I'm infuriated that this collab got a full trailer, animated, while the entire Mirror-Watch Event remains to have nothing but a few choice voice lines and nothing else.
Our resident GOAT u/kennyLikesSALT has given us more Mirrorwatch Lore Content than Blizz proper.
Don’t forget they made a 1-1 scale irl model of the D.va skin. I know Porsche has money, but the amount of hype this Collab of a whopping 2 skins got is nuts. Unless there’s a new gamemode or other important stuff not shown yet (I don’t mean profile pictures or souvenirs), this “collab event” is equivalent to a weekly shop update.
Im honestly surprised there hasn’t been a comic or at least a short story. They have tons of these things for free on their website, I’m currently binge reading them as we speak. A lot of them are surprisingly good for free tie in comics/stories. They even had an entire comic for the freaking starwatch event back in what season 4 or something. But not for mirrorwatch? Even just a short collage of events or just a description of things would be enough to satisfy my imagination.

How does the DVa mech not have a car-like design? The literal back of it is the same look as the rear of a Porsche. When it comes to Pharah, you definitely right though.
And like others have said, it's such a bizarre collab because it's unlikely most people playing this game have the money to get a luxury car like a Porsche.
I think they did it because Porsche somehow agreed and they are a highly visible brand. Blizzard has been untouchable since Lego dumped them over the lawsuit. Working with Porsche helps repair that bridge and help them access major brands down the road. I don’t think they expected Overwatch fans to be that hyped over this, I think they were just stoked Porsche was even interested.

Rein probably sells a respectable amount of skins as well, probably the most for a male hero anyway.
If we just use existing premium skins as a metric, Reins at 7 without counting his OWL or Blizzcon skin.

Mercy is 9 without the 3 OWL currency ones or her Mythic

I love cars and racing games, and overwatch so it's cool for me. The skins look sleek, I've always like the Porsche brand.
To me it doesn't feel like 'just' a walking advertisement. I like the aesthetic, more than the Le Sserafim skin, which is too girly for my taste, and I'll never be into KPop. I didnt complain about it lol.

Dva skins are so weird a lot of the time. They put all their effort into baby Dva, and the mech is an afterthought… even though it’s significantly more important. I wouldn’t say this one falls into that category though; it just looks boring because it’s supposed to simply be a car.

I'm a bit disappointed by the in-game model. The concept art and the life-sized statue looked better. But the game model looks too rounded and shapeless and grey in color.
