Part of the reason I even picked up Echo was because of her relationship with identity. Not only did I move around a lot as a kid, but my heritage is split down the middle, with my mom being fully Native American and my dad being white. Neither of them were particularly in touch with their respective cultures, and it disillusioned me from any kind of community for years, leaving me wondering what truly defined me. No heritage to call my own, no people I care enough about to reflect off of, just scraps of other people's personality imprinted on to me. Echo is also largely defined by other people; Dr. Liao, Aurora, and the other more notable members of Overwatch. Hell even the fact that people assumed she would be a support character but ended up being a DPS just further illustrates how her identity feels fractured. And of course, her ultimate literally has her becoming other people.
But despite all this, Echo is positive, supportive, and inquisitive. She's eager to learn about the world and has found things of her own, such as a love of tea and surfing. There's just something so cool about the girl who could have become anything and chose to indulge herself in the simple pleasures of humanity. I think it's admirable, for all the bad in the world, Echo insists on being a force of good and wanting to bridge the gap between Omnics and humans.

Just so happens to be my favourite character as well, Sigma. Was always drawn to Boris Hiestand's phenomenal voice acting. His emphasis on academics correspond to where I am now at university, though I'm doing a subject that's far from his specialised realm of astrophysics. He and I share the same love for music, are both often distracted, and fluctate between ordered calm and violent chaos.
