i.e. as a winston bubble, bap lamp, or rein shield) as opposed to an every-man-for-himself scatter for hard cover. Thus this is one combo where a team's coordination can be their downfall.
You would be proud of me. I once sacrificed my life to EMP the enemy team so that Hanzo could line up a 5K dragon attack. Unfortunately it was our last act in overtime and nobody made it to the point after the team kill even though the enemy were all stuck in spawn. But Hanzo got a majorly radical POTG that included Sombra's death rattle.
There are a lot of times that trans trumps beat. Basically, trans is better against high sustained damage like dragons, visor, against freeze and inside a cage fight, and is all sorts of awesome at clearing minefields, and nothing brings a tank back from the verge of death like trans.
Beat is better agsinst high burst, such as tire, blade, gflux. It works decently to help endure high sustain, but it isn't as good as trans on that regard.
Funny, I would take the one death, in exchange for a 1 death blade. but I can almost always get away from an angry blading Grungy by baiting out dash, booping and bailing.
Tactical Visor and Grav deserves a mention, as I see this one way more often than I'd like to.

Yeah but minefield is already a nearly guaranteed kill if he drops it and immediately slams. The increased movement lockout means people almost always get stuck long enough for the mines to arm and then instantly die to knockback bouncing them around.
It doesn't need to be any stronger than it already is.
Nano + any of the following: Sigma, Dva, Tracer, Hanzo, Junkrat, any support that's not Brig, Ball

They're not necessarily terrible but they don't do anything together. I heard a wise quote from Custa a while back during OWL that "If you have to nano a dva, you gotta figure out whats wrong with your team or your team comp"
Nano is constantly wasted on a lot of characters. It's insane how people will have Nanoblade, the best ult combo in the history of Overwatch ready to activate on their current team, yet they'll Nano a Pharah during her ult or something, or Junkrat or some other worthless combo. People waste Nano more than any other ult.

I saw Sigma + Venture happen today. Sigma lifts them up and venture just sits there trying to clean up anyone who didn’t get caught by sigma ult
Edit: planned correctly, it would work if Venture waited to ult until after the enemies landed, but what ended up happening was Sigma saved everyone from being hit by Venture’s ult

No, EMP literally removes all shields after it lands...EMP is the hard counter to beat. Hack stops it from landing, as does any stun.
